I should have left a link, here is the bubbly effect I am talking about:

Was this removed a long time ago? Just noticed it today and was slightly sad
:(
I feel like guard is really really good, easy access to swiftness and regeneartion, plus protection for your pet which makes it good for pve and some pvp, makes no sense to ask for more on guard
10s ICD is very long but I sort of see why they did it, because rangers have multiple sources to gain fury, and a remorsless + attack of opportunity + maul might be too strong if its achieved too easily
But still I think its much better around 7s for various builds. 5 is probably too low, atleast 8s.
I think it was a PvP issue? If you were slowed, and you use any skill that should hit because the range matches (melee movement skills), it won’t because you will travel less distance due to you being slower.
So unless they implement as system where the range of a skill updates base on your current movement speed, it makes no sense because you have to way to quantify your movement therefore can’t fight
Phalanx strength + GS Trait made warriors rather superior in pve dungeons, it’s just too bad the ranger trait is so bad, it doesnt have to match warriors, but its pretty bad
remorseless buff applying to buff/player aside, wow i didn’t know there was 10 second icd! warrior’s gs trait gives bunch of might with no icd, 10 second is really long for 3s of fury
(totally my own fault, tool tip did show 10s icd.)
i was trying to trigger on greatsword generated fury, not to mention the 50% on hit to gain fury doesn’t seem to work (takes me 7-8 hits), the fury i get doesnt proc remorseless most of the time… (just on pet)
-Two handed-training: says 50% on hit to gain fury, but multiple times it took me 7-8 hits to proc fury, is it actually 50% on crit..? with internal cd..?
-Remorseless: Opening strike only applies to pet, unless pet is in avoid combat mode
not sure if this was already mentioned, but when i gain fury, the opening strike only occurs on the pet and not me, but if i turn the pet to avoid combat, then the opening strike applies to me.. is that how this work?
beast mastery makes pet worse?
Turrets is hugely nerfed with the new condition buff, a few stacks and a turret dies in seconds
Gadgeteer is a horrible trait… 25% cd is nothing, wasn’t there a 20% cd for all gadgets before? Do we know if that was made baseline
explosives- glass cannon (no other options) <— that’s what I hate about the new system, no option, YOLO. The other two is useless when you go bombs so you are forced to take it, 5% dmg above 90% hp is pretty useless too
It’s probably because the trap stealth rune was too powerful if rangers had ground targeted traps. I’m just guessing though!
There are already skills that are aoe and apply burning, if a burning target also procs aoe damage, an aoe skill that applies burning would then trigger bunch of aoe damage again from each target that got burned
Or each player can only apply 10 stacks max, so if two people attack you it will still go up to 20 stacks and so on
would this insta-balance burning? the cap only applies to human players
Videos showing ele applying 20 stacks of burning does make me think burning can take a nerf
Bomb radius is 240 baseline but display as 180
Which is pretty strong too!
they will probably come back as 800 gem wings, otherwise doesnt seem fair to people that bought it during the sale? i dont noe :s it would feel like the sale was just to quick grab some cash because people may think it will be gone for a long time so feel compelled to buy it
still didnt work after the patch
It’s a big deal because it already kills a bunch of builds, it does not matter what you think about burning.
It’s also a balancing move to save other kits because it was too easy to build around only using the mortar kit and still do decent damage, something they want to discourage.
It’s true, you can’t do whatever you want anymore. They did their best at bringing the core values of the professions over.
But the fun of gw2 as a new player, part of it was discovering new builds, thinking it’s amazing, then find out something better later.
But it depends on the game type, if you look at a moba like Dota, there’s pretty much 0 variety either. Then if you look at Path of Exile, its build variety is through the roof, and people love it.
So I don’t know what expectation I have for MMOs, builds are meaningless if the PVE maps are boring as heck.
