It would be fun if it was a kit, supply crate is already filled with turrets, then we have the elixir, but where is the kit?
?
??
It’ not hard to made turrets fun, just reduce it’s base health by 33%, cool down by 50%, and cast time by 1/4s
Then it’s more active and less people will complain about how OP it is because they can’t kill it in time
You can’t get the guild armors anymore either, although the Council armors from CM looks similar, some of them still varies, like the guild shoulder is larger and more boss lookin’
Add rules:
1. Players can’t be kicked if 20 minutes into a dungeon unless 2. applies
2. Players can be vote-kicked if afk/offline over 5 minutes
This should protect the majority of earnest players
please don’t nerf it anet, it’s much better than seeing grenade/tool kit/elixir S engies every game, so little variation!
Yeah grenades easily miss by 1 now and then due to scattering, it would be much easier to observe this if all the damage were add up to show as one
Turrets got popular lately because you can easily give your allies amazing boons like protection, vigor, and retaliation. Not something turret-less engineers can easily do.
But usually turrets are just there for support, you probably want to focus on bomb and grenade kit.
I usually pray to not get this map, but I think it’s a cool idea. Just way too build specific, might as well recommend you a few builds to pick before going in.
Biggest esports I am aware of are MOBA and RTS, both involve a ramp up time, and knowing what your opponents can do.
When I look at GW2, I can’t see what my opponents’ build, so that’s lacking counter play. There is no way to make adjustments during game to fit needs ( like building different units, or buying different items to fit the need)
It’s real time skirmish like counter strike, but it’s random like… random.
It’s only fun to watch when the spotlight is on one character so you clearly see the skills in involved, but on a larger scale it just looks like a mess to average viewers, not entertaining.
I see all black lion ticket skins as hard core PVE skins, because you either have to go through some crazy event to get it, or farm keys ~.~
SABox skins are hardcore PVE skins too, no way you can get that through PVP!
Flamethrower is a good pvp kit, I won’t really see myself using it too often in wvw though.. I guess you can blow people off cliffs!
Elixirs seem to be only good when you use it to cleanse conditions or get rid of big boons on enemies like stability. Just taking it alone is pretty crappy. Unless elixir S only for power builds.
Build looks okay. But I’d just go with sigil of force over bloodlust. And you can’t reliably use turrets without metal plating, so I’d take 10 points from explosive and 10 points from tools to inventions, then take the 33% less damage trait and 25% run speed trait.
And just give up enhanced performance, it’s not that great unless you are using medkit
Also blood injection is a horrible trait, take something else.
Commander’s Compendium , will all toons get a tag if you have one now? Or does account bond mean the book is still for one toon, but you can’t sell the item?
I think it’s you can’t sell but for one toon, but a lot of my guild members insist it means all toons will get it, so I want to confirm!
Thanks
Turret build is pretty fun, I don’t really see it as cheesy though. If I can’ 1v1 a turret engie I just move on, and so should you. Then come back later to 2v1 which takes them down faster than other specs.
But charge double the price as WPs, extra money sink !
Main character is so lame to not support Taimi’s hard work and fight against the arcane counsel, if anything you could use it as leverage and say we will share you the device after you come to the summit…
Is this still the case after 9 months?
Has there been talk on the option to replace sets of runes like in pvp without having to constantly buy new sets to destroy old sets, or have multiple sets of armors around?
I think it could be a nice option to support the trait refund system, not to mention every balance patch could heavily affect certain builds, forcing replacement of rune sets; on top of that it’s very difficult to have multiple ascended armor sets to just sport different runes…
tornado does so little damage, or else i’d use it
1. Elixir-Infused Bomb + Backpack Regenerator Engineer
2. Healing Signet + Andrenal Health Warrior
I say these two are the easiest because you do cleave damage as well, super noob friendly, but you need traits.
If you actually just want to not die easily, you should just pick ranger, and go catch a few bears or drakes, and let them head in combat first, then you will out tank all classes in PvE in my opinion
I would only say it’s permanent if the CD for speedy kits matches IS, like in the old days.
If it’s 6s every 10s that’s only 60% up time
FT damage is okay, but #2 is really annoying, it’s slow and it goes under the ground or through walls without detonating.
If you can reliably land #2 then with the #1 buff FT damage is pretty much going to be on par with bomb and grenades just because it’s much easier to hit than grenades and more reach than bombs.
I think we will get a dry top themed mini, like a Belinda maybe
It might happen someday, when there are game features in GW2 that demands more underwear time other than dive boards.
