I only really recently started running dungeons
Indeed. I think everyone enjoyed them a lot the first times running them. Awesome experience. During the next 100 times they become less and less awesome and you won’t feel like using up any extra time there. Efficiency becomes priority; saving time while gaining more gold.
You’ll want to be running dungeons with like-minded people, one of the biggest problems I see here are different people ending up in same parties. Since you want to take your time and enjoy the dungeons, avoid the groups looking for experienced and fast runs for now, instead make your own group where everyone is welcome.
Edit: the roleplaying part passed my brains somehow, ignore my post if it wasn’t helpful

I’m too very disappointed with the fact how my Wall of Reflection has so many exceptions, it has become unreliable, always have to test it on every single enemy type/attack to see if it actually works. There is no pattern, some AOE-based attacks can be reflected while most not, some bullets can be reflected, some not
“This skill reflects projectiles except projectiles that look like projectiles but don’t count as projectiles”
After reading those posts on LS-boards I’m so disappointed in the GW2-playerbase. One freaking mission you can’t simply waltz through hitting 1. Oh noo you actually have to do something? Shocking!
If these are the modern casuals, I don’t wanna be called one anymore.
The thought of these people appearing in your LFG…
It was really silly of you to think of it happening. Have you even thought it through? All new charrs, their personal stories etc
Even simple and free forums have an option in their settings for their owners to simply lock or delete threads that haven’t been posted in for X-days.
Feels a bit like stoneage here where supervisors just give themselves more work to do
There’s a distance between the Earth and the Sun, you missed the point of this thread by 10000000x that distance.
All I see is an average whiny post that appear after every update. I see no point, you could try explaining it. Your so called zergs will not exist on events that don’t even grant champion bags.
There won’t be that much difference between patch day and later
You guys really are serious, aren’t you?
Seriously, y u play on patchday? When EVERYONE else is too, what do you expect happening on those areas?
I dare you to replay these missions and events after two weeks, and then after two months and then come back and tell me if you see any of your zerg fests
Years?
I don’t know if it was at the beginning but GW1 had GvG before 1st anniversary…
The name doesn’t origin from the feature of GvG ingame.
What makes you assume it’s going to be a buff? Hehehehe
4. Input lag/high ping in dungeon
Perhaps its just me, that my country’s Internet Service Probider doesn’t have a direct route to EU. Maybe the packets are bouncing through many points across Europe before finally reaching Anet EU server. Funny thing is sometimes even someone in my EU PUG gets disconnected and never rejoin. maybe the EU infrastructure is just bad?
Maybe this might also explain why EU Pugs are bad because they can’t get a stable connection.
The way you guys over there view Europe is just extremely adorable
That’s definitely just a bug/forgetfulness, no question about it.
If they fix those bugs as fast as the mesmer ones this will soon be a feature.
Heh, Guardian shouts were recently “fixed” too. Now only some of them are broken!
That’s definitely just a bug/forgetfulness, no question about it.
this is what happens when you bring upscaleds with you, bet she was wearing greens
Instead of changing skill animation they could do something like this instead
Just out of curiosity, ever considered trying out how Purging Flames with a leap/blast instead of Smite Condition would work out with this build?
I don’t do PvP but with this build I was able to take out my friend who does a lot of it, I can only assume how good it would be in the hands of you guys who PvP a lot
Back to Scholar runes then I guess.
Necros have some pretty weak team synergy. They are still quite strong standalone or in low manning. Have had some fun play with Necro guildies.
It’s just pretty sad that the guild you’re advertising in your signature specifically says in their post that they don’t use Necroes
Must be discouraging to main a Necro/Ranger in PvE with stuff like this everywhere
This is not a new topic at all and Anet has shown interest in including it into the game. Work in progress, I’d say.
Edit: found the thread where it was discussed

Just use blind or aegis while healing. At least that would be the smart thing to do.
I’m not sure if you’re trying to call me dumb. But since you’d always have a blind or aegis available when healing I guess SoR would be a good choice.
About the option of reporting them… Well I’m not very optimistic about people doing “minor crimes” like this are going to be punished when they got their hands full with bigger bad guys. So the options at the moment are; let them walk off with gold in their pockets and just wish they get punished, or; deny them the reward immediately and watch them be punished right there.
I’m in favour of the second option. Effective, harmless and breaks no rules. All you did was leave a party.
Then it’d be nice if they said it was intentional.
Even to preserve this “feature”, they could make the owner unkickable and ownership transfer voluntary. There’s no reason that it should be possible to destroy an instance by kicking an owner.
