I will certainly agree that warrior adrenaline got hit a little too hard in the last patch. I’m working on memory here so might be wrong I think they both doubled decay rate and halved the amount of time before decay starts. While I know the idea was to prevent warriors from starting a new fight with full adrenaline, its led to warriors having zero adrenaline 5 seconds after a fight.. The pendulum has swung too far in the other direction imho.

I was actually just on the dungeon forum, and I saw a suggestion that would make Dungeons a very different experience. By adding certain handicaps like those that had been present in the Queens Gauntlet, you could perhaps have a modifier on the end rewards for the trip. The trips would allow for different challenges this way. Alternatively, if they assume that players will take the option with greatest reward/time invested(and they will), rather than having it as a choice of modifiers, they could have the modifier itself either randomly selected at entry, or be something that follows a schedule.

phys, to answer you question – a dungeon or two would have been great. The game launched with 8 dungeons, and the only additions to that has been the Aetherpath for Twilight Arbor(which isn’t so much an addition as a replacement). Fractals is dungeon-ish, but that hasn’t been expanded since the Fractured release almost a year ago. The introduction of Dry Top was the perfect opportunity to put in a new dungeon, but there wasn’t one.

Dungeons and Fractals are repeatable, group oriented, non zerg content. We need more of these things.

Alright, lets put things in perspective.

They’re not working on an expansion, they’re working on the Living Story as a focus for putting out new story content.

Between the Fractured release (Nov 26, 2013) and the Origins of Madness (January 21, 2014) there is no Living Story content. 2 Month break.
Between the Battle for Lion’s Arch (March 4th, 2014) and the Gates of Maguuma (July 1st, 2014) there is no Living Story content. 3 Month break.
Between Dragon’s Reach Prt 2 (August 12th, 2014) and the return of Living Story Season 2 (November 4th, 2014), we have nearly another full 3 months of break.

There has legitimately been more waiting for story than actual story(though I will say the Season 2 story is leagues better than Season 1). Yes, they are working on other things like the feature updates sure but I can’t play a feature update. I can’t be thrilled and wowed by the gripping story that is another generic week of World Vs World. I can’t be excited by all the gripping changes that have been made to the leveling process considering I’ve 8 lv 80s and no new classes have come out since launch.

I’ve played the game since pre release. I have played the content that is available. Living Story releases give me something to do. Lets take a look at those gaps that I listed earlier. Between the Battle for Lion’s Arch and the Gates of Maguuma release, I hardly played the game. When we had the Dragon’s Reach prt 2 and they said there’d be no new releases until Sept Feature Pack I took a break and came back to find out there’d be no story for another 2 months..

I want to play your game Anet, please give me something to do, and Skritt Shinies are not it.

If you take a look at a lot of the changes they’re making, and they’ve said so themselves, its the player that created the weapon, not so much the character. Its the player that should reap the rewards. Having a legendary weapon is a sign that says “Hey look, I did this.” (which really boggles my mind when people can straight up BLTC their legendaries) and you should be able to get that feeling regardless of which character you’re playing. Its kind of like a title in that respect.. All the severely time gated mechanisms in this game are becoming Account Bound

Honestly, would like to see them make use of a gold price that gets automatically deducted from your wallet in the same way that the Copper-fed Salvageomatic works… or if they’re really evil – Karma fed.

This being said, I expect the same gem costs as the existing Transmutation Crystals.

Go? No. Tweaked? Yes. Its a lv 15-25 zone where few people actually have any reason to go. It can be soloed(and I have), but it takes forever and is not worth the reward for the time invested. In regards to the Giant Slayer, there are 4 players across the world that I can think of: Nageling, Hirathi Hinterlands giant, tthat one dynamic event in Brisban Province, and Kudzu’s Monster in CoE Story(for some reason…)

Honestly, if you take a look at Healing Signet and why just about every warrior uses it, it isn’t because natural regen is good(and it is) but because of how incredibly underwhelming all of the other Warrior heals actually are(albeit Healing Surge and Deviant Stance have their uses) – especially compared to other classes.

Recently they went over Signets and tried to rework them to add incentive for using the Active ability – except for Healing Signet the active is so horrible and the passive so good that there’s no reason to ever use it. Boosting the Active healing on the Healing Sig isn’t feasible either because then it would straight up outdo Mending or Healing Surge. Its an awkward situation to think about and frankly as a result I would think that ALL of the warrior healing options need to be revisited rather than simply touching Healing Sig

While I do not think that they need to offer a stat reselection, I would think that it would be a good PR move to allow for ALL ascended armor/weapons to be restatted either exactly once after the implementation of these changes OR whenever not in combat for a period of time(A week or thereabouts) – The former allows for any and all sets to be changed as new traits/sigils/runes/ferocity might now be less than ideal for what they have. The latter allows for a trial period, so people can adjust.

