ANET: NO – go buy more Black Lion Keys.
Players: …
Tick tock anet. Time to stop abusing your existing playerbase…
Purchased Kerbal Space Program. I am soo excited for WvW.
You guys blow out T2 though, it makes no sense for you guys to be down there.
It only takes a few over-ambitious types to ruin a lot of people’s fun. I guess at least they are having fun.

Super boring guild appendage discussion!
1 point into Build Master
1 point into Repair Master
The rest as your character sees fit. If your build is an extremely low HP build, you might consider the climb up Mt. Applied Fortitude.
I bet you 800 gems that the developer that coded the commander and squad system has left Anet and didn’t bother to properly comment their code so now Anet has no clue how to “fix” the commander system.
Just like the eve billboards…
When your friend greets you with ‘sup?’ you reply ‘10’
Super nerdy. I love it.
Usually those sorts of fights span 30+ minutes so yes, the lord does drop loot each time.
Maybe between two forums we will get a response!
edit: I made a more up to date post here including some ideas for functionality
(edited by Urrid.4593)
Maybe today is the day!!! Do you think?
Today is the day a dev responds /sighs dreamily
Some cute little TC that didnt kill me
<3
That’s my guild!
Doggington, Otto, Voj###. I’d recognize those ears anywhere!
Well 12 hours ago didn’t work, lets try right now…
It’s random. Welcome to WvW, the forgotten part of GW2.
Correct.
Oh my gosh a Developer was looking at the forum today! Do, do you think they will notice this thread? /blush
Jadon / Nightlight slashfic in /team.
Oh hey imagine this in the patch notes! >.>
Up to the top!
Don’t start panicking until we actually know the item could break stuff. Arenanet isn’t stupid, and I’m sure they’ve thought about this.
Well… historically…
Anet gives very little thought to what their additions do to WvW. Hell, I used to be able to crash entire maps with the Mariner’s Horn.
WvW is GW2’s 2nd class citizen.
I’m overjoyed that I will be able to get my rapier. (I wvw a ton) but also really upset I opened 25 BLCs. Very upset. I have 9 scraps.

It was fun TC!
Theon has it.
You should have 10 supply, say a zerg is on the outer areas if a keep drop a trap 5’ from the gate or, if they are already on the gate, sneak up behind them and pop a trap. This might not limit their siege options they’ve already built, but it will limit inner attacks. If you’re quick or sneaky get back inside raid 10 supply from the keep and repeat. Congrats! You’ve successfully reduced the commander’s inner siege options to about 1/3rd to nearly zero.
I held a T2 bay for hours with only 15 defenders vs 40-50 hostiles doing just this tactic. They kept resupplying over and over and I kept popping traps on them. Eventually they left to hit a “softer” target. I guess they didn’t want to auto-attack a T2 gate down.
It isn’t as easy as following a tag but it is insanely powerful. To do it properly you need support or a death wish.
Good luck.

A wonderful suggestion with great mock ups pictures that will be soundly ignored by Anet and slowly turn your heart black and bitter.
Good work!
Nice hold of your Garrison last night (Oceanic) Tarnished Coast.
We wiped you and you wiped us fair and square a good few times!
Hope you had as much fun as we did
I did have a lot of fun! I had to call for help, the 20 TC on the map weren’t going to cut it. Good thing I got a speedy response and we both could have that fight!
Unless it was another fun fight I missed while I was sleeping.
Stupid sleep/work.
If you have two or three people placing supply traps it SEVERELY limits an offensive zerg siege options.
Basically they are OP but not many people understand this and use them.
Give large groups of players a speed de-buff. Zergs as they are right now are one of the fastest groups in the game. They should be exactly the opposite!
Want to run in a huge herd? You’re going to be slowed down. The AOE that checks for a “zerg” for each team of players could be done every 15 seconds and apply a flat 30% speed de-buff that you cannot clear for 15s. Then the check happens again, still near the large group of friendly players? Speed de-buff. Call it “rough terrain” or something.
This would allow small parties of hostile players to out run a large zerg and harass effectively in open field. Also the ideal way to cross a map wouldn’t be in a huge herd. Even if the group was spamming speed buffs to counter the 30% debuff they would only be as fast as your average Mesmer.
Do this and give people better commander tag options = poof zerg problem solved.

I don’t see a way more flexible or simple than a four digit passcode. Can you think of anything that offers as much flexibility?
Remember – people guild switch all the time, you would have to take this sort of thing into consideration, and that is why I would opt for a pass-code. Use the infrastructure that exists through communicating in chat channels, determine the group composition that way. Commander “Hey my code is 4321! Come fight with me!” etc. Don’t enforce an artificial limit like “guild” or “party”. Both guild and party are terribly under-supported in terms of features as it stands.

