Guys the rude posts won’t help change his mind about his game lol
Dying to a longbow ranger? Sounds like you started the game 1 week ago as well : DD (i’m probably gonna be banned for this message but #yolo)
Hi Azure, Obal has covered the PvE Guardian builds in his sticky here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Guide-DPS-Guardian-for-PVE
You could give the Hammer + GS Max Utility = 3/5/0/4/2-build a shot
Those are some nice rotations for Might Stacking. Thanks for sharing
Also, if you have a Warrior in your party, all their banners skill #5 is a blast finisher, and banner of Discipline additionally has a 8 second basic fury with its #2. Basically everyone in the party can pick up a banner and blast a fire fieldd field but I rarely see anyone doing it
You’ve been on the same tracks that I have, made this one earlier myself based on the 4/5/0/0/5 http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNAR8dlsApZo9CxVI8DNBARlbREh2GAPAmxQ4B-TFSGABKcEAA4BAAy+DAq+jUKBHS5XCXEAy0NIEATA-w
Can maintain between 19-25 stacks of might on myself as long as the enemy has enough of HP to let me keep critting
Tried swapping your food for Chocolate Omnomberry Cream? +20 boon duration right there
Since you want to be supportive, I’d say go for the 4/5/0/0/5 which traits you can modify to give a huge amount of support while doing DPS http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVMQNAR8dlsApZo9CxVI8DNR8Ql7Y8i2+BtQlBQDA-TxRBwAX3fIiSwiK/up+DKdDIM/B4JAIGA9A-e
You can check out Obals guide in the Guardian forums, it’s there between the stickies. There are many more DPS-orientated build found there as well.
edit: I was too slow again
When downed, a Rangers skill #3 will call the pet to aid in reviving you. All classes have their own unique downed skills, Ranger has this one
All weapon and armour skins that you unlock will be available for all your characters – some of them require it to be of correct race or weightclass though, but that’s another story. So the answer to your question is yes
1) Have an Asura
2) Equip said outfit
3) Remove headgear
4) Add flute in hand
5) You now have your own Satyr-character
So what is your opinion on considering Legendaries and other purchasable gear/skins from the TP?
This new system really supports bullying and griefing of instances, it does not change even though you delete my posts and infract me. With the old system you were able to moderate your instance and keep griefing at bay, does it come as a surprise a huge wave of kicking and trolling started as soon as the new “improved” system was released?
And that post from Chris Cleary is a pretty big finger towards anyone selling, I am uncertain how an employee is allowed to post such things. We, customers, are able to read between the lines you know.
Fine – you do not support selling, it’s ok. You don’t have to. I am not a dungeon seller. But what you are supporting is disgusting behaviour from griefers now by standing idle and going “haha you should not be using the LFG-tool in the first place” – leaving me and other players without any tools to protect ourselves from them, since you are not going to help either. I assume you are aware of that it does not only affect sellers but allow griefing in normal runs and instances too?
I don’t want to sound mean but im actualy very against dungeon selling and in some way even glad people who do it becomes scarces because of that kind of haters. I wouldn’t openly support what they do but I wouldn’t report them for it either. I personnaly think dungeon shouldn’t be for sale to begin with.
Good motivations would be nice to hear why you are against people supplying to the demand of a huge amount of players, thus supporting thieves stealing from the men doing the labour

I tried building my meditation guard to specifically counter condition builds, especially the thief one with pistol, with as much condition removal as possible on him, still every so called fight – if it could be called so – ended horribly for me with condition cleanses on cooldown. Nothing fun on even meeting these guys anymore, if I see a thief with condition food I just go away.
So I finally dragged myself to these forums to find the build they are using so I can level up at thief and see what it is all about, and I see this thread with a video where good players with high PvP ranks get wrecked without the thief even using weapons. I don’t know what to say… Profession Balance forum is full of thieves wanting nerfs to Rangers while they have this…
Your best friend in PvE would be having at least 3 points Radiance which allows you spam your F1 throwing out constant blinds on enemies and pumping short amounts of might in yourself and allies alike
That room in CoFp2 is a mess anyways where everyone ends up running around, only with high dps the mobs will die so fast they don’t have time to swarm the room – doesn’t happen with pugs.
