Is-is it over? Not sure if the griefing is done or not…
…
I-I think I can bring out funny pictures or something to cool us all down. So much hate going on…
Just going to leave this here…
Disappointing.
Although the amount of sheer drama is something quite good, the fact that going from the usual insults and smears at one another has literally devolved to what looks like alts going back and forth as salvotaging spies is something you would think A-Net would keep watch over during the course of this crucial time of Leagues.
After watching first-hand the said spy on Yak’s Bend ruin the hills upgrade, there was a huge urge of vengeance even after blantently bragging about it in map chat and cheesing supply by building useless siege. But fortunately most Benders are resilient to not go down to that level. I say most because every server has those people who will take such a thing as an invitation, and after seeing the screenshots and accusations a bit later of the same thing happening on SBI…
…
Definitely feel like the rest of this match-up will be very dirty, as the escalation someone mentioned before might already be happening. SBI, I know you guys feel the same now that this is happening simultaneously, so please look into your [Bags] guild. I rather not call guild tags, but that was the tag the spy who started this whole mess ran later on this day after doing damage.
…Not really sure this can all be salvaged now. Well crap.
good fights with ACiD (mesmer and warrior) on SBI-BL this morning, one chase that lasted from NW camp all the way back to yaks bend spawn. I dont want to hear any more smack talk about “sbi has bad roamers.”

Fun times though, your friends kept coming, I wanted to fight you one to one, and preferably with my own poison :P
Good fights!

Good read, when can I get e-book version?
I was hoping to sell the electronic version at Barne’s and Noble for Tree-Fiddy.
….Wait for it…
Where to begin?
First, I suppose being the main antagonist of the events that transpired this week, I confess that I pre-emptively drew aggro and started the talk early this week and got the fights I and some members of [One] desired. Actually I hardly ever PvF as hard as I did this week, and I suppose there was some selfish desire on my part to want FA to try their hardest, come out in force and fight us in the open field.
In a way it worked, but at the same time, punished my fellow colleagues and WvWers on Yak’s Bend for fighting a foe with such a greater coverage and coodination across borderlands with undue focus. I may have enjoyed every moment of back and forth slaughters on both sides, but I know that equally my comrades were not enjoying it, thus the fairweathers and potential new WvWers this week were crushed.
I apologize for my behavior on that regard.
I also apologize to the various guilds on FA, as although [One] may have desired combat in the open plains and you definitely did come out, we could not sate your bloodthirst for us in GvGs. It definitely makes us look bad, and I am definitely to blame for that, especially after spectating our respectable comrades in arms [Glob] show up last night to prove their mettle with valor. One should not talk the talk and not walk the walk.
However, I am still extremely proud of Yak’s Bend for such a great week of fighting an opponent of Fort Aspenwood’s calibur. YB will continue to grow despite this loss, and is a definite contender for the remaining weeks. I am extremely happy for the intense fights that were given this week, and am already looking forward to the rest of this League Season.
I am very eager for the next time FA and YB exchange blows, and definitely looking forward to when [One] will show FA we weren’t just kidding around. Looking at things now, it might not be too far off from after the Season is over
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], already making plans for the next time.
ONE stop running away in FA BL.
Running you over does not constitute running away, especially in a larger ploy involving taking your bay with golems. It is also equally amusing seeing you guys fall for the same cliff trap numerous times.
…by the way as of a few minutes ago, your formerly upgraded bay is Red.
Thanks for the bags in the mean-time!
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], really wishing for stronger fights.
Yeesh.
It takes one tiny post to set off a hellstorm apparently, between the lovely pestering posts in game and in this thread, I don’t think anyone has quite the sensitivity that FA does if anyone criticizes anything.
:)
Anyways, sorry I have not been posting so much, the inevitable frustrations of the queue on YBBL have many of our good WvW Yakkers unable to provide adequate fighting in our own BL. Suddenly far less entertaining now, but still good fights regardless on other BLs.
Anyways gracias to [Hope] and [RAM] for the good fights at FABL this night, the dual ZvZ combat with us at [One] and our good friends [Glob] versus you two was, and I quote, ‘Rad’, and we appreciate you guys coming out to open field just to see how well some 2v2 or 1v1 fights go.
….
I would make further comments, but I think the damage was already done. Thanks for the good fights, I will say that SE tower play with the mesmer port on the back-side was a really good call and executed perfectly!
Keep it up folks! [One] still wants more!
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], still a bit flattered about the attention FA is giving YB.
Good Fights in FABL, thanks [Core], [Hope], [Meow], [Bomb] and other guilds for providing much fights on opening reset hours for [One] and destroying my full Mystic Salvage Kit on the loot from you guys!
Should be a good week!

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/matchups/9-20-SF-HoD-YB/page/4#post2923296I’ll just leave this here since it is always BP complaining about YB’s numbers.
First you were complaining about YB’s numbers. Now you’re complaining about people complaining about YB’s numbers.
For those who are reading comprehension challenged. I am simply responding to a post where the poster (not the postee) was stating that only BP ever complained about their numbers. The key words in the above sentence is “responding” and " only BP ever". If it makes anyone on this anonymous forum feel better I will capitulate that extreme numbers happen on most servers as long as the anti-BP crowd will capitulate that YB numbers are not as skillful as other server’s numbers when matched evenly or very close in numbers. Statistically speaking wins usually lean toward the opponent of YB when the numbers are within a +/- ratio of 10.
