If someone is terrible he can have all the stacks he wants and is still gonna suck. But put that on a skilled player and it makes a huge difference.

The worst part? All you need to make someone with max stacks of everything run away is not being a free kill, while roamers who don’t spend time building stacks are more likely to engage in hard/outnumbered fights

1vs1 does not automatically mean that the fight is fair, not even when its the same class. My mesmer is build for solo roaming, if i attack another mesmer who is running group utility skills like Veil, Portal or Null-Field, then i have a huge advantage against him, despite the fact that we play the same class. That has absolutely nothing to do with “if he is bad, then he is dead”.

If you want to fight 1vs1 without a disturbance , go behind the windmill, there you will find like-minded people for fair fights.

Players truly spec’d for zerging do run tank/support builds and don’t wander around on their own, flipping sentries and getting vistas while trying to catch up with their zergs.
The other zergers (aka"rally bots") are just people running the max dps/tagging build they could come up with to farm achievements, loot bags, and what not.
I couldn’t care less about them getting ganked to be honest.

But I was actually talking about roamers. Not all of them like dueling, and I’d say most of them don’t like fair/tough fights.
So if a guy jumped on someone expecting to win and then started losing, why would I help him? He’s not gonna die IRL, and losing is how you get better.

Also, I rather stick around south ruins area where more people will try to interrupt the fights, but also where anyone interested can easily see us and join the fun.

Those aren’t scape options. Those will only get you a few more seconds before chasers catch up.

Actually, the phrase “Play how you want” is not meant to be interpreted as “Go sit in a corner and craft your way to max level.”

People have always had the option to level via open world PvE, switching chars at the end of a dungeon run, karma training in WvW, doing personal story, crafting, etc.
The other options are still as viable as they used to, but crafting is not.

So “go sit in a corner and craft your way to max level”, which requires gold/mats is not supposed to happen, but doing nothing but a Living Story event -> Crown Pavillion/Invasions/Labyrinth/Toxicwhatever to go from 1 to 80 is. (that’s what I do, btw)

you really should be playing your character in open world so that you know what you are doing when you actually get to level 80 and start doing end game content. That way you don’t get kicked out of a Fractal or High Level Dungeon for being a noob.

So you are basically saying that all the terrible pugs we all see are noobs because they didn’t complete enough hearts. Interesting.

Never help a teammate in a 1vs1 unless he’s a lowbie or a staff ele (bearbows can die, I hate them too much).

If you are all so convinced that minigames ARE PvP, I’m sure you won’t have any trouble joining PvP matches to gain glory when they fix this bug.

Grinding is self-imposed. That’s true in all MMOs and especially true in this one, from what I’ve been able to tell so far. I was actually shocked at how small the difference is in stats between super-expensive and very affordable items.

Anyone can do totally fine wearing full exotics, and getting those is extremely easy and have multiple different ways.

Now, if you wanna have legendaries, multiple ascended weapons, exclusive skins, etc, you are making your game a grindy one, so either enjoy your self-imposed grinding and stop complaining or stop telling yourself that you NEED all that stuff, and have fun doing something else.

We don’t run a set group. Sometimes there is a guard there and sometimes there isn’t. There was no guard in the fight I’m talking about, but a guard can’t keep 100% uptime on stability anyway and you will eventually get caught in an interrupt chain since the interrupts are on low cooldowns.

I can survive with multiple people on me, but in order to do so I have to use abilities.

The only ridiculously short CD is earthshaker’s one, #4 and 5# have 20 and 30 secs CD, so they aren’t actually spammable.

Last time I died to confusion was when I was fighting a group with a perplexity hammer warrior.

All you needed was stability to negate the CC of that hammer warrior (and the confusion).
I bet you are used to always get focused first (knowing you play necro), but if you got stunlocked while others were focusing you it’s reasonable that you died.

And as a condi mesmer with perplexity runes, I don’t feel OP against a dire necro.

My only concern is the x6, give that an internal cooldown of 10-15s, so hammer warriors and p/d thieves aren’t better confusion dealers than mesmers and engies.

I’m actually excited. It looks incredibly beautiful and to be honest MOST people don’t care about PPT in WvW anyways, all they care about is champ boxes and achivements (not even wxp).

Also, maybe adding a buff like stability that you can cap/comune with or something like that?
Considering how easy it would be to knock/fear players off the edges, and that not every class has a lot of access to stability/stun breakers, and that safe fall traits won’t help, I think falling shouldn’t be “very punishing”.

And last question, will we be able to right click on someone in our party and “Join in overflow”? And if so, will we be able to choose teams? It would be awesome to be able to play with/against friends from our server and other servers too.

That’s not elitism. Elitism is telling other people to take a certain class, get a proper zerker set (ascended stuff, runes, sigils, etc) and play the way they want. Or like the OP, even kicking people for their amount of achievement points.

When I read a post like “LFM guard/warr only, melee lupi”, instead of getting mad and calling them elitists on the forum I just look for a different party.
And when I read a post like “LFM lvl +35 any class welcome we are killing everything” I don’t join to tell them to L2P and ragequit, I just look for a different party.

Bottom line, if people post looking for something specific and you don’t fill the reqs and still join, it’s your problem. Wanting them not to be able to see your pvt gear or whatever so they don’t kick you is just selfish.

If you add an evade on swoop then I’d expect it to receive the same treatment as RTL. Else most rangers will keep weilding their greatswords only to get away from a fight, but with much higher effectiveness.