I completely agree with you there. But I’m afraid this is one of the things that simply doesn’t top the Anets prioritizing list.
1. Use signet
2. Necro/Engi/Warrior hits you neutralizing/outdamaging your heal while you’re standing there vulnerable
3. Full CD on Signet with no Heal
4. You die
5. ???
6. profit
This all makes me very sad. I just finished crafting an entire set of ascended celestial and now it seems like it’s crap.
I have a full celestial crafted myself and it’s great to have it at some points where one of my berserker sets aren’t doing the work properly and you simply need more survivability.
It’s the best thing there is in dungeons, no way I want to see it “fixed”. I create an instance, and if some nerd decides to kick out my friend or some other person for their guildie or whatever reason, I can simply demand them to get him back in or I disband the party. The few gold you lose and the trouble to clear the path a second time after disbanding the party at the last boss is totally worth punishing such players.
And now you want to remove all that power from me, the little options there are to punish such behaviour? Giving those guys full access to bully parties as they like, without any consequences? You’re not on a good cause here, my friend.
Equipping it does not affect your ability to mystic forge it.
Transmuting it does.
When you mystic forge it, it comes out as a new item, removing infusions completely from it.
The bad thing about it is that less and less I see the Guardian as a supportive character! – yeeees I know he has supportive spells, but now I see him as a selfish support that happens to also do something for the others. Maybe that’s the aim of the game… I’ve seem some people praising this system like “Thanks god I don’t need to relly on those stupid healers anymore”.. But I don’t know, I like to play support/healer in most games and here I feel like I’m just another DPS taking care of my own busines, trying not to die. Maybe my comcepts will change as I go deeper in the game… Just 2 weeks at lvl 80…
And yes, I played WoW for a fair time… (sick of it though)(gw2 is better, haha)
But you’re actually healing in an indirect way, no big green numbers on screen, but by mitigating incoming damage to your party.
Imagine a boss about to 1-hit one of your friends who has, let’s say 15k health, but you apply an Aegis to him; bang, you just saved 15k health. Or a blind that makes that attack miss. Or a protection that reduces 33% of all incoming attack to him for a while. Or maybe you applied a wall of reflection that reflects all incoming projectiles from him, again saving a lot of HP. Or by removing conditions that might’ve sucked his HP out just before he was able to heal himself. Or by breaking his stun and giving him stability so he was able to stay/get up.
It’s a lot of invisible help you’re giving out, no shiny green numbers, but when you time everything right you’re saving so much HP by mitigating damage it that you could call yourself a healer.
Majority of the playerbase consist of people that are unable to complete simple events that require you do something else than spam attack #1 in a huge blob. Sounds insane to let them have power over anything significant in game
WvW has TWO builds, one for solo-roaming/small groups and one for zerging
PvE is 4/5/0/0/5
drop torch/shield, they won’t be used outside of sPvP
if you want medi for WvW its this build:
What is the secret behind you guys staying alive with (almost) full berserker there? I tried it for fun and it was great 1v1 but immediately when there was two enemies I only manage to down one of them and then the other one takes me. Share your secrets
^ Well he does have 25 points in Virtues adding up on that 45% duration. But without a sigil of strength, it seems you’d need to invest points for Empowering Might as well
I bet after waiting all this time with them you’ll be able to trade them for watchwork sprockets or something.
So other boon durations were nerfed but you can still keep might up
Superior Rune of Strength
+25 power
+10% Might Duration
+50 Power
+15% Might Duration; 25% chance when struck to gain might for 10 seconds. (Cooldown: 5 seconds)
+100 Power
+20% Might Duration; +7% damage while under the effects of might.
- Sigil of Strength (60% chance on critical hit to gain might)
- Trait Empowering might (might to allies and yourself on critical hit)
- Traited boon duration 0-30%
So what does a combination of the above stuff with berserker gear look like? I haven’t been able to test it myself since those runes are now at 8g each and I’m out of g’s myself
The answer to your question would be: at some point. That’s all they’ve said.
My personal guess is the 15th of April, but you never know.
Don’t forget our vigor will be nerfed :/
Note that in each thread everyone has the same amount of money; 1234 56 78.
Virtues
Purity of Body – Resolve’s passive effects increases endurance regeneration by 15%.
Doesn’t sound too bad if you combine it with Battle Presence. Right?
I’m sorry but I don’t think of your guild mates as “nice” if they are unwilling to teach you.
