Don’t you guys pay attention? There’s a huge amount of magic under lions arch. I forgot what they called them…..something with a h?
Relevant: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1yrm9u/anet_employee_chris_cleary_kicking_afkers_in_bg/
We’ve been told repeatedly by Gaile and other ANet developers here on the forums that developers have absolutely no special powers in-game, and yet apparently people have been kicked for an assortment of things by developers. This happened during wurm attempts, and is now happening in LA. I don’t really mind if it’s true, but what bothers me is the lack of transparency and the lying that goes with it. If you can do these things, ANet, then tell us you can (and do) do these things, don’t tell us you don’t have powers and then go back on it. If these reports are false, though, then quell the rumors by saying so; inaction here only makes it worse. Either way, I really just want to know what the truth of the matter is.
Thanks.
I remember running into Qt Spy, a anet employee. They were kicking afkers in the event so people who actually wanted to play, could with a group that actually helped with the event. People were reporting afkers left and right.

I could have sworn it was in the game….it was in GW1….

If not, and im just crazy….then dear Anet please add this title. ok thanks.
Also Survivor is a word.
(edited by TheFool.4589)
When did they remove it and why? I just got back into the game…was just wondering..
I played the gw2 beta, played it everyday till about 5-8months ago? It was shortly after guild missions came out when I stopped playing due to boredom. Since then me and my guild went to FF14. Their still playing since it’s release, I got bored in the first week. Guild wars 2 was the only mmo I EVER lvl capped a character/completed every mission/ done every dungeon/fractals. I love how it plays, but seeing how I’ve pretty much done everything, the in game title “been there done that”, kinda is true. Even with all the so called new content, I’m still reminded I’ve done everything possible that means something in the game. So what’s worth coming back to? How many people are still playing?
The 1skill could definitely be more elegant.
Yeah that’s what I’m talking about….it just looks so boring compared to a ranger’s first skill animation…
All the animations in general are too cookie cutter =/
(edited by TheFool.4589)
I think the theif’s animation for the sword looks….boring…for someone that’s supposed to be fast moving. I suggest something similar to the rangers animation…
Im going to play devils advocate here for a min.
Let’s say Arena Net removes the Art of War prereq and the first guild mission is open to all.
A small guild with less then 10 people probably could not finish it. There would then be backlash.Lets say this sub 10 player guild did beat the first tier? Then they try to go for the next tier and they could not beat it because they do not have enough players. They would need 15 to beat it. Back lash again because they would be stuck at tier one until they recruited more and they would say its unfair. Nothing wrong with that complaint btw.
What I am getting at here is Arena Net is kitten if they do and kitten if they don’t.
Guild missions are for 10-25 players. The Art of War prereq is steep for most small/medium guilds but I also feel that this would motivate recruiting and keep the guilds active. The rewards are worth it. If you are in a 5 man guild or less this would leave you out for now. It sucks but it is what it is. There still is a lot of content to play, plus you can participate in guild missions. You will not the guild perks but at least you get descent personal rewards for it.From what I have read you do not need to be in a 500 man mega guild, all you need is about 10-30 players and you can do most of this stuff. You cant unlock all tiers but at least you get the opportunity at the rewards once a week. Sure, the art of war is the big issue right now but you shouldn’t let that stop you from working together to get it done.
Maybe Anet will change the prereq, if so will that make this issue better for most?
The problem is that with the small guilds is that not everyone can be on at the same time to do it. There’s always a small window. That’s the point. Small guilds who do play with friends need everyone on at the same time pretty much every day just for a chance to gain influence to unlock the missions. It’s just not possible! I dont wanna join a zerg guild. Its not the same as my little guild im in now. We wanna just be able to play together when we ARE all on at the same time…
NONE of this should have costed anything at all! They should have just put a limit of 3 events a day or something. This was supposed to bring guilds together and have fun. Clearly this was a wrong move.
10 people is a very good size for a Tier 1 bounty mission.
<facepalm> so no thought about the small 2-5 man guild? It seems that the better game content is now exclusively for huge Zerg Guilds. My guild currently has 3 active members and we will not have a chance to play this premium part of the game until after the servers are turned off. And no, we are not buying gems to pay for influence to get the good stuff. <facepalm, laugh, shakes head>
Plus 100000000
Anet better get back to drawing board fast on this one…
Small guilds can’t even come close to even getting any of these missions unlocked. It’s not fair that we can’t get enough influence/gold to even start this stuff. And even if we do start it, it takes a week to do, plus the additional upgrades after that. Wtf anet? this was a stupid stupid idea. I thought the whole point was to play with each other not wait with each other. thanks from the little guilds! -_-;
As far as I know, there seems to be 2 sets of condition gear out for thief, a power/vit/condition set and a prec/tough/condition set. Ideally we would want a condition/tough/vit set but as far as I know, that doesn’t exist.
That being said, are the karma vendors and dungeons the best source to acquire these sets? Currently I’m chasing the power/vit/condition armor, im farming CoF for this set. Are there better condition armor somewhere out there, or is this CoF dungeon set the best choice of exotics for a condition thief?
Here is my condition thief. All the armor is the same set up. Blades have 10% each bleed duration. Focus on Healing and condition damage.
Be more informative if you provide the BSOD error code.
BSOD often caused due to driver issues or hardware stability.
The problem with that is it doesn’t display a code. It just goes dark. Then when i check the event log the only thing that comes up is that it shut down unexpectedly… =/

