teamQ offers a similar experience and better rewards.
If you are good in any of the queues, then you get still the same rewards as bad players… (I know noone except me wants rewards in PvP, sry i’m greedy)
We really need some chance here… Leagues on the horizont! Btw. Where is the CDI for that?
I support this idea, but would implement it as optional setting in the options menue. I dont think there is much to code, because you already have the alternative character models… So i actually would not scale the character models, but use the alternative low res ones, until you come up with something better

Plz keep in mind, that you do not need money to exchange goods and services!
You win more often if you are better, or are you saying it doesn’t matter how good you are the matches are random?
If you are matched all the time vs the same teams, you will win more. BUT matchmaking will put you vs better teams if you rise in the ladder. Unless you are one of the best teams, there will allways be better teams than yours.
Meaning: You loose as much as before, just vs better opponents.

There is btw. an other aspect. If you watch the top teams fighting in ESL, you will notice, that their matches lasts longer than the matches in the 80% area. Which results in less wins/time.
So if you want to farm rank, it is actually better to be bad.

If you entered the match from PvE and leave the match before the time at the end runs out, you go back to “PvE World”. If you enter from PvP you are brought back to PvP.
Meaning: There is already the option you are looking for. You just may not enter a PvP match from the heart of the mists.

If you are better matchmaking puts you vs better teams. So you keep somewhere around a 50% win ratio only the top players got 60%
What happens to them before? – Nothing!
And this is most likely also your answer!
People aren’t ok with it. They just don’t care enough anymore to complain about it and have given up on hope with this games pvp. Just like the devs have.

I got more than 500 Boosters left, down from over 700 i had before, but it is just impossible to use them all… If i play one hour per day i cant avoid to finish my daily and i am rewarded with another one… so another hour to play. Im neither going to play 500 hours to burn all those boosters, nor am i going to delete them.
They mentioned an unlock system if i remember corectly. So i guess the pvp locker will be divided in sections and once you have unlocked all stuff from one section, you can go to the next section and unlock the stuff there. (Just my guess) It explaines pretty good why they keep telling s to fill the locker.
I would go for t2 armor and salvage it for tokens and craft infinite light. Its awefull expensive in pve and if they merge the gear i am able to wear a weapon that is worth 1000g++
At least something i can show from playing pvp!
Unfortunately i would have to start playing pvp again in order to do that… (I stoped quiet a while ago)
T3 armor is not worth it imo, it was more profitable to buy small wintersday gifts and sell them for gold after the event. So you make more gold with the same amount of glory than you need to buy the armor
But gifts are gone…

Well Anet would implement it as a button that gives 1 rank point per click… So that botters and script users have once more an advantage….

They will just remove the 100% bonus glory… as they did with %mf on celestial equipment in pve! There will be no replacement!
They will just delete your stacks of glory boosters, cause they dont care…
You will most likely keep your karma as you kept your QP. There will pbly stay also a way how to spent your karma on useless items.
I also gues you will keep your rank chest and you still can salvage them, but they want change them. crafting mats will remain useless and so on…
They had month to do anything about it, but once more they decided to ignore the wishes of the community.
As they always do… just look at glory bug from this presents, skyhammer farmers, pre match destroyable treb and gates (wow they fixed that…), skyhammer in soloQ…
You all know how Anet deals with this kind of thinks, but you have still hope, which makes me smile
EDIT2: Just use the boosters in wvw… You dont play Wvw? Well thats your problem! Its a gift dont complaine about gifts!!!!! And keep in mind that you still have one month to use them
So just play pvp all day until nex month, use all your boosters and everything is fine!

Additional Question: What happens to the pvp crafting materials?
Anet is balancing like this:
Warrior is weak? Okay we buff it!
Now Necro is weak? Okay buff it!
…
Now we have reached Ele… As other said ele was good as it was before. But if you buff everything else, then they become week.
Ele still can deal awesome dmg.
The litte survivability follows stright from the Anet way of balancing.
Ele has lowest hp and lowest armor.
Guess what happens if you buff the dmg of all other clases? Ele becomes a farm victim…
Thats what happend!
How to fix it? Nerf the others… If you add tons of survivability to the ele you are only creating a warrior 2.0
Maybe a misunderstanding about the term “PvP”! Maybe he refers to pvp as the daily stress in the office with the other guys, or sports…
I love the game, but I have many of the same complaints as any of the other players on the forum. I was getting trolled pretty hard by Hugh the other day… hambow is pretty OP, has nothing to do with him being better than me.