Pretty much gotta repeat this. Doesn’t sound like a good guild if you can’t get even one guy to help you out. I recommend to join some more social and casual guild.
Furthermore, have you tried creating your own group in LFG with a name that states you’re new and need help?
Joined groups like that myself a few times and explained the whole dungeon to people, which is much more enjoyable since these people tend to listen carefully and do what one tells them to do, rather than playing with people who THINK they know what they’re doing.
I am willing to pay you 6c per Jute Scrap though, if it will alleviate your angst over being offered too much.
No, no, no, don’t sell to him, sell to me, I’ll offer you 5c each!
Humour is allowed, right?
(edited by Vikkela.7261)
You’re obviously clicking something wrong in the trading post. You can sell for less than the market value unless it is as low as a vendor sells the item.
This trait might be trash for most builds, but I’m waiting for them to release the other new Grandmaster traits before judging anything more
All materials required in crafting Ascended armour should be a good practical example of how people are willing to pay for things they want. Items that were worth nothing and considered junk suddenly multiplied in price after the release, yet the way of obtaining has not changed.
Then as soon as the cool new back item everyone wanted was released and people found out they need iron, it rocketed too. Even though you still get it the same way as before.
Sigils and runes should be the next thing after the big update with them.
The implementation though is poorly done, really the exact same troll with an identical loot table?
He has a different name and is blue. Totally different.
Because slapping a Sprite sticker on a Coke bottle totally makes it Sprite.
I’m not sure if you’re serious and missed the joke, or, are joking yourself…
Have rewards dps-bound instead of “I entered an instance and I’ll be rewarded”. I’m sorry. Either that and have people who deserve loot not getting it or have a bunch of leechers. I see no other way.

The Epilogue Better Be Grand *Spoilers*
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

What exactly do you expect from an Epilogue?
Common sense already says it’s just about wrapping things up, going through stuff that happened. Nothing special. You’ll have to get some patience and wait for season 2.
People still seem to be keen to believe that it would somehow be the deep sea dragon, even though it has been long awaken.
To everyone who are still unsure what dragon it was that Scarlet woke up, the correct answer lies here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Timeline
You don’t need to nerf the knights or get rid of overflows, you only need to get the people form the instance to actually join you in the event against them.
Last night I witnessed for the first time (I guess I’ve been lucky since all my earlier attempts have been a succcess since the start) a failed attempt at knights on the main instance simply because people there were just… Running after Peter and doing other events, which they could do in whatever overflow. Lacked around 20 people at each knight because of this.
I love the event, and the current loot system there but I’d hope there would be a way to “force” or more like concentrate people to the knights event when it starts, instead of filling up the mapchat and running like headless chickens after Peter.
Rule #1 for Living Story items: Don’t delete them until the story has ended.
Simply this. How many times do people need to do the same stupid decisions before they learn something simple like this? I bet you’re the same people buying iron ores and other crafting materials just when they peaked after the event.
Just two stories I’ve encountered through the times I’ve played:
A time ago when we were doing CoF story with 3 of my friends for the first time, we LFG stating it was an unexperienced run, and a 15k AP thief joined. What happens is he is the only one constantly dying and finally at one boss that has a aoe around him which we were avoiding as anyone with a logical sense and normal reaction (can’t remember exactly what), he dies again meleeing it and then types something in the lines of “wtf can’t you even take some kittening fire” blaming us. Yeah, it was not a speedrun but it went easily after we got rid of him.
Then last week or so when I was running through hotw p1 as usual, a 900 AP warrior (or was it a guard?), equipped with at least one legendary joined my group and we had a perfect and smooth run.
I’ve never looked at the achievement points seriously, but I have lately started running dungeons only with guildies or friends since I’ve noticed a lot of players who are unable to play zerkers properly, come in, do no good, keep dying and eventually leave (I don’t kick people for dying). Please don’t fill up these forums with posts saying people should run zerkers without mentioning to them you need to know perfectly how to use that build, it doesn’t forgive your mistakes at all. I’m sick of dragging these guys through dungeons, they’re less of a help in a dungeon than first timers (that I gladly help and explain the run through).
1) Ascended armour is released
Reaction: people still fill forums with complaints about how hard it is to make
2) Suddenly there’s a free crafting booster available, then another one on sale and then the event yesterday suddenly awards you with materials needed in ascended crafting (dragonite ore, obsidian shards and even a lesser vision crystal). And linen was even added to the drops two weeks ago
I’m guessing this stuff doesn’t just come by chance, or even if it does, it’s just people not noticing the whole picture
