it looks like a condi build from the weapons and traits but the gear is power based?
warriors have builds with great single target or aoe damage, builds with great healing & condi cleanse, builds with great mobility, builds that are very tanky and have stability.. but NEVER everything – you cant tell the weakness by the class when fighting a warrior, you need to get familiar with the builds.

We lost a few people (like all servers i guess) and have seen some people returning and new folk coming over aswell. Status atm: Room for more all around the clock (no queues), still have low coverage late night / early morning and a comparably powerfull primetime. Mid Tier silver is where its at, trying not to sink below AG / FSP / Piken too much as we have/had some superb matchups with those guys (all servers being guild/fights-orientated hardcore WvWers and dont do 24/7 karmatrain borderhopping – thanks again guys) and would like to continue the fun, so join us for more WvW at its best!

Nah, nothing in WvW has changed except its even more karmatrainy/blobby now. Class balance has changed a little though. Oh and there is Edge of The Mists now – if WvW is too little karmatrain for you, thats the place to be – good for leveling alt (if you are green).

we dont need another karma train system without community, motivation to defend and communication, they are already all over GW2, starting right in queensdale, up to the new “wvw” EOTM. What we need is incitement to balance out server population – like transfer costs scaling with ranking instead of how many PVEers a server had half a year ago.
Red is actually very decent. Keep, Veloka & Ogre are almost impossible to flip. Ogrewatch can basically only be trebbed from either SM or Ogres, Veloka can only be steamrolled or ninjad with Catapults. Ogrewatc has strong cover fire from Keep and can be reached in seconds (as an outer tower!). Red is the only color that can treb SM from their keep, giving them a huge advantage in ability to ninja SM. The downside is of course keep outer walls being trebbed from SM, but those SM trebs can be dispatched by counter treb. So basically green and blue need to camp north of SM to do damage to the keep or ogrewatch which leaves their back open.
The inner red keep cannot be trebbed except from Veloka and Vista (which can be countertrebbed by a treb that cant be trebbed) and is easily sieged up to overkill because there is no room for the enemy to build anything. So the “triangle of power” how i call it (ogre, veloka, keep) give red a very strong fallback position. Yes, Anza and Mendon are constantly exposed and can easily be capped, but the enemy who caps it is very far out and vulnerable to the other color. And red needs a downside too :P
BLUE on the other hand has long ways, no good defensive siege positions on outer towers, open to all kind of attacks. I would consider it worst.

There was a long long thread in the german section like a year ago or something about the same problem on a german server.. Anet’s stance is basically everyone is allowed to play the game like they want.. if they harrass other people its ok with Anet. If they do their very best to spoil the fun of the whole server its also ok with Anet. A million reports wont change a thing, its politics.
To the people of Gunnar’s Hold (i love you
) – try to think him as a kind of mascot bringing just another handicap to our wvw experience (God knows we have plenty of handicaps already – numbers, coverage, commanders) and try to ignore him / live with it. We managed to have fun despite him so far and we will continue to try. Maybe one day he will grow up and realize what miserable kind of person he is / has been and take appropriate action. so long – dont feed the troll.

it has been discussed on day 1 in a HUGE forum post which the devs locked away.
no1. issue in WvW has always been, will always be… population / coverage. thats why servers getting stacked, thats why servers are dieing out.. people join stronger servers to be part of them and that makes them even stronger. people leave lower populated servers becaue the opposition is overwhelming / there is nothing you can do. there is not a single tiny mechanic in the game to stop that except gem costs and those usually arent even related much to the strength of a server in wvw. oh, i forgot outmanned buf (lol!). The actual competitive WvW game is bringing more wvw people to your server, all the ingame stuff is just a sequel.
ppt is not meaningless, the issue outlined above MADE it meaningless.

Condi Meta: Introduce a new form of cleanse – instead of cleansing 1 condition completely, this cleanse will cleanse a low amount of stacks of all conditions.
Stealth: If you dont switch targets by tabbing or clicking something else, your target locks back onto your enemy when he/she comes out of stealth.

Remove the AOE Cap and WvW would instantly be awesome again.
in a rightful ranking order all those nightcappers would get punished for making 50% of their score in a few hours when no enemies are logged on. #abaddon #fsp. Just saying…
longbow + shout healing + apothecary gear = no problems with mesmers / thieves. you might not kill a good thief because of his many escape tools, but he wont kill you either. generate adrenaline with the shouts and stand in your fire combo field.. use warhorn 5 to reduce his damage and stack might with lb 3, warhorn 5 and FGJ, leap to get the fire shield. if you land a pin down while they are in firefield = death, if they use shadow refuge you put a combo field on it or use fear me, try to not expose your back against thieves (turn around constantly, “expect them” and dodge at the right time, you can even stand with your back towards a cliff so a thief cant backstab or shadow step you) and try to apply constant pressure on mesmers and become a good judge to what are the illusions and which is the mesmer (watch the movement). i usually run with mango pie because its cheap, but when kitten hits the fan i use +40 condi duration and master tuning crystal, thats a load of condition damage.
since they nerfed ferocity (and buffed shout healing) i dont think there is anything that can beat this build anymore, except maybe a full zerker hammer / gs warrior or a skull cracker. build is in my signature, though i changed it around a bit and not really updating the thread anymore with precise instructions. pm me ingame for tipps or info.
hint: the key to 1v1 is NOT damage in the first place. other classes got a lot more escapes and “tricks” then warrior, the key to winning 1v1 and 1v2 is survivabiltiy, sustain and control (heal, cleanse, toughness, cripple & immo). this can only be achieved by condition bunker builds.
im strictly talking wvw here though. in spvp this is not true.

