You really need to get off your elitist horse and meet people halfway
1) Take supply from camps – OK 95% of the time! Go crazy!
2) Don’t take Supply from Towers or Keeps unless a commander says it is okay.
In the case of this thread, don’t have a Spy/Alt take ALL of a Keep or Tower’s supply before your home server’s zerg comes to attack an objective.
Anet doesn’t care about WvW’ers quality of life. Mif you’re cute though, you can take solace in that.
had a pretty fun time in TCBL for awhile. Although I don’t understand why some of the TC there had to get so obnoxious.
I will tell you when I get home.

The problem with thieves is that you’re “fighting” something you cannot see or target for more than 50% of the fight. If I could de-buff stealth I wouldn’t have an issue with it.
It is truly annoying.
It just blows my mind that this isn’t already a thing. Sure they might be “working on something” more elegant than this, but I don’t see how implementing a system so simple would hurt in the mean time.
Interesting. The hardcore types on TC are less and less by the day but queue times are up…
So it really might be a 1 hour a day crew making up for the loss of the 10 hour a day people. Of course, the 10 hour players are make the game much more interesting. Right now the game seems to boiling down into some grey sludge that I don’t have the “taste” for.
You Bet’cha! /cry
The Ballad of Jayne
Jayne, the man they call Jayne
He capp’ed from the zerg
And he repaired the doors
Stood up to the zerg
And gave them what for
Our love for him now
Ain’t hard to explain

Buffing an NPC will not give more meaning to defeating the NPC. For an example see Capt. Kitty Siegeraiser, the breakout NPC in WvW. He is nothing but a bag of HP that smart servers leave ineffectively beating on a tower gate to prevent further breakouts. Killing him ONCE is interesting. Any time after that is a pain in the kitten.
Making NPCs in a WvW map “harder to kill” like Siegeraiser or parish the thought, The GRUB, do not give challenge to players.
What it would do is give defending players more time to get to an objective or form up a counter zerg. That is about it. It will not make players feel more accomplished.
If you want to make a Tower/Keep capture more meaningful approach it from the perspective of giving players better tools to play such as commander tag options.
This will encourage players to defend their map assets and by proxy give back some meaning to “flippping” a tower or keep.
Even more zerging and now mob HP Bags. I absolutely cannot wait for this bold new vision.
A lack of Budget and Time.
Also Nexon/NCsoft/Anet doesn’t see WvW as a huge money maker.
Wow. Way to encourage more stacking of super stacked servers. Way to encourage blobbing in WvW. Unless Anet realizes this and only rewards based on whether how “outnumbered” the opponents are, this Champion thing is only going to make people do more “stacking” as commanders in maps usually ask for. Most commanders in WvW asks to stack so Anet is now encouraging “stacking”. LOL.
THIS.
Anet, you’re killing your game. Reward mindless zerging and lack of tactical play more. Time to organize some Tower/Keep trading! Or wait, I don’t even have to do that, your system of rewards encourages it automatically with how WxP works! Hum, way to throw more fuel on to the fire.
I wonder what WvW will look like in six months.
Can’t wait to get all these great rewards! Way to go anet!!!
Oh my god a Dev was looking at this forum recently! Do you think they will notice this thread?
IF this many people showed for a T1 match and not a T2-T3-T4 score-stomp (not skill stomp, score stomp) then we might actually give a T1 server a run for its money. We would lose, but it would not be by 100-150k…
TC as it stands today has a lot of work to do. Old TC might have ran on sleep deprived NA’ers but at least we knew one another and played some pretty tight defense.
I am just waiting for at least one T1 in one of our future. :\
currently leveling her Ele.
Just because someone is enjoying their EU server mumble mumble mumble… :x
Omega Golem + Kite = The only thing I did in WvW this week.

