almost 2 months have passed. I am JUST able to understand Dismay in TS and now you are all shopping around. I left DR for a little more than a week and tested out a few servers with another guild I know. I liked Dr.

We’ve grown in population which means that we are going to need more and more non zergers. Trends take a while to catch on, and once we move up, and catch a beating with our current WvW format we are bound to lose lots of pink hats.

You’ve endured the days of not having the man power to defend the northern part of the DRB. You have endured the worst that the lowest of the low will go through. Everything we face now is growth. numbers, skill, tactics, communication. Your head is in far too good a place to leave a place where you are needed.

pretty fun weekend.

With the Holiday season it’s hard to sit and jam with absolute dedication. A lot of my weekend was filled with time out kicks. So, I spent most of the weekend floating around from here to there lending help at SM when needed and playing around towers.

I found myself fighting small and fairly equal numbers in pockets of resistance along the north west and the South on the eastern edges of our territory.

There was a pretty fun battle that took place around Spelding. it started off as a few K taking the camp and working their way to Anz, while it was being beat on from across the lake at Mendon.

Genghis and a few others were working Outlook and helped with the treb. We fell into Anz, to defend and began pushing the small group back towards Speld. We thought we had a win, rushed out to clean up and found their forces grew. We retreated, defended and soon enough our forces grew enough that we could force them back to Spel and shift the direction of the fight towards getting/ defending Spel.

When we first started digging into Spel there were only 2 or 3 people left from Red team, that we could see. They kept at bay until they had matching numbers. What they didnt see was the surprise we had waiting for them at the camp. as soon as the middle sized zerg moved in to take us, we shredded them in two with some hidden siege.

Naturally they returned, and this time with a tenacious mesmer. They rushed the camp with much more aggression. The final battle That I was there for ended up with 4 solid pushes coming out of the red team. The Mesmer got one additional helper and once our siege was out of play, we began to get melted. so many red circles on the ground.

I had to afk for a bit, but when I returned, Red was still working us over at the camp, and there were still a few hold outs who had gotten another piece of siege up.

what a great way to spend some time.

This all came to a head when K decided to show the rest of us that you/they/whoever all can’t get along and since then it’s been this pathetic thrashing back and forth in an attempt to show the rest who sucks the most. It’s got a humorous side to it too, it’s unfortunate that it results in people who are trying very hard to appear great look like little girls crying over dolls.

Just to point out the obvious, this thread is becoming absolutely full of straw men arguments. There’s a lot of rationalizing according to assumption, and frankly it’s just silly. You’re seeing the situation one way because you feel justified with that view, and your opponents choose to interpret everything in a different manner because they feel it’s substantial.

As an experiment, look at the image Yermoh linked of the Dev attack on Garr. It’s just above here on this page a few posts up. Go ahead and look, and think about what you see.

Did you notice all the red names? Of course you did. But did you also see the incredibly diverse guild tags? You see a few mainstays like GASM and PRO, but do you normally associate all the other guild tags with Wv3 groups?

Now ask yourself what kind of conclusions you can draw from this. If the only thing you can come up with is a result that verifies your earlier conclusions and can’t justify another, less condescending point of view, then you’ve failed the thought experiment.

If you read my post, i was referencing the guilds and players that joined DR, after PRO. Which means the screenshot you are referencing reinforces my point, not invalidates it.

Except it doesn’t, because you’re assuming they’re guilds that transferred in. The idea that they’re largely PvE guild members or players who have been on the server for months and just decided to Wv3 a bit or even recently got into it either didn’t occur to you, or you quickly dismissed it. You are making assumptions and running away with them, and that is bad form for an argument.

I posted something on this exact happening some time ago. DR had lots and lots of lowbies leveling up, and still now, lots of lowbies.

Late Yesterday afternoon and into the early evening a few of us in SoCo and RGTG decided to go play in Fergs, there were only about 5-7 of us ( this is not counting stragglers and passers by who would stop to play and move on.) we were on and off, back and forth for a fair number of hours and I am fairly certain that we each had a great time.

Realistically, the ongoing back and forth between Ferg and DR was filled with lots of small fights with the occasional Zerg sweeping through on both sides. A DR zeg would spill into the map, hit Green, and head East, almost every time. Shortly after a clean up zerg would pass though from Ferg and stop to fight us at the tower.

