Jumping puzzles we’re put into WvW for a reason. They are not PvE. Ever notice the player controlled traps at the top? If you want to do Jumping Puzzles without fear of dying, I reckon you have about 35 options in the mainland where the only death is caused from missing a jump.

Your server is nothing like Tarnished Coast. Your issue is one of perception not facts.

I transferred to the Coast about 6 weeks ago and have never regretted it. As a newbie, the lower level zones are full all the time with true new players, veterans playing alts, and higher level players downleveled for Map Completion in pursuit of their Legendaries. Our Orr zones are full of groups farming karma, leveling, and even clearing the temples regularly. If you need a dungeon simply port to the entrance and find tons of LFG msgs in chat, or just sit in Lion’s Arch and get your Fractals done too.

Where TC really excells though, is the World V. World. The odd mesh of amazing WvW guilds with roleplaying WvW guilds and just people looking for fun makes for a refreshing change in map and team chat. People want to succeed, even when it means guarding a camp for an hour or supporting a Dolyak. When you follow a Commander his squad is going to let you know what you’re doing and what you’re goals are so you feel part of the group, not just a hanger on hoping not to die.

As others have said, TC takes a little dedication to join because we are already spilling over with great people, but if you really want to join just be patient and you will get in. I think it took me 3 days of watching before I finally made it.

Color rotation is the obvious answer and if someone can find a reason why they have to be set week after week I’d be really surprised. I have a feeling we will see this in february or sooner.

I don’t agree at all. I think the only way this system works is if free transfers are carried on and servers allowed to die and be reborn. I know some of you get attached to a server and its community and think its the worst possible thing when your server loses tiers and you feel like its dying, but at the same time, there is another fair weather destination server that is benefiting and moving up.

If you honestly believe that the same person that wants to leave your server for another because of WvW inbalances will instead stick around and continue to play while unhappy, you are just wrong. People who don’t transfer will either quit, or find a way to pay the price. Noone is going to spend their valuable free time unhappy, and either should you.

I guess I’ll return the favor and say Yak’s Bend! In the early days of the first week of Yaks/FA/TC matchup, when it was still somewhat even, I once asked one of my commanders in mumble why we spend so much time in FA and not Yaks. His answer was quite simply “The Yaks defend really well.” I didn’t understand it at the time till we finally did get a chance to hit their map and saw the dedication to defense of homeland. I was very impressed.

Their good spirit makes them a destination server for anyone looking to find a good wvw server in the lower tiers to ride up to the top. Keep it up Yaks!

Spvp is a completely different universe for a reason, it wasn’t done on accident. People who pvp in mmos want an even playing field, and the only way to do that is standardized gear that doesn’t rely on pve progression. Granted, I could care less, but you will find the PvP community to be picky about rather odd things when it comes to percieved “fairness.” Lord have mercy if you should die to someone who isn’t more skilled than you.

I want to nominate the Tarnished Coast Militia. On alot of servers, the elite WvW guilds run the show and the “pugs,” as they call them, either get in line or get out of the way, but not our crew. The TC militia is always quick to respond either on their own, or while being led with a bag full of supplies, siege and yes, tons of GOLEMS. TC wouldn’t be T2 without that great community.

I support this message. Yaks Bend is where any sensible player from TC wants to either retire or vacation!

I believe…..its 3 points for every yak killed, but 5 points if a yak makes it to its destination. So each yak killed is like an 8 point swing.

Perception is reality. I believe they do care, the way any business cares about losing a single customer. But when they put the happiness of one fraction of their customer base over the rest, they are essentially saying we had to choose, and we didn’t choose you. February is a really long time away, not for perks and wvw updates, but simple issues like hacking, culling, and a fairly simplistic ranking system that does the basic minimum with little room for flexibility.

If they don’t care about WvW enough now to quickly respond and make changes, then should we assume some time in the future they will simply start caring more? Not likely. PvE Events are the priority, and for some odd reason I don’t understand, Spvp is too.

One thing we shouldn’t do, ever, is simply be quiet. The squeeky wheel does get the grease, and as an WvW enjoyer, you have every right to expect the same prompt fixes that someone who is stuck in a wall in Orr would want. When people stop complaining despite any attention, its not because they suddenly got happy, its because they left.

Hacking/cheating/exploiting isn’t one server’s issue, its every server’s issue. We had alot of honerable fighting last night of which [ICoa] featured prominently and I feel confident they will attempt to handle the matter the same way we would. Lets just hope Anet can shuffle their priorties a bit and fix some WvW issues rather than forcing us to police ourselves and then get heavily infracted for it. No matter what competitive enterprise you are engaged in, when cheating is allowed to fester and go on, it chases honest people away and destroys the product. Get on it Anet, you are dropping the ball.

Also, I’m sure Blackgate and Toast got hit just as bad, and you all know me well enough that I don’t smack talk of make excuses. I know for a fact SoR is missing 45-50% of our force. At least in CDS I have nearly half of my hardcore members traveling, because we’re all old farts (a lot of members are 30+) with children, and theyre missing most of this match. Which sucks, because Toast are proving to be helluva opponents so far!

I truly look forward to next reset when all 3 of us have our full fighting force in the field! Prepare for server lag

Great Fighting in CDBL tonight. We got to see alot of GoF and I can tell CD that you are lucky to have gotten them!