Just random names =P
Theif’s Name Is : St Erikku (Saint Erikku)
Why not? You shouldn’t have to run to a NPC to give you a boost…Just have it so its automatically applied when you enter a city.
Thanks for everybody helped me, I fixed the problem. In EVGA Precision I set the “power target” to 90%.
Please tell me if it works for you. I have the same card.
Its not your computer. Trust me, its the game. I’v been through this at least 5xs now…they will say its your computer, but its not. Its just something in the game that isn’t optimized for our computers the way it should be.
Gotta open the case. It will say on the side…
I find myself crashing. After the patch, the game runs for about 5 mins (regardless of what i do.) and just BSOD on me. I wiped my drive. clean start. Still shutting down. Tested all my hardware. (Again for about the 80th time) ALL is good. (ram,GPU,Heat,PSU)
It was running great for a month pre-patch. Obviously something isn’t working with the new patch.
I used to have this problem with my old GPU card. Every time it patched it would crash every 2 secs. If they patched it again right after, it would work fine.
Heres (once again) Some of my stats.
Intel I5 760 @ 2.80ghz
14gb DDR3 ram
Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 2gb
Logtitech G110/G500
The Things i’v heard is that it might be a driver with logitech. My mouse has been cutting in and out during game and i find my character running off without me.
I heard It might be a driver issue with nvidia as well. I rolled back, re rolled so many drivers its not even funny.
At this point, I’v come to two solutions.
One: It’s the game.
Or Two: My Computer’s Cursed.
(edited by TheFool.4589)
Well they broke something cause I’m crashing a lot. Again.
And i even started completely fresh as in formatted my drive. Not driver/software related.
Its not hardware related. I’v been through this at least 5 times with them and their patches…. Every time they do it, something on my computer breaks. It was running perfect for the last month…It’s the game.
Just have to wait it out i guess….again….again again….
(edited by TheFool.4589)
I so badly want them to add the ability to tie skills with weapons.
Certain skills work with certain weapon sets. so why not when you switch to those weapons your skill set switches to the ones you use with that weapon?
For example, a warrior might want all his signets when hes using his rifle, and when hes using his great sword hes likes to have for great justice, bulls charge, and frenzy. I just think it would be sooo much easier then having to stop. wait for cool down. (To even switch the skill!) and then get it all set up. Who agrees?
Same. its getting old.

I sent the crash logs, and you guys told me it was my comp. I wiped my computer clean. the game was fine until you updated it….clearly its YOUR GAME thats broken. Some one PLEASE come up with a logical answer to why its happening and fix it already! no more of this “Its your computer” cause its not. Im not going through support again cause thats all they told me. Heres yet another error from the log though!

