Why can’t we unlock new finishers the higher our WXP rank gets just like PvP players can with the higher rank they achieve? For example,
WXP rank 0 you get rabbit.
WXP rank 30 you get deer.
WXP rank 60 you get dolyak.
WXP rank 120 you get wolf.
…
WXP rank 3840 you get dragon.
Like others said, no, those are sPvP finishers, and rank there is account wise, as it should be in WvW too.
But yay for new finishers.
You can already party up with or whisper enemies, so the spy thing is no excuse.
Sometimes I /laugh before getting downed by a group, and if they procede to dance on my corpse maybe take out my wind kite as a sign of discontent towards their noobish behaviours.

How many times have I seen guardians targeting rabbits to judge’s intervention/flashing blade the f* away from me.
I don’t mean to be rude, but I absolutely hate it when people want to balance things “cross class”. What’s the point of a class system then? We might as well all run the same profession.
So now that warriors mobility is insane that’s just part of the classes differences which makes the game more enjoyable, but when eles could do the same with RTL they got nerfed. What’s the logic there?
Warrior’s mobility is part of their class but so was my ranger’s pet damage and it got nerfed, and so on.
I do get your point, of course I like to have different classes/builds that are good at different things, but the class system doesn’t mean that every skill/trait is balanced and don’t need some kind of nerf.
Seriously, stop whining. Go to a lower tier server. Problem solved.
So all the organized guilds that’s been playing in that server for a year should transfer to a lower tier server, till they start doing good, get full of bandwaggoners/AP’s farmers, and then transfer again. Sounds reasonable.
I don’t know what the rest of the players think, but I feel I could come up with better looking armor skins than these.
And it’s not about belittling the work of the designers, but seriously, I know they can do better than that.
Loot should stay in PvE. Like DrWhom said, we already have enough with the karma trains.
If you want loot you can always spend those 15 min farming champs. Which doesn’t sound time consuming at all, if you ask me.
I didn’t care until they added dumb things like Guard Leech and Applied Fortitude – random stat bonuses for spending ages grinding doors.
Thanks, but no thanks. When it only impacted siege wars I didn’t care, but affecting player battles was too much for me. I want no part of their mindless grinding.

I know the idea may sound nice to you, but just think about it.
Every zerger gets masteries 100000x faster than any roamer out there, so zergs would be running this before anyone else.
And really, I’m freaking tired of all these stack buffs. It gets to the point when some people won’t get into a fight until they have their max bloodlust/corruption, guard leech and applied fortitude stacks. And when they do, they’ll instantly bail if they notice it’ll be a tough fight, cus hell, having a fun fight is not worth it when it means that you’ll have to spend 15 min farming mobs and sentries in order to get an advantage, right?
Well, that’s pure bullkitten to me. And as a roamer it’s bores me to death having to zerg to get those 2 masteries already, and what’s even more frustrating, rank it’s not account wise. So no, I’d hate anything like this if it was implemented.
I think a 15-20sec ICD would be better. I don’t think the runes themselves are that bad, it’s the ability of some classes to spam interrupts what makes them awful.

roaming is, in essence, the art of avoiding fights you will lose and pursuing fights you will win.
seeking fairness is pointless since a 1vs1 where both parties have stat equilibrium will happen just about never.
Speak for yourself. For me it’s the art of finding good fights. Good meaning challenging. So I’ll generally leave uplevels alone and obvious zergers like staff eles.
Your 2nd claim is only true after bloodlust and one of the reasons I don’t WvW anymore.
Also, most 1v1s are boring, until recently my build was optimized for 1vX rather than 1v1. I would rather push my limits with 1v2s, 1v3s, even 1v4s, 2vx etc… while dying most of the time. But ok that’s my idea of fun.
Pushing your limits versus X, not so obvious (but still zerger builds), and avoiding challenging 1vs1 builds (sPvP) —-> Check.
Not necessarily. There are a lot of people roaming with 1 or 2 other players. And even if it is zergers builds, fighting 3vs1 is harder than fighting 1vs1 against someone spec’d for that, at least from my personal roaming experience.
To the OP, I used to think just like that. But since I assumed that I was always gonna get 3vs1’d at least, I started using perplexity runes, food at all times, and slowly farming wxp to level my masteries.
Looking for fair fights is just a waste of time in T1. Closest thing I got today was a 2vs1 against 2 hammer warriors, so you get the idea.

I think sPvP is really nice in that aspect. I do like the variety in WvW, being able to mix stats and food buffs. But all the ascended stuff with the stats increase is pretty lame to me.
But anyways, a lot of people seem to enjoy that play style. In my case, I’d love to be able to have longer and more sustained fights.
Exactly what pejot said. A good way to avoid this is to place siege at the sides of the gate, instead of right in front of it.

