Like others have said, this skill is on a long cooldown when we first get downed. We can’t use it for like 10 seconds so you have plenty of time to kill us.
Our other downed skills are completely useless so no, you can’t nerf this one.

Been running a similar build for a few months, same stats but my traits are totally different:
I have just been trying Faux’s RRR build but I much prefer this one. The one thing that has taught me is that you really don’t need the points in BM, not for wvw. Put it into Power instead.
To the person who said they think conditions would do more damage – no way in in hell. The power+precision of this build does way more damage, a lot faster.

My problem with the clerics build is that it has no precision, and I dont see the point of going for direct damage without crit dmg/%.
I was running 25/25/20/0/0 with 350 in healing which is great for dueling. But I want to be able to survive small groups as well.

@Faux – keen to hear your thoughts on this build:
In particular his comments that too many ppl run condition removal/reduction in T1, so Apothecary won’t do enough damage.
Do you perceive that as a problem?

If you expect that other MMOs won’t nerf obviously OP builds, you’d be wrong. There are probably more non-elementalists ready to leave the game because of the nerf build than eles who are leaving because their build was nerfed.
I’d rather inconvenience one profession than all the others.

Agree with the sentiment of the OP but I don’t think your suggested fix would do anything. Dungeons would still be the most profitable things you can do, and thus the fastest way to a legendary.
The real question is why are legendaries the only end game content worth going for? Once you get it you will stop playing.

Sounds like everyone who doesn’t want duels is basing it on the implementation of dueling that they have seen in other games, which frankly sounds nothing like what most people actually want.
I for one would like an arena’d instance, pretty much exactly like the GW1 random arenas, but with a 1v1 option.

This stupid forum logged me out while posting and ate my post.
1. Each server gets their own borderland that reflects that server’s name. Dragonbrand actually is in the Dragonbrand, Maguuma actually is in the Maguuma jungle. These are released over a period of eight months to cover the eight tiers.
2. Three new “neutral” borderlands are added (for a total of four) in the same time-frame. These maps are different from other maps in that they clearly favour the owners.
4. A new EB is added every four months and changes weekly.
5. Once 2/3 of the new maps are in place, map rotation begins with the team that comes in third each week being placed one of the four “neutral” maps. In this way, even if the same three servers are fighting each other week after week there is still variety.
Yes, I am well aware of the massive amount of work involved, but this game is meant to last for years, is it not? People are already bored of the borderlands. We need variety and the more variety the better.

At minimum I would like to see better use of the space in the existing BL maps. The skill point areas are a total waste. Put more camps/towers there instead. And more choke points would be great. Something to defend. Maybe just another gate, that can slow down a zerg a bit more before they get to the northern camps.

I agree with the OP, I was expecting more. IMO the wasted space, particularly in borderlands, should be a top priority. But that hope was shot down a few days before the update when one of the staff said that there would not be map updates for a long time.
I was also hoping that the scoring would be tweaked. There should be instant points awarded for objectives to make it feel like your efforts mean something. It would also give smaller worlds a chance to bridge the points gap against superior numbers by having roamers earn points even if they can’t take towers.
I was also hoping for the low level mats to be removed. Why on earth are they even there, everyone is scaled to 80? Should only be level 80 mats, particularly food. I don’t want to play PvE to have to WvW.

I agree with Oto, zerging a yak, shouldn’t provide more points than a solo player slapping it. I also think that a small % increase should be given for the roamers when they cap sentries and camps. For instance Supply Camps PPT are 5, then why not provide an instant +5 points to the servers score if its capped by 5 or fewer players +3 for 5-10 players and none for any more than 10.
A similar thing could be worked for defending an area. Today we had 10 invaders attacking Klovan, Im generally by myself so I shout on map chat that I need 5 or so players to come to Klovan to help me wipe the group attacking it…. no one comes and the group destroy’s the cannons/oil. I continue to shout that I need a few ppl come to help wipe, 30 seconds later our entire EB zerg comes and wipes them 70-80 ppl to wipe 10 players. Pathetic really.
Why not lower the reward for a successful defence of a tower by a zerg, but double it for say less than 10 players, likewise with camps and such.
I’m not saying these are great ideas, but the community needs to help the developers come up with creative solutions to stop the 70 – 80 zergs and promote the 15-20 man groups relieving seiges.

IMO enemy groups of 25+ should show on the maps. Large moving groups should have some disadvantages but nothing terribly game breaking.
I think that could be game breaking though. Zergs would either constantly run into each other. Or continuously avoid each other.
Besides roamers currently have a role in scouting zergs. That system works fine.

I run a condition ranger build and I love it
IMO it’s hard for rangers to run away from huge zergs as we really have no escaping skills
No one can run away from huge zergs except for thieves. Rangers have great escaping skills in lightening reflexes, Sword #2 and GS #3. Swoop has saved my life many times by using it to escape small melee’s I am losing.

@OP – Pick up a greatsword. Or you could also… you know…. learn what your classes strengths and weaknesses are in regards to the ranged weapons. cough ranged support cough

I run sb/gs and rarely lose a 1v1 in T2. I used to think rangers were weak but the more I learn and refine my build the more I realised they are balanced. They are just VERY hard to learn.

For zerker build this is a bad patch, but ranger zerkers were already weak so who cares.
I switched to sb/gs a few weeks ago so I am loving the shorter GS cooldowns.