It’s Ferg and they defend with pride. Nobody ever expected to to stay for long with a small group of 5 to 7, and whatever pick-ups that were willing to stay as the zerg pulled away. but we got the tower a few times, and we had a few fun battles.

Pick-ups would come and go, zergs would pass, and we would get sent to the spawn time and again. we would take a breather, let the map settle and go back out. We weren’t changing the face of the fight. We weren’t attempting to lay claim to credit and props. We felt like going out and having a little fun without it having to be anything more or less.

We had fun, and I hope that the folks who took part in removing us time and again had fun as well.

You couldn’t be more wrong. if you knew anything about things of this nature you would know that the Lion Voltron is vastly superior to the Vehicle version. And for you to choose the Vehicle version over the Lion Voltron only tells me you are only capable of more colossal mistakes. For example: Why would the weaker of the two Voltrons recruit A mega-Zord as a tag team partner rather the most powerful combining power of all time ( After the lion Voltron) Devistator!

This combination looks powerful enough to win the week, but when you compare other options that seem to have been simply dismissed.. I think you have a very long way to come in the realm of 80’s robot combat.

I am going to be serious for a moment, mainly because when I joke, I get email from the forum gestapo.

It’s unfortunate, what has evolved this match. Normally the server pride thing, to me, is amped up light RP. But this weeks events makes me feel for K and whats left of it. It also leaves me a bit let down that a forum that was filled with friendly banter has turned into some strange kitten squirt off.

I also am not sure where I can go for some fun PvP where it’s just about some fun.

Good news is that Dev now has zero reason to target us. But they probably will anyway.

I certainly hope it doesn’t turn into a point that you are forced back into your spawn points. DR was there with you when FERG :p and Borlis would make it hard to even keep the north most camp and one tower. Those weren’t fun times. I said I hope. Realistically ..

I kind of feel there may be more reason to attack K, for some. Speaking as an observer, two of K’s 3 more respected guilds are leaving. There are people on Fern and K who enjoy fighting them, who respect them, and appreciate what type of competition they brought to the table in both PvP and Guild/Server representation. I do.

I think it’s fairly safe to assume that there are people who don’t dislike K as a whole because of these guilds. With two of them leaving, I feel like the server has become a whole heck of a lot less likable. To many more I think your server suddenly appears to be much less of a threat, that alone will attract rats.

Personally, I will cry for increased pressure on Ferg, They have good numbers and offer fantastic fights. K looks to me as if it’s a beaten dog beneath the hail. Not that much fun in breaking a broken dog. Perhaps kick it a few times and let it remember.

I know there are smaller guilds out there in K who are also good sports, but much like my guild, you and we fly under the radar. We are rarely the source of drama, nor are we often recognized for the good we do. That’s the price we pay for being a bit smaller. I think it also offers it’s own rewards. I mean no disrespect to you fine smaller families out there, I simply can name you all. My suggestion to you is, play nice. With iSpy and WAR gone, your guild name may be easier to remember for some, it’s your time to shine.

I have always enjoyed looking into a small group of red and seeing WAR and iSpy. Watching that red group rapidly work it’s way towards me, run me over, have 6 people drop flags in my chest and keep on wrecking.

I have always considered WAR, iSpy, and noQQ to be the teams K sent in when, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, and the rest of the Expendables gang were too busy killing droves and droves of Asian’s. personally, I have never seen any type of poor sportsman ship from them, and I can’t recall seeing much childish cry baby behavior from them on the forums either. I’m bummed.

I wish you all didn’t hate DR, I would feel honored to share a field with you guys. Leaving the shallow end of the pool is also a bit saddening. I know that servers are falling towards the last tier, and it seems almost inevitable that this will force a move for one and maybe two servers to go up.

I can’t celebrate that type of a victory. I don’t want to look bigger because things around me got smaller, I want to get bigger and beat on the things that were once larger than I. DR isn’t at a point that it doesn’t need good people, smart players and team mates.