It can zerg (Hammer shouts). It can run away from anything (GS + S/Warhorn). It can 1v1, (M/S + GS lololol), it can 1vX (Condi bunker).
Absolutely this. And as a roamer, kitten how I hate lb/s-s warriors.
Use their moa ability on someone who you already outnumber 3+ on 1… I hate you.

To me it’s just a way for bad mesmers to try trolling people in outnumbered fights. So take it as it is, and look for better players to fight against.
RIOT’s definition of small team roaming synonymous with gank squad, and run away from anything actually challenging.
Though in all fairness your group setup is tight. Don’t presume to kitten with these guys if you haven’t got your kitten together.
As a player that only solo or duo roams in WvW, that’s exactly what RIOT represents to me. Every time I see that tag I get ready to be chased by 5 people around the whole map.
So I’m not saying they don’t have decent players, but “gank squad” fits better than “small team” imo.
Just an idea, why don’t all the people here asking for fixes and bans add each others and run it properly? I think that would be way better than just keep whining on the forum cus others are exploiting and don’t wanna play with you.

Everyone loves pulling people in zergs, but I’ve tried it in tpvp and small fights in WvW and it really needs some improvements.
I’ve managed to pull thieves out of shadow refuge with it but it’s more about luck and they not knowing what the hell is going on.
It’s a shame that Off-hand training makes the pull harder to land, cus if you have an enemy at less than 1000 range, the axe makes the whooooole path until it comes back and pulls, so it can be too easily avoided just by strafing.
I think it should have sooome homing and/or pull as soon as it hits a target. I know it’d only be single target, but to be honest, I don’t care about its uses in PvE, since other classes pulls are so much reliable.

I have to disagree too.
2vs1, AoE pulls/fears/knockbacks are awesome to get a safe res, but if you don’t have those, AoE/dps on top of your downed ally. That should be enough to kill any zerker scrub trying to get the kill, or make him run away and lose stealth giving you more time to res (and now your ally can use his downed state interrupt)
Don’t waste time ressing unless you know the downed person will self-heal too, cus otherwise the thief is gonna stomp anyway, or backstab the kitten out of you.
3vs1, just res, he can’t stomp faster than that.
If it’s a 1vs2 or 2vs2 against a thief and a downed enemy, and he dropped a shadow refuge, unless they are guildies and he called it on TS, the other person will probably keep attacking you desperately and will lose his stealth. Anyway, AoE interrupts are a awesome, if not, dps on top of the downed enemy (use poison if you have).
This may not work 100% of the times, but after getting used to doing this stuff you’ll be far away from thinking stealth stomp/resses are OP.
And if you are a warrior and never 100b’d a stealthed thief trying to res/stomp, I don’t know what you are doing in WvW :p

Actually, no, I hate general PvE, and what I do the most is WvW roaming and pvp. I’ve always played tanky builds cus I feel that’s what rangers can do best, tho.
I also have been a ranger since then, I find your comments puzzling. You honestly see nothing wrong with the state of our class? You feel that pet mechanics, spirits, and all of our weapons are well balanced and equally viable? You feel that we we are as diverse and as useful as any other class in all aspects of the game and have exciting and compelling build options present in each of our trait trees?
The fact that I’m really happy with this patch doesn’t mean that I think the ranger class is perfect, or the most powerful, or the best for every situation and game aspect.
Pets still need AI improvements. They are awesome against static players but can be frustrating against players who know how to kite, that’s why we need to use our cripple, inmo, stuns, chills etc.
Spirits are a lost cause for me, not gonna lie. But I do love our weapons. I know some of them are more useful in more situations, but I’ve tried every single weapon combination and I enjoy a lot of them.
And having just a few viable builds is a problem all classes have, so I’m not gonna complain about it on the ranger forum.
I can’t understand how this forum went from having a looooooot of happy players asking for tips, theorycrafting and sharing builds to what it is right now.

If you want people to want you in their party run a warrior or a guardian.
Beside those 2 you’ll never see a “LF mesmer/ele/thief/engie/necro/ranger” (ranger being the least desired), with the exception of mesmers for CoF path 1 farming ofc.
That said most dungeons paths are pretty easy once you learn them and people just want to make them easier by running an “optimal” or the “most efficient” party composition.
People hate the typical shortbow ranger standing in the back autoattacking with a dead pet by their side and it’s completely understandable, but if you take the time to learn your class, you’ll find yourself being usefull to your teammates.
To sum it up, If you have in mind running high level fractals or going for the Dungeon Master title, or farming dungeons to make gold, don’t go for ranger.
If you are just a casual player or you are only interested in dungeons to gear your toon and do WvW (my case), don’t even worry about that, rangers are fine.

I’m really sorry to say this but I’m deeply dissappointed after listening to Karl just describing every class instead of talking about class balance at all. Can’t believe he’s so badly prepared to explain his work.
