Hi,

My name is Titan, and I represent a group of 3 players who are looking for a few more to join our group for regular dungeon and fractal runs. We are guildless by choice and intend to stay as such for the time being, to emphasize we are NOT looking for a guild.

We are looking for social players friendly players to join our group for nightly dungeon tours, fractals, and PvP. Upon contacting us, we will arrange a day when we can do a short interview with you and tour to ensure that you fit into our group. NOTE Fractals are not required! If you are not interested in them but interested in joining us for dungeons, that is fine as well.

While we typically play at different times of the day, we are most active during the following.

Pacific 9pm – 3am / Eastern 12am – 6am (During the week, mon-fri)
Pacific 9am – 2pm / Eastern 12pm – 5pm (Everyday)
At reset (Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon)

What we expect from you

  • Teamspeak 3 for VoIP communication (for organization during runs as well as social purposes)
  • Meta Builds for PvE with Berserker’s Gear (should be running builds from metabattle.com or DnT)
  • At least one of the following classes: Elementalist, Thief, Warrior, Guardian, Ranger
  • Good knowledge of all dungeon and fractal paths and boss mechanics (Must include paths that we run daily, other paths are optional or only run sometimes and experience in these is not required)
  • Use of food and potions
  • Friendly attitude, semi-hardcore (We are not looking for elitist kittens, merely experienced players with a good attitude)
  • Optional WhatsApp. The three of us use this for communication outside of the game to arrange times when we will be available to play or to let others know we cannot make it. We also use it for random social conversations as well.

What we can offer you

  • Organized Fractal and Dungeon tours
  • Organized PvP (if you are interested in that)
  • Friendly group of social individuals
  • Experienced and knowledgeable players
  • Teamspeak 3 Server – 300 slots (You can use it for friends or whatever you wish)

We are willing to teach tactics or help you improve in areas if needed. However, we ask that you know the job of your “main” class that you would like to play during tours and basic strategies for the typical paths that we run. We are pretty laid back however, we still would like some efficiency to the runs but our emphasis is to have fun and enjoy the game not to say that our runs are slow by any means.

This is a known bug and has been around the last year. This no fix for this from ArenaNet. You can get around this though by having your entire party wipe then waypoint and fight her again.

People who hate on D/F in Fractals

Yes you would, however, if your managing your rotations correctly you would have no issue with this at all. Chill you would apply at the start of a fight and swap into fire. Eruption in Earth and Ice Spike are actually good damage for their cast time. Since you can swap into their respective attunement, cast them, go into air and cast Lightning Storm → Icebow (Ice Storm) then back to Fire you will not lose nearly any DPS as Fire would be off cooldown by this time and you would continue business as usual.

Even if you weren’t doing good rotations the burst from Staff on trash mobs and most bosses would easily outshine D/F and Swirling Winds is quite frankly trash compared to the other reflects provided by other members of your party. Your much better off focusing on DPS which Elementalist is good at.

ArenaNet has already told us that they will not be doing this as it “Fractures player bases.” For the same reason, there will be no hard mode or anything of that nature unless this stance is changed in the future.

As the game currently stands though, most paths are solo-able in their current state. Except for mechanics that require more than a single player (for example Arah p1 because of Shoggroth, CoF p1 gate etc)

In MMOs, expansions fracture the player base by default, since new loot, more rewarding content, etc. causes the veteran playerbase to migrate to that area, while new or incoming players have to contend with the “vanilla” areas being near or completely deserted.

The only way to avoid “fracturing” would be for ANet to integrate all the HoT changes into the base game, while at the same time making sure that the new content is not area specific. One need only look at the Silverwastes chest loot farm and its extremely high reward to low risk ratio to see why many other areas are very thinned out, barring World Boss locations.

Which means a total revamp of the vanilla game, which is extremely unlikely. For example, ANet is already dividing Masteries into two distinct categories, one for core GW2, and one for HoT. So by design ANet is already fracturing the game.

tl;dr ANet’s design philosophy will fracture the player base, my concern in this thread is that as a consequence of that philosophy that they then provide easier access (not ease of completion) to areas which will experience significant player thinning.