So, since everyone will be running around there looking for the assassins, your Consecrations will be mostly useless, bring shouts to that room, especially Stand your Ground. Affects mobile allies just as well as if they would stay still.
Berserker gear is difficult to survive in the beginning because you need to be able to time your Aegis and blinds correctly, but when you learn to blind them it gets much better. Shelter, Focus #5 (can be used at all times) and Renewed Focus will further increase your survivability. Even the leap from Greatsword #3 can function as a quick “oh kitten”-button to buy you a few seconds to get your skills from cooldown
When creating a character or modifying an existing one with a makeover kit, there’s an option to turn off the lightning, then the glow will keep looping slowly both on the Sylvari hair and the pattern on body
Get onto Borderlands
Enemy capping north camp
I go to north camp
Enemy is a Guardian and Longbow ranger
I look at the enemy. More lootbags
I start running and what do I get? Longbow ranger knockback. I dodge Rapid Fire.
I teleport next to the ranger. I watch him go full panic mode when his health drops in a few seconds while his Guardian friend waves his staff around and throws symbols around the camp
I say “More Rangers should play full glasscannon longbow”
Later I have annoying fight with roaming thief. A large dagger howls. I fail to use any skill. I get backstabbed and die after 2 hits on me in a timespan of 0.000000000069 seconds.
RIP.
I don’t care about WvW
This statement matters more than you think, so, do you care of WvW or not? If you don’t care about it then it has no matter which server each one of you play on, there is nothing affecting your family from playing with each other
Looks like binding roots to me
I’d be interested to see the build you’re running there
I really don’t consider it to strong, the necro already have that ability to rip bons why not us we only have one easy acces condition ( burning ) and that barely deal some damage. Why not juice it up like what they done to rangers ?
I am not considering its current form too strong either, it’s quite nice, since you don’t need to use a single trait, rune or sigil to keep proccing burning on an enemy with your attacks because VoJ does it for you. You don’t even have to think of your burning damage when using it, you can go full power meditation guard and still get that might stripped from that Ele
Of course if Anet decided to lower the CD i wouldn’t be complaining, I like getting buffs
I’m not sure I understood you correctly, could you rephrase it a bit, please?
Hmm… A lower cooldown could quickly make it too strong, it’s not that hard to apply burns since VOJ does it automatically regardless of build. Currently I’m trying it out on my Mediguard to remove might from eles, it feels fine. With lower CD I think it would be too much considering other players since you’d only need to autoattack them and strip them constantly from boons
There could be a couple problems with this, however. It could, for example, end up being abused by people trying to sell dungeon paths to other people.
Has anyone actually seen this happen, sellers kicking customers? I have only heard of it happening the other way around (which the current and improved system greatly supports).
Ruining the reputation of sellers would be bad for his and his colleagues future business
Are you trying to get us nerfed or something? Shh
Meh, check his posts in the profession balance forum and then try to take his suggestions seriously after that. Moving on
I wrote before the patch that I don’t like the idea of getting rid of instance owner, and I’ll be writing it again.
Why can’t there be an option to have an instance leader or not? Have an option when creating a party if you want to be the instance leader, the ones who don’t want it would leave it out. Then in the description people can see and choose a path that has the one of their liking, the group with a leader could have a star or something next to it. Everyone would win, nobody would be on the mercy of griefers anymore, who the current system just supports.
Btw, I don’t do dungeons anymore without friends or guildies. Max 1 pug allowed
so anyone knows why this was changed?
i dont think anet nerfed this tonic just to make players unhappy?
or…?
The reason is the tonic enabled exploiting/glitching in dungeons
Not mine, but someone posted a pic here of a LFG with the words “no pugs” in it
Well I did this when the Strength Runes came out reworked and my boon duration build died off so I wanted to test them out on a build based on the “Max Utility = 4/5/0/0/5” from Obals guide, ending up moving the 4 points from Zeal to Honor instead for Empowering Allies. Aiming on keeping might up easily thanks to the long duration and the ability to spam blind and vulnerability with Virtue of Justice while still being able to remove conditions partywide and switch quickly between Consecrations and Shouts keeping me only switching stuff in utilities for each encounter so I don’t need to mess around with traits in middle of dungeons since I every freaking time forget to switch them back. So now I can easily switch between WoR, Hallowed Ground, SyG and Retreat without getting increased cooldowns, only the rare encounters for Spirit Shield needs to swap 1 trait.
