We’ve been asking for a real commander and squad system for more than a year. Many other issues you see people complaining about have also been around for months.
It took them three months to fix an exploit that allowed one team to simply walk into the borderlands Hills keep.
People are fed up. We tried the honey, its time for tar.
Until anet figures out that WvW truely is the bread and butter of this game, it will continue to die

Also GW2 was responsible for 20%-40% of NCsofts earnings. [Source below] The same earnings being used to fund Wildstar development and other projects in the the pipeline. The majority of your gem store purchases do not help Anet, they fund future project which will receive the same “smash and grab” treatment GW2 has received. Why? Because like it or not Nexon is at the helm.
The manifesto didn’t lie. Anet was literally sold out and they had to change their goals for GW2 post launch (ascended gear, time gated grinds etc).

They are removing the Borderlands lake and adding something else. Maybe orb related.
They might bring orbs back before the end of Sept.

If Devon can point to an entire forum that is upset over WvW changes then he can at least say “Hey, people are upset, I need more people working on my team.” to his bosses.
Guess why the last round of answers finally happened? Yeah, squeaky wheel gets the grease and WvW needs a lot of grease.
Get angry, be constructive. Demand something happens or nothing will happen. I think that has pretty much been proven by now.

They added nothing else to WvW other than a pile of broken Treb traits. There is literally nothing else to talk about for another 2 weeks.
That is actually, genuinely, hard to do. Way harder than a commander system worth an Asura fart.

I have partial color blindness, and my issue is with the red/green combination , not the blue. It has led me to some pretty funny situations, like where SM was just captured and I tried exiting through the portal while being chased.
It was probably hilarious to the people chasing me though. :P

Nah, we don’t. Treb mastery is going to slowly turn into a mess 1-2 months down the line but right now most people don’t have the WxP levels to really prove that treb mastery is at kittened as it looks.

I am sure this was to help colour blind people.. if you were colour blind i am sure you would be happy. Live with it guys
That was the only thing I could think of.
They could have given each team a unique shape ( Circle, Square, Triangle ) and kept the old colors AND made the map more readable at a glance but…. NOPE.
We now have Eyestrain Red, Retina Ripper Green and Deadly Blue.

If you think Out of Attunement needs to l2p, you are definitely mistaken… confusion is very strong right now, especially considering how easy it is to massively stack a person up.
If you think I wasn’t being facetious then your sarcasm meter is way out of alignment.
Perplex runes are pretty op, take a unique class feature and give it to everyone and basically cheapen Mesmers.

The problem is that it’s effectively a never-ending character progression. At the rate they’re currently releasing masteries, nobody is ever going to complete them all (at least, nobody with any life outside GW2). ….

I guess it is funny that a ranged build isn’t very good on a ranger. Honestly, you would get a better response in the class specific forums.
No queue? Go nuts. Queue? Consider moving maps. That is about how I feel about GvG other than its a real shame this game is called guild wars and we the players have to shoehorn in good guild vs guild fights.

I would not propose an unlimited Treb autofire, but more of a limited autofire. So you set a treb to say 70% and press “5” to autofire the next 3 shots. This way players are not totally keyboard bound holding down “2” all the time. It allows the treb’ing player to give better info or at the very least chat with their guild.
Right now trebbing is like this “2………………………………………….” so what I was “2……………………………………….” thinking, was that you and “2………………………………….” Tom need to “2………………………………..”

Yeah I would be happy if it autofired 10 times then needed to be pressed again even. Just something to remove the pain of holding down 2.

Believe me, WvW is important to us as a company and we will continue to improve on it.
Please, put your money where your mouth is. We’re just not seeing it, and every reset night we have fewer and fewer people to run with and against.
But haven’t you heard? WvW has “more players than ever!” If I wasn’t on a “top 5” server I would think they might be on the T1 or T2 servers, but I am on TC, so even that lie doesn’t really hold water. WvW matches are ghost-towns by monday on blowout matches.
Each reset there is less and less excitement. I selfishly hope whatever it is they’ve been working on refreshes everyone’s interest but I just have the worst feeling.

