Its bad, everyone knows that. It will get better after the 28th, then the new battle will be with stagnation, which in my opinion is a whole new source of whining we are going to be hearing about. Imperfect system is imperfect, but other than completely revamping the basic concepts of server vs server vs server, it will never be even such that everyone is happy, and if it is, it will be pretty boring seeing the score be 50,000 50,000 50,000. I just wish for once, in just one single online game featuring pvp, wvw, whatever, that people could agree to not whine about absolutely everything.

I proposed this idea a long time ago and it got shot down pretty quick, but I’ll put it out there again. Why not a faction based set of borderlands completely unrelated to the greater wvw where people can just jump in and play on randomly distributed teams. Most of us don’t really care about the overall score, we jsut want to get in and have some fun. It could just be overflows on top of overflows as long as the numbers were equal.

Kain is a lower pop server with Ques on all four maps at reset this week, most servers can not say this even some of the Tier 1 servers.

Kain has a high WvW to PVE pop.

More people will move to them as they move up, any guild can move there without it taking a week to do.

Some guilds are going to be split up because of full servers, as it gets close to the 28th Kain will make sense to them.

Lol, every server T1 T2 and probably T3 is full queues on reset. Not counting SBI of course :p

Oh ya, and BG is tier 1 ready, the problem is SoR is killing the ratings because they are destroying SBI (4th) and TC (6th) at the same time. BG would have to overperform to stay in T1 and its just not happening with so many pick ups from JQ and SoS. What SoR does is anyone’s guess, but I will tell you right now, from a numbers/coverage perspective, they are better than BG was 2 weeks ago. I could really see them hitting T1 with a bang depending on where the fair weathers from BG land when they are forced to drop a tier, and ya, you know thats coming. BG/TC/FA is the most likely scenario for t2 in upcoming weeks.

If SoS lost its way, which frankly could happen, there’s no real way to know who would fill that void because pretty much every guild would jump ship to some place else immediately…and yes, even with a gem cost. They could land anywhere and change the tier landscape drastically. Also, I really dont believe Kain continues being a beast at t4. They will probably bring in more with success, but the minute they don’t wipe the field with their opponents we will get to find out if they are actually there to grow a successfull server, or ride the wave. Kudos to them if they do make it to T1, but I have a hard time imagining any of the tiers will look the same the day Kain actually makes it to t1. Also, I edited to add, I think JQ is just enjoying a point boost from a Euro guild [RG] that came for a week to fight [HB]. I’m not sure they have the intention of sticking around though, so you can’t count on the extra points. I could be wrong though, so don’t quote me on that!

The t2 matchup is horribly skewed for a couple reasons. SBI is a ghost so this is essentially a 1v1 between the new tier 1 SoR and TC. This means that TC can no longer rely on any sort of third server diversions on SoR bl so people log in there, get farmed at first tower then log out. The Sbi bl is worse, because not only is there a large force of SoR, but the few remaining Sbi forces also attack us because frankly we are easier right now, so people log out there too.

Tcbl had almost a 2 hr q because its the only bl we get a spawn defensive boost, so I’m sure this then leads to all SoR wanting to go there, because there’s just more fighting. Then there’s eb, which again is a 1v1 with TC and SoR trying to split Sbi towers while SoR holds sm quite permanently.

I have to think this is pretty crappy for everyone involved, though the fighting on tcbl is still kind of fun, but only if you enjoy very little property turning and full out defense 24/7 from and endless stream of SoR with like 20 new tags.

I’m not bitter though, it is what it is, as we are prone to saying. It’s just very hard to say where TC is. We are still hugely populated for pve which is awesome, but the bulk of our militia is just doing other things that are more fun.

Running around solo in SBI BL, so if you see a crazy Norn jump out while your chatting with your 5 friends around a camp, you know its me! Beware Commander Teddy!

I can imagine that when SBI finds its tier, its going to be the “go to” place for people to join up and learn how to wvw from vets who have been to Tier 1 and know all the tricks. Honorable people, good wvwers, and I think the one’s remaining have proved their loyalty! I endorse this message! For the Isle!

I don’t know how they could have done it better, its just one mistake layered on another after another, but it does show in my mind that Anet really doesn’t factor the concerns of its wvwers into any of its decision making processes. I hate it because I really enjoy GW2, so I’m a sucker and stick around despite that, but sooner or later they are going to trample on my enjoyment one too many times.

With the announcement and subsequent long wait til the 28th, it has become incredibly clear that many tiers are now completely inbalanced, with many servers that should be either higher or lower than the tier they are in destroying or being destroyed by their competition. While the current rating system will adjust and catch up, it will take many weeks for servers to either slide down, or inch up to be where they belong.