Blast on Purging Flames with Focus and picking up a Warriors banner for skill #5 gives iirc 6 stacks of ~37 seconds of might to start the stack with
The idea of this was to bring support/condi cleanse without losing too much DPS while not being totally reliant on other classes to be the ones who bring all the Might, I felt like I wanted to participate in the Might stacks too.
Was never a serious thing, just had some fun while creating and testing it even though the joy of getting to test the runes cost me 87g

I don’t know if something’s changed, but the Bonfire tooltip on the site currently reads 6,359 (half of 12,717).
Must be something weird on my side then showing the 12k… Dang how disappointing, here I was already thinking of luring gullible people inside the devastating bonfire
Is that site correct when it shows on the first build that Bonfire (Torch #5) would proc a 12,717 burn damage?
I think you’re just jealous because you need 4 more people in a task that some people manage to do alone
Yes, even outside of combat my rangers sword #2 Hornet Sting has ended up in just rolling around in one place, same thing with Lightning Reflexes that is even a Stun breaker, removes immobility and if traited removes 2 conditions, yet in fights I end up standing still before finally moving back around half of what I’m supposed to be – it’s like half of the evade disappears
This guy again? First he was filling up profession balance with threads about OP Meditation Guards and now has moved on to Rangers?
Have to be a troll, nobody can be this persistent
ctrl + shift + h
The only thieves I see dying to my 6s of reveal are the arrogant ones who storm small group fights like a heavy class.
In 1v1 situations the it doesn’t stop an average thief from backing up and reseting the fight
Played WvW a few hours ago, my Guard with zergbuild of 3k toughness melted almost immediately to that Golems attack which was summoned by a lone Asura Mesmer. Luckily after the Feaure Patch I was taught to dodge so I survived the attack and was able to finish the mesmer
Is this your 5th or so thread demanding Medi Guard nerfs? I got infracted last time for telling you to stop making them, but to be honest you’re starting to annoy me
Met one of these today, ran up to him, accidentally pushed him and he was dead..
We do not pay players to post on the forums nor do we make use of shill or sock puppet accounts. Honestly, I’m surprised if anybody takes these accusations seriously.
Mark Katzbach
Community Special Operations
! Suspicious. Of course the man leading such special operatives would appear here to deny your accusations and try to make you look ridiculous. We’re on to you
hahahaha don’t scam me when you trade please
Haha of course not, you can trust me. Now, just follow me, past those signs with the skulls, just ignore them
Ah, the good times 10 years ago, walking around wearing a CAPE, while relying on a few lobsters in my inventory to stay alive so I don’t lose my valuable items
dem feels…. karamja fishing ftw
Wanna buy a full Mithril, m8?
Ah, the good times 10 years ago, walking around wearing a CAPE, while relying on a few lobsters in my inventory to stay alive so I don’t lose my valuable items
top kek everyone who has every played mediguard has been begging for buffs and here comes the person who knows better and actually thinks it would be better to nerf all the mediguard utilities >___>
I think I should get bigger notice when I’m applied with confusion or torment, the small icons are just not visible enough to make me stop hitting or moving
A small heal on the freaking elite skill that you’ll most likely get to pop only once during a fight because of the long cooldown now suddenly makes mediguards OP?
Impressive!
I wouldn’t be surprised if Anet actually had WvW defence in mind with this buff – with the siege delay traps and all, now possibly making the longbow on walls not just one of those small annoying things you mostly ignore
I don’t want to create a new topic, but I’d like some advice on picking sigils for a WvW roaming 6/2/6/0/0 Scepter/Focus (or shield?) + GS with Berserker gear and Traveler runes build.
I’ve so many times ended up purchasing expensive sigils to my characters and realising afterwards how pointless those were for him.
I’m especially interested in bringing Superior Sigil of Incapacitation (60% Chance to Critical: Inflict Crippled (2 Seconds) (Cooldown: 5 Seconds) to this build and see if it would help against kiters – this Sigil exists now, right?
I’m open to all sorts of suggestions considering traits as well
Do not buy any of the expensive collectible items now. They will not be able to control the rarity of the items when the places of drops becomes public knowledge, you’ll see the prices go down.
Have patience
