Ele pro tip. Just because your health bar is full does not mean that you should ignore water attunement. Use it to heal your teammates. Similarly using magnetic aura to protect your team. Ele is the least selfish class in the game that is often played the most selfishly.
I can t believe there are soloQ eles running cleansing water instead of powerful aura. More victories are experienced by those who are unselfish. I know it’s hard in soloQ coz you’re put with a bunch of strangers. But those same 4 strangers are needed to win so might as well be useful and help your teammates succeed.
I think the OP needs to change the title of this thread. I have seen more than enough premades do the same things as listed above. What’s worse is when you get a bad premade since they should be in communication and still run around not knowing what to do next. Same rules apply. Key is to pay attention and don’t blame others for your own mis-plays, understand them and try and do better next time.
Really would love to see statistics on queues to see how many matches are premades of what sizes.

All jokes aside, the OP of this thread has a very good understanding of conquest but if his teammates are worthless, it’s not right for him to blame himself. Because in SoloQ, it’s common to get worthless teammates. You just need one to ruin the match for everyone else.
Unless it’s a high mobility build, going far at the start will always fail.
Most people that run far don’t even know why they are going there in the first place. Many many many many many times I’ve seen teammates engage in a far fight after the opponents have capped it.
It gives me the urge to want to yell till their ears bleed.

That’s correct. The only time personal score would matter is when both teams end in a tie when clock expires. It’s an extremely rare outcome, the last time it happened to me was over a year ago. Other than that, personal score is a useless stat. I didnt get a screenie on the final result of this match coz it was the most stressful thing I’ve experienced in gw2 and glad it was over.
How about just use statistics and the match score, and throw out the “hey I did good they gave me random arbitrary points!” nonsense.

I quit playing for 2 months.
Healing bomb engie with incendiary powder used to get me lots of PMs. I miss that build. Now engie bombs have the most awkward looking animation. Im seriously embarrassed to use it.

Queuing on weekends :/
You make it sound like weekends are a bad time to queue. The increase in player population is a very positive thing. Queuing on weekends should be promoted not avoided.
I had much better games earlier today than lately. This is the time when premades are out in full force. Oh well, may as well do bell choir until the farmers go to bed.
Same. Weekends dont turn out too well for me. I do far better on weeknights during primetime.
There used to be a more prominent hotjoin scene in-game. Depressing to see a lot of these servers empty now. There used to be multiple matches going on simultaneously but when I checked recently, there was only one map with a full roster. The rest either had a couple or completely empty.

Long queues usually mean matchmaking is having a hard time finding a roster of 10 people within their division/mmr so it’s forced to search lower the original bracket.
I get nervous when queue would pop above the 15min mark.
DS auramancers are your worst nightmare if you 1v1 them as a condi necro. But even ele mains are not entirely in favor of DS. They are only effective during a tiny window and become completely worthless afterwards.
Chronobunker and tempest are not even close to being in the same league.
On your necro, don’t engage them alone if they are sitting on a capped node. If you are really hot for decapping, help your team by wiping mid first and then have someone accompany you fast to assault the bunker
Can’t believe there are people in the forum that believe personal score is an indication of skill or a measurement of contributions made for the team.
I’ve said many many many times, especially in-game that it was amateurish for the devs to even post personal score. You’d expect developers to spot that error and eliminate or at least alter the stats presented. It just confuses noobs to over inflate their score by zerging/double capping and what not. It just confuses noobs to do what they’re NOT supposed to.
Only one event must take place for personal score to matter. And it’s something that hardly ever occurs and hasn’t happened to me in over a year – a tied score when timer expires.

