I just use my completely revamped keybinds (esdf for movement, skills around it and on mouse), it´s not that confusing when jumping between games really. If it is, just bind the movement in those games to other things aswell. Correcting few keybinds and getting used to them is far easier than getting used to whole new layout.

If you´re with decent guild, most of your healing will not come from eles themselves, it´s from the blasts in waters they provide, guardians etc. And as healing power has really really bad returns, i wouldn´t go that route.
With a random zerg yea, sounds fine. Dps approach would propably be more beneficial but any single thing is pretty darn hard to measure in such a chaotic situation.
Small scale healing starts to get more potent as there´s less damage output from enemy compared to giant zerg, but still my personal opinion is that healing power gives too little return for the amount of investment to be worth it.
When soloing you can´t kill anything with that little damage output, but on the brightside you propably won´t die 1v1…ever…maybe you can bore the kitten out of your opponent?
All in all just remember, that even if you don´t have any healing power, you´ll still be healing for a lot. What little extra healing power gives is in my mind overshadowed by the amount of offense you´re losing.

I think drake’s breath and cone of cold also have no target limitations, but I am not sure
Each tick can only hit 5 players, players can change tick to tick though.
glyph of storms in fire and FGS #5 fire storm hits, umm well I say atleast 10. Possibly unlimited. They are exellent way to get yourself killed by Retaliation.

Ring of fire burns everyone passing, and staff e5 hits everything between you and the target. Gust hits everything in a really narrow line. Auras activate on everyone hitting you.

I agree, Zelhyn. This is perhaps one of the absolute worst ways to look at group content, and is the exact reason why PUGing often turns out so badly. “No one can see what I’m doing, so it doesn’t matter what I do as long as I can leech off the group” is what I read from this.
PUG runs turn bad when people don´t either know how to play their class or are ignorant of encounters mechanics, and nobody instructs them (swearing in all caps is not instructing).
The game is built so that no matter your gear, no matter your traits, if you have any knowledge of how to play your class and the dungeon etc you´re in, you will contribute.

Gw2 pve is so kitten easy that what he said is true. Casual player does not need to care overly much about how minmaxed his build is. As long as he can decently play his character, he could as well throw trait points around randomly and wear any gear he happened to find.

Maxed out chill duration and staff in wvw is delicious.
Throw a frozen ground on em and it´s like they´ve stopped moving, well 5 of em atleast.
If they can´t dodge out of it in time they´ll have 10+ seconds of chill even if they run max -condition duration, up to 20+ if not.

I chase 20 – 40 man zergs in wvw with dd spec. And they can’t kill me.

You see people have this funny misconception that the 20-40 guys actualy care about the lone hero buzzing around them.
Chances are those 20-40 guys are heading somewhere to do something, they aren´t there to gank one lonely guy. The chances are even greater if those 20-40 guys mostly have single guild tag.

You support by ccing mobs so your party doesn´t get steamrolled, and then you drop waterfields your other team mates can blast (provided that they´ve actualy grasped the concept of blast finishers) to keep the “only deeps matter” people alive. If they´re doing fine on their own you drop some fire fields+finsihers and listen them gloat about their damage because those 25 stacks of might are obviosuly all from theirselves.
Also note how nothing above gets significant improvement from healing power, so drop that idea right away.

Most significant heals any ele can do come from water 15 trait and EA anyway, weapon skills are really poor for actualy healing they provide, and best part of them really is the waterfields that can be finished.
Staff is a teamplay weapon, you should be keeping your team alive with cc and provide fields to finish (extra deeps from might, heals from waters etc), while dealing some sustained damage at the same time.
If this was about what type of gear you should be looking for, go as glassy as you can while still being abel to survive. Healing power gear is not worth it in my opinion, too low returns for the amount you have to invest.

So in two weeks (of which about half the dailies were “Do any old Boss event”, not Tequatl specific and even so needed only participation not success) none of the above posters could manage 4 “Boss Week” dailies? No BEHE, no Maw, no getting into an overflow and failing Tequatl? None of you deserve those horrid wings then, sorry.

And mind you, some people really dislike those events, doing them only when they have to.
And then there´s the part of people who only got to play at the end of the 2 weeks.

You should blame yourself. I got my wings 3 days after update and it didn’t take longer than 2 hours. Things never end well when you wait for the last possible moment to finish them. If you had no chance to log in is another story of course – all you can do is HOOORAY another temporary content I missed!
You don’t even get the point. Some people don’t have the time to finish this crap after 3 days. Some people can only play a few hours per week and I can understand if they spend that time on some other stuff than get wrecked by tequatl because overflows can’t handle him.
It just doesn’t make sense that there is no daily when the meta is still active.