The trait system killed a lot of neat balance and design players put in the past to their builds, good thing they came out with the feature to change stats on ascended gear, that sort of account for part of the loss…
It’s a step forward in terms merging useless traits together to make it more meaningful, it should be pretty decent after all the major balance tweaks are ironed out. But overall there is less build diversity now.. that’s for sure. (Whether that diversity was meaningful or not, its definitely not as locked down as now)
- If you are with a big wvw group, you pull out your mortar because it has the range, the aoe and the fields
- if you are in a dungeon, the vulnerability stacks, bleeds has way higher dps than mortar
- if you are pvping, it would depend how you spec, but either way eng’s damage is only optimal when the enemy is within decent range like 300-600, mortar shells also travel really slow so its easy for a ranger or mesmer to do a lot of damage to you before you can even hit them, all they have to do is dodge a magnet pull then an engineer needs quite some time to get close, probably have to pop a shield or dodge a few times
most bosses die before you get to dodge <— that’s really your problem, how hard can it be to dodge an attack by the boss, you make it sound like the boss won’t even try to touch you before it dies?
its easy to stack up to 25 vulnerability with nades, you can barely get to 3 with mortar
i think nades still outdamage mortar, but you can only pull it out when its midrange
also nade’s frozen grenade aoe is nerfed big time, so the value of mortar kit is really the long range, okay dmg, large blind/chill/poison fields
if you just use a mortar in a dungeon vs nades, overall team dps will surely suffer
bought it today, hoping the game can keep improve for the better, i personally hate bunch of things, but i also see they do some things right
just imagining a warrior burning you at 1200 range and you can’t do anything about it, when you get close he is immune to stuns and conditions for 10 seconds, so you have to live though constant renewed burning for like 10-20 seconds for all i know, on top of direct damage, its tough!
what i did was i had it equipped, and let one of those forest creatures kick me down, didnt break from stun :s
reactive lenses does not break stun nor apply fury
Reactive lenses doesn’t break stun or apply fury
it doesn’t break me out of stun when disabled, is it working for anybody??..
Sorry my mistake, for some reason I had to took away the spec, and bring it back again for the lines to connect, and minor traits activate.
bunker down is really good for solo, elixir infused bomb was pretty amazing at healing the team, i am thinking its replaced by the blast combo heal teammates now.. just not sure how much it heals yet
I really miss this trait and the 20% reduced damage when stun trait
180 bomb is a joke
Use the something something ground targeting option where it auto casts aoe
This might be a good change, ascended gear costs like 2000% more than exotic gears
So 10% stronger feels okay, with that said this will make the air/fire sigil burst builds that tiny bit stronger
with the new trait system, you can only take one one trait of each tier, instead of combinations of them? that would destroy build variety
ridiculously powerful if it gives protection
If you are not taking the bomb radius trait, the value of your bomb kit greatly diminishes both for pve and wvw, if you mainly want it for burning a flame thrower could be more versatile
It’s already pretty easy to camp in dps kits like bomb/nades.. Especially since they can either make your whole team do more damage, or heal your whole team..etc (Traited)
Need icon flash for sure, many games have it
Would you mind defining how Elixir C is “passive” play?
Passive because you can only use it defensively, instead of using it to set up for some offensive play, not only does it take up 1 precious slot, I also don’t think it really helps against conditions, because most of the pressure from condition comes from tick fields or constantly application.
If the cool down was 25 seconds or so it might be of any real use.. as of now I am pretty sure it’s the least used of all elixirs .
I do not think passive means what you seem to think it means. Passive means it gives a function, benefit, or effect, without you having to make an action. I can assure you that this skill does absolutely nothing unless physically activate it.
It also converts damaging conditions to both offensive and defensive boons.
I said passive play, not passive skill. Very big difference !
Other posts above you already said they usually change it to elixir S for serious fights, pretty sure I don’t have to explain why..
sync over the chinese voice overs too plz!

You can’t get the guild armors anymore either, although the Council armors from CM looks similar, some of them still varies, like the guild shoulder is larger and more boss lookin’
really? can you not simply buy them from the guild armor vendor?
guild armor vendor only sells the chest + backpiece , I just happen to like the guild shoulder skin over the CM shoulder skin, too bad