Your suggestion sounds better than what it is right now. My favorite trait in earth line is elemental shielding.
Problem with ds is that it’s really only effective against pure condi classes. If your opponents aren’t completely brainless, they would assist the necro/condi class to break the ds threshold.
In team fights, people still target the necro but I think the scepter/focus shout auramancer is a little easier to take down after breaking ds. Their mobility sucks and wont waste your CDs like chronobunkers did.
What was the incentive for NOT resetting MMR?
Having balanced games. MMR is the number that indicates how skilled you are relatively to the other players, determined by your capacity of winning against lower MMR players, and your tendency to lose against higher MMR players. Resetting it would mean a few weeks of completely random games.
I hear what your’re saying, I’m aware that the first week will be a rough patch but it will prevent a lot of the match manipulation that’s been going on for a while now.
I think the amount of time soloQers have wasted because manipulators farmed them for pips will exceed the amount of time it will take for MMR to settle. And, while MMR is at 0, they could implement other metrics to sort team rosters so it’s not 100% random. Metrics such as # of conquest games played, rank etc. They’re not as good as MMR but a lot better than 100% randomness.

I understand that we were completely out played, but what I do not understand is how 1 bad player on a team of Top tier players, made the system think that we had a 60-99% chance of winning.

Remember matches where you help clear out the enemies at mid, then hustle back home to prevent a decap and then suddenly get +1’d by the enemies. As you conserve your vigor for making the one last evade before you are downed, all 4 members of your team are breathing through their mouths as they wait to cap mid.
You end up dying even if the enemy team is outnumbered because you helped win the team fight and 2-3 are at spawn. They now have both sides capped.
How could this happen? Because people like the OP ended up in your team.
There are 2 rules I follow when soloQing:
1. Only play during NA prime
2. Don’t queue on weekends
The quality of your matches improve dramatically

The faster way to get out of Emerald is to not get into a losing streak when you are 1-2 pips away from next tier or division.
Time your losing streaks when you’re at the bottom of a tier w/ no pips to lose.

Implying we’ll have a choice otherwise if we SoloQ or won’t be subject to horrible matchups. I had a team with two thieves earlier the matchmaking should really take class into account.
I hate having 2 thieves. I started a thread about that a long time ago. If you sense you’re in a losing streak, play in unranked for a bit. That’s what I do based on how bad the teammates are or if we are against a premade our solo team has little chance of beating.
My favorite trait in the entire earth line is elemental shielding.
There are skills and traits that cleanse or reduce the duration of movement impending skills – making chill, a hell of a lot easier to tolerate when you encounter a chill necro.
Aside from DS, Ele’s have geomancer’s training = duration reduction of movement impending cc and lucid singularity 100% duration reduction of movement impending cc when overloading.

I do, I’m also left handed which sucks sometimes because when I travel and have an itch to do a short 3-par, there’s no guarantee that a lefty set is available for rent.

I queue solo exclusively and were in matches where I was awarded a pip despite us losing. Since we have no idea what the award thresholds are, I think we were given a pip because the final scores were close and we went against a full premade.
I thought upgrading to a faster PC would get me better teammates. What the hell is really going on here?

Fun times indeed. At times I get nervous when we end up in the same team because you/your mmr/marked bad RNG account somehow attracts the worst teammates imaginable.

With matchmaking going for a 50% win/lose, sometimes RNG would reward the “new” player meanwhile place the more experienced player in a losing streak to balance progression. It’s quite random if the deserving player gets to move on up or not.

There is nothing fun about pvp anymore. Be it the meta, long queue time, bad matchmaking. And if you decide to pve or wvw, they ruined those too. There is nothing fun about this game anymore.

I think a 2 rev, scrapper, chronobunker and tempest/druid or reaper would do well against the 2rev, 2chrono tempest/druid comp. Reapers could also destroy rev once theyre in shiro

If a SoloQ decides to bunk for a pug team, thank them because they will probably contribute the most on the team scoreboard.
Unfortunately, what occurs is the contrary, bunkers are underappreciated.
When the bunker calls out bad rotations, scrubs often use the bunker’s low points against them. Stop that. If you bunk and scrubs use your points against you, refer them to this thread.
A few months ago, I inadvertently deleted the Authenticator app on my phone when I was freeing up storage space.
I finally got a new phone and would like to use another authenticator but there is no way to unlink it to the current one because the app is gone.
January, I will be relocated and there is no way I can generate codes for the new IP address because I don’t have the authenticator anymore. This is supposed to help secure my account, not lock me out.

Warriors face a 2 fold sustainability problem.
1. many classes can sustain warrior damage
2. warriors cannot sustain other class’ damage