MMOs by default are fractured. You have hard core players who min/max everything and those who don’t give a kitten and spend real world money on cash shop for in game items that they want. The casual players are who developers cater to as they are their primary source of income.

I never argued against that, and I believe ArenaNet has a flawed view of this as the player base in Guild Wars 2 is very much fractured. I merely said, that this is reason that ArenaNet doesn’t implement this and why they never will UNLESS they change their stance which I clearly said in my original post. That said, I agree with you the Expansion will only make this worse but I still fail to see your point of how this relates to the original post.

an actual solo mode would be nice. Meaning 1 person can enter only. Add in timer, and a ladder to see who finish the fastest and seperate for each class.

I know that this is what OP meant. They’ve already stated that it’s not going to happen. The reason they are doing this with Arah story is because it is required for the personal story and many people are complaining that it too hard (really its just a time gated boring instance). There is no reason for them to do this with any other instances in a group oriented game.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Rifle (and ranging in general) provides poor DPS. If your playing PvE, everything is easily melee-able and is expected by the majority of the community. Rifle warrior is one of the worst builds you could be playing up there with bow bear ranger and condi necro.

In PvP rifle is also outclassed by Bow in everyway.

The D/P is a roaming build your job should be finishing other people’s fights and taking points. Use Shortbow for mobility and learn the teleport locations for all of the different maps.

As far as initiative management goes, you can go with a meta 2/6/0/0/6/ spread which will give you 3 extra initiative that I find helps a great deal. There is also a 6/0/2/0/6 variation which I find to be less effective.

Your initial burst should include a Black Powder -> Heart Seeker -> Steal -> Backstab combo. With the suggested trait spread you get back 3 inititive from the Steal as well. Note that this burst is very initiative cost heavy as you lose 6 on the Black Powder and 3 more for the Heart Seeker. Since it does comparable damage to Shadow Shot plus Shadow Shot blinds that should be your main damage dealer along with auto attacks after your initial burst.

If you know you can’t take your opponent, disengage thieves excel at this. NEVER ever try to hold a point, you are extremely squishy and that is not what the build is designed to do.

Shadow Rejuvenation sacrifices a great deal of damage for a very minor amount of healing and is not worth it in PvP however it can be useful in WvW. As mompen suggests, take a look at the D/P or S/D builds on metabattle.com for a trait and gear load out.

Staff is better in almost every way in the current meta provided you are not soloing and have a decent group. The whole idea of D/F is to sacrifice DPS for more might stacking and utility. These usually are not needed in a group with other heavy utility classes like Guardian and Mesmer that you find in Fractals and might stacking that can be better off loaded to an EA/PS Warrior. Thus the superior option is to run Staff.

The only time I ever use D/F (6/6/2/0/0) is on Mia Trin in Fractals. The rest of the time you can use an Earth Golem or Frozen Ground to keep bosses from moving around too much and walking out of your Lava Font and Staff DPS as was before mentioned.

Please fix this, you talk about communicating better with the community and we have been waiting for a month now to hear either way whether this was intended or not and when it will be fixed. This really upsets many players as it feels like we are being ignored with the attention given to other trivial bugs.

+1, also Lupicus never lands his Necrid Trap anymore like he should. This started happening two patches ago. He used to cast it if you were too far away and land it on you. However, since the patch he will cast it further from you resulting it in never landing correctly.

He is also spawning elite mobs instead of just the locust on occasion (this never used to happen doubt this was intended).

Forgotten Divinities is a fairly new Dungeon and Fractal guild in the NA region and was created on the Blackgate server. We are Hardcore Dungeon and Fractal Speed running guild and are recruiting active players.

What we offer:

  • Mature, active, friendly community
  • High level daily dungeon tours and speed runs
  • Private TeamSpeak server
  • Knowledgeable and experienced players
  • Guild Missions (currently building will be in the near future)

Members are expected to:

  • Have at least two classes fully geared with PvE meta gear and traits and be able to play them appropriately
  • Utilization of TeamSpeak during dungeon runs (mic is NOT required, however highly preferred)
  • Represent us 80-90% of the time (we are not a LFG guild or a side guild however we do realize people do want to do other things than dungeon running: PvP, WvW, Bank Guilds etc)
  • Be respectful of everyone in the guild (some players may be better than others however we ask that you treat everyone with equal respect)

How to Join

  • Trials will take place in Arah p2 (2 members of [fD], and you). Melee Lupicus is required off of the wall (Exceptions may be made depending on the class)
  • Post Arah trial, you will run two other dungeon paths to be chosen at random based on your secondary class. You will be asked to explain strategies prior to the encounter to display your understanding of the mechanics and game.