I will be here all week. If you need the assistance on any of the above definitions or require pie charts I am more than glad to help out. In the mean time, enjoy a clip of a recent unpleasant experience I have had of trying to hold a tower in EB.
Well no.
Going to bold the part in your post that’s incorrect, or rather there’s a bit of miscommunication going on.
Though, I imagine it’s how people interpret the initial post earlier…here:
It’s cool, in the coming weeks you guys will get a chance to show off your skill against equal numbers. I look forward to seeing that.
I love how it’s always BP crying about our numbers and not Ebay. The only time we have more people in WvW than BP is really early in the morning east coast time. We just have commanders that can manage all 4 maps much much better.
Always does not mean Only.
Sirflamesword was indicating that in the context of this thread only, hence the three words after the marked part of the sentence in question, signify this. For some ungodly reason grabemx you tried to indicate an alternative that was incorrect, hence your links. And…then sirflamesword should have said what I have pointed out now, but proceeded to follow up on your flawed claim. And then Faux said something odd, also following up in the same manner…
Irrelevance aside, the ultimately incorrect reading comprehension started with Grabemx linking the threads involving servers many of which are in Bronze, a complete upset and ultimately not even remotely close to our presence. Then a post from all sides managed to upset the comprehension more, and now we are all dumber for it.
Guys, this is what we in the business like to call a three-way kitten-up.
Should have had Bacon.

So much hate, yet I think people are missing out on the fact this is one of the more even match-ups…PPT-wise.
Weekdays are going to be interesting.
So, to that regard let’s start off on a better note.
Here’s a picture of bacon. You are all now happy.
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], rushing to the kitchen, back in an hour.
Dear EB and BP,
Thank you for all the bags you have graciously donated to the evil empire on reset night on EBG with your tactics of focusing all of your attacks on YB non-stop. Both EB and BP love to take the advantage of having the one server draw us away while the other launch an attack at SM or the towers on the other side YB’s area while staying away from each other’s area. Running away from us will only temporary delay the inevitable of your demise, although it was fun chasing your group across the map. But in the end we will find you and you will be face the wrath of the evil empire so just graciously hand us the goodies and drop dead.
I made 182 Heavy bags on Yaks Bend tonight.

- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], loving the achievement points! We get achievement points people!
Hey!
Just wanted to chime in since people actually brought up the rather silly outmanned buff.
It is a terrible mechanic and does not quite justify what being ‘outmanned’ implies, especially in various situations. The argument of ‘you did not have the buff therefore you were not outmanned’ is highly irrelevant, considering the extremes which the buff applies itself to.
I have already seen in this match-up many situations where the outmanned buff could have applied (going by many videos already posted, aren’t we all lovely people
) yet it does not.
So please stop using that argument, ‘Outmanned’ is broken. That is all.
Sincerely,
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], always dancing in LA till WvW time!
Well this is interesting.
I used to see these exact arguments in other MMOs, in which just about every single one of them in my opinion is a far steeper grind than this game.
But that is again my opinion, so instead of going down that route I should instead ask everyone here one question:
What do you play Guild Wars 2 for?
The gear? The minigames? Dungeons? WvW? SPvP? Roleplaying? Simple Interaction with guildmates and friends or exploration? Perhaps you are here to just see what Arenanet might throw out in two weeks, a rather impressive way to go about making the world slightly more different every few weeks or so. But I digress, the simple matter is that we all play and continue to play this game for many reasons.
And there really is NOT a need to feel pressure at all, from doing any aspect in this game. OP I am rather unsure where you get the idea that you need ascended gear to succeed in WvW, anyone seriously pushing for that is rather naive, since success in WvW comes from good communication, tactics and fighting. In fact one could say there is far TOO much to do in any single day, I have played many MMOs yet while I consider myself a hard-core player I can’t do everything I want to do in this game in a single day, week, or even month! All of it is enjoyable yet I have to make choices each day on what I want to do!
‘Southsun Survival is today?! Woot I can do that for a few hours- wait Shatterer is up I should go over there- Guild missions right now?! Nooooo!’
It has been a very long time since I was so refreshed playing an MMO, it doesn’t matter really people what you or your friends want to invest in this game, it is quite apparent Arenanet is at least trying to put effort hitting all the potential audiences to get them to play.
You can tell simply by the amount of work they do for Super Adventure Box, an open-world minigame WITHIN a game, with its own mechanics and reliance on puzzle-solving! Its deviation from how the GW2 real game is so profoundly different yet they put that much work into it because they actually care for the various things involved in this game. They care enough for the fans of Super Adventure Box to keep going forward with it, they cared enough about the World Boss difficulty, about the former stagnation of certain bosses from a simple auto-attack spam to a bit more engagement…to change things around. (It is an entirely different discussion with concern to World Boss difficulty…)
My point being, rather than asking Arenanet ‘Am I the type of player you want?’ you should be asking ‘What other players haven’t you covered yet?’.
Because I am pretty kitten sure they are trying to hit all the bases, and based on their success thus far they are doing a kitten good job considering! Sure, we can talk about issues all we want, but for now I can definitely say you are one of the types of players Arenanet wants to keep.
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One].
And back.
I think the opinion thus far is either it is a scaling issue, a coordination issue or both.