Actually I think it’s you who don’t get the point. Boss week was very easy to complete, even with few hours per week. You didn’t even have to see Tequatl to finish it.

My estimation is that it´s 40 seconds to be on par with guradian one so that the rule of every ele skill has to be ~50% kittentier than it´s counterpart on other profession stays true, just that it´s the duration that´s subpar this time, not the cd.

Why are people upset about it being changed to Line of Warding?
It´s ok change.
But then when you start to think how they could´ve done it differently.
Why knockback instead of knockdown? Knockdown would synergise air GM trait, one that´s not really used that much.
Why no damage component? Even a tiniest amount of damage would make it possible to use the skill to trigger on hit/crit effects.
…and then there´s that some of us appreciate soft cc more than hard cc (can be circumvented with stability, stun breaks, using your eyes)

We wanted to ‘spoiler’ a couple of patch notes early, so here they are:Glacial Heart: This trait now delivers an area strike on the target it activates on, damaging and chilling up to 5 enemies in a 180 radius.
Transfusion: This trait now scales with healing power at a 20% rate, where it didn’t previously scale.
Unsteady Ground: This skill no longer damages or cripples enemies. It will now prevent foes from crossing the area, knocking them back a short distance. Lasts for 3 seconds.
Roy and I are scheduled to stream on October 11th where we’ll go over a few more features and adjustments that you’ll see on the mid-october update. Be sure to tune in and check it out!

I actually love the new zone… I just hate the buff. The buff itself is terrible and killing WvW. The servers we were up against just gave up, and there were no fights at all. We had to call our raid 3 hours early, because after the 10th keep flip, it just becomes boring.

It´s becoming increasingly clear to me that we aren´t the target audience for wvw. And by we i mean organised wvw guilds.
First the set of tools we get to work with is very inadequate. Only tool we have for organising is the commander marker and target crosshair.
Commander tag attracts puggies from across the map to one spot, and a zerg forms, when we only wanted to play as a guild. Not only that, but the tag itself isn´t all that visible in combat and all the functionality it brings is pretty much non-existant. Extra chat channel means nothing when you already have guild channel, and supply info is useless since people often need to be in several places at once, running supply, scouting, etc.
Target crosshair is just a general pve tool, but most guilds have gotten a lot of mileage out of it in wvw too, since thank god you can target allies. How ever the target calling could be so much more had it actualy been intended for wvw use. Where´s secondary and tertiary targets? Why can´t we target a spot in the ground etc.
This lack of tools leads me to believe that wvw was not meant to be for organised groups in the first place.
Then there´s the gear issues.
At first there was practicaly no way of gaining any proper gear from wvw. Only much later did they add some of the stat combos into wvw vendors, and even now there´s a lot of them missing. Ascended gear itself goes against what most people would consider good pvp experience, but in addition it´s so much more difficult to obtain set of ascended through wvw than it´s through any other way that it´s not even funny anymore.
And then there was the ridiculous bundle items people used to be able to use in wvw.
Lack of rewards also doesn´t seem to make any sense, unless you consider wvw as an extension of pve. If it was just that, there couldn´t be any rewards that made people go away from pve lest they spread their player too thin, and ther wouldn´t be any need either as people would play pve for their rewards.
Waht this makes it look like is that wvw always was, is still and proabyl will be just an extension of pve, nothing serious, just a time killer between dragons.
The balance.
Most of balancing has been done with spvp in mind. Very few changes have been around wvw use of skills, and even less have promoted organised play. Makes sense if wvw was never meant to be anything serious.
Wxp. Progression bar to fill for pve players. And the rewards seem to be thrown together overnight. 2,5k health from points? 250 stat points in vitality, that´s your weapons, chest piece and amulet combined with vit as minor stat. Not only that, it´s all character bound. Makes sense for pve stuff, doesn´t make sense for pvp stuff.
Orb buffs, empower the pve people, gives them warm and fuzzy feelings if you will. Pvp guilds don´t want it, duelers don´t want it, roamers don´t want it…but enough of that, more than plenty of threads about this already.
Sooo….most things make it look like wvw is nothing but a time sink for pve crowd, extension of pve, nothing serious, nothing organised, an aftertought.
Seems Anet doesn´t realise what kind of raw jewel of open world pvp they have in their hands, and they just keep chipping away from it…i really hope something makes them see things from new perspective, and maybe they´ll start polishing this jewel instead.
But for now, sorry guys, seems we´re not the target audience. So…. no, it wouldn´t help even if the guilds quit.

I´d just like to point out that rock solid doesn´t break stun, it just prevents anything being added on you.
You get stunned and swap to earth, you´re still stunned.