1. New players can’t properly learn their class through PVE anymore, because you get traits too slow
2. New players have harder time in PVE because you get less stats, because you get traits slower
3. Veteran players have a harder time leveling a new character in PVE due to reasons from 1. and 2. Unless they spend money of course
bind tool belt 1-4 => 1, Q , E, R
bind attack 1 => left alt
bind look backwards => left shift
then ideally, bind dodge + F6-F10 on the mouse

It’s not hard to secure a stomp with the bomb kit blind, pretty much how most thieves do it anyway.
As for reviving your ally, you can’t revive an ally that is getting stomped by a stability stomper anyway.
So it comes down to can you revive an ally getting stomped by someone without stability, in that case interrupting the stomp is almost just as good.
Therefore shield and rifle works, a turret engineer works too with thumper launch.
Best condition cleanse is healing turret, best way to max out healing turret effectiveness is to go turret build since it gives you vigor which = dodges = what most people here love to say a bunker needs as well!
AKA GO TURRETS WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
How do you get perma vigor with Invigorating speed? Drop Stimulant?
Good idea, or else gadgets are pretty hard to enjoy using.
Tip: Don’t waste good skins and transmutation charges on characters that are not lv80 yet.
Back in the day it was rather cheap to dress up none 80 characters due to the lower level transmutation charges, but nowadays there aren’t that many good ways to dress yourself up pre 80, you simply upgrade gears too fast (every 5-10 levels).
It doesn’t sound too hard to make the player auto join the outnumbered team, which is the major concern here right?
Accepting the chaos for what it is, the worst feeling is then to be on the losing team and have another person join the winning team to outnumber you further more.

The problem all comes down to how soloQ and gw2 in general works.
This is not like dota or LoL where you can accurately expect what composition your team/enemy is going to be when you que up and see what “hero/profession” they picked.
Without the ability to be mentally prepared, you will always have a messy group set up for pick up games, and some builds will always work better in this kind of chaos. IMO this kind of pvp is hard to observe for entertainment and will be hard to be popular in esports for the general public.
Of course for the long term PvP-ers, it’s more easy to quickly grasp the meta builds and see through the composition, but I think that’s one in few.
some npc skills seem to harm you base on y our % health per tick so it goes through toughness altogether, not sure if i am imagining it though!
Fight back with 5 spirit rangers or 5 hambow war
nice, flamethrower is the most comfortable kit to use if it’s damage is high, looking forward to the 33% buff!
Smoke bomb is useless without giving you 1s stability, most of the time the skill that cause the bomb to drop also can easily make you fly or run away from the bomb you just dropped, how AMAZING.
There are games out there that allows attack to continue if you hold down the attack button (like Wildstar). If GW2 add that then you can just hold a key and throw grenades automatically. Also makes melee easier because you don’t need to spam click to cleave an area when the target is illusive.
I don’t really like the idea of nerfing grenades, again. Bombs are already in a very good place and FT is getting buffed, and you want to nerf grenades?
I’d love home instance to have bank and guild bank near each other too
Cover the point with fire and CC them with hammer
Feels really awkward if PvP gave such high rewards, a bolt of damask is really valuable!
PvE players should get glory points for doing world bosses and dungeons then, and from every player kill in WvW
Turret engineers are meant to be good at bunking down a place, so they should get advantage for 1v1s in a reasonable radius.
Ele meteor shower from staff can really screw up a turret engineer, although I don’t see too many eles running staff, but I do see them!
Most cases you don’t have to fight if you want to , just go contest another point, when you can 2v1 you can take down turret eng pretty easily if you have enough aoes
This topic has been talked to death, for now it’s good enough that you get a guaranteed effect from elixirs, you know what you are using most of it for.
I think elixirs are in an okay place with the upcoming changes. I think the throw elixir cast times can be a bit faster though. But personal opinions like this rarely get anywhere :p
Juggernaut should also give 1s stability when going into FT on a 10s CD
Can’t stomp with it, can’t really spam it, but makes you funky
If you are new to engineers you probably don’t know the in and out of many builds yet, so healing turret + transmute is your easiest go to condition cleanse.
Is it a good idea to let stun breakers or conditional removers be usable in transforms? It doesn’t really sound game breaking to me since the CD is still popped, so far if I am ever in DS I just get stunned to death..
I can’t check this right now, anyone know if this bug still persists?
I know this is an old post, but it’s still quite a problematic trait /_\
(from the wiki description anyway)
It needs to have big diminishing returns, because it’s function is getting too close to what a metabolic primer does, having an option that easily competes with a gem store item is not a good idea.