Do I think they’ll do it? No. Do I think it would be a wise move? Yes. Do I think it would be a good move to foster goodwill towards the community? Yes.

I honestly don’t mind that the troll is different. I don’t mind that its the same troll as in AC.. not really.. what does bother me though is that it gives AC loot, which shows they didn’t test things, and that it was a change made with no notification anywhere. Stealth patches are the worst kind, I certainly would appreciate more transparency.

They’ve also recently put out the Living Story Atlas(good in theory, really bad execution) that is kind of a “The Story So Far” detailing the events of past living story releases.. My concern is that there isn’t really at present an In-Game way to get players caught up…. This is important..

Suggestion – A Hall of Monuments style Scrying Pool that allows you to see scenes from previous living story events – people could get the information that way.

The prime hologram fight is a wonderful example of this in that there are 2 tracks where you can fundamentally AFK to achieve them.
1) Never get hit by the laser fields
2) Never attack them without the proper colouring.

Enter the fight, get your colours, tap the holo a few times and then idle in the corner until that phase ends and you have to deal with the 3 seperatee colours(a little harder to AFK, but probably still possible)..

A guildmate of mine got the achievement for bigger not faster by being dead for the duration of an Assault Knight fight and simply being in the area…

So does anyone else remember when Dailies were simple and static?

That was it, that was all. You could easilly finish your daily if you were anywhere that wasn’t Orr(because of the whole Kill Variety thing).. Often times people would do whatever they wanted, and then come to the same place and do the same thing to finish their dailies every day.. Alternatively if you really didn’t feel like playing, log in and take 10 minutes or so in Queensdale or Wayfarer.. daily done..

They implemented this current system to shake things up and get people out into the world to do things they don’t normally do. This is why you have daily kills in X zone, or the like, to move people around and see/do things they wouldn’t normally do. The system is fine as is.

As has been mentioned you can use a transmutation crystal on the item to make it account bound, then throw it into the bank. People have been doing this to move otherwise soulbound items since game launch, getting Necro starting masks onto Ele, or different order armors onto their main for example. Would work with your Greatsaw as well.

While I will start out by saying that yes, the game needed some incentive to kill Champions, and the idea of Champion bags was a good one, the fact that they show up 100% of the time is unfortunately not so much.

With individual dungeon paths we get a popup box on the side of our screen with a rather significant portion of the rewards – a popup box that shows up for the first time per day that you complete a given dungeon.

While the game has already established that it wants to avoid the idea of repetitive farming behavior by putting those boxes in the corner for dungeons/fractals/world bosses, the DR system, and probably others, yet the Champ Train persists.. I wouldn’t think that its exactly feasible to treat champ bags in that same way however.

Could it be possible to allow players a certain number of champ bags per day? 20 Champ bags per day, regardless of how you get them, and killing a champion afterwards would provide only regular loot. Alternatively, don’t cap the number of champions, but cap the number per zone? 5 Champ bags from Queensdale, but you can then get champion bags elsewhere without a problem?

You do realize that an addition to health and toughness of enemies would only make the problem worse? People skip trash mobs already because they 1) take too long to kill and 2) don’t provide any real rewards… so lets make those things take longer to kill by giving them more health and armor.

Secondly, when they first brought up Ferocity, they said that the fully specked out for DPS builds would see about a 10% drop and that Ferocity would be a replacement to Crit Damage +% on stats. By increasing health and armor on thesee targets you’re looking at an across the board dps decrease, not just for zerker, but every armor combination. This wouldn’t provide new challenge or bring new compositions, it would just make everything take longer.

Alright – lets slow down that hate train.

I like the idea behind the achievements – however, a lot of the wording is either wrong or misleading. The dodge achievements for instance. Based off of the wording one can assume dodge one attack and you earn the achievement. However to do so one does not need to dodge simply not be hit by the atttack – at all for the entire phase – AND it needs to be finished successfully. Had this been clearly established I’m certain there would be much less frustration.

In regards to the level specific achievements, things get a little more dicey. If you enter a level you end up with the portal sickness, preventing you from entering other portals for 6 minutes or thereabouts, fundamentally preventing you from making attempts at the following few tiers. This brings up an interesting issue in that you might have some players not enter the portal and choosing to jump lanes specifically to attempt to get a certain set of achievements. As an example, last night I was in the second lane hoping for the last tier(Scream). Lane 1 failed at the sword level, and as such it was going to Lane 2. I already have the achievement for having dodged the sword attacks and had to choose whether I stay and help Lane 2 or jump to Lane 3 and hope.

It has happened several times that I’ve gone and found at the High Kick section of the Marionette and had the event successfully complete, and yet I have not been awarded the achievement for having dodged it.

