Yeah, a really valid point
+1
Sounds pretty interesting, but I think that shorter matches would be a lot more sutiable for this, the chances of ever having to go on till 500 points are incredibly slim imo
Reviving someone should require you to stop what your doing and heal that person (or use an ability to revive them). I understand rally in pve, but pvp it should be a conscious choice to stop what your doing to save your friend, or continue killing your enemy.
Where the downed mechanic really shines imo is when you come to save your downed ally fighting your downed enemy, with the enemy having more health. The fact that you have to quickly choose if you should kill the enemy with damage, stomp them or revive your ally instead provides a lot of depth
I didn’t read all the posts above, but here’s my opinion anyway: The fracal rewards are so special because you can’t really get them from anywhere; you can’t buy them on the tradingpost for one thing. I like the new rewardstrack because it means that PvP-players can get a lot of cool stuff by playing PvP, but I really don’t think they should be able to obtain everything. In my opinion certain things should have additional prestige associated with them, for example: if you see someone with a balthazar back piece you know that they have been playing PvP and if you see someone with a fractal weapon you know that they have been playing fotm. So I think that a fotm-track would be going a bit too far
It’s a wonderfull mechanic, it could probably be slightly improved though. I myself get really annoyed by the fact that there is no chance whatsoever for my Thief to beat a Ranger in downed state, even if I down them say 5 seconds before I go down myself. Not sure if they are overpowered, or if Thieves are weaker in downed state because they get so much mobility instead :P
http://www.twitch.tv/kges streams once a week, really small but quite beginner-friendly :)
Are you aware that dungeon armours/weapons skins were obtainable in pvp for over 1.5 year?
And were increadibly time-consuming to get, and if you got them or not was based on luck
Yeah, this sounds quite reasonable imo, the casters are incredibly easy to kill, even though you might take a fair amount of damage in the process
The rewards are more than enough, if you’re playing PvP you’re supposed to do it for fun, getting rewards (about one reward per game, that’s a lot!) is just a bonus and some incentive for people to try PvP out in the first place
They removed Raid on the Capricorn because not having underwater combat in PvP would make it more friendly towards new players, and it wasn’t very engaging (and probably not balanced) anyway
I don’t think removing the tracks is a good solution, I’m mostly a PvP player and I love them. I think that bringing PvE and PvP closer together is awesome. It sounds really weird that people only farm chests and don’t care about winning. When you win you progess on the reward tracks faster (I think? That’s what it feels for me at least), and farming dungeons is a faster way to get those rewards, possibly except for those weapons because you get them all the time (on the dungeon reward tracks that is)
I think it is a bit early to tell, but it does seem like my Thief is getting his butt handed to him, more than usual :P
Removing it is unnecessary, it might not be suitable for solo queue though. Even better would be to improve the way crowd control works, making it balanced and more skill based, but that’s probably not easy at all xD
Keep in mind that if you do not have shoulders or a helm, the base stats are still applied. You only lose the looks.
Oh, well that makes sense! I was worried because I thought I would have less armor then people with shoulder pads, if it’s only the looks then I can see why they did this. This seems like quite interesting character progression :D
Is there any way that I can get shoulder armor for my PvP character without going into PvE?
I guess that crowd control is not balanced between the classes, but skyhammer really isn’t that bad, it feels like people don’t want to stay away from edges but still complain when they fall off :P
I think it might be because there’s few players playing, but I’m not certain :P If it’s not, then it should certainly be fixed, there’s nothing as embarrassing as to be stomped by a rabbit player xD
Yes, things you have to earn with skill > things you have to earn with grind.
It’d be great to see seasons with temporary titles and ranks that reset every season.
I think there should be rewards both for grind and for skill, though the ones for skill should be more prestigiuos :P If you suck at the game but still play a lot, why not get at least some reward for trying?
honestly I like that idea, once you hit 80 you get dragon finisher, but after that you get rank 10 rabbit again but with increase in points necessary to get it.
That would mean that you wouldn’t get matched up with people with the same rank, if the system couldn’t identify who has been rank 80 before. I think that a seperate system from the ranks, like prestige would be better
This could be cool as well: The players in the top team on both EU and US servers get a cool title, if they loose versus another team, they loose that title and that team gets it instead, a bit like king of the hill. Some incentive for continuing to play would have to be added to avoid ppl who got the title from stopping to play; one thing could be that you automatically loose the title if you don’t play for a while
A prestige system after rank 80 would be great, 80 would still be a long-term goal for new players, and the prestige system would be a long-term goal for veteran players. If you already have rank 80 I don’t think that the rewards have to be incredibly flashy, you’re probably playing PvP because you think it’s fun if you’ve come that far.
It’s still important that people can see that you have a high prestige, titles and finisher could be cool way to do this, maybe a star by your name, similar to the one you get for map completion in PvE? Cool back pieces could be awesome, and maybe add something similar to the selfless potion that we saw during the Attack on Lion’s Arch?
As long as it’s never ending, and other people can actually notice how high prestige I have I’ll be happy; the rank cap should probably stay at 80
Woah, took ages to read that through, but I do agree with you, I will miss the really long-term goals a LOT! Some sort of infinite ranking system would be awesome, what I liked with the old ranking system was that it was virually infinite and the rewards were cooler that simple titles
Some other sort of ranking that was infinite and gave you cool finisher would be awesome, though I’m a bit sad the current ranking system couldn’t be that long-term goal
Aye, same with steal and shadow step often placing you inside a rock or tree. I meant with experience it becomes viable.