My server (Yak’s Bend) last night did finally topple Tequatl after hitting Hard-Cap with nearly everyone in comms. Glorious yes, but when you consider all the factors involved, Tequatl does seem like content that could easily be…well, not clearable even once a day. Would not surprise me if people decide that Tequatl would be done on a certain day, just for that chance at the very money-making mini, ascended weapons with a dark mist effect, and other things.
I can only hope Arenanet is aware of this and is hoping to work him slightly after Boss Week is up. The Tequatl Achievements I believe are in the game permanently.
First I would like to congratuate Arenanet for the New Tequatl. If there is not already enough appreciation going on let me tell you that bringing the challenge of this magnitude to GW2 is definitely, absolutely the right idea going forward. I also must give my congratuations to the many servers who have thus defeated Tequatl and have kept moving forward with repeative kills, in the hopes that servers that have yet to kill him learn the strategies and rigorously learn his every move. Such is the way a world boss should be, and I have renewed hopes for other much needed revamps or reworks, or perhaps new zones with new encounters.
THAT said…I feel like despite how possible it is to kill Tequatl…
…that between the zone soft-cap and overflows the fight might be tuned poorly.
WAIT! Wait wait wait don’t throw fire at me yet. Let me finish.
Right now the main theme from what I get from the various kills of Tequatl is that to have a solid 100+ coordinated people in a single Sparkfly, invoking the powers of ‘party up and join my sparkfly’ to have the capacity and resources TO beat Tequatl.
In fact it has become necessary since the requirement to push Tequatl into the next phases is quite high, while the amount of people you can have dead is so short. Though I imagine over the next week we will probably see the current servers that realistically beat him double (Oh Guesting…).
But…why? Why can’t Tequatl fall to a coordinated group of 70 that haven’t hit the overflow cap yet? Why aren’t his mechanics tuned to that number instead of forcing people to play the overflow party invite card?
That is the only real issue I have at this point, or anyone really. The fight is tuned for numbers greater than the normal acceptable number the zone would prefer, rather than just before that same number.
Yes, that means that Tequatl is broken, in a way yes that means I am calling for a nerf. I am not calling for a nerf of his difficulty, by gods if 40+ people continue to die to each wave he shouldn’t be killed that time! Make sure it is entirely feasible for the persons at the encounter to kill provided they do the mechanics CORRECTLY! And for gods sake put some kitten scaling on him so the low-pop servers can have a shot!
Actually, that’s the biggest thing really. SCALING. Make him scale at 40, 80, and even the current form at 100+! It is a matter of perspective, for low population servers who can only field maybe 20 to Sparkfly on a regular basis, giving him a 40 person scale means they will have to make Tequatl a special case, bringing in more than the average! That’s how you create an inviting encounter! The highest population servers can still very much do their party invitations to get their large-scale guildmates and friends in on the current encounter as is, but at least they won’t have to DEAL with the guesters taking up slots if the guesters have their own server given a fighting chance!
Actually, I want someone to tell me how this is a bad idea, having Tequatl scale in such a degree. I adore Tequatl right now, even as my server struggles to still kill him, but I feel many of the problems people are posting on this forum right now could easily be solved with a scaling on the encounter rather than a stagnant +100 man coordination that many of the servers cannot do without help!
Just my two pennies.
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], pondering many things.
Then let’s find a compromise for it Arenanet and fellow players.
(For those impatient, I made a TL;DR of the main point)
Before I even go into it, let me state that the arguments presented do not cover the facet of GvG, only WvWvW. I am aware of the crippling, or outright denial of GvGs by this Bloodlust and I can only hope in the future A-Net has something planned for guilds to actually, well, wage war upon one another in equal combat. WvWvW is an entirely different breed, and Bloodlust’s main objective was to add another scale of depth to it so thusly my propositions are for what A-Net could do with Bloodlust in the current WvWvW setting.
Bloodlust as a mechanic on paper looks rather appealing. A buff that can turn the tide of war with some spent resources (manpower) from any size. The counter-play is that if one invests too much in the buffs, they are not present for defense on objectives.
In a perfectly matched environment, sure, awesome, sounds about right. Too bad WvWvW is almost never equal, some objectives are just harder to take than others, some servers just have more numbers than others…its not a perfect environment.
This is where Bloodlust carries its problems, and where the population is rather upset. Bloodlust in its current state does favor the greater coverage, which is likely (not always) the greater population server. It makes the server even stronger, its individuals more powerful and the objective NPCs more potent as well, yes, Bloodlust applies to veterans and champions as well!
If the intent of Bloodlust was to force the higher coverage server to move its resources to control the middle of the map as opposed to guarding, they could very easily do so compared to the lesser servers. The uphill climb for the lesser population server to fight numbers with skill just became even more difficult.
Not to mention the GvG blowback from the change makes this probably the least favored WvW patch thus far!
Arenanet, I am very aware you take strides to respond well to player feedback, so let me offer a proposition for what Bloodlust could be, that minimizes the effect while providing the lesser coverage servers a means to actually be a challenge to the superior coverage.
You want WvW matches to be tightly contested correct? What if Bloodlust worked something like this:
On equal ground, still provides the same +50, assuming every server is equally matched. After time the War Score (the total points) of the 1st place server begin to break…let’s say 20k over the 2nd place server. However, a member of that first place server notices their bloodlust…diminished somewhat, getting a +40 stats per one. The lesser servers notice a +60 per stack.
