ANET made a mistake – it would be unfair to people who didn’t buy it during the limited time it was available to then give it to free.

Wait for the new skin – if you don’t like it I’m pretty certain you will get a in-game gem refund.

It is impossible to let that skin that was purchased stay as it matched cultural armor and broke the whole point of the skin system. If your character is human you can get the T3 skin (without the flames).
This is one reason why some people didn’t purchase it and were also very angry about it when it was released.

If I could only get two minor changes instantly they would be:
1) increased suppression – This affects both PvE and WvW. It is near impossible to co-ordinate large groups (Think temple of Balthazar when co-ordinations multiple pins and reminding people to HEAL, FEAR and STUN – so the NPCs are protected during the run.
Or even TEQ who the commanders have to educate the entire map – we hit the limit far too easily.
Now think WvW: BUFF, STACK,PUSH, STOP, FALLBACK,…). All of these commands come very rapidly. We even hit suppression when trying to explain roles/sort out groups or ask questions. Most commanders will use the map or team chat for the good of the server. Those who decide to have random conversations which are not game related will be reported by the players. The suppression often affects whispers, say, team chat – and can stop progress completely turning a good fight into an instant loss.
Even in WvW it is difficult to co-ordinate without voice comms and most people don’t like to bother with that (makes it even more difficult).
2) Different pin colours (commander choice) – even if it the same Dorito shape for the moment.

I would love to see these as an early Xmas present (pretty please) with a refund via in-game email to those of us who have multiple commander pins – if it becomes account wide (some peeps have 8 commander pins- that money they will put back into the game to buy other stuff and ensure they don’t feel stung). It’s going to really hurt people if this change happens and they have only just purchased a new pin recently.

I agree with many of the suggestions and think the system does need a major overhaul: added functionality, macros (we don’t want to have to use third party systems to type “/supplyinfo” or “x is ready – push here” for example. These macros should be commander configurable) and many more ideas which have been suggested.

I don’t really want to see a major obstacle preventing PvE commanders (there are some fantastic ones out there) moving into WvW unable to PIN up when there are none available. A pin (learning) is generally better than no PIN at all. I do want to see multiple pins in WvW to stop the single pin/Zerg mentality – this encourages smaller groups with different objectives that can be co-ordinate together more easily which is made possible by different colours.

Is there any way we can get a list of short term goals to vote on?
-> get these in the next build before Xmas?

And a series of long term goals to vote on?
(Order of importance to you and what type of commander you are).

- it must be pretty hard to work out what is most important to people via forum threads (it doesn’t cover the entire player base of commanders).
Possibly get an in-game poll going to current active commanders (who pin up) who are in-game ?

This would also help get coverage for future changes and ensure all commanders participate in the discussion.

I’m not going to say much more than this- but if it requires a specific drop of armour (think like a precursor weapon) to make it – this will be a nightmare for sure.

At risk of derailing this thread further:
There is a risk every world boss will become this difficult – how then will people cope with a major reduction in killing world bosses?
It is something that ANET has stated may happen in the very near future – they have started with Teq first as what I see is an experiment.

I don’t want an answer to that scary thought in this thread

Feel free to start a new thread on how that would make you feel before they do it and reduce the Jormag timer down to 10 mins for example with no other mechanic changes as it stands (Prehaps you would have to decide is it Teq, Jormag, Grenth or opening Arah on a nightly reset with a full compliment of people!)

There are a large number of players who still have not completed Teq for many reasons (or even have a single achievement yet !).

I have fought Teq about 5 times and have TWO ascended weapon box drops !

Yes – that is right TWO (that’s RNG for you hey? – these odds should not be that high).
I do know what it feels like to get the reward, I also understand the frustrations felt by many of the players who either get disconnected (Main JQ) during the match up and would love another opportunity to get it killed after waiting for over an hour for the boss to spawn and wait another 23 hrs for the next opportunity.

I want to hear from more players that fall in buckets <2> and <3> as many of them don’t want to join a specific single guild to kill one dragon and they want to remain in the guilds which hold there friends and closest allies.

I want to help server worlds develop and be better at this as a whole- even if that means training, reaching out to people and slowly improving the odds of success for the greater good of the entire player base.