One last comment: If you know #1 spot is locked in…the most heated fight’s i’d think would be for the #2 slot. That being said…to boost your overall rating and maintain #2 would be simple, focus on the other server, not DR. DR can/will take and hold what it can, will lost stuff throughout the day/night. But it’d be more advantageous for Kain/Ferg to go at it tooth n nail in their BLs or wherever they see the other to minimize the other servers points. Attacking DR isnt going to accomplish that. DR can pretty much maintain DR BL and chunk of EB on a regular basis. Thats bout all the Wv3 population we got. That being said, that leaves Ferg/Kain BLs wide open for either of you 2 to take/hold the other. Maximize long term point spread, minimize the others! Just a thought.

I don’t think Number one is a lock. Well, maybe this week. But last week we had a hard run to catch up. we were about mid match before we took lead. First isn’t a Lock. I feel that Blue and Red beating on Green from multiple points gets them both closer to first than fighting each other and exhausting resources that should be spent on defending the largest threat.

If Blue and Red are only able to mass 3 full fledged Zerg/large fighting units. if one or even two are defending Green and they are not sending that 3rd unit to fight each other you can have Green fighting at 6 points. when it comes time to worry about the 3 way battle for first, the server with the better plan will take it.

ATM from this POV it doesn’t look like K can’t right themselves, there is some pretty powerful animosity that’s surfaced, and it seems almost like there has been a bit of strife on the server for some time. This only weakens the server and if you can’t keep it together in house you wont do any type of, “unspoken understanding”, any justice. The way Ferg is running their show, they can pull away and take second by allowing you to drown yourself this week.

Man, wth is going on inside K? ..To be a fly on the wall… It’s incredibly difficult to pass up on a, " You should have rolled DR", joke. A few guilds decided they wanted to PvE the slightly less than fresh new content, after what I am reading to be a moral breaking week – Randomly? .. at the same time…

I don’t doubt people want to PvE to get PvP gear, and see the new content and what ever the political answers are. It just seems a bit odd that a few guilds did it at the same time, and literally announced it within hours of each other.

I read a lot of posts in this thread that sound very much like a number of you are teetering on calling out specific guilds or people. I can’t help but wonder if this is a “See how well you do without us, then maybe you will listen” type of response.

It’s kinda lame in more ways than one. There are a few guilds in K I really hope to still see out there. Big wins, crushing losses, stalemates and skin of the teeth moments are always fun when with some of you.

Aint that the truth! iSpy and WAR were everywhere. I went afk to go to the bathroom and a thief from iSpy jumped out of my shower at me.

Before that a zerg of WAR, iSpy had their way with me in uncomfortable ways. it was so bad that two guys held my hand in a circle while a third used it as an additional orifice.

but, I will admit, I am let down that a whole zerg of K Alt-F4’d during a rendering bug so I when they rendered they were already gone, making it seem perhaps I had made it all up…

Well, given the rankings of the past 4 weeks of November (since Nov 2nd), I’ll give DR 2 weeks until we change tiers. Unfortunately this seems to have as much to do as DR winning aa much as it does with GoM being dominated. From what I gather in the GoM WvW posts, they don’t have much of a chance of improving.

I am thinking more than 2 weeks. Mainly, because we (DR) had an influx of players a few weeks ago. we climbed from last place, in our tier, to first in 7 just days. At that point our weekly points were still under 900.

Last week after reset a pal from RGTG and I were chatting about weekend numbers and our increase was less than a point, from the week before. still a bit from 1k. I am thinking to get out we need to break 1100+/-

This weeks slow opener could be a few things:
I hear K has some new guilds (good for them) nice to see numbers up. I know for a fact I and a number of my friends have been doing PvE more while we are winning at such lengths. The PvP I did this weekend was on a level 15 alt, trying to grind up to level 30. AND it looks like K and Ferg decided that not attacking each other was a good idea. Combined, it’s pretty understandable why we were in last place when I logged off yesterday.

I’m not making excuses nor am I attempting to take away from the great weekend K and Ferg had. These are simply the observations of a silent minority. Honestly, I am happy when I look at the map and I see K and Ferg working on DR collectively. I am going to assume that despite how it appears, Ferg and K did not draft a formal treaty in which they are forbidden to partake in acts of violence against the other. I am radically suggesting they both may have decided DR would be easier to topple if it was getting assaulted from multiple points. what I will enjoy watching is what unfolds as each server gets withing winning distance of each other with just a day or two left in the match.