Hey guys,

Recently took a break from the game and trying to get back into it. I used to main warrior but have found I much prefer thief. Just wanted to get some advice for fighting lupi in melee solo and in a speed run group. Currently using D/D + S/P however the changes to sword 2 are getting me killed in phase 3. Any suggestions for skills / gear?

1106 suggestions pre-patch, 0 were ok.

This is not OK by any means. I know this is their game and they can do whatever they choose but not listening to your player base and just plain ignoring us as they have been doing while you see Dev’s posting under new account and issue related threads is a good way to lose your entire player base. It is not good for the game or the community. The same thing happened with Fractured, changes were promised but not delivered. I would say fine whatever its near the holidays but this is nothing new for ANet and no excuse we deserve to be answered!

What happen to Fractals Leaderboard?

Fractals would be more or less fine and people would happily play them if the rewards were worth it. Here are how to fix the rewards…

1. Increase the gold reward by 10s per level, not per tier. 49 should be a 4.9g daily bonus reward, not 1.3g.
2. Remove Rings from the daily loot table at 31+. Especially remove uninfused rings at 31+, currently uninfused rings drop at 49 still and that is painfully bad.
3. Replace ascended _ boxes with the datamined “Universal Ascended ______ boxes”
4. Replace fractal skins with the datamined “Fractal Weapon Box”
5. Add Earrings and amulets to the pristine relic vendor. Additionally, add ascended weapon and armor crafting recipes to the vendor so we can buy them with pristines as opposed to Laurels.
6. Double the drop rate for the ascended boxes and fractal weapon boxes.

These changes, which could be made in a very small amount of time, would turn Fractals into what it should be. If put to a vote, I would bet any amount of money that the end game pve community would prefer my 6 changes here than to have a leaderboard. And since a leaderboard will take significantly more time and effort to code than these changes, Anet should prefer my changes too.

This is exactly what fractals needs and I would actually start doing them again provided the changes we’re made. We never asked for a leaderboard and I still don’t want it even after ANet reset my levels.

It’s funny how disappointing this entire patch was. I knew it was going to be disappointing, but they really struck the ball out of the park with this one. I used to compare it with the last season of Lost, but I think they’ve even surpassed that. At the moment the disappointment is venturing near the ending to Knowing.

Some part of me thinks this entire patch was a bet:

Anet employee 1: “Hey, wanna see who can make the most people quit with a single patch?”

Anet employee 2: “Sure, I’ll convince the Living Story department to keep Scarlet around for a bit longer, what are you going to do?”

Anet employee 1: “I’ll rework Fractals, promise a bunch of stuff, erase people’s progression, and then not deliver anything of the stuff I promised.”

Anet employee 2: “Wow, I thought my idea was evil.”

Anet employee 1: “Oh, and I forgot to mention, I’ll add more Dredge to the Dredge Fractal.”

Anet employee 2: “Ho there Satan, contain yourself.”

Well, there’s one big plus to the entire Fractured saga. It made me lose all interest in this game and especially the studio producing it right before finals hit, so I guess that’s a good thing.

Sad thing is I feel the same way with the Fractals change and stealth changes to Arah and they don’t even respond to the questions we have. I’m so over this treatment from ANet but hey at least I will have more time for BF4.

High LVL Fractals and Vitality

Of course it’s not fun because the boss isn’t doing anything if you kill it very fast, in fact you kill the challenge, the only boss that was a challenge even if people were running berserker was Nightmare Tree in TAFU, people were crying saying it’s too hard where it wasn’t, i did it first time back in August with 2 level 60+ rangers in rare stuff, 1 guardian and a Ele, and you know what? They weren’t berserker, so please stop saying guys that berserker is always the solution when sometimes it’s not, another example i could give is Tequatl where most people are running soldier.

