[Suggestion] bring back lucky/unlucky titles

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: TheFool.4589

TheFool.4589

I’m curious in seeing how this would pan out if anet implanted this system back into gw2. How many of us will get the “cursed by fate” vs “blessed by fate”?

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Lucky_and_Unlucky

Example: I get a rare, the “lucky” meter goes up. I get greens for a boss fight, my unlucky meter goes up. This would be very interesting to see if the truth behind “luck” accounts exisist.

2 accounts 2 different loot experiences

it’s true, this has been known for a long time, if you are destined for richness , your account will get all the goodies. if you ain’t, tough luck pal.

No, it’s not true. It’s been tin-foil-hatted for a long time. There’s absolutely no evidence that accounts are destined for richness or poverty.

On the contrary, all the evidence there is shows that some people get lucky sometimes, some people get lucky often, and some people hardly ever get lucky, but this changes over time. The evidence also shows that people are notoriously poor about keeping track of how lucky they are …or aren’t.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Lucky_and_Unlucky
I wonder if they could bring this back then.

2 accounts 2 different loot experiences

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

TheFool.4589

This makes no sense to me. Why would they put in something like this that makes older accounts LESS lucky? If anything they should make older accounts MORE lucky since they’ve dedicated the play time. In fact, they should make older, more active accounts be more lucky since they literally did spend all that time playing. Having this apply to brand new accounts seems backwards.

Think about it. The game goes on sale like all the time. People claim they get better loot on alt accounts. Eventually that theroy catches on, and soon others are buying alt accounts for $10 a pop. Do you see the pattern here?

On topic though, I believe op is right. I have been trying to get incinerator since day one. My friend just started gathering his materials and map completion about 2-3 months ago. He got everything he needed except the pre. Then he threw 4daggers in the toilet and got spark. He now has a legendary he worked 2-3 months for. Vs me who’s worked on it since day one. Tell me what’s wrong with that. Tell me why I shouldn’t be salty.

RNG is a myth. Magic find is a myth. This game is seriously like real life. You’re born lucky, or lucky to be born. In this case, some accounts have a higher chance at getting better things. There’s also something severely wrong when all you get is two green Krytan daggers in one chest and carrion spear guns which I always seem to get when doing things like fractals. Or world bosses.

people can say all that junk that it’s working just fine. But those very people probably have 1-2 legedaries and a bunch of gold already cause they don’t need to search any more.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Lucky_and_Unlucky I think they forgot to turn it off in gw2.

Once you have reason to get people naked, then you sell underwear/swimsuit customizations.

However, one cannot wear lady kasmeers bikini because kasmeers doesn’t wear clothes. She’s naked. So that’s ok if one wants to wear her bikini.

The complexity of our laws, the cost of doing business, even the distance from things always seems to work against us.

On the upside, we have a better medical system and a higher minimum wage. lol

You also have huge kitten spiders, and tiny kitten ones that can kill you. And nearly every other animal there can kill you. I would hope your medical is good….

So far I think they’ll be the same mats you can currently buy with skill points. The “new” thing they went on about was the currency because they don’t have a name for it yet.

I could be wrong. I’m still in need of a very clear statement on exactly what the skill scrolls will become and what they will buy, so I can figure out if I want to use them before the change or wait.

I especially would like to know if they’ll have any non-MF use as I barely use the thing.

If I could buy T 6 mats with them, then by all means. If it’s garbage like the current stuff then screw that..their mystic toilet has done jack wieners for me.

Tonics to Outfits. It's time.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: TheFool.4589

TheFool.4589

A few questions to develop the idea:

-How would this work for armour weights? Could a heavy wear completely light armour? Would it mean that you could make a custom outfit with a mix of light/medium/heavy armour?

-How would the system be able to tell the difference between cultural and non-cultural armour? Say, if you made a custom outfit using a few asuran cultural armour pieces, what would happen if you applies the outfit to a norn?