Its starting again. play for under 10-20 mins…games crashes entire computer…no drivers changed, no updates. nothing. It was fine a week ago.
thanks for the help guys. Does anyone know what armor can house the Superior sigil of grenth? Cause thats what im currently looking for…
By the looks of the screenshot, your gear isn’t exotic yet. That would likely be why your stats seem low compared to other level 80s.
Keep in mind that you’d need exotics of accessories in addition to weapons and armour.
How would one acquire more exotic armor/weapons?
Im looking around and seeing….well my thief just sucks compared to other lvl 80s….
What should i do? What tips do you guys have so i can be at full potential?
Ill update with more stats a bit later…
Here’s what Im thinking, When a thief steals they should “steal” another classes skill at random.
For example, Thief Vs Guardian…. thief uses steal and the guardian can no longer use its guard skill for a certain cool down. of coarse it would come back in normal cool down time as if they had used it. In the corner of the thiefs interface it would show what skill you stole, meanwhile on the guardians end it would show chains with a lock and key over the skill…..
I think this would give the thief some what of an edge again only cause you might be able to stop someone from using an elite skill at the last second and save yourself. I can see it now, facing a thief and one of your skills suddenly has a crossed chain with a lock and key in the center leaving you unable to use that skill for that time.
And yes, it would work Thief vs Thief. Imagine locking out back stab, death blossom, or pistol whip for a short time? think about it….
My game ran perfectly before the LAST patch last night. Now its back to crashing like crazy…..anyone eles?
(edited by TheFool.4589)
remove theif. thats my bet.
Instead of pistol whip being at a set charge rate, why not make it hold and release?
they already lowered the attack of it by 15%, so i dont really see why we cant have the ability to have it activate at release. I had to many time where i would try to hit a target only to have them run off and me wave my sword like an idiot. A simple hold and release would make it possible to actually get close to a target with a slimmer chance of missing.
A real stealth skill for a thief would be nice. Not just some healing one, or having to steal it from a target. I would like to see a stealth skill for the ELITE slot that has permanent stealth UNTIL you attack/skill cast. Theifs are supposed to give the “Sneaky ambush feel”
I dont feel that when i stealth for 3’s and run 2ft away from my enemy only to be spotted again……
Now like stated above the skill would be a elite skill which means after use, it would take a great amount of time to reuse. And anything other then movement would cancel it.
Example:
Skill name: In Hiding
Description: Until you attack/cast a skill, you will remain in stealth.
+1 To this idea.
1: I really would like to see the ability to lock the camera on a target similar to zeldas Z targeting. Reason being is when i play my thief i sometimes over shoot the target and lose it and end up attacking another target. It would be nice to always have a view on it and actually lock on until you hit tab or something.
2: I would like to see just a little bit of a controller support. I know i know, who plays a game like this with a controller? I do. its hard. But i do it…….Either way these are two things i really really wish they would look into….
HEY there. were looking for somewhat active players who just wanna play.
We don’t care if you devote your life to GW2 or just pop on and off due to real life duties. Our goal is to get a group of people to work together most of their time on the game and help one another. Whether you wanna fight dragons, run WvW, or need help with your story, we want to be able to have people log on and have someone else to play with at the time they are. We don’t have a fancy website, or team speak or any of that. we feel we don’t need it for people to play together. Were accepting new people, and vets.
So lemme know if you wanna join.
St Erikku-Dragonbrand
Guild features:
Stash
Emblem
Emblem Armor for one gold…
I would like the thief to be able to stealth permanent until hit/use of a weapon. Then once used it recharges. The thieves use the element of surprise….its not really surprising when you stealth for 5 secs, run away…..then quickly re appear 3 ft from your enemy.
Also the Elite skills dont last long enough to justify 30 skill points to get. would be nice to use the hell hounds till they die vs 10 secs?
Thats all i got right now….
Here, im about 99% sure its the game….

