At this point, and since they released Transmutation Splitters, I’m sure the only reason behind soulbound items is to make money via the gem store. Which is completely lame, but it’s the only way you can give expensive skins/legendaries to alts.
If Kraitkin was a staff I’d say go for it, but since it’s not, I don’t think any legendary would look nice on a necro, and some exotic weapons/skins are 10000 times better (Final rest/scythe staff skin, Eye of Rodgor, Marjory axe/dagger).
They could just add some poison to the water (like they did with the water around the nightmare tower)… water skip fixed. Instead of this they add some bugs to Alphard making her harder for pugs. xD
kitten man, that’s a perfect solution and no dev will ever read it.
I dont know what they did to the turrets at the waypoint.. I’ve no problem going past it when soloing. However in parties if someone has already past it I would need shield block or endure pain to get past if running through the turrent.
Dear lord, I was cursing the kitten out of Anet a few days ago trying to do that on mesmer, with a bunch of spiders piled up around the turret.
About your first question, yes, they are skins now, and you can choose to use then in PvP or PvE like any other skin.
I remember one time in a SE run. There was an incredibly annoying ele who kept telling everyone what to do. I couldn’t wait to finish the run and gtfo.
So when we killed the last boss I left so fast I didn’t get the chests.
I think during the new fractals stream they said they were thinking about a solution for unused rings, and that salvaging was probably gonna be it.
But considering the new sigil/rune recipes use shards of cryst mists essence I bet it’ll be those kinda mats.
I wonder if anyone can guess who he is, he has a very prominent name in pvp.
Does his name start with C?
He could camp shortbow in my pug any day.
/fangirl
That was just…
beautiful.
This system would be only acceptable if TP war was the main part of the game and you could win by dominating the TP….its not in a game called guild wars 2 based on Killing stuff.
Here is my stance on this subject:
So you can say that it isn’t acceptable, but the guy in charge of that part of the game said it is.
It would be great, but I’ve no hopes they’ll add anything Lupi-like soon.
After Liadri I thought they were gonna release more cool solo stuff, but they didn’t.
People want easy-zerg content, not hard-solo content.
I would guess that they may come from the WvW zerg crowd and have no idea about the differences between the 2 environments. Same problem w/ so-so players w/ zerk gears in PvE trying to roam w/a small group in WvW.
That’s why probably.
It makes sense tho. A lot of people don’t care about PvE/dungeons enough to get a different set of armor/weapons/sigils/runes but they still wanna run it for tokens/gold.
Just like some PvErs jump in WvW zerg with zerker gear being rally bots.
About the OP, at least those guys didn’t join your “zerker only” party. The only thing I truly hate about soliders/clerics is when they join speedruns to leech everyone else.
If her pull is reflected the Big Ol’ Bomb doesn’t explode
Oh boy, that makes it even easier than before
If you do get pulled, can you use mantra for stability and dodge before the explosion or it’s literally instant?
Ohhh nooooo. Now people have to play the encounter as intended…
Ikr? Chaining stuns is so hard for some people.
I’ll just bring my s/p thief for that path.
Oops I had been away for finals, just saw the armor boxes.
The thing is 15k glory + 6 gold is nothing, but people could get Arah sets from tournament chests before. So anyone who played enough sPvP/tPvP will probably spend the glory leveling all their lvl 2 characters instead of buying sets they already have.
It’s only unfair because hotjoin farmers can get it too, not having played a single tournament/run Arah a single time.
But whatever, really, Arenanet loves rewarding braindead farmers.
I heard that the change where you can obtain extremely cheap dungeon armor in sPVP and then bring it into the PVE realm was coming down the line?
Is this true? What about all of us players who put so many hours into hard dungeons like Arah just to get an armor set? In the future sPVPers will just be able to have the same prestigious armor skins as we do for a fraction of the time/cost?
Please tell me this is not going to happen.
It works all the way around too. I got a few Feathers and Wings of Dwayna by winning tourneys, and those skins are around 350g (can’t remember exactly) in PvE.
Same thing with some lowbie PvE skins that can be obtainable only by reaching high PvP ranks.
Anyways, I think they’ll totally rework the way you get skins in PvP with the new “updated reward system”. But they haven’t explained much about it.
Remember the times when Dungeon Master meant something?
Yeah, back then I knew that guy had leveled a warrior and bought/farmed/crafted berserker gear.
Such prestige.
The closest thing we had to multipaths was CoE 3 in 1.
Too bad it was an exploit.
The other 2 should have kicked the guy who wasn’t the instance owner as soon as they realized what they were doing during Maw instead of proceeding with the fractal.
Then the only alternative for them would have been to destroy the instance for everyone.
I know I woulda done it. I rather get no reward than letting 2 scrubs get theirs while scamming someone else. Specially because that could be me in a future run, and then I’d have to come here and write a thread like yours.
But well, most pugs don’t care about it until they are the ones getting kicked and the kick vote system makes things worse.
People who call for things like champ trains to be nerfed need to be banned, at least for two weeks, because obviously they have a mental condition (parentalism) that needs to be cured.
