I’m from TC and I’d like to say that the folks from BG are some of the nicest around.

I wanted to move to a T1 before the season started and a BGer asked me if I could afford moving to a T1. If not, he could help pay for half or so of my transfer to any of the T1 servers, not just exclusive to BG.

I declined because I did not need financial assistance but I thought it was a really kind gesture and will never forget it. He wasn’t trying to buy me and instead just offered help.

Just by browsing through this thread, I can say that some BGers are sweethearts.

TC seems like an entirely different server ever since EP and KH moved out. Lots of hate towards T1s especially BG and sometimes JQ. Most of the QQ on eb map chat are from people I’ve never seen before or up-levels. They were saying stuff like BG are cowards and would lose to them if the numbers were even and that BG loves to run full map zergs.

wow not sure why they would say that, BG would prefer to run small groups of upto 30 than the map zergs which dominate t1, why do you think we have so many havok groups and roamers

Well, I am practical and I have integrity. Surprised that you are unaware of how different TC wvw now. How long have you been in TC?

Where were you around this time last nite? In EB, we had people beating their chests about their wvw rank and at the same time lambasting BG on how kittenty they are at fighting. One person said that someone from BG went to TCLA and explained to TC how unorganized BG is on reset night. (I doubt someone from BG would do that)

Where were you there when Odinzu of EP held the server-wide wvw training to prepare for leagues? It was the week TC matched up against BG and SoR. He specifically chose SoRbl as our training ground because he wanted to fight a full map zerg. BGBL would not be a good place for that because players are more scattered. That was an awesome afternoon full of great battles with SoR.

So you have one person say BG runs full map zergs while another say that they are unorganized. It was contradictory and just based on the garbage they were spewing out, they seemed inexperienced yet opinionated.

I don’t like negativity on map chat but I hate it even more if people from Tier 19 servers spread misinformation with zero experience fighting w Tier 1s. If they want to improve, they should embrace and learn what Tier 1s are doing instead of running their mouth and filling up map chat with garbage.

This is from last year during the infancy of WvW.

Tiers were set up for a reason and one of them is prevent match-ups like these.

I’d say probably all of JQs battles sans BG and SoR will look similar to these.

I was and still am in one of the server you guys pulverized last year.

One way to prevent JQ from mowing us down is by working together to apply pressure on them. Hopefully we won’t be as “easy” if we Tier 2s worked hand in hand.

Still no red post about this. It makes me sad that the developers have absolutely no clue about their wvwvw community and its showing clearly now more then ever. Anyone who has bothered to play a BG/JQ/SOR match up knows that BG and JQ loves to double team, since all they care about is a shinny metal next to their name in standing at the end of it all.

Hell they have been doing it since last night, even sitting on voice coms and talking to one another (how do I know? because I just moved from Black gate since what your doing makes me sick), making sure to attack anything SoR may hold when an opposite servers holding is being pressured. Yet refusing to attack each other even when t1. Ironic that JQ has magically popped to the top of the PPT over the past 24 hours despite not being able to hold their own all week. Its saddens me that after JQ paying so many guilds to come over, an honest matchup between these three servers will never happen and Blackgate is allowing it, and now any decent wvwer on either one of these servers will have their name tarnished because of pathetic tactics like these.

Sor is the only decent t1 server left, they have yet to come crawling to BG asking for help, and I would know if they did, so don’t point fingers because they can stand on their own two feet and fight. Its a shame I didn’t move earlier to help them.

You haven’t been in T1 or on BG long have you? Besides your first sentence nothing you wrote is near the truth. For months and month Sor and Jq have 2v1’d BG far far far more often than BG taking part in a 2v1.
SOR and BG have a rivalry from like last year, way before many of the players they fight against even came to the servers. I was blown away at how strong the hate SOR has towards BG was when I first xfered. All this time I have been involved in maybe a handful of favorable 2v1 situations, where Its been near constant 2v1 against BG.
Former Guild mates from SoR now have leadership roles on jq and sor guilds, and they coordinate 2v1 kitten often as well. So ya…

I agree and appreciate your awareness on this matter. I took 3 months off from the game but the JQ SoR vs BG arrangement has been going on since the first quarter of this year.

I’m not in BG but for some odd reason, I’m rooting for them to win. I’m aware that they are the least stacked and recipient of harsh criticism but they still fight and come out strong. Their core community seem to never give up and that to me is admirable.

TY dragon, you seem to know BGs wvw well.

When I guest over there, the server seems to sport pride and a sassy attitude. Believegate I think is what they call the server. There was another one but I forgot. Are the wvw guilds in BG as tight knit as SoR’s?

What impressed me when observing BG is how one small guild army took on and wiped a zerg literally twice the size repeatedly. It was beautiful how they were organized and ran through like a solid ball, regrouping and dropping bombs at the right place and time. That BG guild seemed very blood thirsty and would go on and fight instead of running away. I wonder if the whole server is that way.

I wish I had the opportunity to observe SoR. As someone stated earlier in this thread, they seem like a class act.

I’m familiar w some battle tactics but still a novice. There’s nothing I’d love more than to be a part of battle centric guild in a like-minded server.

Trust the opinions of a server mainly from those residing on it. You won’t get a clear picture otherwise. All are good bets, all have a chance at winning. It sounds sort of like you’re asking us to tell you which one will be a lock for winning gold, but at this point I don’t think there’s any way we could make that determination.

Hi! I actually prefer the server that isn’t the current dominating force. The battles would seem much more challenging and memorable.

Thank you all very much for sharing your insights. I appreciate the feedback from JQ and SoR residents. I know BG is an exceptional server as well but I guess they’re not as active in this section of the forum.

I play weird hours between 9pm upto 2am server time.

From what I’ve read, JQs been ticking 500 against BG and TC, not some tier 2-3 server. I’d love to migrate to either BG or SoR but I’m not sure just how large JQs wvw player base is and if it makes them almost impossible to beat.

Planning on migrating to a T1 server because I enjoy wvw, especially the battles. I like fighting and in most occasions enjoy fighting when the odds are against us (fighting a bigger zerg). I feel it makes me a better player and it truly is very rewarding. I’m the type that supports the underdog instead of following the bandwagon. The challenges are far greater that way.

I’m looking for a synopsis comparing the wvw experience between the tier 1s.

I know a lot of people have moved to JQ. I just dont want to seem lame and a leecher because I know a lot of newer wvw players moved there banking that it would finish at the top. What does BG and SoR have to offer? Are people in mapchat generally pleasant or rude/hostile? Does BG and SoR even stand a chance competing against JQs numbers?

Silven I agree with you 100% about the scepter being the most powerful bunker weapon. Been using it plus shield for a few months now mainly for Chains of Light and also being the only weapon with ranged attacks.

This should be mandatory reading for all soloers.
