So i went with withdraw, needle trap, caltrops, thieves guild and ambush. i managed to kill a sentry, but thats it.
Nsp was nice enough to let me duel one of there lowbies that was entertaining i near had him beat when one of there thieves hit me for 16k . not a very productive night but a fun one.

Go unarmed! Caltrops, Scorpion Wire, Shadowstep, and then Mug + whatever you steal from opponents.
Withdraw + Caltrops + Ambush + shadowstep + thieve’s guild. No weapons, no stealth. Run around dodging, laughing, and hoping your thieves are enough to get the job done.
Pro-tip: All of those skills can still be used while holding fireworks.

No /laugh or /dance for me. I keep things classy and pop fireworks or spike people as a baby quaggan instead.

Geez, I hope you’re exaggerating. I’m still less than halfway through acquiring my first legendary and would rather play through Battletoads without a game genie than even think about going for a second one.

I’ve been maining a P/P in wvw since long before the buff to pistol mastery. I chose to go with full evasion and zero stealth in the build, and even though I know I’m handicapping myself with my weapon/skill choices, it’s been way more fun to play my evasive gunslinger than any of my other four level 80 characters. I still do quite well with it despite its shortcomings and can hold my own just fine in 1vX situations.
All I really want is a faster rate of fire on Vital Shot and for Body Shot to be re-worked into either a lunging cone attack (Spray’n’Pray) or a stationary evasive aoe (Gun-kata, for those familiar with the movie Equilibrium). I’m more than happy with everything else in the set because it synergizes well with a kiting, evasive play-style.
Please don’t take this as insulting, because I’m just going to be blunt here. WvW <> sPvP. Especially tournaments.
Furthermore, P/P has literally nothing that synergizes, in the slightest, with a “Kiting, evasive play-style”. Sword Mainhand (S/D In particular) does that with its teleports (and in S/D’s case FS). D/D condi does that with DB and to some extent DD. SHbow certainly supports a “kiting, evasive play-style” with Inf arrow and disabling shot, and to a lesser extent, choking gas and cluster bomb (our only range 1200 weapon set attack)
Unload is a 1.75s cast you can’t dodge or evade during. There are no snares or roots in P/P, and no personal speed boosts. No teleports, no retreats, no immobilize, no stuns. It’s only got 900 range.
I’m glad you have fun with it, and that it works for you – but that doesnt change the fact that its an underpowered, broken set in much need of some significant attention.
The fact that YOU aren’t finding success with P/P doesn’t mean that the set needs big, sweeping changes. But hey, if you want to argue to get my weapon set buffed, then by all means do so.

I agree, but I don’t think it will happen until Devon works out a new ranking system. It’s clear that on the bottom, there are 7 servers which could play together on a rotating basis without major washouts (ET, FC, HoD, GoM, NSP, DR, IoJ). Here is hoping they figure it out soon.

It seems GoM is the new IoJ butttt at least nsp have enough to keep them occupied, for the most part in oceanic times.

I personally would like to see all of these “boss roaming groups” that DR seems to talk about. All I’ve been witness to so far is unorganized 4-12 man fights which are by all means not bad but I wanna see the big baddies moreThere’s a few things I’d like to say about this match up though… :

GET@ME BADZ!!!!!!Yeah, this match-up seems lighter on the roaming groups than what I was hoping for. Even a few of our old foes from NSP that we were looking forward to fighting again seem to be sitting in zergs more and roaming less. I did manage to get a good 1v1 with a Btsy and a 2v2 with those EDGE guys, but that’s about it. Everyone else seems eager to duck into guards or their zerg at the first sign of trouble.
Still hoping to catch Oozo’s crew out in the field and see how we stack up against them. And XOXO/SPCA… where y’at? I miss PAXA
I’ve killed many a RH but I haven’t seen you and your more organized group yet… It’s a shame. From what I’ve seen us and SPCA like to play in GoM’s BL, and we rarely if ever go to EB, so that could account for why we aren’t meeting each other in a loving embrace.

Ah, well that’s the problem then. When Pierre’s not running around the map with his new Commander Zerg Zerg dorito up, we’re usually doing stuff in the other borderlands. As for EB, we avoid that place like the plague. We’ll have to make it a point to hang out in our own BL more often. We’ve got some new blood in the guild, and there’s no better way to get everyone up to speed than by throwing ourselves at some other strong roaming groups until we get it right.