+1 to this thread.
Funny this is this matchup was still better than most since RNG has infected WvW and destroyed so much interest.
As a non pvper I kinda wish there was some way of selling these or turning them in for gold.
Turn in badges for siege blueprints, sell siege blueprints on the trading post. I believe rams and arrowcarts are your best badge to silver ratio.
You’re welcome! (a WvW’er who is loving all the cheap TP siege right now.)
Better tools to organize and maximize player-power projection would end the era of the Megazerg. Having three organised zergs (say 20, 20, and 60) would always be much more effective than one 100 person megazerg. The problem is Anet won’t give us the tools to do this effectively.
Give commanders color tags that can be toggled public and private and this would end. That Anet hasn’t done this already is pure nonsense.
(edited by Urrid.4593)
As a poor WvW commander that never PvE’s this is a godsend. I FINALLY have a good stockpile of siege.
edit: I need to buy more before the supply is less abundant…
(edited by Urrid.4593)
What the kitten, why won’t they address this?
Anet – please give us the ability to choose the color of our commander tag and the ability to make these tags public or private!
For colors we really wouldn’t need more than 16 colors to choose from but make the default blue tag clickable. Clicking the default blue tag when making a squad should pop up something very much like the dye palette menu. Pick your color and go!
To make a tag public or private (invisible unless you join their group) just give the commanders a simple four digit passcode prompt that they can define by checking a box and putting in a four digit code.
Examples:
Putting up a private tag:
Create Squad —-> Check private check-box —-> Fill out four digit code “1234” etc. —-> dispensnce info to guild/map/party as needed.
Joining a private tag:
Joining a Private Commander —-> “This commander is set to private, please enter password” —-> PW: 1234 —-> Successfully joined commander’s private group!
If the commander wants to switch passcodes, they just have to drop tag and recreate their squad effectively “booting” its current members.
Changing commander tag colors:
Create Squad —-> Click default blue chip —-> Select new color from a simple palette.
Anet, if you do this, you will see a massive renaissance in how WvW is played that de-emphasizes massive zergs and encourages new, exciting, play.

I posted about this tragic issue in the bugs subform. Maybe give me a bump?
I had fun being a shameless zergmander tonight. You know, after I spent way too long in PvE-land.
5 more ranks… I will be seeing you all tomorrow! <3
Sometimes a girls gotta roam in style.
We do have some great commanders on TC, I think the numbers do play a large factor though. TC is in a unique position in that we have a dual community; strong WvW support as well as a large mass of RPers. I know RPers may not necessarily be top quality WvWers …
Many RPers are the types that can stay behind and sentry (we still do this right?) because they are talking to people while they keep watch. This is a quality most “pro” WvW’ers lack so I wouldn’t ever say that RP’ers are a “mass of bodies” to throw on the problem. A lot more RP people WvW than you think.
And yes, TC does have some great commanders. Sometimes they tag up and give other maps hell. Sometimes they don’t.
With so many new faces and the changing meta from our most recent encounter with
SoR there is plenty of learning to be done on for old and new players on TC alike.
The old manner in which TC played has evolved (devolved?) and it is very interesting coming to grips with it. As far as the match RNG, welp.
SoS you’re unhappy but you’re out there every day making the match possible. Mags too gets to swag from time to time.
Have a smug salad and good fights everyone.
Further testing reveals that ALL the Sylvari culture armor de-saturates no matter what the combination with other armors. Reapplying a piece of armor brings about the proper color UNTIL the avatar travels a certain distance.
breakthrough: this problem appears to be affecting only specific AMD drivers. I am currently running ATI Catalyst revision 13.5 Beta 2 drivers. And my friend whom I invited to observe this issue is running ATI 13.4 retail drivers and the issue is not occurring.
—-The bug is shader specific. It doesn’t occur on Low, or Medium but as soon as I set the shader to High the bug occurs. —-
I will try updating my drivers to the 13.6 retail drivers… And the issue persists. Now I am trying the 13.4 drivers… No luck either.
Dropping the shader setting to Medium “resolves” the issue but kitten it! Oh yeah I am not running any control panel type program that would override GW2 settings.

Finally the armor pieces being used:
Chest: Firstborn Coat (T3 Sylvari Cultural)
Leggings/gloves/boots: Nightshade leggings/gloves/boots (T2 Sylvari Cultural)
I know this is small fry compared to other bugs but hopefully my documentation helps make smashing this bug worthwhile.
Taking off the T3 armor “resets” the other armor pieces that conflict, but oddly, you can also put the T3 sylvari chest armor back on. The proper color is displayed until I moved about 300 units.
(edited by Urrid.4593)
Removed T3 chest piece = colors reset properly then upon moving the colors de-saturate again.
(edited by Urrid.4593)
(Update: this looks like an ATI driver specific issue? https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Gfx-Dye-Sylvari-Tier-2-leg-armor-washed-out/first#post2319268 )
The tier 2 Sylvari cultural leggings dye palette is overly de-saturated in game WHEN COMBINED WITH the tier 3 Sylvari cultural chest piece. When I just map switched with the T3 chest piece off, the de-saturated effect reapplied until I put the t3 chest piece back on! There is some major conflict with the dye system between T2/T3 Sylvari armor pieces and somehow zone switching (and shadows) affects when this applies. I cannot pin point where the conflict lies due to its inconstant nature. I will keep experimenting.
Update1: I pulled off the T3 chest and put it back on with the dye “reset” to its proper color, but when I travel under projected shadow (3d tree with shadow map) the effect occurs and the de-saturated effect applies again until I pull the armor off and “reset” the colors.
After resetting the colors while in the shadow of the tree I left the “shade” and the desaturated effect reapplies. This leads me to conclude that the dye system has a conflict with shaders/shadows and the bug only manifests when combining T2 AND T3 Sylvari cultural armors.
Speculative: Perhaps this nature is due to how the glow effect is applied to Sylvari armors? This sort of behavior has not been seen by me in 2500+ hours of play time until I tried to mix and match Sylvari armors.