Other world bosses currently scale we’ll – this one is very difficult without a hard-map cap and disproportionate to the others.

I welcome more feedback from players that are unable to do this at the major server reset times.

You must be one of these individuals who can make the server resets of JQ who stands a very good chance of winning. My bucket <1> – and I am very happy for you !
This is obvious from your posts.

I want this to be accessible to people who are not in TTS or people who cannot make the server resets.

There do seem to be plenty of worlds which don’t really stand much of a chance of winning. TTS is a NA only guild specifically formed to start killing that one dragon (and they certainly don’t cover all the timezones for various groups in NA) and they also have said it is difficult to get all the organisation planned out and done.
I don’t know which guilds were formed in the EU to kill this dragon (if any).

I don’t know if those overflow stats are included or not – I know from experience there are many standing around in Lions Arch who don’t even realise who or what Teq is !
I want to ensure that they have a chance of being able to experience this awesome content and enjoy an epic battle, participate and enjoy the encounter.

I’m very glad you are happy with the current status quo
– you fit the category 1: I do it at server reset and have fun.

I am more interested in the other category of players and there opinions right now.
This is not to dilute your opinion (we hear you loud and clearly), but I feel the rewards should be more accessible for the other category groups of players and make it more mainstream than it is. Even TTS has some major difficulties and problems organising these matches at non-server reset times (has been stated before in other threads).

This was one thing they actually told us about well in advance – it was nice of them.
I just wonder when the “legendary” armor and trinkets etc will be released.

Do I upgrade everything now or do a skip knowing it will be possibly superseded in the next 6 months with something better.

Decisions, decisions – such a hard thing to predict what to do best and when.

Nope – it’s not skill lag if you WP away from the Zerg to another location on map and your skills still fail to activate.
I have even run to the other end of the map to a very quiet area – where you are less likely to be affected by any zerging that may be going on in the map.
I have seen this in both PvE (high and low population maps) and WvW (often hear of it in TS – requiring some people to restart the client in worst case scenarios). We tend to hear about it first via the voice comms (in TS).

Skill lag during large zergs for the most part has been fixed. This is where your skills refuse point blank to fire even after the Zerg fest has finished and will not reactivate (even after 10mins) until you do something about it (die, use a WP or in severe cases restart the client).

Yup – still waiting for feedback here.
I have lost equity, the leaderboard are meh (players with too much time or have a convient holiday time period – I’m EU during a thanksgiving holiday they were released) and makes this useless.

How much time have I had to spend doing full fractal runs ?
Twice – that’s all. I have a busy real life with many real world interruptions- finding a slot which works in case I get a bad run is for the weekends when I am lucky. I can chose pretty much to skip any particular fractal side effect I don’t really like. It wiped out many weeks of effort during a difficult 6 months.

I now have less access to the loot table that I used to get (<less chance of an ascended weapon box for sure – I was running high lvl 40s or so every week). This is definite equity loss and potential reward loss.

I have seen all the complaints (no tonics available, no fractal boxes available yet, I doubt ascended armor will get added in for a while yet). The emergency fixs to fractals (due to what seemed like a rushed ill planned release/hash of old content that was out out) put a kabosh to fixing loot problems or addressing certain fractals correctly.

Please give feedback.

Originally when my post was deleted (and not merged) it was taken away for discussion. I am trying to patiently await the honest feedback from the ANET team and the results of the “discussions”. The US holidays are now over – please get back to us with something.

There are currently two schools of thought:
I’m fine and happy – why:
<1> *I do this at server reset and que for up to an hour to get in. I can make this time." You are on Jade Quarry – so I’m pretty certain you are in this group.

The second group of people are the following:
<2> “We are not on the primary world that does this or cannot make the server reset”- there is a large amount of players actually in this bucket without any achievements.
These are players such as EU / SEA who you want to encourage onto a NA server to help keep your WvW going in what would otherwise be quiet times.

The same principle applies here for EU servers – I don’t know how frequently NA players in the EU (or oceanics) perform Teq at non-reset times and frequently.

To state your opinion – feel free to qualify which bucket you fall into:
<1> – I do it at reset and que – have fun. Good chance of success.
<2> – I can’t make reset have to guest to another world for a non-reset chance.
Also state which timezone you are in, and which world you are in, if you are happy or not.
<3> – I just don’t get the chance to do it, but would love to still if only it was at a reasonable hour for my timezone. State which timezone you are on and what server.