Match keeps going, the number 1 server pulls to a 40k lead, and sees the bloodlust go down to +30 while the lesser servers are getting a +70 stat increase per bloodlust, now making their stacks worth more than double what the superior server in coverage and population has. The higher numbers began to struggle against the lesser, fights are becoming a bit harder to win lest the higher coverage actually sends more forces to intervene with Bloodlust, knowing that even ONE stack of bloodlust on the lesser servers means they have a huge advantage back.
…I do not think I need to push the idea any further, but I think you catch the drift.
TL;DR:
Having War Score of the 1st Place Server affect Bloodlust would be a psuedo-fix to the current issues and add that level of depth Arenanet probably wanted from Bloodlust originally. Have Bloodlust diminish for the 1st place server the higher they go in War Score while increase in stats per bloodlust for the other two servers. This could make the middle of the map very appealing to all sides, add that level of complexity and tactics like the intended purpose of Bloodlust should have been!
At 100k points it is almost assured that the 1st place server would win the match-up but Bloodlust would offer them no stat bonuses while the lesser servers could take a bloodlust stack for an astonishing +100, get some vengeance!
I think we are all in agreement that the imbalance of coverage between uneven match-ups sucks quite a bit. So rather than have Bloodlust be yet another advantage for the leading server, have it be a tool for the lesser servers to help fight back the greater numbers!
Thank you for taking the time to read this A-Net.
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One].
In light of the new challenging content of which everyone should enjoy, the Golem Mark II was a refreshing encounter.
However, during the course of the fight someone pointed out the barrels near where the reward chest spawns are just outside the electrical fields, while being in range for ranged attacks…
….Rather than have this fight go downhill as a ranged spank, I am making it known that this could be abused to ruin the overall challenge of the fight.
That is all, otherwise good stuff overall!
The problem with all this speculation, is the mechanics of Tequatl based on what is known thus far try their best to prevent most of the bad things that can occur with the zerg.
You can’t afk and get the 25% credit for the chest.
You can’t ignore the champs since they are spawning during the ‘You can’t touch Tequatl while he flies’ phase, so you need something to kill amidst the veterans that go down very quickly anyways, they are that buffer.
You can’t just idle either and attack Tequatl, you need turrets to remove the Karka Queen-like stacks on him unless you want to do all of 100 damage from many auto-attacks while the poison that now persists on the ground kills you.
Speculating is fun, but at least think of the big picture here, Tequatl is A-Net’s second attempt at making a world boss able to engage everyone involved. Karka Queen was the first, but as someone mentioned her requirements for spawning are kind of shotty for low pop servers….
The only thing that might be bad is those people interested on the %, since we don’t know if the reward for Ascended is based on a kill or any of the chest drops.
I’ll just say, theres a reason why hardly no yaks are presence and we aren’t upgrading anything. :P
Cause the evil empire doesn’t like zombies? :/
The evil empire makes no biases towards any of its denizens.
However we have a strict ‘no brain-consumption’ policy in place, denizens found consuming brains will be burned to death by flamethrowers. Insurance policies do not cover loss of life or property in this manner.
Thank you for your compliance with the Evil Empire!

Good Fights tonight One, had a lot of fun.
Yep, you guys are really terrific and work so cohesively together, amazing fights tonight.
A great learning experience, thank you for your time!
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], getting a new perspective on how far we need to go.
It was a struggle for me not to point it out and instead make a sort of ‘whatever’ post, but I think eithinan nailed it. Thanks.
Even if the intent wasn’t condescending it will still come off as such when the match-up is so one-sided.
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], attempting to stay classy.
Thought id say good fights last night in EBG. Might I give some pointers to you guys on Yaks and Kaineng.
Yaks.. you guys had a MONSTER zerg last night.. why did you take towers and your keep back yet you abandon it for nothing? You left everything you took defenseless and we recaped them in no time. With the numbers you had you could have done a lot more, the golem rushes were pretty good but you guys didnt use mesmer portals to speed them up very well, we were able to pick them off fairly easy. When it comes to your zerg, you all scatter to the 4 winds when you meet resistance, try to stack up, share buffs and stability when you charge in, several times I took a group half as big and destroyed the integrity of your zerg due to that. You all had a hell of a zerg, just got to learn how to control it!
Kain, you guys are unfortunate to not have the numbers we do, you did have a good zerg size bout an hour before i logged off and you pushed on overlook, however you did the same thing as yaks did, scattered, and didnt stack up. Once again we were able to take a smaller group, pierce through your front line and decimate the integrity of the zerg. You also were slow to get the golems going on the gates. Use those mesmer portals, they are your friend! Also keep them together so they move as a group so when they hit the gate they are 10 x more effective.
To kain and yaks, learn how to do defensive tactics, make sure you siege up your towers and especially the keep to defend against attacks. Im sure you were low on supply but yaks, you guys took camp after camp and had a ton of supply yet no defenses. Its good to take stuff but holding it, is much more difficult and if you can hold towers and keeps, you will be far more successful. Also learning siege placements and knowing how to use hit and fade attacks to draw an enemy into a bad position to give you the upper hand is really important.
Lastly, physiological warfare. Holding a zerg in one position while stacked and not moving whilst you watch can be devastating. Then when the zerg dissapears or charges in together tightly packed, it can make people run, and it does, people get scared of a pixel death. Teamwork guys, it works.