Imaginary WvW Patch Notes:- A New Commander Tags system! Private tags! Colors, oh my!
- A New visual tags option have been added to the graphics tab.
- Party UI fix: players now have the proper party management options in WvW. Kick DC’ed players!
- Players can now respec their WxP ranks every three months. New characters start out with one respec available. Players can only ever have one respec in “reserve” at any one time.
- Downed Players can rally -once- every minute.
- Dead Players will be automatically release to their respective team spawns after 3 minutes.
- Players can only be ressurect other players in WvW if they are out of combat.
- Adjusted loot tables for player kills. WvW Rank chests always contain 1 yellow as well as another random piece of loot. Ascended and Precursor loot have been slightly tweaked to be more favorable.
- A new team specific debuff has been added to WvW. Muddy Terrain: If more than 25 players are in an area of 2000 units, those affected players receive a 33% speed debuff. Debuff lasts for 30s. It cannot be removed. Players must spread out to not continuously acquire this debuff.
- Some NPC monsters have been reduced in number. Less polar bears will maul your behind on your way to Hills Keep.
- All the Keeps and Towers have received a texturing overhaul! Say goodbye to terrible UV mapping and hello to nice pretty textures. Because you’re worth it! Floating banner posts near sentries have been adjusted to look better.
- All Keeps and Towers have several new weak points that players can siege! New defensive siege points have been added to help protect these new more vulnerable walls.
- Several annoying invulnerable spots near team specific borders have been tweaked.
- Crafting Tables, Centaurs, Skritt, Spiders and Quaggan areas have been removed from the map.
- The Borderlands Jumping Puzzle has been moved to the Obsidian Sanctum.
- Obsidian Sanctum now has its own WvW Tab. Join directly from the WvW menu.
- Player Spawn Zones have been drastically reduced and tower positions have been adjusted. Several new siege points have been added to Bay Keep and Hills Keep to accommodate this change and still allow the types of sieges players have enjoyed in the past.
- The new Lowlands Garrison has taken place of the lake. The map has been slightly adjusted to accommodate this structure. Borderlands overall PPT potential has been adjusted to reflect this change.
- New WvW Specific Siege skins have been added to the Gem Store! These skins are 600 gems each and players can apply them via the new WvW styles tab found in their wallet next to the Finisher Tab. These skins are unlimited use.
- New WvW Tower and Keep themes have been added to the Gem Store! Dire Theme, Celestial Theme, Deep Woods Theme, Magma Theme, Stockade Theme, as well as many others. These themes last 72 hours and cost 800 gems. These themes can be applied to two structures at a time.
- Keeps, Towers and Camps can only be claimed by a guild if that guild has an active buff.
- Keep and Tower banners are more prominent. Players can click on the banners to see which guild has claimed the structure.

Wait 3-5 weeks, if you change team colors grab your POIs. Pop into wvw on your server’s better times and grab POIs for towers your server has claimed.
Or try and do it all at once and drag your guild into WvW to help you capture towers.

…The first step is the liquid WXP that is being added to the rank up chests which is account-bound. We are planning additional systems as well. Hopefully, as we continue to announce some of those changes, you will be happier with the system.

How many Ascended items can you get in a month, running dungeons?

If you do not have the badges aleady,
Collecting the needed badges is slower than playing PvE and buying the items outright off of the Trading Post. My rough estimate is anywhere from 2x-10x slower (depending on which server you play on badges are more scarce.)
The dependency in time spent is what I take issue with.

What disadvantage are you experiencing these days if you play only WvW?
Less potential income. Less options.
SPvP has these disadvantages too, however it makes up for its no income state by allowing anyone access to the same weapons/armor at any time.
If I want to change sets of armor/weapons in a timely manner so I can play competitively and have a wider range of experiences in WvW my best bet is something like this 1) Gem Store (gems to gold) 2) PvE 3) Everything else.
I guess it is a moot point complaining about WvW drops or items. Players don’t feel inherently ripped off when they dip out into PvE-land and get showered in loot. Nope.

Why would you play WvW for the items game? It’s not designed for that.
Before siege blueprints could be sold on the trading post, as a commander, I had to buy gems to fun siege/repairs/upgrades. The WvW income was simply too little to keep up with these demands.
Also money = PVP options. For a WvW player, it was very hard to afford new sets of armor and weapons before the badge vendor was implemented.
WvW loot/rewards (with the exception of karma) is terrible compared to PvE. Loot is an incentive for players to play an MMO game. If one area of the game has sub-par loot, less players will play that portion of the game. That part of the “ecosystem that is interdependent” suffers.

PvE’ers get badges for their legendary weapons from achievement chests. Oh PvE’ers get more achievement points than a WvW focused player could ever dream of acquiring.
Just the facts.
The sad thing, Anet is sitting on a goldmine. WvW’s foundation is perfect, its just lacking pretty much everything that could be built upon it. I think the thing that upsets me the most is seeing what WvW could be, but isnt, and likely will never be. All because the people with the money seem to think they know what gamers want, better than the gamers themselves.