Here is how the RNG worked in GW1:
With GW1 RNG was different for most weapons/drops- you knew where they would drop and with a reasonable chance.
This allowed people to concentrate on this area which rewarded skill, teamwork and RNG luck.

Underworld for example – Crystaline swords, mini dhuum
This was viable with skilled people to perform this between 10-20 mins (even after dhuum appeared) which made the RNG aspect of this tolerable.

It still is possible to do it this quickly.

Yes – solo runs did exist or 3 man pathing and selling the paths which created a good income. This was nerfed – I also expect that Arah paths will suffer the same fate ensuring that a team is required to get this done (the number of solo players is increasing steadily and puts the economy out of whak).
Other exploits will also be closed down over time – this game is only just over a year old.

In GW1 – I must have done at least 100-200 runs of UW before I got the mini, but did also get several crystaline swords in the progress. This was in teams, solo’d and 3 manned over a period of 6-12 months. This dungeon was at least challenging and rewarded skill properly. You were also rewarded with ectos which were required for FoW armor (the other reason I did these runs) as it was the only place it dropped (more tolerable RNG). It was at least around a 1 in 10 runs (10%) one of your party members would get either the mini or the sword. You felt happy for them when it happened also.

FoW runs could also be done in a similar time (10-20) mins with a good team for the obs shards and that sword ! The RNG here wasn’t too bad. It rewarded team work and skill correctly IMO.

The mini polar bear was a very bad example of RNG. There were players who would do this daily for every hour when the dungeon was released in the hope that they would get it. Some did this for years and never got one. A good run took about 5-6 mins solo (wasn’t hard) just plain boring with only the polar bear as a potential drop.

It is completely different than the RNG in GW2.

I have heard of many people via exploits like 16min Arab path runs (3g), exploiting CM explorables (<10mins). This doesn’t seem to be skill or playing correctly IMO. The Arah path with a team should take 1-3 hours (not 16mins solo).

I have never managed to get more than about 4g/hour – as I like to do various different things in the game than repeat the same thing over and over again. Many if the exotics if they drop are worth 1-2g from the world bosses as they are such a common drop.
There are many Arah paths being sold where a player is soloing the dungeon to sell the end path – these kind of things tend to get shutdown eventually. Here yes you could be earning large amounts of money in that 2-3 hours windows but this seems to go against the GW2 principles of co-operative play.

We have not had a round of account bans recently – I can see one incoming.

The cause is simple : “players feel the precursor is unobtainable and need to resort to these tactics or exploits.” Which is a shame. I am not saying everyone is doing this just a small % which helps support the crazy high prices.

I don’t want to do a mindless champ farm where people are getting 7g/hour either (no skill involved there either). FoTM will only net you a few gold at best for 1-2 hours effort.
A world boss farm which covers all Orrt temples, shatterer, jormag will net you about 10-40 rares that is with a high MF (150%) and doing the pre-events.. That certainly is not in the region of gold income you suggest according to my calculations. Yes – I could sell them all but I put them in the MF each day for the hope of a precursor (>1 year).
This at least has some degree of skill and teamwork involved (>champ box farming).

A CoF path x 2 – yes 20 mins for 2g – but who wants to run this every day?

I am extremely concerned that people are reaching for exploits to get 800g or so after changes to runs are now account wide.
Every rare that I have ever had and most exotics (which I have not equipped on my char) has been thrown in the MF in the hope for the precursor.
No luck – it’s certainly more than >8000 rares and>100+ exotics over the course of the year. (Feel free to check my account John! – many players I also know are in this situation where they have put over 600-700g worth of weapons in over time and have not yet received any precursor and others got this one there first try).

I have never liked the idea “to buy something” and would rather farm it with skill and achieve it as a drop (wIth reasonable chances).

The RNG aspects of GW1 and GW2 are completely different.

More money can be made by spending 1-2 hours buying something off the TP for resale at a more reasonable price than doing stuff in the world. This seems easily the fastest way to obtain that precursor.

It doesn’t feel legendary at the moment at all – very little skill involved and just pure player frustration. This is why I take you back to King Arthur and his legendary tasks involved to achieve the weapon.

