( Points only mean something if you want them to mean something. TC got utterly smashed last week and we still tried pretty hard to take what we could when we could. SoR was brutal, a lot more “brutal” than we are. )

Yes, TC has been getting a lot of off peak transfers it seems. The whole (transfer) thing started about a month ago. I am not sure if I am a fan of people just coming for WvW when you have “GOKUPWNSYUO” kittening up /team chat.

To TC, please as your guilds get more organized, don’t forget /team. It is how the vast majority of our server operates and if you neglect it, keeps will fall without so much as a peep!

From a totally personal observation, I could have sworn TC operated better when there was no commander icon on the BL maps last night. Maybe I am just imagining things…

Organize your server if you want to win WvW. Snowballing exists because arenanet wants clear cut winners. It would suck if you fought for 7 days and felt like you didn’t actually achieve anything. I’ve been on a losing server for months and were finally winning match ups, and it isn’t because server transfers gained us anything, it’s because we organized to the point where we can win.

This is complete bull-kitten. Tactics and playing organized will mean very little if you do not have population to back it up. The top servers all have queues at many parts of the day. This is hardly a coincidence. The lowest ranked servers in WvW hardly ever have a wait time, this is also, hardly a coincidence.

It is great that you guys are playing together in a more structured manner and yes it does allow you to “punch above your server’s weight class” but in the long run if you don’t have bodies it gets harder and harder to play. More so if the other team has double your numbers at all times of night and day!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for elevating the mood in this thread.

And to the fearful Dreadlord Silver, you’ve almost convinced me to peel myself away from the Borderlands and see what your crew is like in that Eternal Battleground of yours.

Orb buffs are gamebreakingly op when you have a matchup that is already this unbalanced. TC and ET will not see an orb this week.

I am not so sure “Tier 3” means much at this point. It only seems like the top two tiers mean something, and that only lasts until people get sick of waiting in lines and hop to other servers to start the whole process again.

Interesting but sometimes imbalances make the game-mode more fun. I don’t think WvW should ever be “fair” and it has been a major motivator for me to get the perfect Superior runes, save up money and get epic gear. Without these incentives, I am not sure I would enjoy WvW as much.

Sometimes its fun to fight that warrior that just makes you go “Oh Kitten, run!” And on an equal playing field, that would never happen. Seriously, anon Warrior, you scared me as a Mesmer, and that takes some doing!

Sounds like a rumor to me.

And yes, the free transfer silliness will stop, someday. Hopefully. With any luck. groan

I am selective on the commanders I will follow, and that is only if I am in the mood for zerging around!

If you don’t have the numbers for an assault or defense, you can always make a case for needing bodies in /team for your objective.

I find that usually reason wins out but it might take a little longer with 2-4 blue chips on the field.

As always, be patient in WvW and you will be rewarded!

Sleepy Eur, we had another commander come on who led an offensive on the bay and that split FA’s assault. While waiting for the main FA force (that never came to hit AH Keep) we took back Stargrove. And of course, since I don’t give up, we went back to the water gate, ninja’ed down the first layer and had our main zerg back us up for the second door.

To the FA member who poured oil on us, you really caught us with our pants down, I can only thank the stars themselves that we didn’t get rushed full force right after that because we most likely would have wiped. I think we all were a little caught up in the rush.; . We took the garrison and swept the BL green again after that.

I think building up AH keep was boring, but it was the right move at the time. There was a window where we had something like 15 or so people on the entire FA BL. Sometimes the right move can be boring! Zzz…

FA and DB it has been fun this week, and may the server transfers be forever in your favor!

Arena net can’t even ban regular bots so I didn’t bother reporting them. Most of them reset moments after they died.

Those orb bonuses must really help these bots! Also the price of krait droppings has devalued drastically. (Click 1-month range http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/24289 ) Now farming the lake and protecting pearls have even less incentive! Way to go!!!

Running into a keep’s lord room unopposed = A big problem. You can always save up your keys is my understanding so the puzzle isn’t broken, but the rewards for it are temporarily inaccessible.

@Kyias.1845 TC didn’t have queue times but once in a blue moon for the entire week except for on Friday. Population matters, and not just the people you see from upgraded walls in the Borderlands.