Just a small point about buff being active on every map.
It´s frustrating.
Why is it frustrating? Because you have no control how the other BLs work, basicly even if you do amazingly well, keep the buff from enemy and such, they can still have double your bonus, without you being able to do anything about it.
People will deal with just about anything as long as they know they can do/could´ve done something to prevent it, but if they have no direct control over something, it frustrates them.
Why does such a basic design flaw even get into a live build candidate is beyond me, please fix.

Doing so would invalidate the time people spend acquiring that gear. I think the heart of your post is in the right place, but what we would rather do is make possible for people to get the gear by playing WvW with a sprinkling of PvE, rather than the other way around.

However, what ever resources you have left to invest in vitality and toughness, go by the law of balance. As an Elementalist, first get 7500 health or healing, then add vitality and toughness in about the same proportion.
I believe a nude elementalist at 80 starts with 10300 health

Few things i have trouble with.
Bonuses
150 all stats at max? Have you not learned from orbs? Reason people hated the orbs wasn´t because of how easy they were to exploit, it was because of ridiculous power increase they gave. It´s still going to be the same reason why people will dislike the bloodlust.
When you go against zone blob buffed to the max, you won´t feel happy. But the thing is, if you go against enem while fully buffed yourself, you aren´t going to be any happier when you know you´ve had such a big advantage against them, one you couldn´t do anything about either.
How you keep the bonuses,
even if you lose the capture points. This makes it far too easy for any one person to prevent the buff from being captured, especialy with the speed those things uncap. Server doesn´t need to keep those points under control, nope, it´s enough that there´s one bunker running between them providing enough time for the blob to come and secure the whole thing.
Yes, this won´t discourage blobbing, throwing your full server through the middle will be the fastest way of getting the buff, and then it´s easy to stall it from being transferred to other server long enough for another pass for blob.
Basicly whoever holds the middle first (read, server with most coverage) will have ridiculous advantage when it comes to holding the buff.
where the points are located
Seems nice enough that they are in an easily reachable area, right in the middle. Unfortunantely, they are indeed close for everyone. including blobs. Most big forces will regularly pass through the middle even now when there´s nothing there, when there´s a big juicy buff on the plate the place will be flushed with swarm of people pretty much every other minute, keeping the buff well and secured to the biggest blob out there.
Captured everyhting already? Well go and sit on the middle, keeping the buff well secured and be really close to everything should anything be attacked.
Stomping
Who can stomp in combat? Well roamers for one, it does reward them, small groups, definately. Anyone fighting a big zerg? Not a kittening chance. When you´re wading through red tags, it´s near death sentence to stop. Where as the zerglings can quite comfortably just stop and stomp to their hearts content (if they have enough time from the accidental deeps they land on the downed player). But who would it penalize if all form of killing got the points? Well roamers get their points all the same, as do smaller groups. Zergs get the point just as they would with stomps, but anyone fighting those big blobs would allso rake in points, a lot of them.
not being able to disable the bonus
It´s just beyond ridiculous that you aren´t allowed to make a decision on this. There is absolutely no reason why people shouldn´t be able to disable this. Anyone who cares about point per tick will have it enabled, anyone who cares about the bonus stats will have it enabled, people who don´t want those things for a reason or another (and ther´s a lot of reasons why they wouldn´t want them) don´t, but you´re forcing them to do it. They would want to play a game they bought the way they feel is most rewarding, but you´re going to say, nope we´re going to make you play our way, no matter what. Are you afraid people won´t feel obligated to hold the buff? They will, most of them and thus will feel rewarded for capping it. But if you don´t allow people who don´t want the buff to disable it, i can guarantee there will be unsatisfied players who wanted a fair(er) fight. Disgruntled map chats will be had, leading to very confused and annoyed people, which really isn´t going to make them enjoy the game any more. If on the other hand those people could´ve disabled their buffs nothing would´ve happened.
Are you afraid most people wont´use the buff? Maybe you should think about the buff itself then. Is it a technical limitation? We can wait untill you can get around that, just be a tiniest bit more transparent and tell us. Do you not have enough time to tweak it? See earlier.
If the reason really is that it´s not part of your vision for wvw to be able to disabe the buff, well it might be time you start revising that vision.
All in all this whole thing feels like you´re making us play the game your way no matter what, you´re going to make us like siege wars, ppt, stomps and blobbing even if we don´t want it.

What i´d like to know is if this is
“No, it won´t be in because we´re working 25 hours a day with our horribly understaffed wvw team to even get this update live”
Or if it is.
“No, it won´t be in because it doesn´t fit the image we have about our game mode”
Which just shows how clueless they are when it comes to wvw and it´s potential.

0/0/20/20/30 or 0/0/20/30/20 is good when you have team that can supply you fury and swiftness.
Full boonduration runes. Aim for 2,5k armor, 14-15k hp is enough.