Hi Bill,

Your team did some fantastic work in reducing the WvW skill lag – it has been a major improvement during the large Zerg battles. There is however one crazy thing that occurs for some players in a map (infrequent) and rare (PvE – low lv areas, high lvl areas and WvW).

The skills refuse to fire at all <they do not grey out or activate> (like we used to get in large WvW but this is seen in PvE now also) – seems once the client is restarted everything will work absolutely fine. Often porting to a waypoint or dying is enough to reset everything and the skills continue to work.

The occasional instances that this has occurred I collected a wireshark network captures and everything seemed normal enough (not a high number of packet transmissions or retransmissions – a few were present). No forced client disconnection occurs and would be able to run around a map for long periods of time without skills firing off still (>10 mins).

All network traces & ping plotter graphs look normal (no major packet loss or delays also confirmed in the wireshark traces). I’m starting to think this is some firm of client side bug (it’s rare when it occurs) or a partial desync with the client and server.

I know that it is really difficult to optimise and find all these bugs – hopefully this one once fixed will really make a big difference

The problem is when mistakes are made like this people don’t forget.

- I have not yet lost hope that something sensible will be done.

I have done the new fractals (>lvl 30) and to be honest I’m not that impressed with the changes. Most of the items are rehashes of old bits of temporary content and a few bug fixs (and lots more new bugs). The equity loss still hurts many of the causal players who are slowly leaving up at weekends or no longer have much time to progress with fractals (due to the length of time it takes).

Well I must still be unlucky then…1 year on (no RNG drop in MF-plenty of exotics and rares put in). No drop in PvE (>1000 hrs doing events/items on main lvl 80 <world bosses, dungeons, FoTM etc- this is not afk time, it’s time spent at lvl 80 doing high end stuff).

It does seem that some people are exceptionally lucky and have had 2+ pre drops from champ farming (from the mindless frosty gorge farming) since the change was release (that is all they now do – mindless champ farming).

I would love to know what was meant by “more obtainable”- the main thing that changed was the ability to earn more gold in game causing rampant inflation across many aspects of the game.

I’m now getting at least 10-30 rares per day (if these were sold in TP) for about 2-3 hrs farming effort (~150% MF) – would only net me 4g/day. With the precursors hovering around the 400-600g mark that’s 100 days of farming. It doesn’t help that most FoTM exotic drops or rings are also “account bound” which cannot be sold. These can only be put in the forge or. Salvaged at best.

I must be doing something really wrong to have this great luck !
RNG only alone (which I’m sorry really doesn’t seem random) – becomes mindless and extremely boring in the hope that one of these things drop.

Let’s take an example of a true “legendary” weapon according to myths/history:
King Arthur’s base was at a place called Camelot. Here he built a strong castle. His knights met at a Round Table. They carried out acts of chivalry such as rescuing damsels in distress and fought against strange beasts. They also searched for a lost treasure, which they believed would cure all ills – this was the ‘Quest for the Holy Grail’. (Que – Monty Python references and the champion rabbit in FoTM).

Under the guidance of Merlin, Arthur had obtained a magical sword from The Lady Of The Lake. This sword was called ’Excalibur" and with this weapon he vanquished many foes.

Please- where is the scavenger hunt to find these things, I have explored the lands of Tyria many times, done everything in the world several times and yet- nada.

It’s only the precursor which I need ! The mats, materials to make it – got enough for several legendary’s (and keeping them so I can actually make the legendary).

Did a JQ Teq run today (-3 hrs) from the reset for EU peeps on the NA server. (Approx 9pm UTC).

Many folks in the map had not killed Teq before (and still did not have the achievements from the meta).
I agree it is very complex to get sorted and we had a fantastic effort and JQ didn’t do too badly at all.

We had about 80 people+ into the map (not a hard-map cap):
*Teq was down to about 33% of health at the end
*Was organised 10 mins before he was about to appear.

A big thanks to everyone in JQ who turned up from lions arch, cursed shore and frost gorge.
[I promise to organise more of these!- we will get him killed at non-reset times also]

(Watch for more of these runs between for those EUs who cannot make the NA server reset on JQ. You will have to be in lions arch for those “ATTENTION: Jade Quarry messages – you know which commanders/guilds are organising them for you for the good of the JQ world with the big boss events on a regular basis at non-reset times: Karka, Balthazar and now Teq!”)