While I don’t support anyone exploiting, they did admit to it and their explanation did make some sense in the mind of a Carebear with a srs case of ‘NEEDZ NOW!!’ I think so many people miss the point of the legendary…a reward for participating in every aspect of the game…If you couldn’t get those PoI its because you simply didn’t care to try. We have have had that tower 2 to 3 times a day this week. Legendaries are srs bsns, just like wvw huh? Don’t expect people to be understanding next time.

Anet needs to fix the issue, and I for one am really dissapointed that WvW is such a low priority to them. I never played Guild Wars but I never once heard from anyone how great the PVE was, it was always the WvW. Why is the best part of that game such an after thought in this one?

Did I hear about another Dolyak Event! I really think more people should join DOLY. I for one have gotten used to fighting you guys and it would be cool to occasionally tap into a 3 server guild to talk about the battles some place other than this heavily moderated forum. Feel free to msg me for an invite, though im not the gleader, I think everyone can invite.

I won’t speak to the entirety of the match because we all know coverage wins points, but I do promise you that we will indeed bring it on reset night.

No offense meant but the truth is thief is just the focal target, and there is always a focal target, so if it was not thieves it would be the next item on the QQ train. If you enjoy the game you figure out a way around the parts that bother you, or you do not enjoy it enough to be bothered and just leave. The ‘reason’ you are leaving has nothing to do with what you are saying, because there will always be that ‘thing’ for those that look for it.

A million times this. I get killed by stealthed thieves now and then, guess what, I get killed by falling to my death more often cause I’m stupid. Should I quit because chatting and running is causing me repair bills?

I think TC is past blaming all of FA for the acts of a few exploiters that we all know happens on all three sides. Our goal is to just keep drawing attention to it because eventually the hammer will be dropped and you hate for new people who join these exploiter guilds without realizing it to get caught up in it.

The good news is, the same siege planted to stop it is pretty useful if a real group if invaders breaks down inner. Still, anet is dropping the ball on this and even if they are privately addressing the matter, not communicating on it is their downfall. They need a state of the union, so to speak, to let us W3ers know they are aggressively approaching this.

So we got a camp set up in Hills just to kill exploiters. I want to thank all the guilds involved who participated like [Echo] and [Obey]. They we’re extremely active in this endeavor and good fights were had by all, inside our keep, near the lord, with the walls and doors up.

Yeah, I die pretty frequently tbh haha, but its not such a bad thing dying in front of the zerg because you catch the rally!

Good Game in Tcbl FA! Really good fights going back and forth and I was really surprised with alot of the strategy I was seeing from you guys. Especially you guys [GODS].

It will be really interesting to see how you guys do in T3. Don’t underestimate CD and FA. I’m sure they will be out in force with the excitement of a new enemy.

Pretty sure anyone wvwing hard from TC right now is doing so simply because its fun, not to ensure us getting T2. Part of the reason its exciting is because we aren’t faking it. We really do fill up q’s with people who want to enjoy world v world so if we got there, it would just be normal routines for us. Once we are there, well that’s a different story. If we are losing will people still fill up those q’s for “fun?” I dont know!

I think we will do very well during NA primetime in T2. Whether or not we have an Oceanic Presence to score well enough to stay is unknown and actualy kind of unimportant to me since thats when I’m sleeping and I don’t care about the big score.

I’m not sure alot of people on other servers realize that if you don’t have the outmanned buff…you aren’t outmanned. And I’m sorry, but fighting valiantly to defend blue briar then giving up and logging out just after losing Bay in frustration isn’t our fault. If only 15 of you are in bay defending than I have 2 questions for you.
1) Where is everyone else on your borderland and 2) why aren’t all the groups you have in every other borderland helping you?

Everyone knows that TC, at this stage in the matchup, has more people, but pretending that we somehow double and triple your numbers on your own borderland is just stupidity. The mechanics simply don’t allow it. Either its even, near even, or outmanned and the second it is outmanned we win pretty quickly and leave.

By my own experience, FA is the only server in 6 weeks of matchups that actually loses people as you get closer to their Garrison. Most servers start stacking up to defend but you guys generally pick up the outmanned buff before we even get to the gate.

Your most organized guilds, and by this I mean GODS, ULTD, PRO, BT, seem to just prefer to fight on other borderlands, whereas our most organized guilds defend home first, then everywhere else second. This is exactly what turned the tide for us in the first matchup when things we’re pretty equal, and its the thing that everyone who jumps onto the TC ship notices the second they get here.

So yes, we outnumber you. Yes, we outpresence you. We would win against you at this point even if you changed your mind sets. But not once in all the matchups week after week have you guys ever blamed yourselves. Maybe everyone that actually gives a crap already left?

How about anet bans you for your own good. Tough love.

Lol, I’m cracking up so hard. I totally understand why someone would be upset if they only ever bought 1 gift and opened it and got a sweater hahaha.

This almost seems too obvious as a solution but I’m sure people will tell me why its a bad idea if it is.

All matchup tiers start exactly as they are right now.
Winner each week moves up a tier.
Loser each week moves down a tier.
Second place stays in the tier and fights the 2 new opponents.
Repeat next week.

Sbow, spam 1…..works really great and finds thieves before they find themselves.