I also like the game, but i feel PvP is not worth playing it atm, maybe i will come back if you finaly made some major improvements.
I think the way you (ANet) are on ATM is the wrong way.
Rather then discussing balance with ppl who have no idea about balance, you should FINALY fix some things… Endless discussion with the wrong players will make the situation only worse
There are so many ppl in the forums that think warrior is well balanced… i could cry whenever i read that… Warrior is dominating both, PvE and PvP!
I think, for short term they are not worth investing. It’s high risk with uncertain reward…

2. Warrior (just to make that clear: Warrior doesn’t need help, but nerfing warrior would help all other classes!)

Ele is almost never seen in highrank pvp, because he dies way to fast.
Warrior is seen in EVERY high rank team! Balance is totaly broken…
(High rank has to be what you balance for, low rank you can just run everything, even BearBow)
If PvE:
1. Engineer
2. Ranger
3. Elementalist
I cant remember to have seen any Engeneers in PvE. Is there actually any viable PvE build?

Elementalist has nice dmg, but is very squishy! Better take guardian or warrior, they deal awesome dmg to and want be dead that often. ATM Ele is rather for high skilled players only.
Overall the Risk vs Reward is just compleatly broken!
For PvP its also important, that you guys realize, that different armortypes and life pools mean one thing:
If you increase the dmg overall (What you are doing quiet often), then this is like a nerf for all low armor classes/low hp classes!
Example: 10% dmg increase
Warrior can handle it, because he already got large healthpool and heavy armor.
Ele has a BIG problem, because he was squishy even before the dmg increase… Now he is one hit…

I’m not sure if you rly understand my question. I know about the Marionette event, but the rise in the ecto supply was present before the event startet.

You will notice for sure, that the supply is increasing since early dec 2013.
I know that massively amounts leave and enter the TP every day, but why is the supply increasing so extrem, while the demand is almost unchanged?
I’m not saying, that i unserstand the TP, but i would like to see an explanation.
Something like:
“People where hording ectos because of the ascendand armor crafting and are now selling them, because they do not need them!”

does anyone know, why there is such a huge supply of them atm?
I checked Gw2TP.com [show full history], it says the biggest supply so far was 80.000 at may 26 2013. Now its around 177.000! EDIT: (Rising since early december 2013 – there it where ~34.700) So I#m talking about the period between early december and now! That was pbly not clear…
I bought some today and i noticed, that they are sold in whole stacks, rather then in small amounts. So its not many people selling a few they got, but a few people selling huge amouts.
Anyone else noticed that?

I know you will hate me for this and i will be flamed hard, but i have to ask:
Why are you playing pvp, which is per default competitive (you play AGAINST other players), if you are playing almost not at all? You mentioned you play very rarely, so what is your intention to play pvp? To be good in pvp you need practice, im totaly fine with someone trying to get better and is practicing, but if you play so less you are not going to be good at any point in time! So having you in the team will always be a burden, sry for that, but it is true.
I know there are people, that play pvp just for fun and don’t want to be competitive. But pvp is competitive by default!
And you will almost ever have people in your team that play for win (hell this is pvp, of course it is about winning…) and this players are not going to like you until you play “good” and they will keep complaining about you (Or see you as a freekill and start to farm you).
And again sorry, but if you don’t want to play competitive, pvp is the wrong place for you! (If you wan’t to have a fun pvp mode, open a thread and tell anet about it.)
I have to disagree with this suggestion, because it would be devastating for professions without access to block/ evade skills on weapons aka Necro. On the other hand this would bring professions like thief/messmer absolutly out of control!