I do agree that many of these points in this thread would help revitalise Teq.
There are so many players who have now given up completely and have been turned off by how this world boss currently operates.

Now onto the constructive bits of how to fix this:

I really feel that Teq could do with some basic scaling items being fixed:
1) reduce chance of champions appearing at turrets if too many players stroll into the turret areas. This will encourage people to go up to the DPS kill zone to degen Teq.
<6 turrets are not so bad – but the scaling if many too many people are at the beach does not help>. I think we may still need 6 to keep scales down etc – without a major rework of the battle.

2) Definitely work on reduction of the number fingers/frequency appearing or poison dmg circles/length.
-> I never understood why a dragon has fingers appear randomly in the ground (do they somehow detach from his body?)
This seems to be a major killer with the poison condition which lasts a long time and cannot be easily removed.

3) Shockwaves – these seem so unrealistic. It’s a wave of water that can be jumped over not a tsunami – so why do two waves down players?
This really should be a knockdown yes – but enough dmg to kill players ?

  • Players are not all going to run PVT builds just to survive Teq – this hurts casual players most who will not have more than 1 armor set. They are probably using rare armours (exotics if we are lucky).

4) Event timer – an additional 5-10 mins on the timer would rejuvenate this battle for sure and allow a non-hard map cap to complete it.
(15 mins seems unrealistic when claw of Jormag has a 30 min timer ??).
- completely agree on this point 100%.

5) Dead player scaling: dead players should not count as part of the scaled event.
-> this would help encourage people to go res using a waypoint without affecting the battle as much as it currently does. 20 people dead on the beach will get you champions to fight – once they WP out , no more champions. Not everyone has speedy reactions to go find a waypoint and res out.

6) Agro/finger reset between phases – these hang about between the phases and need to be killed. Loose foes can do major damage as the battery phases start if not delt with before the cannons appear. This makes the battery phase even more fragile than it needs to be.

The complex organisation of scale of this event is enough that most servers have completely given up on it (even at reset).
Many people were unaware that JQ did it at reset and asked do people still do that thing ?
(This is a common reaction I get from people who are not around at reset as it’s too late or early for them – think APAC/EU on NA servers).

It would be interesting to know the number of players who still do not have the full meta achievements or how many people actually do this out of the entire server population. The quality of kills seems to be going down even on some regular server groups (at reset) as time is progressing and people have got the drop they want (or meta) and are no longer doing the event.

I know this thread may irk people who are happy with the status-quo and want it to remain hard to ensure prices of the drops remain high and unobtainable for many. (It affects your potential profit – I know you won’t like it. You have had exclusivity of this event now for a while to have had the chance to profit from it in a big way).

The rewards are good enough for sure – 14K karma, 3 gold for 100% success each day/reset.

The depth of organisation is very complex with too high a failure ratio % as it currently stands.
Anything to make this more open for the community I feel would be a good thing.

When trying to lead (commanders pin is up and active) it can sometimes be very easy to hit the “excessive messaging” problem.

This can sometimes make it difficult to co-ordinate and ensure success in difficult areas such as temple of Balthazar invasion (due to the need to issue commands to the groups of people). We will often talk in map chat or local “say” whilst leading many different groups to ensure success such as “heal all NPCs”, “forward team to point X”, “defence group to point Y” , “Fear/Stun Enemies”, “res NPCs”

Please resolve this issue so when our Pins are up – we don’t have to resort to “anti-excessive messaging” tactics that our lovely gold sellers exceed in. It can hit during critical points during a long battle chain which can lead to problems,

Anyone else who believes this is a problem please chime in.

Most commanders are honestly trying to help the server (and new players out) out and would like this limitation scaled back.

Agony Infusions - Bank Collectable Tab please

Hi ANET,

Title:. Bank Collection tab for AR infusion resistance collectables.
Please add the following:
250xAR (lvl 1)
250xAR (lvl 2)
250xAR (lvl 3)

All the way up to 250xAR (lvl N).