Im just making suggestions, there are many different ways of doing things and such and also when you dont have the manpower it limits what you can do. Motivation is everything as well, a non motivated zerg is a weak zerg. Communication is key, if you dont use communication, you will lose. We followed yaks every move last night as they had a huge zerg moving about and defended 2 golem rushes.
oh.. and those two thieves this morning.. nice try, you thought you could get me
bahahah! Good fight!
Ah, someone spotted our WXP train! It is probably one of the last few things we can do to deal with the constant presences on all maps, and helps us keep morale and training up! And I am more than happy with the various commanders who have lead such trains this week with the current set-up we have now.
As much as I like to be joking aside, we at Yak’s Bend are aware of the various tactics and tips you have mentioned and do in fact implement them at our discretion. Although I do find it flattering you considered that train a ‘monster’ zerg.
Thanks for the reminders though!
- Jornosh, Suicidal Warrior of [One], secretly making plans to take over the world, and then goes to watch Pinky and the Brain.
I wouldn’t mind a lobby area.
Though, if you really think about it, you would be bringing the sum-total of the kind of talk that occurs in the Match-up forum, into the game…
Think about that…
The invasions are a small step towards helping out the old zones with activity, but I agree mostly.
The problem is that there still isn’t quite enough incentive to push some old zones save a few used routinely for champion event chains for daily chests and whatnot. The new ascended weapons require many different aspects of PvE from jumping puzzles to champion event chains to dungeons, but for the most part there is only so much one could do with the current system in place to achieve some sort of…population I suppose on any given map.
One idea I thought of just now, I believe I read it somewhere else, would be something akin to Cross-Zone events, where it starts off in a low-level zone, do a chain there, finish up with some sort of chest, and proceed to the next zone and toggle the next line.
Do that ALL the way up to the high-level zones for a climax of some story-related proportions, and some nice loot!
Cool, you just increased the activity across many low to medium zones. But systematically that might seem rather…hard. I believe A-Net has designed events not to overlap with other zones like that, so it would be something out of the box, thus take a GREAT degree to make.
For now, GW2 will have to suffer this similar problem many MMOs have…for now. Unless they do come up with something really cool, then I will be happy.
Hmm…
Nope, got nothing.
I am trying to think of ways to reduce Dragonbrand coverage in WvW this week.
It’s not like if I said “Only the coolest WvWers get a Yellow Super Weapon and take Stonemist Naked” will suddenly cause a sharp decrease in activity…
…..
……..
Really have respect for [One] coming into our bl, and arranging the impromptu GvG. Was a blast fighting you guys down there in the SE.
It was good stuff, being part of that fight we tried to make for entertaining fights at the end of the week.
Mind you personally, this week has been better than most that we have had. Yak’s Bend is still rallying together and having good turn-outs and fighting strong guilds like [EK] helps to make an enjoyable matchup!
Best Regards [EK] and hope for a good line-up for y’all!

Simple question, because I really want that nice yellow weapon, but I am not too fond of the green…
If World 2 Tribulation ISN’T gated by World 1 Tribulation, then it seems I am bugged out since I finished World 2 on Normal yesterday and the cloud still isn’t speaking to me
It’s a good groundwork at this time for A-Net to make them worthwhile.
I am pretty sure I made a post earlier last month concerning what they could do, like unique skins, special titles, other bonuses…
But right now, it only signifies the amount of time a player has put into a character, alongside how many WvW abilities they may have.
Ah. I see now!
Well-played Liu.
That is some professional work baiting me to taking you seriously one time. But you made a mistake, you should have tossed down ‘Well I am not sure how to defend against golems, can someone show me how?’ instead of ‘Wah, Golems are bad and stuff, why should I learn to adapt?’
Might have gotten another few posts from me since this thread is just trolling Yak’s Bend.
Bravo.
That part about ‘Lack of integrity’ was really a flub though, gave it away big time. Keep working on those trolling skills amigo.
Because there is no way anyone can be that hurt about golems. To the point of ignoring actual advice and recommendations.
Just ignore the troll fellow yakers.
Hi Liu!
As enthusiastic, and flattered, to hear our server called out on the official WvW discussion and as much as I would like my comrades and friends take their jabs at you for calling us out since that was ulterior intent of your opening post, I feel like perhaps you should be given our angle on how and why Golem Rushes are a touch more balanced than you think.
Oil, Mortars, Cannons and Ballistas.
Even a massive amount of Arrow Carts will cut down Alpha Golems rather easily, golems although mobile are NOT an endgame but another means of capturing a keep. They also require a bit of coordination to pull off, between pre-emptive scouting to make out the correct weakpoint over a gate with over 20 ACs, and having the drivers stick together or even spread out to mitigate siege fire.
Hands down the most overpowered thing after Golems is Arrow Carts, which will break into the masses so hard without golems to act as sponges it is not even funny. The unfortunate thing is that although you might not believe it, the times before golems were built from undynamic trebbing and sieging up points if the aggressor had to take out a fully upgraded objective. Counter trebbing made taking objectives even harder, and the defenders were HEAVILY favored over even the most unbelievable odds.
Golems took it to a new level for aggressors, helping them with the gap. But at the same time added another depth of strategy. The infamous golem rushes as you so call them may have a bad name but with enough creativity and well-placed counter siege, Yak’s Bend has seen their golems fall to such tactics, and even used some of their on-the-spot plans to fell golem rushes as large as 40+. Yes, it does get up to that point, but if you can plant ballistas near the choke with some AC cover suppor- oh, I have said too much.