Excellent guild with a calm, mature raid leader. They have been around forever and know their business. Also one of the few guilds who dont mind to raid on home borderland and manage picking tough fights without disregard for the PPT. With the Rerolled guys on the map you will never be outgunned, only outmanned as we say in Gunnars
I’ve been wanting to try this gear forever, but how to obtain it? I’m a casual WvW roamer who doesnt want to grind out dungeons or any kind od PVE content (well not for dozens of hours at least). I may be kitten d to craft to 400 if thats the way to go, prices on TP seem ridiculous?
Why celestial? Because biggest amount of stats. With a balanced build all stats add to your overall performance, the warrior has an awesome combination of hybrid weapons (sword/horn/longbow) and with the nerf to crit damage you can afford going a bit lighter on the defense.

to fix the immobilize bug use a leap / teleport skill.
to fix the grey-out weapon bug .. take medium falling damage (so you fall on your face).
any class with protection out-“armors” a warrior. id rather have all classes have easy access to swiftness like warrior warhorn/elite.
why are you not specced for 1v1 as a roamer? :P spvp hotjoin.. not really, its mini zerg fest.. the 5v5 is ok once you feel confident but its also no 1v1.. but there are duel arenas – go there when you feel confident and you can learn a few things ^^ maybe you have seen old videos.. there isnt much of anything-goes anymore when it comes to 1v1.. use meta build or get rickrolled :P and yeah practice.. all needs to happen automatic, you just use 1 eye to watch your buff / debuff bar and 1 eye to follow enemy – pulling combos, stacking might, dodge dangerous skills – all needs to be on autopilot. one thing maybe that a lot of people dont use is territory to their advantage. against ranged classes you can block their line of sight, against melees you can outmanouver them with well timed dodges / leaps / jumps if you are under pressure. but yeah getting good as 1v1 is all about 1. meta build 2. know all classes and their skills 3. training training training.. some people have been duelling for 1.5 years now

As season ends soon and the ridiculous amount of Gems needed to transfer to our small and cozy server will be lowered, this might be a good time to consider a future on GH. We are very friendly with guild groups and are looking to attract more hardcore wvw guilds and players to at least keep our position in the ladder because we like it a lot in mid silver (we have climbed up from T8).
We still have a comparably strong primetime (small queue on EB and home borderland) and still lack players at very late night to midday. We have a very consistent turnout even if we are losing because we have a lot of wvw-focused guilds who run every evening no matter how hard the matchup. Also we are famous for a lot of roamers and smallscale fighters and usually get 33-36% of our score from other stuff then structures.
At the moment we could easily provide no queues for another 80ish-120 players in primetime. We will see some people returning to GH after season ends because the lower amount of gems needed to transfer and are hoping to also see a few new faces or even guild groups.

every warrior build for WvW needs 1h sword just because of mobility – only exception is GS users. there might be better power weapons (though not condition) once you are fighting because the burst does very meh damage and immobilize where you are up front is only half good.. but if you dont use sword (or GS) you cannot decide which fights you want to pick and which not. so yeah not much choice there. for your build i would rethink the shield choice because the shield bash isnt a very good skill for your build (you dont need to set up heavy bursts and i think the stun is not long enough for final thrust?) and the block well.. its only the block. for wvw i would pick a warhorn for constant swiftness and versatility (weakness to lower incoming power damage and cleansing of soft CC even untraited). or if you are looking for the interrupt maybe try offhand mace for a good ranged knockdown and additional vulnerability. personally i cant live without perma swiftness. gunnars greetings

i use it on my duel build aswell.. just saying. no better offhand to shut down a power build.. no better offhand to shut down condi builds aswell. its underrated, not underpowered. the only problem with it is you need the 20 points in tactics and that means shout build or terrible build xD but as a weapon its awesome. i would bet most people ditch it because it doesnt have damage skills, so did i early in the game.. but since i’ve been using it and learned it i have never put it aside and always miss its versatility when im not using it, nvm the lack of swiftness without warhorn.