How do we see results?
There are a few threads about this in the bugs subforum.
This has been documented here in a matchup thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/matchups/6-21-TC-FA-KN-1/page/12#post2312047
And reposted here in the bugs forum:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/EB-Red-Keep-water-gate-exploit/first#post2312067
This bug has been happening a lot this week since the skypirates patch it seems and has already caused some hard feelings.
It is better than nothing?
I suggest making a new thread or adding to the EB version of the bug thread about this issue. The more feedback people leave the easier it should be to squash this bug.
Forum link to EB’s version of this bug in the bug report forum: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Severe-Walk-through-closed-enemy-gates-in-EB
Orb’s should provide monitory rewards / big karma boosts / something that doesn’t impact how hard it is to capture a keep. Otherwise you get something similar to the old system. Make fighting over the orb worth it but avoid mechanical increases to WvW stats/keep functions.
A level 84 guard would flatten an uplevel.
Needlessly complex and rewards the winning server too much. Back to the drawing board!
It’s basically a one in a thousand odds for that matchup. Kittens to be everyone involved.
I suppose so! Not like this seems to be the result of a new bug which is effecting everyone, instead: PITCHFORKS.
Or something.
If I could control “my” server from work that would be pretty neat!
I didn’t WvW much this week but my alt army is lookin’ good. Next time I see people spawn camping “everyday” I will yell at them.
(edited by Urrid.4593)
One day TC, I hope you own up to your spawn camping tendencies, we all do it at times.
NARF.
(Everyone spawn camps, you said it perfectly.)
So I opened too many chests to get a matching red-tasseled Dragon’s Jade Kris so you can imagine my surprise when I discovered what I think is an easy fix.
I believe the polygon normal is improperly flipped on the tasseled portion of the dagger so it doesn’t display when viewing the character from the front. From behind the tassel displays properly.
If this is the case here is a handy guide to fix this fashion faux-pas in a popular 3d modeling program!
http://download.autodesk.com/us/maya/2010help/files/Editing_polygons_Reverse_polygon_normals.htm
With any luck this MAJOR (minor) issue can be addressed. Good fashion demands it!

It is really good for condition necros! Other than that, applied fort all the way.
I am not a huge fan of VOIP programs but this would change WvW overnight.
Give me the aetherblade rapier and no one gets hurt!
Nexon is a majority shareholder in NCsoft and by extention, Anet.
I look at other people ALL THE TIME. The dye system is the sole reason I am still playing the game. My alt army looks absolutely wonderful. White and black dye? I never use the un-creative junk. >.>
I will easily spend an evening getting the perfect colors on my armor
The level of customization in this game is fantastic with all the transmutation stones. I know my alt army has room to grow (nine characters and counting).
I often check out what armours and dyes people are sporting and judge ’em on it, usually I judge them based off their dyes.
I recruit based on looks. People that care a lot for their characters usually are involved and fun people to play with as well as longer term players than your typical player.
But to me, a good armor is one that looks unique, and being unique means mix-matching armors and using a nice dye palette. I don’t care how hard you worked to get that CoF set or the skimpy human medium set because everyone has that so I’m not going to stop looking at your gear if your character wears that.
This, and as someone else said these people lack imagination!

RET + TC primetime = icky accident.
I would hate to command against that. lol.
edit: I am drunk @ work. I mean RE+TC woopsie
(edited by Urrid.4593)
The way I view WvW:
1) Does your map have a queue? No? Do whatever the hell you want.
2) Does your map have a queue? YES! Please consider following the commanders or switching maps, space is limited OMFG I hate you alllll omg dieeee
or
3) “I hate having my tag on, why do I have my tag on?”
the answer is 3.
