I use this trait regularly in pvp. It’s a nice buff to have when you know pet will take damage.
Shame that it’s still at 25% instead of the ‘fix’.
But i don’t want to eat my pet wolf :-(
But jellyfish tastes so good. ‘Commune’ is probably a better word for vegetarians.
Try moving your ventari frame around – into bank, into other slots of your bags. Are you certain you have stuffing/glue/cogs in your inventory also?
I haven’t had any problems with mini or tonic aside from making sure the stacks actually had 250.
All of the problems you insist on are pet power and AI :P of which I don’t deny is an existing problem, and has been somewhat improved, but certainly not all the way where it needs to be yet.
As for making a ranger a sniper, that is your personal opinion, and it clearly isn’t what the designers intended or we would see such power moves with the longbow (and they have stated otherwise). If the game isn’t suited to your tastes, play something else.
The thing is, all of your complaints about weapon skills in comparison to thief/warrior are moot because part of ranger’s damage is supposed to come from the pet. Not that the current pet AI is perfect or anything, but this is the reason ranger comes off as weak.
Pet classes are often either too powerful, or too weak, depending on how they did the pet AI. What GW2 ranger needs is improved AI, received aoe damage reduction, and/or control, or else a ‘consume’ and gain part of the pet’s attributes if you choose not to use it.
If you are simply looking for a class that does good damage at ranged, you may want to look elsewhere, warrior and engineer fulfill that role as well. But if you’re looking for something other than that, that’s what the ranger should be (but isn’t quite there yet).
Oh, that makes sense, I didn’t even think about it >_> Thanks!
Well, this isn’t going to happen very often, but I’d like clarification on what determines winner, and hopefully it isn’t simply “red because red was first team”.
Someone thought it was last kill – which you can see in the screenshot, but it may not be the reason.
Personally, I’d love a legit tie, and if it was tourney to simply rematch it :P
golem and griffon can jump
princess has human female emotes, soldier has male charr
ventari has nothing
The vendor should’ve just had 10,000 wool turnin for the bell/endless tonic ON TOP of the RNG, then at least we know there’s an end in sight, but you could get lucky and get it earlier.
“Did you see what she was wearing?”
I think these wouldn’t be so bad if only they didn’t fire so often and perhaps cycled through variations.
Help! Me too, my alt just finished lv 10 story quest, it booted me to do the patch, I can’t log in now, stuck in loading screen!
Divinity’s Reach
I laughed at his misfortune. Poor guy. I really hope it’s a bug though.
I have no team so I don’t run paid, but it’s nice to see someone near the top with an opinion that things aren’t completely out of whack.
I think once we see teams that aren’t made up of the standard requirement: 1guard, 1mesmer, or whatever, then we can say the game is balanced. I think the main problem is that for most of the classes, people have decided on what is a must-have due to its strength (mesmer portal for example), whereas tons of skills/traits are never touched. This results in a single dominant build for that class, and everyone talks about that specific one because they encounter it most.
If we can one day see a five ranger team with different builds and actually being useful, that would be something.
It’s like a bonus for super bored jumpers …
Place for you to watch others fail.
Can anyone tell me if Soldier can dance? (like princess)
soldier does dance and other emotes, he’s a male charr
Sad because the soldier pop guns make noise
I think the female charr looks ridiculously silly, which is fine. Some people think she looks awesome. Our tastes aren’t going to carry across the board, and it’s nice to have some variety. Also remember these are town clothes and they aren’t going to fight in these outfits.
I do wish that both genders have access to both models, instead of the current restrictions.
It’s like those candy claw machines. You’re guaranteed a prize, but it is most likely not the one you want. The super awesome everlasting gobstopper is there but is mysteriously repelled until you’ve sunk a sufficient amount of tries.
It’s a business strategy, and it is one that works. Sadly I’ve played at least two games that use this method and they do make tons of money despite all the complaints.
he’s rank 15 farming hotjoin, yeahh lol
All of the swap sigils have an internal cd about 9-10 seconds, and yes they do proc on attunement swap.
Doesn’t become bound.
Still timed, but you can keep re-using.
Actually I had been regularly crashing every time a gate falls and we get inside (and yes I’ve tried waiting too). So, I don’t get any credit and I get slapped with a repair bill for no reason.
Yep, pretty much my experience also, opened well over 4000 boxes. But the bell is awesome.
Well, I’m glad OP got a response. Flissy is mostly angry about the cog problem, not the reduced dungeon rewards.
I don’t see how anyone could say players should’ve expected such a problem. We were all under the impression that the winter dungeon is different.
I love the outfit
Don’t like the scepter so much but ehhh. I’m actually quite pleased there isn’t some sexy elf/santa outfit, I’m scared what the asura would look like….
That’s hilarious. I’m sorry I laughed. Hope they fix that asap, it really hurts mesmers a lot.
Pick a tankier or ranged pet, sheesh.
Let’s see, you are comparing two different classes with unsimilar builds. Hey, I wonder why you think your support warrior is more supportive than your dps ranger.
