They did mention that sometime near the next 6 months mark for the game. There was talk about making more weapon options availible to more classes to add diversity to those classes and then they said something about how ideally they would want all classes to use all classes but they didn’t know how viable that would be. You know how Anet is with their big dreams xD
I will see if I can find it =P
I’m very interested about what happens to the ascended jewels with MF in them. Will the stat be replaced? Will the other stats be buffed? Or maybe we get to pick another item. I know I have a fractal back with 5% mf
I think the problem is that some of the temporary stuff is stuff that people want to keep playing. I personally don’t see why you wouldn’t want to keep a “Boss Rush” year round so people could be constantly challenging themselves and testing out new builds to see what they like. It would be great for the game.
I think they have learned enough to make it work. They have watched the game develop and know what it needs. The only crazy thing would be all the new skill people would have to learn but I don’t think that is too when done over time.
Just please not all at once xD
From a post on mmorpg.com based on a conversation with Colin:
“the team is also working very kitten finding a way to make it so that every profession has access to every weapon and their own weapon skills for those previously locked weapons. Engineer plus Hammer? Check. Again, there’s no specific timeline for this, but a new progression system is coming.”
Edit: LOL at the kitten…
I can’t thank you enough for linking this =o I can’t believe they said EVERY weapon! That seems like a bold process. It could be more manageable if it’s done one weapon at a time >.>
That is exciting to hear. I think a lot of classes have gaps in their abilities that different weapons could easily fill
After reading the blog post, do you think that they will introduce new weapon options for our classes? Or do you think the new skills will be limited to only utility and elite skills. I know I have been hoping for something with cleave for my necromancer for a while now.
I just saw that there is a new content and am a little worried that with my vacation I wont have time to finish up everything. Does anyone know if Anet said anything about how long we will have?
I am hoping it was because they didn’t want to change too much. I like some of the changes like the well cooldowns, but this was a big one on my list. Most necros use the staff so freeing up 10 points would free up more build diversity I think
With all of the trait merging happening, is anyone else a little disappointed that they chose not to merge the larger marks with 20% staff cooldown? It seemed like a good opertunity to free up 10 points that alot of necros would use towards other traits.
Is anyone else a little disappointing about this missed opportunity?
It’s a good thing I was born the Legendary Super Player
I know what they are =P But doesn’t sound reasonable that they would base the design of some of these dragon minions on dragons that are currently in the world! I have yet to see a dragon like this =)
I was just looking at the screenshots when I saw something that made me very excited. Could this be some sort of wind/air dragon!?

Glad to know other people are digging in the original for great ideas =) The only thing they would have to work out is how that would work in WvW. Unless it’s meant to be an anti zerg >.<
Omg I just had a great idea. Bring back disease! A condition that is contagious to those that come in contact with the infected person >.< Can you even imagine what kinda damage that could do to an unorganized team!?
I think it’s a good thing as long as it is something that only necros can do. I personally would like a condition that either stacks intensely, or has a unique feature.
I could also live with a parasitic bond >.>
Is this really a problem? I’m a guild wars 1/2 necro and I don’t really see a problem. Then again that might be because I was a rare blood spiker/vamp spirit tank after the skill revamp. The necro in gw2 feels nice. They didn’t give us a whole lot off life steal but thankfully they gave us a rather large life pool to play with instead. I don’t think the mesmer in any way matches that. Necros are fun! And they can only go up from here!
That being said, mesmers are alot of fun too. I couldn’t get into them in the first game, but the mesmer is my secondary class. It’s damage output is boss and some of the trollish things it can do are just amazing. They are a little glass though, but I dont mind.
Both classes are equally awesome and useful =)
Alright. Let me just start by saying that I am a necro main so I am very used to being able to survive and CC most fights. With that said I have spent way too much time perfecting that class and have been searching for other places in the game to use other classes.
This brings me to WvW with the mesmer. I have played the class a lot and understand how it’s played but seem to be stuck with my Zerker gear. I really like the damage output of the gear but if I am committing to more mes than I want something with a bit more survivability. Right now what I am thinking is either Knights or soldiers with my old Zerker jewels.
These are the weapons and skill that I use and are unlikely to change.
Greatsword, Sword/focus
Feedback, blink, portal
Can you help me out ohhh wise mesmer community.
In one round we all should bring MM builds. I think that would be really entertaining to watch xD
^Now that sells it xD Looks like I will have to brush off my pvp gear.

1200 range would be too much. The scepter range, along with everything else on it, feels right. I get that the fighting something in a longer range could be frustrating but if you use your staff or DS chill/fear as a set up you can easily get them in range. Once they are there you can use the cripple to keep them there.
But hey.. just for fun.. GIVE THE NECRO AXE FROSTBITE!! How awesome would that be >.>
I don’t believe that there is a cap on condition damage. Only condition duration can be capped.