Anyways, as opposed to complaining on the forums I would highly suggest reflecting on what coverage your server has and how to set up procedures on dealing with such rushes. I would practice having map calls for rushes, setting up contested WP calls, find spots where the golems are most likely to get choked at and set up siege on the ground to deal with them. I hear Spread-Shot is amazing.
Let me just say again, so flattered you called us out here, over the many other servers who can use this tactic. If you wish to make a point about WvW, next time make a hypothetical without the use of names, or else you are just intentionally goarding us to commenting.
Keep classy.

There is one, and only one thing I have to ask those who spend the time/gold/materials to craft to fill out the collection.
Just one thing, very simple thing that effectively decides how big of an investment you ‘really’ lost.
What did you do with the resulting crafted item?
You put in time and money to get an item, so what did you do with it?
- Did you vendor it?
- Did you list it on the TP?
- Is it chilling out in your bank?
Why am I asking this? Because I cannot believe you are out so much money without getting something back. You created said items with materials and whatnot, spent time doing so. You should, as we all know, have gotten your money BACK from selling, if not make a profit depending on what you sold.
If there is any real loss, you simply spent a lot of time getting the recipes filled out, that is it. Any able-minded player would have sold the product crafted at a price to break even.
Although heaven forbid the product itself is less than the sum of its part, some recipes ARE such. Then yes, you lost maybe a few gold, but I assure you you haven’t lost hundreds.
This is what we the 99% are trying to get at. If the only investment you made was time then many of us have paid that same price.
Thanks INC for letting me and my buddies tag along tonight! And to all of you who were at the 3 way mexican stand off at CDBL Bay, gf. Hoping to see the fraps of that.
Was going through my head as we all stood there, thinking who would start first?
“Whose it going to be?”
Seriously though that was a pretty tense dozen or so minutes.
With the concern to Sentinel inscriptions, I actually looked into it.
That…is probably the biggest issue. I can only hope that when you can salvage exotics for recipes you can get the recipe for it.
That is likely the most valid claim, but everything else is arbitrary.
Wait.
I think people are misunderstanding somewhat, because you aren’t losing out the most important part of making the exotics, the inscription. Those are not being reset, those ranting and raving about losing their RARE molten sentinel exotic creations can still make them.
It’s the convinence of seeing that exotic on your crafting list that is going away. Meaning once the patch hits, you make the materials and toss it in the discovery again to get the exotic and its discovery back on your crafting list.
Blowing it far out of hand folks…
Though if you are a completionist of the most extreme kind (Every Exotic Discovery founded) then yes this would impact you. Sorry for your impulsive loss
This does nothing against everyone else.
Except this DOES impact everyone who has even one recipe reset. It affects the gold/time it took to get the mats to discover that recipe and requires us to invest that gold/time to discover it again. Just like the mf change that flushes the gold/mats/laurels/time/transmutation stones that we invested to make the gear.
Except for the small bit where people are already aware of what the recipes are now, there is no time needed to discover recipes! And if you were frequently using said recipe (Ultimately I find it unlikely that anyone always made every single discovery on a daily basis), then it should not be too hard to re-learn it again for discovery experience towards Grandmaster ‘so-so’. Heck, I would be MORE upset if I couldn’t discover the recipes again, it is a huge bonus to discovering a recipe towards leveling a craft.
….Yes, I agree on the MF point, that will be a harsh hit to my wallet and I am pretty sad it is going away.
But I cannot figure out why anyone except those who are completionists with crafting would be upset by this change! It encourages a head-start into leveling your crafting and is a minor hiccup to mass-crafting since you have to put the materials in ONCE to discovery the recipe!
Making a mountain out of a mole-hill jeez…
You didn’t address my main gripe, the gold/time wasted. You can see it for mf gear because it affects you too. I’d guess you have a tidy stock of materials in your bank, I don’t. I reached 400 in every crafting discipline so I sell my materials to make more gold. Now I either have to invest time to get those materials or gold to buy those materials to get a recipe I already know.
I fully understand their justifications but this change, just like the mf change, is stealing gold from my account pure and simple. Even if you don’t find it problematic for yourself you surely must see that this is more than just a reset of a recipe, it’s a flushing of the gold/time it took to unlock that recipe.
BTW love the dismissive attitude there, I don’t think I’ve treated anyone with an opposing viewpoint that way. Don’t worry though, as long as it’s done defending ArenaNet, no moderator action will be taken.
So… you are part of that completionist group I mentioned before. The only real ones getting shafted by the change.
There is no one else other than those people that loses out from this change. The materials spent prior after discovery or even FOR discovery purposes were used for an intent to either level the crafting or level the profession. Perhaps that first item was one of many to be sold or consumed, the fact is the materials put towards it were not wasted in the slightest. Only some sort of completionist pride is hurt, but here is the thing you seem to be overlooking.
If it was not done this way, completionists would be the most hurt by the discipline changes to 500 since they would lose out on discovery experience towards leveling the crafting.
It would take you LONGER to max out things, cost MORE materials to level and thusly MORE gold! Fancy that, the whole time/gold argument would be entirely shifted on its head if they did NOTHING!
Not to mention completionists would NEED to level their discipline again to get to 500 to gain the recipes at that level.
This change is good for everyone. If you cannot see this then I am sorry to hear that, the rest of us are thankful for it.
Wait.

