That last update was so one hour ago.

Despite the glacier like slowness of the system, when it does change its pretty exciting to see new servers move up and down. To see you guys in third place at the end of the week would really surprise me tbh because I just don’t see how T1 would have so much more coverage than you guys. If its just up to ability or knowledge of wvw tactics though, you guys are fine. Also, your success in t2 really swelled your numbers during NA to a pretty impressive level to match your Oceanic. Anyways, good luck!

Part of being a regular in Tarnished Coast’s battlegrounds is that we frequently get people new to WvW who have heard we are more patient than most and feel like checking it out. I remember my first night in WvW and I can tell you, it is very confusing.

If you actually make it to a commander without getting destroyed by thieves, you are usually told conflicting directions on when to take supply, when not to take supply, when to build and when not to build. If you are lucky enough to find a golem blueprint off a kill, there’s no instructions that say this isn’t a kick kitten fighting robot, but a boring door smasher that gets slowly dragged around the map to hit doors then pop immediately back to spawn.

My point is that so much of this can be solved by one person relaying some now common sense information to new people and offering to answer questions in tells if anyone needs it. Most people genuinely want to be helping rather than hurting, and if you are just clear on the best way to help and the reasons some things hurt, then you will be surprised how fast they start doing the right thing over the wrong.

Some servers value tenacity more than hubris.

You guys talk about rating too much. While the idea of “conquering” T2 and moving to T1 may drive alot of people, I know that TC is certainly not ready for that now, and if we ever get there, we will be a far different TC than we are today. This isn’t a bad thing, but what it means is that winning at this level this week is not up to me staying up extra late and giving a crap who I attack for fear TC’s rating may go down.

I’ve said it time and again, all I care about is winning the map I’m on. If that means holding redvale for 3 hours against SoR and BG then that’s my goal, and dernit , you aren’t going to get that camp without a fight. I like to think when PINK is on the field, you feel our presence and that’s all any one guild can possibly hope for in a 24/7 match up. Rating be kitten , because second place would be as huge a win as first in my book.

But that’s just me. I certainly don’t speak for the whole of TC or even the whole of PINK.

Who spends all their time in WvW?? Sometimes you gotta get out and do those Dragons! Being on a high population server has its benefits!

I ran into covergirl all the time in rift but we were both pretty unkillable as priests. Didn’t stop me from trying to smash her though.

What about two 12 hour wvw matches per day with 2 seperate scoring systems running simultaneously? You could be t2 am and t5 pm.

You remember how in the first Resident evil the zombies are sort of stupid and slow but on the second one they just kept getting smarter and faster and scarier! This is like Zombie Coast 2.

At least we both get to enjoy destroying SBI soon? :P

Yanno, I find it interesting, SoR, that you don’t seem to understand how much damage BG is doing to both of us. We have both been attacking Stonemist, true, and we’ve both broken through on different fronts… maybe not the inner gate on your end (As far as I know) but still…

So then why are you sending zerg forces at Ogrewatch? We’ve been trying to hold our forces back off you. Through a combined two-pronged assault we could probably be able to wipe out the forces in Stonemist Keep. Then of course fight each other for whoever ends up owning it in the end, yes, but still…

At this point I don’t care who has Stonemist as long as BG doesn’t still have it fortified and waypointed by tomorrow morning.

One Heck of an EPIC keep fight in SOR BL Garrison. I swear it was like, TC wave, BG wave, TC wave, BG, TC and BG, and a ton of lord Resurrection. I swear that was the most fun I’ve had yet ever defending 1 location.

That was soo much fun. Best fight we´ve had in weeks even though we lost in the end. 40 mins of non stop 3 way fighting.!

I’ve been saying this since I first watched a downed ele jump into the water and swim away. Its really ridiculous. I have an easier time getting people downed then I do actually killing them, and as a ranger, I have like zero opportunity to ever get away and live when I’m downed…unless im underwater I guess, and I’m pretty sure lick wounds is bugged.

Is it just me or half the time people post these smoking gun hacking shots I can’t even tell whats going on lol. I just stare at them trying to figure out who’s cheating.

1) Remove every downed ability that allows people to actually move from where they are laying as well as the ability for people to move while downed under water.

2) Fix the longstanding exploitave entraces to the side keeps, disable and track those using third party game hacks, ban all those proven to have hacked over the last month.

3) Close transfers to the top server in every tier.

Happy New Years! Good to see the same arguments mulled over repeatedly! For TC to find more success in t2 it will require us to field full q’s during our prime time, and a refining of tactics. I think t3 created a lot of bad habits because I constantly see a ton of eager people around with no real clue how to break open a keep that is heavily defended, as opposed to the empty ones. But this takes practice and repetition and I have no doubt that we can do it if we just keep showing up week after week.