It would just insanly increase the effectiveness of burst builds.
Just take some time, record one of your matches and watch it then. Look exactly what you have doged and then imagine you would have been unable to doge in 50% of the cases. Which skill of a hamBow war you want to doge? Better think twice… and then doge twice!
It’s less skill and more lottery. (And don’t start telling me its less, because you need to time your doge more carefull…)

I assume you are a very buissy man, so i will summarize:
1.) We all got WAY to much crafting materials to only use them for crafting skins!
2.) The BIG problem are NOT the ones that we can use for crafting dyes! Even if the terrible design of the mystic forge sucks hard and shows how bad the design actually is! Did you ever tried to craft 250 dyes? Plz feel free to do it! As long as you have not done it, don’t comment on this!
3.) The big problem are the ones we really cant use! All the finishers (i got more than 200 tiger finishers) and the rank tokens (2 or 3 stacks tournament tokens).
So please don’t troll post again! If you want to troll us make all this crap sellable for 1copper… And we will say “Ty, Evan!”

U can really see funny things… mirrorblade shatter in the same second you use stability to safe stomp… a lot of crazy things happen out there^^
The problem cant be, that you are feared before lyssa triggers, because lyssa removes conditions as well…
But the problem can be a boon remove, followed by a fear, folowed by stability given by someone else. This leads to feared while stability is up…
Please keep in mind, that there are now bugs in PvP, so if it seems to be a bug it is working as intended!

They could insert a vendor, that trades leather for !ACCOUNT BOUND! consumables.
Maybe all stat consumables.
I agree, vendor value seems to be the best solution.
Art Progression
Art progression! It’s horizontal why not do it more!!! Well we do this a lot all ready and a lot of it’s constraints comes down to costs. Every single piece of art we make is not liked by everyone and so the amount of art you have to make to give everyone a smooth art progression curve is very high. The cost of making some pieces of art is also very high (Armor especially) sense very pair of gloves = 10 pairs of gloves due to race/sex. We think art is a great horizontal progression system but not something that can stand 100% alone due to constraints of creation.
I’m pretty sure if you would do a design contest, maybe even with ingame reward for the winners, you would receive tons of nice stuff! You did this once in gw1 and, no offense, but the weapons that were coming out there, where the best looking weapons in the game! Bone Dragon staff, Emerald Blade,… All the high end dungeon rewards!
I think such a contest would give you excelent feedback AND would also lower your costs for designing a weapon/armor.
I also like the concept of cultural armors, a huge amount of players the t3 is the best looking armor. I love the Norn, and the curltural armors are just way better, than all the other armors, because they fit into the norn “feeling”.
And i think the most players want a armor that fits to their character and to the gw2 world, rather than a good looking high tech armor from a science fiction film, which does not fit at all into the gw2 world.

Just to add two things:
First:
The bone dragon staff skin! I know soooo many people that want this skin to return… you already got the design… i read your previous post where you wrote “we cant put out new skins every week”, i undersand this, but so many people are also unhappy with the current legendary items… just give us a second set of legendry weapons! Bone dragon staff could be one of them.
The problem with the existing legendrys os, that if you want a mace, you a forced to craft this redicoulos disco stik… imagine this on a serious norn warrior… NO WAY!
Maybe do a cultural set of legendary weapons?!
I think progression is to muched tied to LUCK (rng), for example the tequatl skins.. I killed him more than 50 times and got NOTHING! Then i stoped killing him, its just no fun if you receive nothing… no progression at all at this point
Then a few month later i killed him again, rather because a friend wanted a skin, then me hoping for one. But as rng is… he got nothing and i got the skin, which is acc bound… yeah. So i got finaly something i wanted in the past…
But it is way to much rng! Maybe also add tokens per kill, maybe one token per kill and for 50 tokens you can exchance a weapon. So rng is still there, the drop, but you also have something you can work with, the tokens.