If you truly had as much of them as you claim, with your numbers, you’d have escaped the last tier weeks ago.

No, we require numbers to move up a tier, just like anyone else in this tier. If 2 servers stopped playing for a week, and one won by an outstanding landslide, I don’t believe that server would move up. because they would still be sitting below the 1100-ish points to move up and bring a server down.

And I agree not every victory is won because of outstanding leadership or clutch plays, but it is just as black and white to claim every victory is earned due to zerg tactics. I see plenty of zergs on all factions.

Not too many weeks ago, when SoS first reared its face , K was winning days due to the fact there was little resistance for them. once that had been slowed, griping about the same type of victory for DR is now in abundance.

I think it’s a bit pathetic for adults on all sides to lose to poorly. To constantly cry foul when something doesn’t work their way, even if what they are crying against was something they were part of not too long ago.

I was in the K keep in EB yesterday when DR took it around 3. it was a lot of fun. Lot’s of back and forth between K and DR. Not once did I ever think the other team was cheating. Crazy, right? the fight seemed legit. how insane, nobody was doing anything to cheat. I think I got an achievement for being in the first ever fair fight in this game.

We’ve become something similar to the old school American Colonies.. like… I dunno, the United Guilds of Kaineng or something. We are our own guilds(states), but we do not control each other, and there is no central head. But we work together because there is a greater evil out there. That evil is called Devona(britain).

Great weekend so far to everyone. It’s kind of nice to see us not in first, I just hope its because there was server growth in our competition and not because we lost people. Mainly because it means we are all continuing to grow and when one moves up, they stand a fighting chance up there as well.

Some ppl hate the “Zerg Karma/Experience Train” types… it does pull from current Map objectives… Yet, what it does do is build Loyality… It builds New Characters, and teaches new W3 palyers the Maps… those Commanders build a following of Future DR W3 fighters.. to Win in the Future… on higher tiers, we will need and be greatful for them… having said that… if your a Zerg Commander… you should answer the call when your whispered “Gate is at 20% plz bring the Zerg”…

Objective flip trains can serve a number of purposes. Excellent for gold, superb for leveling, and serve a good place to build comradery. They can also be used strategically. All purposes have a time when they are ideal. Knowing when that is what separates leaders from a true zerg.

Zerg is relative. Use numbers.

Thank you! We all win and lose together and it’s more enjoyable to experience either when surrounded by friends. Unless things drastically change, we will soon all be leaning on one and other fighting off two servers with superior numbers. It’s going to be an uphill fight to contend and animosity within our ranks can only cripple us.

Well there is Kaineng, or Fergeson’s Crossing. we are at the bottom, but that’s overall server population. and you won’t get “bandwagoned” if you come down the ranks. I’m pretty sure both servers have no queue times for the most part… if any only on one map during peak hours.

I actually popped in to promote Fergs and Kain as well. Both servers need population and both servers come equipped with good fighting force. Both Kain and Ferg have been brawling it out in the lower tier with DR for some time. Recently the WvW population on DR has exploded taking the competitive feeling out of our smaller, scrappier tier. Both servers are not only in need of a few more good guilds, they are both deserving.

If ever there was a legitimate uphill battle at your feet, waiting for a few more good people to help the cause, this is it. If you are looking to join a match where you are part of something a little bit bigger than making yourself look righteous You are being told by their opposition this is a place to consider.

I normally am on Yorgy, or Rumblestrip depending on what type of support i need to give my peeps. I am about 90% positive I have added you and a few other pro members to my friends list for communications down the road. I’m not so good with names so without seeing my friends list, I cant be sure.

I don’t do very much PvE outside of Guildies, so I can only speak for my WvW interactions.
Normally I run with members of RGTG and, on Occasion, members of Dark, I consider them my closest allies.

…but.. I have been along side a decent number of pro members and I have noticed that we didn’t even need to speak. we just worked as a group. When you are out there killing, defending, and running in 6 different directions putting out fires, you come to appreciate the players who are on the right page without even having to be told where to turn to. I see this with pro on a regular basis. and it’s “no names” it’s not the people on the forums. I enjoy that.

It’s not just pro, its lots of players from lots of guilds. But, I’m kinda defending pro here.