As far as carrior gear is concerned, I highly recommend it. It has the power to deal a decent base damage while keeping your condi damage high. The extra vitality is great and it adds a little more life force for you to play with. Very good when trying to escape an enemy zerg. I use staff and scepter/dagger and both damage wells for AoE vuln and boon removal. Great for tagging of dealing alot of damage in camps and big fights. From someone who doesn’t like to commit to a full zerker or rampager on the necro, I think you will like how it feels.
I’m running under the assumption that you wouldn’t go out into WvW with a full inventory again. I mean your right next to a merchant and a repair guy when you rez back.
I don’t think you can really go wrong in PvE with a necro. The only thing I would suggest is to always have a staff on you because the power of that thing that to hit multiple targets is just great. I like to go and buff the staff with larger marks, 20% cooldown, and a mark on dodge to use it to the fullest. If your playing with your friends it also makes a great tag weapon.
Enjoy the necro
This does feel like a small problem. You could raise the level cap but I think that would only favor the people with a large amount of alts like me. I run it with 9 characters for 36 bubbles a day. This can be done very casually and it equals 2 skins every 3 days. That seems a little too easy to me.
What should be done, and I think they have already mentioned it, is to have a different system for the reward. I mean you shouldn’t be rewarded for blindly running a path. There is no skill involved in that at all. If a player wants to farm bubbles, they should have to really earn it.
And you know why they’re stronger than you?
Because people like you dont pull your part and rally those who fell.OOH PRETTY SHINY BAG, Screw you dying comrade go rez yourself
Actually it is the people who stay on the ground dead and wait for a rez in a sea of red that aren’t helping the wipe. If they are just downed then people will throw out a shield and get them back up but others have no business staying on the ground for that long when they can rez up for another surge. The only time where I would argue against this is if you are in the middle of taking a high priority target and your far away from spawn. Even then though, the commanders will let you know if you want to rez or respawn.
They fact is.. Looting a bag takes less than a second. You can do it in the middle of an intense fight without having another thought. Hell you can just double tap f and loot then rez someone. It’s a time priority. People work hard for every kill and they should get their equal chance for badges. I dont think I have once heard and in game complaint that looting a bag takes too long. That is what autoloot is for.
I have been thinking this from day 1! I really like the axe, but I never stick with it for too long. The range feels a bit limiting for what it does. That and a boost on the auto attack would really do wonders for the weapon. Anet knows the axe is not working and hopefully changes like this will fix it.
I am headed toward Frostfang. I even got some HOTW armor to match the look and a whole chill build I am excited about! Works great in pvp at least.
Bring on the FREEZE!!
Why just one new playable class? In guild wars they would release 2 additional classes with each campaign.
I think Loot should remain number 1 on the list. When you are in a huge party like WvW or when playing with massive NPCs you could easily lose out on loot because there are too many dead bodies everywhere. I turn mine to auto and make sure I pick up everything really fast before the mass rez.
You are aware in WVWVW loot bag spawns at your feet and pressing F when that happens SINCE THERE IS NOTHING ELSE that F would do will Loot.
If there is a person trying to RALLY again pressing F would immediately RALLY them, allowing another member to get back in the fight and produce more enemy corpses AKA loot bags at your feet
You sir, must have never been hit by a zerg xD In Tier 2 the zergs are strong and when people start dropping, it means their zerg is stronger. So you quickly loot your bags while kiting the zerg and hope you avoid enough CC and AoE to survive it. Rezing is a luxury of the numbers.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I think adding class achievements would be amazing. Not only would it help people learn their class, I think it might encourage players to try out other classes for the bump in points.
The objectives dont even have to to be that specific. Anet could start off simple like adding in things specific to certain class like using you death shroud, or shatters. Later on the could add in some harder things that may be more challenging.
I was wondering if there was any way of obtaining a skin form a different order than the one I have already joined. There is one skin I need in order to complete my look but I can seem to buy it because I did the wrong order.
Maybe Anet trusts you to moderate you chocolate cake intake? An honors system!
Wait.. no.. we exploit everything in this game >.<
Wait.. no.. we exploit everything in this game >.<We do need more fun content and mini games like promised at release though. Still waiting on that polymock xD
8 bit armor skin sets..
Who else was thinking it? I know it never come true because of the resources and time it would take, but it’s good to dream high!
You do realize that I am in no way judging his play style right? I’m saying that like people should play the way they want to play and have the freedom to do so. Playing your way is a big part of the Guild Wars 2 design philosophy. I personally dont care how any of you play. I like variety. Variety makes a well rounded game. Hardcore stuff comes out too it just takes more time. People are just impatient.
What I WAS saying was the remark in the first post. “I want to play Guild wars 2. Please spend your resources on content for that game.” That’s claiming that this new content is not part of the game because it doesn’t fit HIS play style. Not only that I think that such a comment is insulting to dev that spent alot of time and care to make something new for us. We all should be happy about about new content every month. It is amazing. People need to just wait their turn and not call out anet for not developing what they want. Try seeing their perspective. They do silly things every april’s fools and this is by far the greatest. It’s their own silly holiday that they love and I am glad they went over the top with it.