Plus it feels more like it’s name should be changed from Guild Wars to Guild Festival or Guild Dress Up now. I thought I was playing an awesome game where all hell was breaking loose and we were saving the world from ancient and powerful dragons. Instead everyone is partying like it’s 1999 and running around with all these horrible party favors.
I love Guild Dress Up thank you very much!
Also: lol!!!
Yup, it is important.
We had a SEA player on TC unable to play last night, again, the same horrible lag.
There is a bug report forum.
My work comp has a site blocker that keeps me from checking the live score thinger.
Can someone post the current score?
Sanctum of Rall 30,945
Blackgate 27,890
Tarnished Coast 26,596
Work, work never ends…
I cannot wait to get home so I can play!
It is a good idea but implementation would be hard. I suppose you could count credit as being “x amount of people killed guards/ram’ed gates/cata’ed/trebbed wall in the past Y minutes” but something like this would be pretty hard to nail down and then communicate to the playerbase.
As it is Anet has issues communicating how to get credit for regular captures of towers and keeps as it stands.
PUG = Pick up Group.
A group player not selected on any skill criteria. A volunteer. It doesn’t mean they are unskilled or a non-major-guild-player or a newb or any of those things.
It just means anybody having a bit of fun.Used as a term of insult by elitist snobs who probably haven’t a clue what they’re doing but like to pretend they’re better than anyone else.
All my +1’s.
I am a militia commander, and while I am not as consistently as effective as a big guild push, I can command consistently whenever I want, with or without my guild.
Well I am still a pug and I lead my guild. >.>
You should check out this Commander guide:
Here is a small part of it:
Commander JadonWhy Become A Commander?
Alright so, let’s say you want to be a commander, or you already have a tag, great! Now, the big question you want to ask yourself, is why do I wish to become a commander? As WvW stands currently, commanders are what makes it all click and work. Without commanders, WvW would fall into a general mess of chaos and suffering that no one would really want to be apart of. Now, it IS possible to roam WvW and direct/command in WvW without an icon, but generally speaking you won’t be commanding without one. Now, let’s say you are trying to decide… here are some questions that will help you make the final choice to commit to becoming a commander:
-Do you wish to give extensive time and effort to help your server, continuously?
-Do you not mind being placed in the spotlight with the possibility to face heavy criticism or stress?
-Do you love WvW and feel you understand it decently?
-Do you feel you are able to work well with others and control your own emotions more often than not?
-Do you have the willingness to become a possibly figurehead for your server and promote the health of the community? For the most part, for your enjoyment and for the benefit of the server, all of these questions must be answered YES or at least the majority need to be if you wish to become a commander. If not, you should probably stop yourself right there, not buy the tag, and save it for your shiny legendary or something, otherwise please continue reading!
Enjoy!
Up to the top with you! I am going for viability here. Someone, someday, might get it.
Yes! This would promote a more efficient use of squads instead of everybody piling into one zerg.
Exactly this.
Randomized match ups have effectively killed many hardcore player’s interest in WvW. I don’t know how this is a “good thing.”
More and more casual and hardcore players are fleeing to the top NA servers (zergs and lag woo!) and again, I don’t see how this is a good thing.
Anet, you should want to generate interest for your game, not actively destroy it through inaction.
This thread is a call to action. Which, unsurprisingly, you’ve taken for baseless moaning. While ESO is most likely going to be a joke of a game, don’t be shocked when plenty of players leave and don’t come back.
I will still be here, wishing you guys had someone able to grow your WvW communities, not actively destroy them.

knock knock. Its called quality of life anet.
No Rapier.
Instead we get strange funky stuff and apparently its not easy to get AT ALL.
I opened 15 black lion chests and got 6 scraps. That’s it. Common my behind.
Yup we all still desperately want this…
Answer: How fast can you flip a camp solo on a thief?
That is why I roam solo on a Mesmer.
What server do you WvW on? Genuinely curious.
Yeah, I would love to play WvW with 20 identical hammer warriors smashing the front of the zerg. Then we would counter with 10 Guardians, and the hammer warriors would vanish and turn into Necro’s stripping boons
And so on and so on…
You are neglecting to also understand that a servers gradually shifting meta gives matches their strengths and weaknesses and ultimately a servers flavor. If everyone could gear for the Flavor of the Day / Commander, WvW would just turn into a huge painful version of rock paper scissors.
As other people have said, only certain builds are possible in PvE/WvW and taking away those builds for the sake of “ease of access” is laughable.
Here is my version of what is essentially the same request:
Anet – please give us the ability to choose the color of our commander tag and the ability to make these tags public or private!
For colors we really wouldn’t need more than 16 colors to choose from but make the default blue tag clickable. Clicking the default blue tag when making a squad should pop up something very much like the dye palette menu. Pick your color and go!
To make a tag public or private just give the commanders a simple four digit passcode prompt that they can define by checking a box and putting in a four digit code.
Examples:
Putting up a private tag:
Create Squad —-> Check private check-box —-> Fill out four digit code “1234” etc. —-> dispensnce info to guild/map/party as needed.
Joining a private tag:
Joining a Private Commander —-> “This commander is set to private, please enter password” —-> PW: 1234 —-> Successfully joined commander’s private group!
If the commander wants to switch passcodes, they just have to drop tag and recreate their squad effectively “booting” its current members.
Changing commander tag colors:
Create Squad —-> Click default blue chip —-> Select new color from a simple palette.
Anet, if you do this, you will see a massive renaissance in how WvW is played that de-emphasizes massive zergs and encourages new, exciting, play.
Anet needs to make money off of casuals and Larpers like this poster.
Hahaha, I am a casual.
Nice insults.
I would murder your most precious pet if this ever happened. I would blame YOU.
The sole reason I do not play sPvP is because of how its gear system works. No I don’t want to unlock how I look again, thanks, I’ve already spent over $50 on transmutation stones alone.
Yes please, also feel free to bump my thread as well.
Selfish? maybe.
Maybe no one bothers to explain stuff on FA. Hah.
If anyone ever asks “why” in map chat, and I am not Commanding, I will take 5-10 minutes to explain supply/siege/upgrades and their roles in WvW.
Two birds with one stone.
As a siege vending machine, I would approve of this soo much.