Good try son, but champ farming has been already nerfed a few times, and will (hopefully) be nerfed more in the future.
Make the fights actually require teamwork and positional awareness, improve the bosses’ AI (and give them multiple abilities to choose from), and suddenly things become a lot less exploitable and repetitive.
Can you imagine the level of failure and whinning there would be if dungeons were “even harder”?
Good players would still figure it out and do it with ease, same thing happens with high level fractals, soloing lupi and so on.
Some would care about learning and getting better. And all the rest, specially those here complaining about how hard AC is, would either quit or die from frustration.
I got my title running with a few guys and posting “LFM DM title run, watching guide” so people knew what to expect.
And the truth is for most dungeons we got experienced people willing to give us a hand.
Just to make it clear, each path of each dungeon has its own recipe.
This old thread has more info about it.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Dungeon-crafting-recipe-drop-list/first#post2006897
I’d say, enjoy your dungeon experience while it’s still super hard and challenging.
Now you may think that failing isn’t fun but once you learn everything you need to know you’ll be asking for harder content.
The Amazons were a tribe from ancient Greece that consisted of female warriors- and they were very much human.
ohh I did google underboob at your suggestion and I found an image I really like- it certainly is tasteful and very sexy but also contains a real person so I won’t post it here
No, when you said “amazons warriors” I thought about, you know, snu snu? Which to me fits the norn race in gw2, but it doesn’t fit the human race in gw2.
Also, you could crop the face if that’s the only problem with posting it. I know I wouldn’t post underboobs here because I don’t wanna get infracted.
This is what my thief looks like. A mix of many armors. My ranger got to inherit the rest of the magitec armor because I only liked the leg pieces.
I had no idea that the Arah armor was censored, but the change did indeed make the armor look better.
I would love to see more elegant medium chest pieces, that don’t make female characers look bulky or clumsy (like the vyper one does) or force a trenchcoat on you.
That’s super similar to how my new ranger looks, btw :P
And it wasn’t explicitly “censored” but they did change it by covering the fleshy boob, and yes it looks better now. Before it wasn’t even sexy, just bizarre.
What’s even more bizarre to me is the amount of females loving these little details that make armor sets look trashy. Like they fulfill some kind of fantasy through gearing they characters that way.
oh my guess you have never heard of amazon warriors? You are in for such a cshock
And that’s why norn cultural armor is fine being skimpy and showing those fit, muscular bodies and tattoes. It just looks great for a race of hunters that live in the middle of the wild.
But humans? Not even taking into account that most human faces look like school girls.
People saying that taste is subjective, do you know there’s something called “standards”?
Do this thread a favour and google “underboob” and find me a single picture that looks classy, tastefull or anything remotely close to that.
“Just because I don’t like doing it, others shouldn’t have fun doing it either.” Makes sense.
You can have all the fun you want, I couldn’t care less about that, but inflation affects me and guess where is all that gold coming from.
Sure trains shouldn’t disappear, is a relaxing activity for those who wanna play in easy mode. The problem is that the easiest activity in the game shouldn’t be the most rewarding.
One. My guardian.
The only profession besides Warrior that’s “good” in all aspects of the game, and almost always welcome in groups.
Guardian as a class is good in all aspects of the game, but you still need different armor sets, weapons, trinkets, sigils and runes for each aspect of the game if you wanna be a good player.
I agree with you in how tasteless that chest piece is. But well, we shouldn’t judge other people for wanting to see a digital underboob while playing a videogame, eh?
I still find amusing that they didn’t change it early after release, just like they changed Arah heavy set for females.
So yeah, a fleshy boob in the Arah set was censored, but the 30g underboob in the human T3 wasn’t. And won’t be. So all you should ask for is new non-trench coat skins.
This is how my old ranger used to look:
https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/45172/126384895-4.jpg
Now with the krytan, magitech, vipers and aether sets you can create some cool looks. But buying a gem armor just for 1 piece is not worth it for me.
Without defiant spiky fruit and pistol whip would rule the world.
People shouldn’t expect good runs if they don’t set them up with their guildies/friends.
Knowing what to expect in a pug would be much easier if people read descriptions before joining or actually cared about filling the reqs. When that happens pugs are great.
Also, yes, Arah is easy when you care about learning it. But it’s hell when you put 3, 4, 5 people together who don’t wanna listen, or watch a guide, and run PVT builds while camping range weapons. And ofc those people don’t read this subforum.
Still dissapointed they didnt add whole grenth armour but just hood for 500gems x.x . And the back part of hood is looking silly. Ofc its necro
.
Thx for tip to person bellow me
.
For some reason seeing those 4 identical (5 probably, with your necro) characters is kinda creepy :p
i will repeat myself again, the gold rewards from sPvP must be significantly insanely absurdly higher when compared against PvE / WvW in order for the sPvP population to be at a healthy level again.
many players play for rewards.
the current sPvP rewards is very inadequate.
the new sPvP rewards better be worth the trouble.