Personally, quoted person, I would try to ignore them as much as possible if they are bothering you that much. There are a lot of great players in a lot of great guilds on DR. like them or not, they are on our team and there will be points when you are going to need to work with some of them. when those moments are a success, you will enjoy them more.

Sorry, recently we had guilds from higher ranking servers transfer to DR and destroyed the fun we had in WvW. Landslide PvE siege victories are dull and boring. Kinda hoping we move up a bracket so we get murdered by hardcore servers to lose moral and fall back down.

mm, not quite that ugly, but I am looking forward to moving up getting beat on and seeing who stays and who jumps. Thats when we will see how well DR does at defending and not waltzing zergs through maps.

The server was growing. not shrinking. before your guild moved over we were at High population. we were at high population about a week or two before K won. There were transfers and lots of lowbies on the way up.

I hail from Devona’s Rest and I think we are best known for the small bakeries we set up in redbriar and greenlake. The morning coffee is excellent and the croissants are to die for.

Normally around lunch time you can get a pretty kitten good ham and cheese on a french roll. It’s been pretty successful thus far. Rumor has it that our server is about to begin accepting WvW tokens as payment at our 3rd location, atop the EB jump puzzle.

if you haven’t had the deliciousness of a DR baked good, then you might as well be fighting hungry and tired. .. in the cold beating rain.

Hats off to Ferg, no doubts there. An amazing defense and an even more impressive display of teamwork. I’m Envious. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. doesn’t matter, you guys got a very big win this week. You over came the “number game” with outstanding success, imo.

Congratulations Chris, for getting out there and seemingly turning around the mindset of a server packed with people who almost gave up. Props to the folks who stepped up and supported Chris, I know he didn’t do it alone, there are a large number of guilds who fought tooth and nail to keep the boat afloat. And a heartfelt thank you to all those who gave up and came back to fight, without bitter excuses.

I disagree that there is no effort in going after Ferg, which is wrong. Then I stated a personal opinion. The fact I am somewhat tired of K and would, and do, enjoy seeing them eat dirt does not mean that I am in K and not Ferg.

If you read further into my post you will see why I like to fight ferg, and if you read back you will see further reasons, posted by me, that I enjoy Ferg.

Have I been in K? yes. just as I have been in Ferg. If K had a greeting party at its borders one fraction the size/skill/effectiveness of Ferg, K may be doing better.

I am inclined to disagree here. Being from DR, I can attest to the fact that Ferg has done an incredible job defending their borderlands from invaders. DR has attacked and Ferg responded multiple times. Granted, I feel like the general feeling on DR is to beat K into dust now. That bout of bad blood in this thread has settled in and many members of DR have taken the gloves off.

Fergs in-house communication must be amazing. AMAZING! and I don’t mean the kind of amazing that consists of A-team thinking they are the stars of the show and require their fannies to be polished. They respond pretty fast and with good numbers. The defense of Ferg is something that should be remembered. Look at their southern keeps and the Eyes crawling around the southern edge of the map. They came into this week with what appears to be a server wide plan, and stuck to it. Their efforts and team work are to be applauded and more importantly: Learned from.

They deserve some recognition.

I want to invade Ferg because I think that’s where you are going to get the best fights atm. Now I wonder how long it will be before K shows it’s true colors and attempts to invade Ferg at the same time as DR to weasel out of dead last.

man, what a bunch of awesome fighting last night. Some brawling in KBL, starting up little scuffles here and there in the North East. Tried to steer clear of the Zerg thing and just started small fights that lasted quite a long time with some really fun back and forth,

I recall some real great fights at the southern end of FBL as well. Love the defense that Ferg has been putting up. great place for a underdog battle (if you are invading)

Even EB had some great small battles for towers and keeps. Quite a bit of fight left in our match mates and for that I am thankful.

I few short weeks ago, DR slipped into last place with a higher population than K. K got some transfer relief at one point, I’m not too sure what happened with it.

DR has gotten transfers, but about a month ago I posted about all the lowbies I saw leveling up and predicted we would have greater numbers from that alone. DR’s numbers are up, that’s obvious but I think K and Ferg should be working us over, it’s possible.