I’ve never really had that much problems with steal and shadowstep, I only get stuck in weird places very rarely :P
I use this skill quite often in PvP. It’s a nice ambush and teleport between nodes, just takes some experience in where you need to place it and where you need to be for it to work.
Even if you have experience it can be problematic if you’re in a great need of running away while in a place where the trap doesn’t work :P
If you want ANet to have a look @ your suggestions, I would recommend you to post it in the Profession Balance with “[Thief]” prefix in the title.
Is this a balance issue though? O.o
I don’t really agree with that it should be insta-cast, but it is truly annoying that you get stuck on obstacles, I don’t think it should happen, even though it does say “shadowstep”, and shadowsteps are quite easily obstructed
Yeah, I pretty much agree on everything you said :P
Do Tengu even use boats? And I seriously doubt that it’s Scarlet again, would be difficult to explain how she survived, holograms usually disappear after dying
Did Scarlet steal Pact airships? Didn’t she just make her own? O.o

I think the gameplay was incredible, but I must admit that the achievement design seems shaky
The music was truly amazing…! I did have a minor problem that it tuned down a lot during the cutscenes, luckily I have a keyboard shortcut for increasing the volume
Being rude is not “trying”, you have all the right in the world not to play this game if you want to, but no-one has the right to be mean towards the devs or other players
Thanks a lot for doing this Iason Evan.3806, it’s truly great to see that there’s someone who is trying to improve the community! :)
He has several poison-inflicting attacks, so it’s not impossible :)
Only argument against jumping quaggans countered, there’s no reason this shouldn’t become a thing now ;)
After Skritt.
Hmm, I wouldn’t be so sure about that, but it is a close competition ;)
I agree that a lot of tonics could be improved, but that might take time and I want to be a jumping quaggan right now! ^^
Anet’s been trying for quite a while to tell us that this story actually makes sense. This didn’t make it any more true however.
Anet wouldn’t tell us that the story does make sense if it obviously doesn’t, that wouldn’t make anyone especially happy, the worst case scenario is that they think that it makes sense while no-one else does
Oh, and allow us to use weapons as Quaggans as well.
I’d like to be able to remain in Quaggan form at all times.
Or, just sell quaggan character slots in the Gem Store.
You’d make loads and loads of dough.
I don’t think that Anet would like to add quaggans as a playable race, even though it would be cool :P But it’s obvious they’re everyone’s favourite minor race, so making players able to turn into jumping quaggans would probably be a very popular change, can’t imagine anyone complaining about that
Yeah, being able to jump with all tonics would be cool, but some of them might be a bit weird to jump with; I don’t know if you can turn into a snake or anything like that, but a jumping snake might look a bit weird :P But maybe changing all tonics would require quite a bit of time, so as long as the quaggan tonic gets changed I’ll be glad :)
If she wanted to fight the dragons she would most probably have joined forces with us. And just because she can kill us doesn’t mean she can kill a dragpn; we can be killed by a sword, but that wouldn’t work on a dragon
She’s crazy. Calling a dragon would cause massive destruction.
I think there’s more to it than that, Anet have been trying for quite a while to tell us that there’s more to her than simple madness
Why would she want to catch the dragons’ attention though? Could have something to do with that voice that spoke to her in her nightmares?
How would it be more information than counting how many you’ve killed of x? It’s just a counter, they’re easy to implement and don’t require a lot of data (it’s just a number that needs to be increased every time you save a civilian).
Are you sure? There’s tons of players, so even though there are several counters already that doesn’t necessary mean that adding another one wouldn’t be a problem… OR maybe I’m wrong, don’t take my word for it :P
Quite a nice idea, but it would require a lot of memory to save all that information :P And it would be rather unfair towards supports, since they don’t really kill as much
Or better yet, they should release the Quaggan race.
If jump button is enabled for Quaggan tonic, then it should be also enabled for all other tonics.
I don’t think that Quaggan will ever become a race since they are pretty much established as a minor race. It would be awesome if jumping was allowed for all other tonics, that would make them a lot more enjoyable, and now that we’ve proved that quaggans actually can jump it would be such a waste not giving us that great mechanic.
Long ago, the original quaggan tonic from Blubloop in Straits of Devastation (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Blubloop) use to let you jump as a baby quaggan.
Whyyyyy would they take it away! D: I see no drawbacks whatsoever with letting us turn into jumping quaggans, quite the opposite since that would make tonics a lot more enjoyable. I guess it’s up to us to bring awarness to the topic ;)
You would get all my gold! ;D
Look at their legs, they couldnt jump to save their lives.
Actually, I think they would be able to jump, even though not very high :P Just because they look small and chubby doesn’t mean they don’t have really strong legs :) And even if quaggans aren’t good at jumping, we are and we only look like quaggans so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to!

Jumping puzzles a s a quaggan… That would be all my dreams comming true at once! :O
I absolutely love the quaggan tonics that have appeared with this patch, and I like to spend as much time as possible turned into such an adorable creature. The only problem is that as a quaggan I can’t jump
That makes it difficult for me to move around, so wouldn’t it be an awesome change if the possibility of jumping as a quaggan would be added?