Oh please you have no clue what you are talking about. TA F/U was done naked many times and is literally a DPS race and groups sucked so bad because they we’re bad players and couldn’t do it because they were running junk builds and not zerkers.

I’ve killed Teq 4 times now with zerker gear without dying. They only picked Soldiers because they aren’t good enough to survive and the fight takes so long which is the principle of how Soldiers works.

Stop using false logic to justify your poor playing ability and understanding of the game. We are talking about fractals and none of these examples are related to the topic at hand. But in general, yes everything in PvE can be done in Berserker gear and this is literally the best option in every scenario. The game rewards speed clearing and fighting in melee but if you want to play a different way fine but you will not make it 5 minutes in my groups and will have to live with 3 hour fractal runs.

Power Ranger?

Full Glass Longbow Ranger is the glassiest build in the game, you will need to have somewhere to run or hide to. However the damage is amazing, over 1000 range expect 3k autos and rapid fire should hit a hefty 8-18k depending on how glassy you go. Signet of the Hunt 150% proc with maul can hit 12k also.

Wrong wrong wrong, ele is far glassier than ranger. 3k auto on longbow? haha I want to see that nice troll nice troll.

If you want a power ranger build go GS + Sword/* be better damage than you could ever hope for on bow plus you’ve have some nice evades (survivability)

I don’t want to lose my bow, I do archery in real life and I’m very enthusiastic about it

Then do not ask for help about a power build if you do not want to hear what we have to say

I agree with Ryn, you should either go for 0/30/0/25/15 or 10/30/0/20/10 (if you can maintain 2 phantasm up)

These are the two best builds you can get on mesmer right now plain and simple.

Actually your wrong, first if your using Sword for a power build then I feel sorry for you. Second, I have hit 15,000 with Final Thrust on trash mobs in arah where i usually do 4k auto with an axe. How is this not better than the measly 3k you might hit with AA?

So not playing all the time in zerk stuff is poor playing to you? I guess people here that only plays Berserker stuff don’t know anything about fun in this game. I play Berserker but not all the time because it’s boring, the game is already easy enough so why making it even easier? Oh yes of course because all people wants here is: MONEY MONEY MONEY!

Yes that is playing poor, you are missing the point. In fractals you get hit so hard by trash mobs that PVT will not keep you alive with the number of trash mobs in the dredge fractal….for any fractal for that matter. If your going to facetake mobs like that then yes you are playing poor and you suck in general.

Money is nice but I just get tired of carrying people like you through fractals and dungeons who claim to know what they are talking about but cannot deliver or try to slip by it just does not cut it. There is no reason whatsoever to ever run anything other than berserkers or assassins in PvE period.

Thats absolute crap, all I ever hear is whine whine whine about Warrior I am sick of it.

Warrior is an average class with average DPS other classes out class warrior in many ways…in PvP n WvW they bring stun which are easily dodged (if you can see them coming you suck) and buffs. PvE they bring buffs and high DPS without group support and hard to mess up in general.

But all the awesome things into a single build? not even close, only class that can come close is guard and ele but that is even a stretch.

Sides you want to talk about Healing Signet? What about Guardian’s built in class mechanic to heal? What about Signet of the Ether on an already OP class? What about Engi A.E.D that is so OP? And you whine about a substandard heal when compared to other classes…you sicken me

Venoms are skills you have access to. It used to be a thing in WvW n PvP as it just helped you down someone before they could react. Its occasionally useful in WvW n PvP very bad in PvE but you lose so much damage output on it its not worth your time.

Ok so go glass cannon build and get murdered during the ‘’sitting in buttons’’ phase of dredge fractal and have fun being down in less than 2seconds in full zerk, remember that you can’t dodge there and blind doesn’t work, reflection won’t work for melee dredges too, don’t get me wrong berserker is master race in any other PVE content (except world bosses since you can’t crit them so crit chance and crit dmg are useless) but here it’s not useful until the boss.

Actually yes it is, have you heard of blocks while on a button? How about reflects on /Axe #5. Healing Spring much? Plus there is such a thing as an Invis kit that is consumable…problem solved. Stop trying to justify your poor playing.