I would recommend that on the 28th, we start over. Have a play off system of 48 hr matches to once again find out where every server now belongs so that we can try to get through this as a community of people who enjoy wvw without losing people in the process. Whether you are on a winning server or not, I’m sure you can agree that the worst thing that can happen is to have people quit because of obvious imbalances caused by a pretty game breaking decision to announce an actual date when free transfers end. Also, with so much new stuff coming, we wan’t everyone on equal footing to enjoy the changes.

I make a point to try to hit the gate at least once, both outer and inner. For all i know that doesn’t even matter, but since i started I havent missed any.

Welcome to the new Tier 2! Despite the greater BS going on on all fronts, I’m still having fun on SoRBL, good fights. Here’s your update:

I like the idea of guilds that travel from one server to another in search of battles with other specific guilds, or even the concept of a band of mercenaries being hired to fight for a server, but sadly, I don’t think this is the game it would work in. The amount required to transfer servers, the hurt feelings by people vested on all servers involved, and the reality that people are just really cheap with their gold and don’t care enough means it will have to happen some where else.

Here’s a final score from the last one, and a reminder that the final score may not show it one week from now, but TC always brings it reset night, and you better bring your best stuff for NA PRIMETIMEEEEEEE!

Good Fights, its rare you actually catch a strong attack like that and really have the opportunity to use every last bit of siege and supply to defend, thanks for the fun!

Welcome to T2 [Hel], or I guess the new T2 since you were previously here i guess? I hope you are ready for lots of zombie attacks ;P I expect all tiers to be crazy until the 28th, then a couple weeks as the system rights itself, but the one good thing about an opponent with a huge lead is there is more time for Yak parades, dueling, and other hyjinx. If you can’t be gracious during defeat, you will never truly savor victory! And anyways, its still a pretty close matchup for second!

Untill free transfers are a thing of the past, server rankings will always be boosted by the pitfalls of confidence and fear. Jedahs knows quite well the virtue of playing a psychological game over simply a video game battle, and I can’t help but smirk at the smirk he must wear nightly. I spoke not as someone who cares what happens, but as someone generally surprised at the reaction to those who roll their eyes at playing for second. Third place is a lot harder spot to be in than second week after week.

Anyways, things will change greatly on the 28th, as we all know, and it remains to be seen how that will shuffle or stagnate the ebb and flow of server rankings. Will people pay to bandwagon? They might.

Ratings are trivial. BG is number 3 and can only go up by being number 2 or number 1. You make JQ softer by never removing your foot from their necks. You push them even when they are the harder target because when SoS sees JQ being pushed, they are forced to push too, truly making them the softer target. Next JQ wonders if they are the victims of the 2v1 when you ignore SoS’s growing point total to smash them harder. Then how does JQ react to losing their easy number 2 spot? That remains to be seen. Not many servers just casually accept being knocked from 2 to 3 and start to wonder if they aren’t really headed to number 4.

You should visit the Tarnished Coast Community website and try to be a bigger part in the bigger picture. WvW is as big or as small as you want it to be, but if your complaints are quite simply the system, well there’s nothing I or we can do to change that, only Anet can. Most of us play the game as it, not the game we want it to be inside our heads, and if you don’t enjoy that, then nothing we can say or inform you of will change your mind. Its just possible that you will be happier after the February patch, or would prefer to just spend your time playing a different game. Either way, TC will be there for you when you decide!

BG shoud be fighting for second place. Any third place team that is new to a bracket that isn’t clawing and fighting for any success they can get would be foolish. If I played for BG I’d be squeezing the crap out of JQ at all hours because the best way to change the horizon of the T1 landscape is to first take JQ out of the picture. I have no horse in this race, but I do see things shaking up soon.

I don’t think we have seen any huge guild transfers and yet Wow!, we are really benefiting from people just joining up alone or with friends! This is of course great as all our amazing wvw guilds swell and start to boil over the borderlands! I think we all know we need Oceanic for T1, but if you just want to have fun in wvw right now, this is the place to be. Noone welcomes new people to world v. world like we do and you will instantly be involved in exciting Tier 2 quality combat/tactics the moment your queue pops! See you in game!

In rift we had great battles around dragons on the pvp servers. But honestly, if your going to make a post about what we want, take the time to get to know us each personally and find out the things that make us truly happy, otherwise we are going to have to vote you out of office and hire a new representative.

Rangers are alot of fun and I love mine, but honestly, if you are the type of person who wants to dominate with little or no resistance, do yourself a favor and go D/D ele or any thief. We are not free kills by any means, but bad players playing any class are generally easier to kill than good players playing a class they enjoy.

I wear power/vit/toughness and have a build with Lbow/Sbow that lets me work fine in zerg v zerg, group v group, or even 2’s. 1v1’s at best I can survive but wvw isn’t a dueler’s arena, its a team game. But hey, you wanna buff me, sure I’ll take it.