TC recruits roleplayers first. Sure we could look for more people but that just not what our server is all about. That is our difference.

Well, I learned how to /emote from Blackgate this week, as in how to not look like a misbehaved kitten on the battlefield. And to think that I thought TC really had the emote thing down… I guess not! I can’t say your 24 primetime will be missed either.

And Fort Aspenwood, it will be fun to see more of you next week, and hopefully not with 3 orbs! I am sure you share that feeling.

Whatever you do, do not pick a tier 1 or tier 2 server unless your playtime is in “off peak” hours for that server.

The #1-#6 servers are flooded with band-wagoners that put the wait times to get into WvW into the 1+ hours range very consistently. Join a server somewhere in the #16-#7 range and you should be pretty happy. Here is last weeks rankings in case you missed them.

Oh and if you love RP, the Tarnished Coast is the unofficial RP server and full of nice people.

It’s not the score that is discouraging me from playing WvW, its the orbs. Taking one away from you guys was like ~a whole new world~

Man, when I got on last night (TC) the only map where we even had anything, Eternal Battlegrounds, had a long queue. … It was awfully boring…

You missed all the fun last night on the Blackgate Borderlands!

TC took an orb from a fully upgraded keep in the Bay, the Hills keep earlier in the day and two to three towers that someone told me “was impossible [to take].”

We fought huge back and forth battles for hours, sieged for hours, shattered walls , burned seige, bashed in gates and rallied from failed major offensives at least three times during the night. In the end the orb was ours, at least for a little bit!

The fights between the “Bay Worm Gate” and Faithleap were out of this world and the counter sieging the Garrison trebs hitting the Bay was insanely nerve wrecking. This all happened around 7:00pm to Midnight PST. The BG Borderlands even had a (short) queue for TC which was pretty great.

I even got to lead a small team to hit water gate at the Garrison. The team of twenty or so that showed up had me laughing so hard. All in all, I had a blast!

Xeeron.9254 made some wonderful points and backed them up with clearly expressed reasoning. I hope Arena Net is paying attention as closely as Xeeron.9254 has been.

At the very least I feel that free transfers and orb bonuses should be addressed ASAP and then work on other issues that are more of a fine tuning process.

Experiences with orbs

This has been my experience as well. I’ve been on both sides of this coin and either way it cheapens the WvW experience. If you stomp five people at once, its not because you’ve suddenly seen the matrix, its the orbs. If you’re getting stomped, it most likely not because you stink and they rock, check and see how many orbs they have.

Arena Net themselves said that food provides some of the best buffs and the game, and they are right! The problem is, having three orbs is like a free food bonus for everyone that could potentally be on top of another food bonus! To make matters worse, many casual people don’t use food so if a three orb person with food is attacking a “food-less” defender the stats spread is extreme.

Food works because everyone has the option to use it. It isn’t “locked out” because of a server mismatch or anything else and it is reasonably priced at the moment.

TL;DR Transfers need to be adjusted, orbs bad, food good.

Tonight was, bar none, the best WvW experience I’ve personally had to date. I will post more words but great fights with BG.

I only managed to take one semi decent photo with all the fighting and fun but I think it really captures the night.

Evenyone gets overwhelmed playing too much WvW. Herding kittens (not KITTEN) is hard work. I am sure people being angry will vanish soon enough.

You can also do some /team PvP and make sure we keep positive! Anger and lamentation keeps me away from WvW.

While I am a little let down that things won’t be a close race this match up, I do look forward to sharpening our skills against a vastly stronger World. Being out-numbered and out spent can be a little daunting, but it just prompts better ideas to overcome the deficit of power.

This match has me looking for solid commanders and finding the people that really know how to work together (or at least, work with me! I am a huge pain in the KITTEN after all!) If it was an easy win I can’t say I would be looking for new ways to stay competitive.

When I have people’s attention, I will be directing TC troops to hit Blackgate forces 80% of the time. I am sure TC doesn’t want to make this a “stomp on Fort Aspenwood” match, that isn’t fun for -ANYONE-, BG, TC and esspecially, FA.