I’ve been standing in Gendarren Fields for 2 hours without moving and didnt die to conditions – clearly this food is not a problem. On a serious note the food is OP by itself, but its simply ridiculously OP if compared to OTHER FOOD. Its almost like built-in perma-weakness to a power build. People stacking it with melandru & traits are IMMUNE to soft CC.. i mean wtf… just because im not condi based doesnt mean i dont need my cripples and immobilize to work..

warhorn is most underrated warrior weapon.. shuts down power builds with weakness, gives perma aoe swiftness, turns conditions into boons.. cures immobilize and cripple.. gives vigor.. short cooldowns.. what more do you need?
when im bored of my condi bunker i switch to full zerker shout healing warrior 1h sword/wh/GS .. plays like a zerker but has all the advantages of a shout build (condi cleanse, sustain). + mad mobility.
What’s your opinion on condition-meta specced solo roamers that are otherwise completely useless to their server, but like to target and single out group-play specced folks running back to their guild / zerg?
if it was only us solo roamers no commanders, no organized groups… wvw would be AWESOME
but some scrubs who cant hold themselves in a fight need to gang up to overpower others.. so guilds and zerg emerged. was a lot more fun in the early days. basically like now when there is no commander – except the enemy didnt have a commander either, coordination was only on map chat, everyone did wtf they wanted and it was one big kitten y fun for everyone.
yeah someone tell that dude to bring the golem mastery already.. seriously, would wvw be any better if the devs wrote more? xD everytime they write some major thing like NEW MAP WVW! im like.. omgosh cool anet rocks they listem to the players and bring them contents.. then i check it out and see its just another karma zerg fest champ farm train thing.. actually whatever kind of content they make. few exceptions like queens champion thing (best thing in gw2 ever and i usually only do wvw!) and the ruins in regular wvw maps (nobody gives a kitten about them).. so i like the devs to shut up because the stuff they make doesnt need words on top (its so good)!

they dont want to fix the coverage issue (wvw collaborative development) because the way it is everyone is trying to get more people in wvw all day because of coverage and manpower issues and thats obv good for their game. about making wvw better i dont expect nothing from them in general, about the only thing i trust they get done for wvw at some point are fixing the lag issues.. even if it is only with making so many players quit the maps arent full anymore.

1h sword: torment
horn: stacking condi damage
longbow: earth and doom
condition builds are for solo roaming or roaming in very very small groups. as soon as some aoe cleansing comes together in an organised group or big zerg all condis are a nonfactor and power damage is the game. in 1v1 condition builds dominate power builds as a rule because very seldom someone actually has enough cleanse to sustain themselves. only a few builds can load up enough clease to persist against, say, a perplexity engi in a 1v1.
yes to everything you wrote. im one of those who switched to condi bunker just because of thieves. there is broken design and then there is so badly broken design you want to rip your hair out. thief is definately in the 2nd category.

If i could afford it my beast warrior would run full ascended celestial with shout healing, soldier runes, 0 0 20 30 20, sword/horn & longbow. that baby would kill anything.
proper shout healing condition bunker only loses against thieves.. rest of the scrub classes dont have enough damage OR mobility
Cant kill decent eles and some engis will be occasional suprise – but die 1v1.. never! (except against thieves >.<)

Remove all supply on leaving a wvw map – be it change maps or to logout. That will teach zone blobs .. no more rushing straight to lord with 4 superior rams on every gate.. having to supply up the whole of the zerg will give another 2-5 minutes for the defenders to respond.

I agree with this, but i would switch out Drakkar and AG – AG might even come out on top of GH, depends on their offpeak militia.
its already impossible to clean all the conditions from a full condi build (necro, mesmer, engi, even thief) even when stacking every single condi cleanse available to warrior. i agree that people should die to conditions if they have no cleanses in their build.. but currently the condition meta is madness.. and im saying this as a warrior with soldier runes, shout spec, cleansing ire, shake it off & traited warhorn.. i built all this just so i dont die to every condi class out there using sigil of torment, runes of perlexity and all that bullkitten on top of their normal condi build. and even with all these cleanses there are some builds that put so many conditions on me i have to abort fighting asap and run away.

Our WvW population doesnt increase a lot during league, its always the same dawgs.. so while we will be able to put up a decent fight in primetime (almost full) – offpeak will kill our ranking for sure. Still.. looking forward to meeting some servers we havent seen in a while

100% crit chance without precision? power stacking cavalier rifle warrior coming at you soon!
tbh the only warrior build which can consistently win a 1v2 against semi decent players is mace/shield & GS zerker melandru/poultry. Condi bunker might survive more, but you’ll never win a 1v2 if your opponents arent braindead or upscaled. same goes for hammer, its a good impact weapon in zerg but wont win you a 1v2 or even a 1v1 against a decent opponent.

Just to let you know the status of our beloved server Gunnar’s Hold:
Currently we have no queues all week long (except EB sometimes), not even on reset! So despite still punching hard (Ranked 11th atm) we have a lot of room for potential transfers.
During league we will see an increase to population playing WvW, but less then on other servers, so in short: We will probably have very manageable queues during League and still be a worthy opponent in Silver League.