Is your graphics card, processor getting enough power?
yup! every things good on my end….
Alright you posted some fix from Customer Support, but what is the Error you are receiving when the game crashes? Obviously, you can boot the game so its not a download failed error.
No error, it just blue screens….no sign, no warnings. nothing, just spins out and goes boom…Have to manually restart the computer…
I tried the lastest drivers, i rolled back to stable drivers.
I checked my CPU/GPU temp, all is good, i have 14gb ddr ram, no prob on memory..
I dunno…the games just broke…
I tried it all….GW2 is the only game that keeps crashing…
I literally played for 3 hours straight yesterday NO problem…I started it today, can even play for 5mins without it crashing. I dont get it…..
This is the response i got from support…..
Hello.
At this time, we would like to ensure that you have a clean installation of your video drivers by first uninstalling them using a free program called Driver Fusion. The intent here is to allow Driver Fusion to scan your PC for left over drivers from previous installations. These left over files can often cause issues with rendering 3D applications, even if you have installed the most recent drivers revision.
To do this:
1. Please download the latest driver from the following website and save it to your desktop, but do not install it yet:
http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/48847
2. Download Driver Fusion by visiting http://treexy.com – Click “Products” then select “Driver Fusion.”
3. Click “Download for Free” and save it to your desktop.
Once you have both files on your desktop, we will need to remove your currently installed drivers. To do this:
4. Navigate to “Control Panel” in Windows and select “Uninstall a program or Add/remove programs” depending on your operating system.
5. Locate and remove the following from the uninstall list: (We recommend removing them in this order)
Nvidia 3D Vision Controller Driver
Nvidia 3D Vision Driver
Nvidia PhysX System Software
Nvidia Graphics Driver
Once the removal process has completed, please double click the file “Driver_Fusion_X.X.X” to start the installation process.
6. Choose the default installation options and once installed, start “Driver Fusion.” (Note, you may have to provide administrative rights if you have User Account Control enabled)
7. Left click and highlight the following options:
AMD – Display
Intel – Display
Nvidia – Display
Do NOT check any labeled “Chipset.”
8. Once selected, click “Analyze.” This will scan your system for any AMD, Intel or Nvidia drivers and list them for you to review.
9. Once you’re list has compiled, select “Delete” to remove these entries.
At this point, you will need to reset your computer to complete this process.
Once you return to Windows:
10. Right-click the driver file you downloaded in step 1 and select “Run as Administrator.” (note, if you are on Windows XP, you will not have this option, just double click the file)
11. Once the setup file is loaded, select “Custom (Advanced)”
12. Checkmark “Perform a clean install” and click next to start the installation process.
13. Once completed, restart your machine again.
Once you return to Windows:
14. Right-click on your “Desktop” and select “Nvidia Control Panel.”
15. Click “Adjust image settings with preview” and move the slider to “Performance.”
16. Click “Apply” to save your changes.
Once completed, try logging in and playing. Should this not resolve your issue, please try the following changes:
1. Right-click on your desktop and select “Nvidia Control Panel.”
2. Once opened, left-click on “3D settings” and select “Adjust image settings with preview.”
3. Select “Use my preference emphasizing” and move the slider to “Performance.”
4. Select “Use the advanced 3D image settings” and left click on “Take me there.”
This should take you to the “Manage 3D Settings” window. Once here:
5. Change “Power Management mode” to “Prefer maximum performance.”
6. Change “Multi-display/mixed GPU acceleration” to “Single display performance mode.”
7. Change “Vertical Sync” to “Use the 3D application settings.”
Once completed, click “Apply” and start up Guild Wars 2.
Once loaded, access the “Graphic Options” window and make the following changes:
1. Change “Refresh Rate” to “60 Hz.”
2. Change “Frame Limiter” to “60.”
3. Change “Reflections” to “None.”
4. Change “Render Sampling” to “Supersample” then back to “Native.”
5. Enable “Vertical Sync” at the bottom.
Once completed, please let me know if your performance in Guild Wars 2 improves or degrades with these settings. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any additional issues, questions or concerns.
Done and Done…still broken….anyone else get past this suggestion?
I still love you arenanet…

“We are aware that many players are experiencing crashes even after trying the suggested options. We are currently looking into the problem. Thanks for not giving up on us!.”