I’ve tried dodge rolling out of the attack zone prompting thee Evade text, and simply avoiding it altogether. In both cases the event has succeeded, the chain is broken, and I still have no achievement.

The thing is, I’m actually quite certain that some of these achievements are in fact actually bugged. I’ve had several instances where I’ve gone in and avoided being hit by the High Kick attack and had the chain be severed and not had the chain click over. Its discouraging.

more than likely what ended up happening with the Ferocity patch is that they saw a problem that needed to be addressed and this was a stopgap meassure that could be implemented immediately while they work on a more permanent solution to the problem – which yes should involve a reworking on enemy ai, attack speed, and a rebalancing of other stats, like vitality, toughness, healing power, and condi damage.

You know what I’d also like to see – unlocked features for having completed the Personal Story.

Give us a flowchart or grid or some such for the Personal Story for that given race – showing ALL possible options – regardless of whether we’d taken it to begin with. Then allow us to play those options. Don’t let it overwrite our initial results, but at least let us see and play that content… Call it Another Life or whatever – you can even add achievements for it like Norn Completionist for doing all the Personal Story missions for a norn character lv 1-30 or so.

I still don’t understand how this “nerf” is supposed to bring zerker down and support up

Healing is useless because we have no trinity, and investing in defense makes even less sense because you are going to survive 2-3 more hits than a glass cannon, and deal 1/6 of the damage

except in many cases, you don’t survive 2-3 more hits.. against bosses, you’ll survive maybe 1 extra hit, and as such reflect, dodge, and evasion are still the order of the day, much of which can be done without issue on even the most glass cannon of builds.

In addition to the time gating on Damask or Deldrimor Steel, Charged Quartz Crystals are also time gated – It takes longer to make Charged Quartz than it does to make all the Damask you need for either a full Medium, or a full Heavy set of armor – only Light armor takes longer, and as such many players have only just recently finished Ascended Celestial or will be finishing very shortly. These proposed changes are very troubling – especially considering the time and materials required for making these armor and weapons.

I have multiple sets of armor. I’m not overly interested in being able to switch stats on one set on the fly so much as press key or toggle and swap from my first set of armor to my second set rather than having to manually go and equip each individual piece individually.

It is inherently a bandaid fix. They can tweak a number much more quickly and easily than to rebalance entire trait and ability lines and world content in fundamentally all zones.

Ferocity replaces the existing Critical Damage stat which had been represented as a percentage increase, and instead represents it now as a number, putting it in line with the rest of character traits. Characters who has been built for max dps will see approximately a 10% reduction in their dps output.

Honestly – the biggest issue with the presentation was putting people who are unused to public speaking address the public. You don’t have your techie answering the phones. orr filing your taxes. You also shouldn’t have your development or balance team address the public, even if it is about balance. You get the people actually trained to do so to do so.

the strength inherent in Celestial gear was its versatility, not its stat array. This being said as has been said in many other topics now, Ascended Celestial gear has a greater Critical Damage % increase than Ascended Zerker gear does whereas moving forwards with the proposed Ferocity change, Celestial gear will have a significantly lower Ferocity value than the Zerker gear.

Honestly, the biggest issue with Deceptive Evasion is that the clones it created often overwrote your actual useful illusions/phantasms. Ideally it would create a clone if you were not at your capacity of 3.

The issue in regards to Celestial vs Zerker equipment is that there are some instances in which the Celestial item has a greater Crit Dmg % increase than the Zerker equivalent. Going to a Ferocity stat, if they follow the existing stat array, Celestial will have a significantly lower ferocity than Zerkers. This further weakens the stat combination.

A full set of Zojja Armor has +17% Critical damage(According to wiki.gw2.com), whereas a full set of Wupwup Armor has +19% Critical Damage(According to my character). It will be interesting to note how Ferocity is employed on Celestial gear.

Starting Friday GW2 has had several discounted items available through gems, and while I did not purchase any I was very strongly considering having made a gem purchase. Now that I find out that there’s a bonus for purchasing gems in December I’m very glad that I did not. Had I made such a purchase I would feel incredibly frustrated. I would strongly suggest that this giveaway be made retroactive to those that had purchased gems within the last week of November as well so that those who made purchases during the Black Fourday weekend would also be included. Thank you for your concerns.

Alternatively, give bonuses every month for gem purchases. This month its a green backpack and a mini, in January its ???, February its something else…

I kind of half believe that the numbers for WvW achievements were initially meant as placeholder numbers that just got forgotten about and made it into the game.

Take Yakslapper for instance, which requires killing 1,000,000 Yaks. If you can kill 2 yaks every 5 minutes without ever stopping to eat or sleep, it would still take almost 5 years.
If you play for 2 hours a day and all you do is kill Yaks, you’re looking at finishing the achievement in about 59 years.

Crafting to 80 is out of hand.