I think the high demand is mostly a responce to the lack of an amazing jumping puzzle. SAB fills alot of those players needs. Hopefully this is a sign of more mini games to come in the future. It’s those little things that truely set games apart.
You become a hater when you ask not to make content that alot of people enjoy. Its a retro jumping puzzel and it affects your game in no way. Mine as well ask them to remove wvw because it is taking away frome dungeons right? Don’t ask for something removed because it took dev power. That is just rediculous.
This game is nothing like mario.. It is however a hell of alot like The Legend of Zelda <3 And stop complaining about variety in this game. If you don’t like it, move on. There happen to be ALOT of people supporting this thing right now. We like it because it’s fun and it give us a nice little break from the seriousness of some of the in game world (( Like the haters xD ))
More worlds PLEASE!! Love you Anet <3
I’m not sure on how many people are experiencing this but I thought I would post something here just in case.
So I was doing a little brawling in LA and I noticed that whenever I used my witch broom 4 skill ((The invulnerable one)) and come out it kicks me out of my town’s cloths and displays my weapons skills. I still remain in costume brawl too. After testing this out I also found out that using anything that changes your skills like cannons will set you to your weapon skills when you exit them.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Does this sound like a very well planned April’s fools day joke to anyone? I have played guildwars for a long time and this totally sounds like something they would do xD
This is a strange thread. I thought the necro staff was what people loved most about the class! I know it was what drew me in. Now I play the necro like it’s my job =) I mean AoE bleeds/party regen, AoE poison and chill, AoE condi TRANSFER/blast finisher, and AoE fear <3. I almost always have 20 in death magic for larger marks and a lower staff recharge >.> It’s a beautiful weapon! And ohhhhh yeah.. Boss black scythe animation <.<
If there is anything that needs to be improved on the staff it’s the fact that the projectile moves so darn slow. And to add on the the mockery.. The animation sound is so loud I can clearly hear it from my friends computer in the other room over everything else in combat. Might be Anet trolling us.. IDK
I feel like if you really want to go for dungeons, condition damage could be a very friendly source of damage for you. A lot of dungeon fights require you to stay at a decent range and all of our power weapons put us kinda close to bosses. It’s not as spiky as the direct damage, but the damage is constant and with Epidemic and well placed makes you really can tear through a crowd.
I have NEVER seen a party require a set amount of achievement points. If someone asks for that, the best bet would be to leave because these people are clearly not playing the game right and will pick apart everything a person does.
Now yes new players will always be a little behind, but it’s like that in every game. In the original guildwars I missed my first halloween event so I never got the boss pumpkin head. But I didn’t get upset over it. The people who were there earned it. All I could do was make the best of my time and do everything after that.
With all the stuff they are working on now, I am sure more options for achievement points will be available soon. WvW is a good example of that if you read the updated release notes. There will be tons of opportunities to make more.
P.s. I don’t think Anet will be repeating Holiday events. They are trying to create an evolving world so even if we see the mad king again, it might be under different circumstances.
Halloween and Winters day were also missable achievements.. Should we take those away as well? In my game life I have only missed 2 of my dailies and I for one think that’s a great achievement. Alot of people put in some hard work to make sure they got those points so it seems illogical to take those points away from them.
I was just wondering what effect Daylight savings times was going to have on the daily reset time. I do remember the daily time being at around 8 when the game started so do you believe that the it will switch back?
I noticed this problem alot when I was playing the map last night. I think it’s mostly that moves that send you that far off make you drop the orb, which is what RTL SHOULD DO. It really takes away from the skill of the map when they have an auto score at the top of the stairs that can not be defended against.
For now one thing that I have found works when you get those annoying eles on the enemy team is to go at them full force at the or to make sure they can’t grab. I’m a necro with a tanky guardian at my back and we can usually lock out the enemy to grab the orb and run it before it becomes a problem with a decent control of the alter.
I also don’t agree with replacing the skills because it will make all orb runners the same. I love orb running as a necro because I have a good buffer HP for when I get jumped at the stairs and need to call some help. The amount of CCs I can pull out and the ever amazing plauge for blinding ability really annoys my enemies. I know other class feel proud of their helpful skills too. It just needs a bit of balances with these quick ground traveling skills!
I like the fact that things are scaling better, but I don’t believe the champs are really needed. If you want to scale events you shouldn’t be adding one boss in there, you should be adding more vets!
The problem with champs is that they do this roflcopter ever squishy in the area and make the rest of us constantly rez them. I can’t even tell you how many dead bodies I have seen in orr. This necro has seen enough death for one day!
I think with vets you get the added HP and attack without making things annoying and less rewarding. It would feel much more like a difficult dungeon, rather than Anet laughing at us behind their screens -.-