Ferg has a good group of people locking down their borders. K and Ferg need to pick a map and give it hell. Force DR to send large numbers to two different locations on Their map. Whatever forces Ferg sends to K are wasted two fold. You will not get enough points to threaten DR weakening K. And you are weakening the only other force who can actually help you fight your true threat, DR. you weaken yourselves thinning out to fight K allowing DR to fight you somewhere they choose.

Don’t think of how you can win, think of how to make DR fall. if DR falls, then the race for first is on. Before that you are only fighting over last place.

Ferg and K can put a hurting on DR even at 5 to one Odds. You just need to pick those fights in the right place. out in the open, zerg vs zerg isnt it. behind and over walls is where you take DR out. Invade one piece at a time. hold it, build it and use it to start weakening your next target. It’s only Monday there is no need to rush on caps you cant hold.

Also, if you feel that it’s all numbers and ego pummeling you all into the cold hard ground, use your superior mind set to divide DR any way you can.

We came into this week with a plan, and that was to do our best to hold our map till the week starts, because we knew then we were going to lose most of it. If not, all. We’d have 30+ kain and 50+ devona in our map at the same exact time. And we still managed to hold throughout the weekend.

Yes you guys did! Man, Ferg defense was awesome. I’m envious. I really am. I would love to see DR do that. We better get to learning it, when we move we are going to have two servers looking to show us who’s the boss.

This is going to be a tough week for Kaineng and Ferguson because DR is everywhere… Can’t wait for the day when Devona is promoted up a tier.

Oh well, I should not complain about numbers as that’s just how WvWvW works. We simply have to work harder but it seems like everyone on Kaineng has already given up…

When we go up, someone comes down with similar numbers. They have more than likely been getting beat on pretty good for a few weeks. If you think this is a loss, wait a server full of angry beat-bags steps into a position where they can administer the beating. You think this thread has gone downhill? I’m willing to bet the next one starts somewhere near the bottom of a pothole.

K and Ferg should be ganging up on us. I’m not suggesting anyone start handing out gift cards to the enemy, or start coordinating against us ( or do , but know the lines of common sense and walk on them. Come at us together, with combined force. There doesn’t need to be a declaration drafted. You don’t even need to attack the same place at the same time. but you would both have an easier time getting off the ropes if you weren’t trying to punch each other as well, Enemy of my Enemy.

The South East of EB was ripe with combat all night and well into the morning. Fantastic back and fourth between the Forces of Good (us) and the Forces of Evil ( K ) .

Who from DR has intention of locking the south of DRB down after reset? I would like to hook up with those people. got some gold and would like to look at the map and not see our borderlands infested with K or Ferg colors after restart.

I’m going to shout out to [SoCo] as I’ve been funneling more of my guildies into their TS channel. It was a weeknight so we only had like 16ish people, 2 from my guild (the rest were stuck fighting Lupicus). We took Anzi, lost it, ninja’d it back, and swept all the way through to Mendons where we made a meat grinder of that place. Sadly we never got to /bow over the corpses of 100 kains, but we locked it down against the small (15-20) man groups that popped their noses in.

Idk what their plans are but you may see a VERY GOOD commander by the name of Lilj come from that guild. She wipes faces, murders things with red names, and eats raw steaks for giggles. Can’t wait to see where those guys take this.

Oh…to all 3 servers. Doesnt matter what the points say…YOU ALL WIN in my book! Some darn nice battles/sieges/scuffles across all the maps i was on. Awesome teamwork/coordination by DR commanders and non commanders that just took charge. Kain/Ferg you both dealt some crushing blows to DR and seemed like every fight i was in was a down and dirty fight to win.

Props to everyone on all 3 servers who got involved this week in WvWvW.

(now, lets do it again next week =)

I enjoy reading posts that give props to the whole. WE all know of the larger guilds who run with us on our maps. They are hard to miss. But when you zoom out and look around, and ignore your(generally speaking) guilds tag you see a number of guilds out there who are seemingly “unknown” Yet, there they are with the more known members of our community. Taking towers, keeps, camps, and ressing the fallen.

I had high hopes that out community would develop into a server full of “we” instead of a server full of us’s and them’s. That mindset is what will help us hold on when we inevitably move up. when we eventually make that step up a tier, we are going to need some amazing teamwork to survive that first, massive leap into a 1k+ server tier.

I am incredibly happy to see our server beginning to congeal.