-What would happen in regards to clipping? Being able to mix all armour weights together is likely going to cause a lot of possibility for clipping. Would this mean armour weights would have to remain separate?

-Do you think that the current system is best for A-net, financially? I’m sure they’re getting great revenue from people buying gems to buy outfits and transmutation charges. Surely upsetting the system for one that gives oppurtunity for more free aesthetic change would be a bad business decision. What could be done to your suggestion to make it more lucrative (and reasonable) for A-net to actually implement it?

This is literally about just adding the classic town clothes as a free out fit….that’s it.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

TheFool.4589

I thought of this as well and always wondered why my waypoints were locked if I had already “been there done that”.

I don’t mind doing hearts, skills, vistas, etc…..but the way points and tedious running on a alt is rather boring. I’ve already done it….to many times! Like you said, it’s easy enough to get a alt to 80 without even leaving your starting area. The only thing that deters me from using my alts in say dungeons, is having to waste time running there..

I say they add a option that allows players to do this. +1

TheFool.4589

It was a question of managing resources. If they had made all town clothes into outfits, we probably wouldn’t have seen the wardrobe for another 5-6 months. Much as I like some of the town clothes (and little as I use the tonics), I am happy to have gotten the wardrobe sooner, in exchange for losing out on some cool sets.

I think this is about the “basic” town clothes, the ones that looked different for each race.

Those, at least, should be outfits. Consider them a “gateway outfit” to let people try the idea, and maybe get more new players to buy some from the gemstore.

Exactly this.

I was going through my bank and I saw my basic town clothes…..and then
It kind of occurred to me that town clothes don’t count as a outfit……why?
I think Anet should consider changing the basic town clothes they gave us to outfits we can wear and still fight in…..everyone would have this outfit too.

Otherwise…what purpose to they serve other then taking up a slot in my bank?
Everyone gets one free outfit they can choose to wear or not over their armor. And the basic town clothes get a use again.

I don’t think you should be able to fly with plastic crow wings, the back slot becoming the glider slow would also force players to make new back pieces to do the new content, image if you had to trade your ascended back for a blue glider to play content.

Also plastic crow wings can’t make you fly…

They’re not plastic! They’re just..,.extra fluffy…..

Anyway, give us an option to hide gliders. There.

So will we be paying for another full rich game like the orginal? Or are we paying full price for a few more map zones, a new class, and a new mastery system that can only be used in those zones?

Concept of Dueling/Party vs Party

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

TheFool.4589

Ok, this is being taken way out of context. Everyone here thinks I want PvE to be a place where I can randomly gank like in WvW. Again, for the 5-6 th time, that’s not the case kitten . You guys really really need to learn how to read before you go posting about cause you’re twisting the idea.

No one has answered me at all when I asked twice, how a costume brawl in keesex hills would effect them. That’s ALL this duel option idea is. It’s costume brawl without the costumes guys. Nothing more, nothing less. It won’t effect you at all. None. Trolls and all.

You have a right to say no, but what’s making me so mad when you say it is because you literally say “I don’t want to deal with it.”

There was literally only one person on here that gave a legit reason why they did not want to see in implanted. (Waste if devs time) though I disagree, I respect this persons answer as opposed to the wah wah ones.

You guys are taking this way the opposite way like I’m asking for anarchy. I’m asking for a simple option that allows a simple mechanic. That’s it. Again actually read the post.

Telling me that you will be effected cause of spammers and trolls is a ridiculous answer seeing how it would be no different then today without the option.

Again. Read the post again before you even think about replying. Majority of you have the wrong idea even when I cleared it up numerous times.

Concept of Dueling/Party vs Party

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: TheFool.4589

TheFool.4589

You are not reading this right at all. There is no player combat in pve.

I think you’re misunderstanding this whole thing as in me wanting a open world PvP in PvE which is not the case at all. What I want is to go up to my friend, click is name, and request to duel him on the spot. I can’t kill him until he agrees to the match. I can’t hurt his chances in PvE. It’s no different then activating costume brawl. The only difference is…surprise im not wearing a costume!