I hope you use throw mud :O At least, the area on this is huge, and if he has to avoid it because you missed, hopefully you picked a good choke point. If this is wvw, I’d say just run away :P Not worth trying to beat him when it takes too long anyway.
The best strategy I can offer is to start counting when he disappears. Ranger is unfortunately one of the worst classes against thief, but I try to keep the range on the p/d, rather than trying to close distance to melee him, by the time you get there, he’d be gone.
I think that there are a slew of problems with engi – tons of useless or broken utilies and traits, but I think you only have a valid point on #3-#4.
Grenade was very powerful, and while I have noticed the decrease in pve, that may actually put it in line with what the class is supposed to do, offer the ability to switch between weapon and kits (styles of gameplay) with no cds. The toolbelt skills are while they could stand to be less random, are actually the extra skills a lot of people are complaining they lost.
In pvp I have noticed not much of a change really, in fact the sigil usage now changes some damage, may not be the straight damage you want from grenades, but I feel it offers more variety to what an eng might play.
And if you have problems with mesmer as an engineer, you need major practice :P
What does the bell focus noise sound like?
Nothing, no noise either.
I want the pink one with a bow.
Please make
I was disappointed too, I really expected a noise.
Wintersday jumping was a huge improvement over Clocktower, but here’s my issues:
a) still put into groups of players where your character gets lost (better once they start failing, but still)
b) there’s some weird bugs, involving getting sent back to start without falling, and hitbox of snowball, probably others. These things should always be tested before going live. There’s no excuse. Personally, I’d rather not have the holiday – delay it for next season – than be frustrated with the bugs.
Timed is a lame difficulty. If they want to make such a thing harder to satisfy certain people, the rewards can be scaled as appropriate. I hate this method because if I just want to reposition my camera, there’s no time, resulting in many falls.
That was hilarious. Great vid and cool idea It also puts the whiners who think pet is useless in their place.
Would be nice if when you go back to PvE it tells you which zone you would be going to :O yeahh it says so in the loading screen after but you’ve already picked it. Maybe I don’t want to go back to Orr and deal with aggros right this moment, but too late, already pressed it.

A forced “login” does not return you to where you were but to the main page
—-
Not a bug but BUGGING ME GREATLY, is similarly when a friend links me a specific thread, and it’s been a day since I’ve last logged in to forum, it’ll ask me to log in – not a problem, though I would like to have a week or perm login option available. I log in, then it sends me to front page, and not the thread I was trying to access in the first place. Please make this quality of life change :/
The spvp unidentified dies used to be unbound :P Now they are account bound. I think anet noticed the increase in silver and changed it.
The gates definitely close wayyy too fast.
In any case, the way I got past this mission is by missing the gates, fighting the bandits on foot both at the gate and at the mortar site.
I’d really like for ArenaNet to issue a response to this. The Tier 2 Asura Cultural Weapons are clearly not Asura-themed and need to be replaced.
Similarly the Sylvari t1 is not Sylvari themed. I hope they add replacement skins but well, seeing as how it went live like that ….
You take the risks of being in such a zone. I wouldn’t expect anyone to go easy on you just because you’re naked and stupid…
This quest is bugged for me too. In my case, the cannons work (kind of, they have VERY BAD jumpy camera action) and I can use it to destroy the mortars, I even get the sound for completion of that objective, but the bandits at the gate are invulnerable no matter if I use the oil or try to kill them without it. I have tried to kill the gate bandits before I do the mortars, same deal. Always invulnerable.

That’s a great idea, and gives much more usage to townclothes.
I made the switch from dagger to scepter because range is a benefit in most dungeons/pvp, and almost a necessity in wvw.
Choosing scepter over staff depends on your group and whether you want the longer range and a bit more aoe power.
Not saying the pvp system doesn’t need fixes, it surely needs some in the balance department, more maps/match-types for sure, but the system as a whole is great right now. People who want to will pvp and practice for skill, if they’re good, they show off via skins. Now, if you want to push for new emotes, new more awesome skins, some super sparkly effect, I’m not even averse to karma rewards either, go ahead.
Ele has the combination of lowest armor + lowest hp. So yes, you’re getting hit harder in relation to every other class. You can build a little bit better in toughness/vitality.
In pve, I generally use both elemental glyphs, and they tank pretty well if you’re having trouble (use one at a time to better stagger them). Also consider blink, and perhaps signet of air which helps for escaping tight spots.
I also recommend playing as d/d or s/d, staff doesn’t seem to have the same mobility for pve.
Eng downed skills are actually quite awesome.
In a downed vs downed fight yeah… I can understand the frustration.
a) you’re downed and he’s low and drops to downed, he still has more hp and will probably beat you
b) he’s downed and you drop to downed, well best you can do is try not to get to this point, because you’re giving him the advantage.
c) you both kinda drop at the same time, same as b)
P.S. if you are awesome you can throw elixir R right before you drop. I’ve had this save me so many times.