PvP should be about quality over quantity. Would you say that Queensdale or Frostgorge Sound have a healthy amount of population only because there are zergs running the map like a swarm of bots? What about WvW with the karma trains?
PvP should have its own rewards, something to show off, like unique skins or gems, etc. Buying tomes of knowledge with glory would be really cool. But farming gold?
If you wanna keep the PvP population healthy better talk about balance and new game modes/maps.
What: Shadow’s Embrace.
Why: Because the tooltip says so.
Done it once, never again.
And only leveled once again till the mission where you pick an order, just to get the skins.
If you want a rewarding leatherboard go play tournaments or do high level fractals, or even join a server with an organized WvW team, but achievement points?
Really?
I don’t get it.
Level and gear alts, for different builds, and don’t forget getting them pretty skins.
There you go, all your gold is gone.
will I be able to wear my Arah set which I’ve earned in sPvP in PvE/WvW too? I’ve never been in Arah (dungeon) before.
I have Arah sets both in PvP and PvE and feel like it’s unfair for both sides, but specially for the PvE side.
And come on, even achievement points chests contain tournament skins.
How long till they allow players in PvP to buy fractal weapons for gold?
Anyways, as long as the PvP way to earn gold and experience isn’t faster than the PvE way, I’ll welcome the changes. The last thing PvP needs is a huge influx of PvE players farming skins/gold/exp.
Except, AP is usually a good indicator if someone is good. A guy with 6k AP (especially a gold star) generally knows what hes doin, while a dude with 800 AP will usually end up dying or not doin enough dmg to begin with.
I used to think like that until the LS content made gaining/farming APs extremely easy by autoattacking in the middle of a zerg.
So when I see someone with 10k AP and a gold star the first thing that comes to my mind is twilight camping mesmers, bifrost-eles, juggernaut-guardians, the dreamer-thieves, etc.
even if you thought i did rage quit…. at least wait 5 minutes before kicking. i was literally offline for less than 2 minutes. ;/ but yea i know all about these pug issues and it’s really sad. you never know when a good run would turn into kitten and you just end up wasting so much of your time over nothing.
Yep, can’t tell how many times I’ve seen someone dc and immediatly get kicked. Or people that said “brb restarting pc” and get kicked 1 minute later because someone didn’t read. Even had a guy trying to kick someone because he was appearing offline, even when he was right in front of us.
So many tards around.
As the screenshot of my PUG shows, not really. (Doctor Derek and I are condition builds.)
IIRC you two usually post “LFM no conditon builds”, so I guess you already know how much harder it would be having 5 condition builds in your party, even in a fractal that reduces direct damage when endurance is low.
Dragons? What’s dragons?
They should just replace the dragon in Guild Wars 2 logo with Scarlet’s face.
Just search “Dye” order by price, and there you go.
It has to be an already existing PvE set, with added flames, that’s it.
The masquerade set is pretty but too mesmerish. The winged set is more neutral and extremely popular. I’m sure even more people would buy it if they choose that one.
OMG. They finally did it!!! Looks like anet is taking a lot of good steps in the right direction right now
- First the GvG arena: Hooray!
- Account-bound fractal level: Hooray!
- Then they delete the cultural armour from gem store: Hooray!
- Then they decide to make WXP accountbound? Hooray!
The only thing we need now is account-bound ascended gear (swappable between light, med and heavy? :o).
Thank you arenanet! I have faith in you again.
Agreed with all of that. I even don’t feel like complaining about everything all the time.
/happypanda
I’m not the kinda person that cares about lore or anything. But sometimes I just stumble upon some GW1 story, and read a bit about it and think darn, why can’t GW2 have some of that instead of Scarlet? Then I might actually care about what’s going on instead of skipping every cutscene.
What agony resistance is required to get through level 50 without agony issues?
I was very interested in playing the new fractals until I read this thread. I cannot believe Anet would make gaining agony resistance this difficult and arduous to attain. Obviously fractals are not meant for the casual player to enjoy at all. What level can the casual player realistically get to without too much time spent gaining all this impossible agony resistance?
You don’t need to get through lvl 50 to experience the new fractals, specially if you are a casual player. And you still can buy +5 AR infusions from the vendor for 75 fractal relics.
If you have 6 ascended trinkets that’s 30 AR, add an ascended weapon and you have 35. That’s enough to go through lvl 40.
If you still wanna go for lvl 50, by lvl 40 you’ll have enough mists essenses to infuse your rings, and relics (but maybe not ectos) to infuse your backpiece, and enough +1 to craft some infusions. So it’s not as bad as it seems.
(edited by Upham.6137)
Fractals give now quite a lot of rares now and are really easy, almost faceroll-ish.
Yesterday I finished a 34 and after I cleared the inventory I noticed I had around 10 rares + 2 [untradable] exotics + a few agony infusions + 1 gold.
Also, one of the fractals was urban and the npcs did all the work. Can’t complain.
I am a ranger….
I’ll just say it’s rangers like you that give the class a bad reputation, and the kind of pug nobody ever wants to see in their parties. Not all rangers are like that, some are actually great players.