When people do costume brawls are you effected? My guess is no. So…can you see where your points are illogical?

It seems your brushing past everything I said just to attack me and the topic.

See bolded/underlined portion above. As I’m about to make it as clear to you as I possibly can.

We know that this is what you want. We understand that, loud and clear.

This – the right-clicking your friend and challenging him to a duel request he has to actively accept – is what we don’t want to happen.

For reasons I’ve explained to you FOUR TIMES NOW and which you have ignored. PvE zones are PvE zones are PvE zones ARE PVE ZONES. If you would like to engage in PvP, go to a PvP zone. If you would like a new PvP zone dedicated to one-on-one duels, then ask for that. You’ll likely see a great deal of support for it.

But the ability to right-click a player’s name and challenge him to a duel he has to actively accept? That means that there’s no such thing as a PvE zone anymore, because TheFool.4589 could right-click DevilLordLaser.8619’s name out in the world for no reason and hit “Duel This Player?”

Does it affect me directly, on a single instance-by-instance basis, when you challenge your friend to a faceplant contest? No. Does it break the entirety of PvE by rendering the entire concept of a “PvE zone” false and ensuring that PvE players can never trust any other player in what was once a PvE zone to not be out there specifically to kill people rather than help, and thus destroy ArenaNet’s vision of player cooperation and cohesiveness?

Yeah. yeah, that it absolutely does. So stop asking. We know exactly what you’re asking for, we’ve told you I-don’t-know-how-many-times-now why it affects us and why we don’t want it. Come up with a new idea, because this one stinks.

“PvE players can never trust any other player in what once was of PvE zone to not be out there specifically to kill people…”

Uh what?

How can people kill other people in a PvE? If a mob of players went to Kessex hills to costume brawl, would this effect you or the PvE map?

The answer is no. The only difference is instead of wearing costumes, you are using normal pvp means to fight. People are free to do as they wish where they wish. Nobody can randomly gank you. No ones gonna spam duel invites, if they do, that’s why they would add a block duel invite button. Other wise that persons just a regular troll and should be dealt as such.

Bottom line is, it’s just a small addition. Like costume brawl, no different. No ones gonna spawn camp you, no ones gonna keep you from fighting world bosses, no ones going to camp nodes and kill you when you chop a tree, why? Cause they can’t.

This is not open world pvp, this is a option to face another at both persons acceptance in PvE. Rounds end and you carry on like before.

In game example.
A buddy and I are waiting for a world boss to start, he challenges me to a duel. I accept. We start fighting, he’s goes down. The round ends. Everything goes back to normal. The people around us are not effected at all. They just get to watch.
How is that bad?

I guess i was wrong, i will respond since he actually wasnt condescending for once! ;D

I am not mis understanding what you are asking for, i do not agree with it at all and do not ever want it. You might only use it to duel with your friends, but others will not. Others will use it to troll, And trolls will always find a way to troll. Hell they do it enough already."
[/quote]

But how will these trolls troll you? That’s where this misunderstanding is happening.
You say whispers, they have a block feature for a reason. And if a person is following you around even after that’s called abuse, they have a report for that as well. Trolls will troll regardless. I once got trolled by a guy in WvW who followed me around with a bell all day just hitting one note. I blocked him, and silenced the instrument in the options. All done! He didn’t effect me at all. I just made some adjustments and went about my day.

Saying trolls will effect you more because of dueling is like saying gold spammers will start calling your house. Probably not gonna happen.

Going to ignore anything TheFool responds to this post, if he does at all.

I am playing GW2, My family is playing GW2 because of the lack of dueling in PVE, most of my almost 500 man guild is the same. We play GW2 because we do not have to deal with that. We have all had bad experiences with it. We do not want it. And if it ever gets added, i know of at least 100 people who will leave, because they do not want to have to deal with duelist trolls of any kind in PVE. Most of us dont do PVP either, or WVW for that matter. Boring to you? maybe, but PVE without having to risk player combat of any kind is why we here.