Here’s a screen shot of about 20 Yak’s Bend who took a portal into a fully upgraded tier 3 northwest tower when no walls or gate had been down since it was flipped back to green, epitome of class:
The second screen shot took place 1 minute before the first. You can see us running to save the tower. The gate was still up, we thought we had time, until a number of yak’s bend ported right up onto the wall and rushed the lord as evidenced by the first picture.
The second screenshot clearly shows the gate heavily damaged probably below 20%. What happened I think was that we got in, then someone repaired the gate.
So, you are proposing that over the course of less than one minute, the lord died, we got into the lord room, repaired the gate, and fought YB? What was I thinking anyways, that there would even be one honest person on your server. Pathetic. I actually had respect for you guys but it is gone. You consistently exploit your way into our bay and NW tower. You were finally caught red handed and you make excuses.
…….
kitten , seems I really can’t just sit back and watch the lovely drama in this thread. It was about as enjoyable as those B-rate shows on CBS but since you seemed to pull up ‘Respect’ and us seemingly exploiting…
(We take those accusations seriously.)
I’ll bite.
First question for you, how much health do Tower Lords have?
…If you answer is not ‘Enough for three people to take down in under 25 seconds’ then you haven’t been paying attention. The Tower Lord’s are terribly weak in health pools, if a group of YB got through the gate they could have easily killed the Lord as you guys were jumping off the citadel spawn cliffs and rushing upstairs.
Second question, how many people with full supply can repair the gate barely to close?
A couple people can. Especially if you want to cut off Yak’s reinforcements from running into tower! Which is good unless you see the superior rams at the gate, in the second screenshot. The most likely scenario that you guys won’t admit happened. If anyone is making excuses it is you guys, not us.
What happened then? YB took the gate, pushed into the tower, but had SBI reinforcements come in from behind, repair the gate as YB was finishing up the Lord (Second screenshot doesn’t show a green circle from the vantage point, you guys came in at the right time to force them on the west wall choke, as shown by the first screenshot).
And THAT all happened in a minute!
‘But no YB had to exploit-’
Shut up.
The only real interesting screenshots (of which aren’t in this thread anymore) were of a YB that built catapults at someone’s BL spawn to kill golems I guess? Did that post get infracted and the screens deleted or something? sigh whatever.
Anyways, as humorous as things have been, I have to say that if there is any respect I had for [TE] or really SBI in general, it was lost after reset night.
Back then I did not really know just how much you guys really like to run open-field ACs. Man, even with double the numbers you would pull a Protoss Turrent Rush across the map, in your keep, in your towers, in spawn, in camps- I think you might be getting the drift. Of all servers fought thus far, there have been a few pretty bad ones that run the same numbers you put out every prime-time. At the very least they had some semblence of skill and respect to try mowing down and going head to head, bloody good times.
But if you are so scared to fight with even numbers or greater numbers against benders without building ACs to supplement the backline you ALREADY have with those numbers? Done. Forget about it. That’s the fast-track to becoming worse players and it SHOWS.
Routinely getting bags from SBI zergs because they stack up not for buffs but for laying down prints…right in front of us has been rather farmable, but disappointing.
It became insulting at a certain point, so I now am under the assumption SBI is attempting to troll every server with open-field siege. I don’t take anything you guys say now with any amount of credit.
My best advice is to keep the siege in your towers and keeps for defense, or to help defend a hill with trebs. Otherwise fight with those kitten numbers, if you wipe big deal, LEARN from it. As much as I abhor what you have done for good fights this week, if you start training to get better now, maybe you might actually win in our prime-time and make our scores far tighter.
Peace.

PS: I am really curious about exploits into bay, are you referring to the fact we always golem-rush it to the point of paper when you try to pressure us in EBG or YBBL? Because last I checked everyone’s been doing that, and that too might give you the impression we are exploiting because its always blue.
its a good idea but since there is only 1 ramp up there to top level, it would be too easy to make AC hell from there and simply hold that ramp.
Well technically there is two, but both go to the same fairly large entrance at the 2nd floor.
People are creative in WvW, always coming up with new ideas on how to counter a certain new strategy. AC hell is a likely circumstance, but it only takes one creative zerg to find a way and cause the defense to break down into chaos.
I find it very appealing thinking about how an offense has pushed the defense to such a point where zergs are literally a floor or two apart on the amazing castle known as Stonemist.
Move that Lord up one level.
Yep. That’s all, because for some reason that lovely empty room above the Lord now serves no purpose than a place to store Cars- erm Golems, Fun Boxes, etc.
It adds another element for the defense to cover the ramps, and have siege placed at the very top of SM, in which the intrepid offense would have to mash keys and move up there to get to. Not to mention heights tend to make for fun battles.
Of course this is a direct buff to whoever defends, having their new final stand in an even better location imo. But wouldn’t the fights be even more glorious?
…..
I am also under the assumption people think SM is easy to cap, which may not be the case. If so then there might not be a need to move the lord…
But all that space wasted makes me sort of sad.
:(
Been sort of looking back and forth.
And…truthfully there isn’t an endgame for dedicated WvWers.
The Ranks are…simply there to append capabilities to the various mechanics and mechanisms of WvW, but they don’t really make players feel like they are growing as a character, in the same manner that PvE has with its various flavors of entertainment.
But at the same time I don’t think those really wanting to fight in WvW really need those stats to prove their dominance. No, instead, why not bring that horizontial progression that GW2 has been promoting to WvW, and I mean for real!