I would suggest N = 10 would be a good start. (I would like to see N= 20 after that).
These items are already ‘collectables’ and need a bank Collectable tab slot.

It was also stated that higher levels of fractals have a chance of dropping > +1.
This way players can work on progressing to higher levels of AR slowly as intended without taking up excessive bank slot spaces.

This is probably not a big problem yet – but could easily become an issue as the need for agony resistance increases and these items start to stack up with each run.

I think before you state if you for or against compensation you should say if / what level you are at prior to the patch.

Generally:
People < lvl 30 don’t care and will not support compensation (especially if it means they don’t get something that other players may get if it’s an exclusive item or hard to get).
People lvl 30-50 do support the call for compensation.
Players lvl > 50 are really furious and want compensation.

I think Teq should scale better.
Currently EU peeps on NA servers get a raw deal – so do NA peeps on EU servers.
It is really hard for them to organise a large group across the entire world base to get a Teq kill.
Many servers are only doing once at reset (if you are lucky).

Consistently right now you almost need a “hard map cap” for a win. A “soft map cap” is almost no guarantee for a win.

There is no reason that 50-80 players in this zone should be unable to kill Teq. As it stands I doubt that even 80 people in the map would be able to kill Teq.

Doesnt seem to be skill-key/lag binding related.

Seems to be a definite client-side only issue.

Is there anything can be done to automatically reset ‘bugged’ events without a server reset?

So after the last reset: Dwayna is bugged again – ‘beat up malchor’ 46hrs+ (Jade Quarry).

The event worked for 4 days before getting stuck again.

-This I interpret as you would receive these buffs even in FoTM (PvE) regardless of who the host is and where the instance is. This is how it used to work.

The main thing is it is now working properly (now receive the buff)- it looked a temporary glitch.

Okay here are the screen shots – when I was in a group.
The robust ‘was’ lost – note the 1K HP loss.

I have teseted it solo – it works fine (now).

The good thing is : you don’t take any armor damage by doing this.

This stops people zoning back to LA (mid-boss) re-entering the fractal and helping kill a boss. This is to prevent a potential exploit as I understand it.

Correct – you cannot do this.
You have to use 1x simple infusion AND 1x Agony infusion.

They are different infusion slots.
This is why the cost has gone up in a BIG way.

Thad you are confirming my fears that this new content is becoming too bad for new and casual players.

I like this bit a lot – "We needed skill and not only gear. "
This is meant to be the whole principle of the game – skill > gear.
You don’t need legendary/ascended – exotics or rare in most areas will do.
Now at higher levels in FoTM you will want those ascended weapons for the additional AR (as it currently stands) or upgrade the existing agony infusions you have.

With FoTM you need gear (Ar resistance) and skill without the both combined there is not much point starting. With the jade maw – you didn’t need everyone with MAX AR to allow others in a guild to level up. With the new bosses this becomes more difficult due to no real safe res points during the encounter (think Mia and cannons).

I found it “fun” doing FoTM lvl 20 without any AR and dodging the AR being dished out from the end bosses – this now looks more difficult than ever without being carried extensively.

I have looked at this extensively new “infused rings/ascended backpacks” no longer come with the inherent +5 AR. Yes – you can put a simple infusion on to get you +5 AR.
But you are still missing +5 AR which you used to get as part of the infusion process via the mystic forge.

This will now cost you approx an extra 5g/item. It’s documented and fully explained in the patch notes.

Infused rings or backpacks no longer have a +5 AR – they now need to be crafted with reaganets using

This has now dramatically increased the cost (compared to previously) and makes a casual player find it even more difficult to obtain 55 AR. Currently it increases the cost by 15gold for each character (based on TP for the +5 agony infusions @ 5g each) – previously this was 0g when infusing a ring via the mystic forge or when an infused ring dropped from FoTM.

The reason why people are getting +10 infusions is to ensure they get 0% tick dmg at higher levels due to the new side-effects and some harder end bosses.

Given that FoTM will now also officially go beyond lvl 50 – a few (small group) of players are preparing themselves in case the cost of these goes “up” again.