To the OP, that sounds like the kind of experinces I have when for whatever reason I run scales 1,2,3.
Make sure you tell people at the beginning that each scale consits in 3 fractals (or 4 for even scales). And get a party of lvls 80. Also, enter FotM first, that way you’ll be the instance owner and if anyone decides to leave just post a LFG asking for more.

Besides that, just give it some time, it can be tedious at first because there are a kittenton of new players around, but once you hit scale 10 you won’t find as many clueless players.

I’m tired of people not saying anything and then switching to a lowbie when the boss is not even 50% hp.
It’s like they are so afraid that people won’t hold the cutscene that they end up leeching the group.
If you are so afraid that PuGs won’t help you out, then go get a freaking guild.

3rd Ranger, human female (clone of previews 2 rangers) ex main: WvW/PvP focused. Purely leveled inside the Crown Pavillion.

Mesmer (main) human female: Leveled her as a PvE toon and then became my WvW fav. Fractals lvl 30+, guild missions, dungeons and everything that requires some map completition.

Thief, human male: Leveled him as an attempt to have more WvW options, but haven’t really been able to practice with him and get any better.

Warrior, norn female: Just using her in WvW to jump in the hammerwaggon. Purely leveled inside the Labyrith. Proudly hit lvl 80 with 1% map completition.

All of them have ascended trinkets. No ascended weapons on any, and it’ll probably never happen.

Oh and forgot my lvl 8 female norn guardian, who carries all my stacks of bloodstone dust and empyrial fragments I’ll never use.

So I bought my first P2 run the other day, I was just looking to run P3 or 4 and saw a LFG offering P2 at 4 (yes, four) gold, and I thought kitten that’s pretty nice.

What he meant is that if they don’t introduce a way to get the weapon you want, something like buying them with relics or changing two for the one you want, and considering the extremely low chances you have to get the one you want, then fractal weapons should be ascended instead of exotic (and have ascended stats → meaning no transmutation needed).

I for one think they should allow us to buy the skin for 10-20 pristine relics or something like that.

Back in the time when I used to camp them they were the only way to get Soldier trinkets, so it was pretty entertaining.

I did all 4 jps yesterday hoping to find griefers, and nope, nothing.
And the few enemies there were jumping with the JQ guys with no problem. You people lied to me.

I used to camp the jp’s but it got old pretty fast.
Maybe I’ll come back and see if I can find some PvErs farmers. I’ll make sure to be wearing my Dungeon Master title.

If it is some kind of exploit I would suggest sending the details to ArenaNet.

Last I knew, there was a third party program that made it impossible for you to even damage them while they were in downed state. It is indeed a bug.

I use the wonderful downed state skill vengeance, but it isn’t good for anything else.

this sound like BS but today me and other guy downed a ranger and we stomped on him like 5-6 times and nothing happen, we also damage him and nothing either, lol he just just revived and used GS #3 i was like wtf, let give it the benefit of the doubt and say it was lag but if things like this are happening that is not fair. The ranger was from blackgate which i heard have lot of hackers and cheaters so i think that explain a lot

Actually, no. That’s happened to me a few times playing my ranger. Having a bunch of enemies trying to stomp me several times and nothing happening, while my pet kept ressing me.
And I’ve been on the other side too, trying to stability/distortion stomp someone and not being able to get it.

Back on topic, I’ve had a lot of people (and not just thieves) dissappearing before going down or getting stomped and giving no exp/loot.

I guess some people would preffer if party members couldn’t even see your level, AP points, or you skins to have an idea of your stats, or that you are even wearing exotics.

I really don’t get the point there. Only people who would actually kick you for not having the right gear (zerker gear, that’s it) are the ones who posted looking for speed runs, and if you joined one of those wearing green trinkets or rabbid gear, well that’s your problem, not theirs.

That would allow us to change characters when we are in WvW, not having to wait another 2 hours to get back in. ALSO being able to play something else while waiting on any char, leveling, farming champs or whatever, then being able to get in WvW, and change characters.

I think it would be best if the queue pop’d as soon as we go to character select screen. It gives around a minute, so even people with a slow pc would be able to select a new character and load the map to hit “travel”.

If someone wanna run dungeons with a full zerker party then they should have the right to do it. That sounds more fair to me that someone using PVT joining speed clear parties.

I don’t get why someone would have a problem with it. It’s not like magically people not interested in speed runs and having full zerker parties would start kicking people for having some knight’s pieces or something.

I really don’t believe in builds “good for nearly any situation”; specially not condi ones.
I wouldn’t go anything other than zerker for PvE in pretty much all situations (let alone using PVT for Tequatl, lol)
That said, condi BM ranger is pretty nice for solo roaming, that and PvP (with shaman’s amulet) worked nice for me.

But in the end, none of this matters as long as you are enjoying the game playing the way you like.

I can’t see your build (tried to copypaste the link and all). But by reading your post I’ve a few thoughts about it.

First, going for traps + BM leaves you with not enough points for WS, and Empathic Bond. That wouldn’t be a problem if you usually run with, let’s say a guardian cleaning your condis, or if you somehow manage to stand on Healing Spring during fights (which I don’t), but if not, and considering the current condi meta, not having condi removal is not a real option imo.

Second, if you build for condi dmg, then you shouldn’t be worrying about lack of power. And since condi dmg only benefits from condi duration, which you can get easily from food/runes, it gives you the option to focus on other important stats such as toughness and healing.

So I’d choose a mix of rabbid and apothecary over dire or carrion.

What are your weapon sets btw? Well, till I can see your build I can’t really say anything more ^^