Now, after the 10th December update i finaly opend my tournament reward chests. Out of almost 750 chests, i received a very small amount of luck (not even 2%mf for me – i already got 140%, but still…), but a huge amount of crafting materials (around 12 stacks arcane powder, 1 stack tournament tokens LOL, 1 stack slivers, 2 stacks crytals, 4 stacks orbs – maybe one stack more or less, havent checked it again, but you get the point?!). I also got some elder wood logs and one oricalcum ore, the ore is from a “Lava Axe”. Furtheremore i got a few finishers… and i noticed that it is impossible to use finishers, that you already have available in an infinite amount. The only possible use is destroying them – but you have to enter the name if you want to do that…
So what can be done with crafting materials?
But lets see what else we got…So all that i can do is waste hours of my playtime to craft dyes O.O
Why this post?
I would like to suggest to the devs to introduces another vendor, that makes it possible to trade all the PvP crafting materials into PvE crafting materials.
A vendor seems to be something that can be implemented fast and easy. I understnad that you do not want to waste reources on this “problem”. But please dont just delete all the items.
And because crafting materials are not the only useless stuff we got in PvP, please also think about the large amout of finishers and rank tokens! Could we plz get a possibility to exchange them for something else?
If you got other ideas (Players) or plans (Devs) what to do with all this stuff, share your ideas with me

My only negative with this is a reward. 3 stupid presents for this is just a joke. Paths getting very repetitive when you completed them several times and there is become no challenge. So why should i bother in repetitve and static JP for 3 gifts, if i can do more fun things?

I think it is also bad, that solo/team arena are in the second tab and hj is in the third tab.. the first thing new players see is solo/team arena… BAD DESIGN!
We haven’t 100% nailed down our final plans for ranks, considering we were just persuaded to keep them in. We’ll be able to talk about it a bit more once we’ve had some additional time to discuss it internally. I’m assuming we’ll change them somehow – the amount of time a player would need to invest to hit 80 just isn’t reasonable.
I would prefer if you would chance the amount that is needed to rech high ranks, so lets say cap the required glory to the amount that is needed for idc.. rank 60? rank70? still having an exponential increase is hard^^
This would also be more fair comparing newer players and verterans. If you increase rank point gain, then it is way fast to reach high ranks, so new players actually have an advantage (they need to play less to achive the same).

Wth are you talking about? The gold income shouldn’t be astronomical as PVE. Otherwise you would see more and more people going for tPvP and SoloQ, just to farm gold, aka afkers and newbies. No more gold for win, thank you

The rank points are not in the chests…
They are rewarded at the end of a tournament match you won.

I really hope they will adress this. Especially because you can buy chest that contain items, that can be salvaged which has a chance to give luck… So exploiters can easily get a sweet amount of magic find.
Why not just give the possibility to select the first fractal… Like in the Dungeons where you choose your path? Easy to implement, but a nice improvement.
Maybe its an April Fool… in december…
Yeah, the guardian heal is … OP as the rest… 20% of your dmg… if this triggers on 5 targets as well… Full hp for the duration i suppose? working as intended?
So we are happy now if we see spirit rangers? just reroll meditation guard and farm them?

that is an awefull idea…
Because:
1.) There are players that dont like to be afk while they wait for matchups, therefore they log to another char and go pve, hj or maybe even wvw.
2.) If i play for example thief and my 4 team mates are also thiefs, than i would like to swap my character to have at least a chance.
I rather hate the ppl that dont enter matches in time, because the same that is true for the opponent team is true for your team. Lets say you run bunker guard, but could relog to hambow war. Noone enters in your team. And then right before start your team enters: 2 more bunker guards… awesome? rather not
EDIT: okay my first poit is invalid, just saw you wrote “after queue pops up”… still a bad idea!

Paricipate in the kitten storm! There are enough threads here on the foum, where you can tell the devs that you dislike the idea of rank remove and are going to leave spvp if they remove your rank. It at least SEEMS like the devs would understand that removing the ranks pbly is not a good idea.
Just play the parts of the game that are fun to you, if you like nothing the game offers, then quit.
You do not need to force yourself to do anything you do not want to do. And if you feel you have do to anything in the game that is not fun to you, but you just cant stop doing it, then you should deinstall the game and visit a doctor asap.