This becomes expensive :
Additional AR from agony infusion slots: there are only three gear slots that can currently hold agony infusions: the two ring slots and the back item. Although you could create agony infusions of any level, the cost becomes prohibitively expensive. For example for single +13 Agony Infusion, you have to spend 61g for the Thermocatalytic Reagents alone. To get additional +39 AR from three such upgrades requires a minimum of 183g and to get additional 45 AR from three +15 Agony Infusion upgrades means spending over 735g.

Yup it’s an increased gold sink – that’s the only way I can look at it.
It’s not just the infusions that are required but a lot of gold also – this previously was not required for the +5 AR (inherent).

The reason I ask is because that I thought it used to apply (I remembered Fridays as a good day to do FoTM due to buffs).

I don’t see anything in the wiki which mentions that these buffs do not apply in dungeons or FoTM:

You used to be able to start at the lvl 36 in this scenario if you were in the same instance if LA. That’s how I remembered it used to work.

It would have been improved in my opinion if the “infused” items kept the +5 AR and you had the option to make it a higher level at a later date. The number of +1 infusions required and runs seems high to get back to a +5 pre FoTM changed state.

Hi All,

It seems the WvW bugs do not function inside FoTM – is this to be expected?

How do I know this..
Standing inside Lions Arch – I have 14.4K health points (with a 8% robust WvW server wide buff)

Once I step inside FoTM (any level) my health significantly decreases. (Approx. by 1K).
The description of the rewards for the WvW is to give bonuses to their home world even when guesting on other servers.

As far as I see this means that we are loosing out on our server wide WvW buffs whilst inside FoTM (artisan – increased chance of critical, energetic – increased endurance gain, scavenger – increased gold, robust – increased health, defender – increased defense vs monsters, wisdom – increased Xp/kill, medic – increased healing).

I have never noticed loosing WvW server side buffs before in FoTM – is this new or an unintended feature?

This seems pretty easy to test by walking from Lions Arch into FoTM and watching your health decrease.

You will need them to have +10 AR on to be able to do the higher levels. It is already noted that the dropping of the +1 AR infusions will take a long time to get back to +10 AR on a ring. So I am still confused – how is this an improvement?

If anything it seems to increase time gating for people to do higher levels (especially new players).

People now have to work much harder (if starting from the new) to get to the same point many of us are already at with AR 50/55 that can do lvl 50 right now.

You also have to rework back to lvl 50 to get to the same previous loot table. = increased grind to get what you had access to before via daily chests.

Nothing saying they won’t reset WvW ranks and you will not lose WxP.

ANET has been constantly increasing the grind, increasing the effort required and resetting the equity required to progress to the same level (just look at the infused recipes not giving +5 AR inherently now, Halloween recipes – these are many examples made in the last two months).

The goal posts are moving far too rapidly for my liking.

From the patch notes: Improvements of infused gear
Newly created or dropped infused ascended equipment will have empty Agony Resistance slots.

How is this an improvement?
I look at this as a backward step – let me explain:

  • Previously you would get a +5 AR agony resistance on infused items automatically.

Now we have to grind for an agony resistance infused drop. This now increases the effort (not decreases) to get +5 AR back on this item.
The effort to infuse the prototype fractal backpack is expensive (>250 ecto) and this used to give us an automatic +5 AR when it got infused. Now we get a slot for AR which we now have to put an agony infusion into.
(Wiki still has the old recipe list here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Beta_Fractal_Capacitor_ – where you get a +5 AR when it is infused. This recipe looks like it is currently bugged from other posts).

This increases the costs, time and effort to get back to the +5 AR resistance when previously infusing items. I fail to understand how this is an improvement – if someone could explain to me how increasing the effort and grind required is an improvement please do.

It doesn’t matter if the last 19 or 20 levels were not the same,
All people are going to do in a few weeks is lvl 50!

People will level up there personal level to 50 this way.
They will be skipping all the difficult instabilities and not seeing most of the content.
People will see one instability (lvl 50).

It’s still equity lost.
I don’t see the point – I really don’t.

There is nothing stopping another reset down to lvl 30 again in 6 months (with no warning) .
I would like ANET to give an iron cast guarantee that they will not do another equity loss like this again.

Note: WvW are going to account bound – let’s see if they reset your WvW ranks to lvl 10 (this is another form of equity loss). This for many people would be a massive loss of WxP points.

The whole episode has been very badly handled, badly thought out and poorly implemented.