- WvW Unique Skins obtained through dedicated playing, whether it be rank restricted (50, 100, 150, 200, and so forth) or achievement based (Different levels of Dominator, Escort, etc).
- Make the WvW Titles (Those insane, terribly long to get ones?) have some sort of special meaning, perhaps a permanent buff.
- Unique Commander Icons. 100g? Pfft, Try killing 100 unique commanders based on their tags to get this bad-kitten silver commander icon… (Probably a low number but you get my drift).
- Incredibly difficult but noteworthy path to getting your legendaries only through WvW! (So unlikely, but one could hope)
Be creative here folks!
Need some help with this one:
Rising Sun from Final Fantasy Adventure
- Played on Flute, and starting on High Octave. Spaces and new lines indicate a few seconds delay. (9) changes the Octave, this one has a lot of notes going on, and the final line is hard with the tune shifting into the high octave at the last moment. Though I am still testing whether I can reduce the tone further but it seems there are overlapping notes in the tune. Ergo, this one is rather difficult to play!

Why you ask? Because when you have a bit of free time one might decide to do something like this…
Besides, for those with instruments picking up dust, why not share the weatlth and music?
So…here is my first entry!
Terra, From Final Fantasy 6 (Flute Section Only)
- Played on High Octave Only on the Flute, spaces indicate two second pauses, dashes indicate half-second pauses. Assume end of each line is a space as well.

It also might be worthwhile to critique and even improve on the works, to find the best version. I won’t say my interpretion above is the best, but if it gives people something to fiddle around with, that’s all the more greater!
Haven’t used berserker stance in a while. How does the condition duration functionality work?
Specifically, the new stance reduces condition duration on you by 100%.
This means that only Modified Conditions are allowed through, and any previous conditions before you apply the stance linger still.
You ignore any other new conditions.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/july-9-content-release-notes/
Warrior:
….Wait, isn’t this actually a huge change?
With Berserker Stance granting 100% Cond. Duration Reduction, having it go from a measly four seconds to eight seconds…might actually be something to look at.
Understandably people could food and rune towards a high enough value for Condition Reduction, but eight seconds people, EIGHT seconds!
You may now converse.
I have heavily thought about the mechanics of blind and AoEs…
I wonder what difference (good or bad) it would make if AoE abilities like Earthshaker caused Glancing Blows instead of flat-out missing every target.
- Restorative Strength now also removes blind on top of the other conditions it removes. Now warriors must waste a healing skill to remove blind, easily removed/interrupted.
- Vigerous Shouts heal and convert a condition on yourself into a boon (or remove a condition on yourself if too potent) Must now spend 30 points into Vitality to be viable in pvp.
- ‘Precise Strikes’ renamed to ‘Satisfying Strikes’: 33% chance to inflict bleeding on critical hits, a chance to cure a condition with each bleed tick (Cooldown: 2-3 seconds). Good Idea, however the problem is if your blinded you miss anyways and can’t remove the blind. Therefore this trait would never remove blind.
- Shrug It Off is changed: Any Modified Condition applied grants Berserker Stance and Regeneration, (Cooldown: 40 seconds, can be adjustable for balance) Berserker’s Stance isn’t that good, why have temporary -100% when you can get perma -65% with runes/food? Honestly it should go back to 25 seconds with a -20% stance duration.
Agreed on the notion that our healing skills mechanically could use a buff, I was going off a future presumption that they might be buffed in some manner, but yes it is very minor solution.
Just giving Vitality an alternative branch or build to go for.
I think the change to Precise Strikes might work in our favor much more situationally than you think, landing that crit for bleed initially gives us passive condition removal over the course of a fight. Of course we are more than likely to get pounced on initially so it is either way really. I like the change just on its own if anything.
Since runes and traits vary on all courses of the game…yes I went there, sPvP, WvW, and…actually no I can’t take PvE seriously enough, let’s just say sPvP and WvW. The recent buff to the stance paved the way for builds to use it directly at good times, a means to directly counter some mass-amounts of unmodified conditions some classes toss our way.
My ORIGINAL mark-up for Shrug It Off was the cooldown to be every 12 seconds, meaning 33% uptime on 100% condition negation if you had a modified condition on you. …But I think some people might find that broken. I actually have a few other ideas as well but I really wouldn’t mind my Restorative Strength change to be accompanied by the five second cooldown reduction on all healing skill actives that were mentioned during the trait patch but never implemented.
How about we provide some simple balance suggestions to the warrior so that we are not already pulling our hair out any longer over it?
Rather than buff utilities, I propose the best course of action would be to implement a sort of blind removal in a few traits we have, in that at least getting one would enable us to have some counter-play to the menace?
For instance….
- Restorative Strength now also removes blind on top of the other conditions it removes.
- Vigerous Shouts heal and convert a condition on yourself into a boon (or remove a condition on yourself if too potent)
- ‘Precise Strikes’ renamed to ‘Satisfying Strikes’: 33% chance to inflict bleeding on critical hits, a chance to cure a condition with each bleed tick (Cooldown: 2-3 seconds).
- Shrug It Off is changed: Any Modified Condition applied grants Berserker Stance and Regeneration, (Cooldown: 40 seconds, can be adjustable for balance)
Just some ideas. I reckon if we keep offering terrific ideas to assist warriors, we might get some ‘half-way’ appropriate change like Cleansing Ire, which seems so close to what we wanted…