There are tons of reasons one server wins and another loses, and so many of these variables are completely out of our control. It’s the variables we do have some say in where we have to shine and build on. Morale, respect for each-other and our enemies, and the will and want to be first place, even if it takes weeks of third place to get there. The mission isn’t to beat bg, it’s to best anyone that gets in our way, including SoR.

If you find them on your side you will find them fighting just as hard as you for whatever goal you are fighting for, whether it be defense, yak killing, golem rush. I’m sure they get alot of tells though, and one mentioned to me that Anet doesn’t really want them talking much. It might be that he just got so many whispers it was easier to just ignore them and pretend it was against the rules, I dunno. It was fun though, and he helped us kick FA butt that night.

Pretty sure every ranger loves it, or should. Some of the best pets are water pets, ie shark and jelly fish, and Speargun is better than my land weps.

Lol Frozen Jesus I hadn’t heard that in ages. And ya, Tigole Bitties. He actually got his job at blizzard because of those updates. From time to time I run into people from that era and its always fun. Things have changed so much.

Hehe, we got a couple first kills in there, but I don’t believe we were first to clear it. Our biggest claim to fame was the first Avatar of War kill which would be considered a pretty ridiculous fight by todays standards, and he dropped no loot!

Not sure what SoR is doing. Playing for second place perhaps? Dunno, the strategy does not make much sense to me. It seems SoR has a chance at first if they push BG down during their off hours.

SoR plays for first. Plus people have work and things to attend to. You can’t expect everyone to be on every day at a specific time.

If you say so … From what I’ve seen from last week and this week, SoR gets out played by BG at every corner. Picks on TC(easier target for points) and BG does it better. I guess better commanders I suppose.

Even if you believe this, I’m embarrassed for you and PINK you posted it. I’ll leave it at that in this public forum.

Now that I’m awake again, I wanted to tell SoR wow! You guys have an amazing NA primetime push. The coordination between guilds is amazing and readily obvious. It’s most impressive because despite the points lost overnight, you guys have been doing this for weeks on end. I have no doubt that if you guys keep up with what you are doing, sooner or later the kitten will break and you guys will win.

Toasties can learn alot from that perseverence. Even if you can’t win the war, yet, you win the battle in front of you over and over again until the enemy shows a weakness, then you strike. Lets hope we are all ready should BG’s overnight crew ever show a weakness ;P

Don’t discount Tier 3 though either. There is just as much action there it just happens to empty out as soon as primetime is over, which is fine for people who just enjoy constant fighting when they are on. Guilds on FA and CD really appreciate kiling the zerg more than taking their tower so the fights get intense. And screw bubble chains when you can enjoy Tier 3’s 20 to 40 golem pushes lol. Its good times.

There is alot of difference, you should leave and try out some other servers. Tier 2 is extremely competitive with no spawn camping. Oceanic can get a bit one sided with BG having that timezone covered, but when they popped into t1 even they were suppressed and knocked back down to better population and coverage. This means, unless T1 has changed quite drastically in a couple weeks, which is possible, that T1 remains as near a 24/7 population-coverage as the game currently has to offer, and if that should change, the T2 servers will slowly move up and take their places.

Lol I was in that 3 – way if you happened to see a huge blonde Norn in some Pink trying to fire a catapult through the front door into the Lord Room!

Really having a hard time finding these surveys and statistics you’re bring up. Want to elaborate how everyone knows this?

I really don’t need answer players like you but one of the best guilds of WvW is War machine and the leader of WM wrote that they lost 950 players.. I am tier 1 and I can’t find anyone in the maps in some moments of the day

Never heard of War Machine, but if losing that many people was so devastating, how is it your server is still T1? More imporantly, this is already 2 degrees of heresay and for all I know they left to join new better guilds. The point is, what you think “everybody knows” is really just what you and your circle of friends percieve. That doesn’t make your perception less valid than truth, but it does make it an opinion and not a fact.

WvW is a numbers game, which means that many numbers added together equals a much larger but different number. Coverage is important, because without coverage, we would be showing our naughty bits all around town, and that would quite frankly, be embarassing.

And now for something completely different…

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say his question was rhetorical and that he was really just recruiting for HoD. Not judging though, we recruit too, just laughing a bit to myself that people are really trying to answer the question.

My opinion of T2 is there are some winners, some losers, and some people that don’t win or lose but fall in second place. The only thing seperating first and second place in this matchup are that the people in first place are more likely to have more points at the end, but the people in last place usually have the least. Second place always falls in between those two and I guarantee you that if the first place server was gone, second place would probably come in first place. As for third place, the only chance they ever have to be in first or second is to somehow get more points that first and second, which might happen, or might not, at least thats my opinion, mostly.

I’d be okay with Regional WvW servers that are disconnected from PVE servers but I think it would take a pretty big reshuffling of people that might cause more hard feelings than solve them. The system is not so broke that it requires a major fix to operate, but to operate better it would require alot.
