Unfortunately yes, and that left TC in the same position we were in against you back then. I.E. not being able to do much other than watch the score tick away at 600+ for 3/4ths of the day.

lol the only difference between SoR going up against TC back then and us (Blackgate) going up against TC now is that there’s actually a server that isn’t empty and is fighting hard (Kaineng). You hit 600+ PPT because SBI had a severe implosion which allowed you to do that “PvDoor” you like to accuse us of doing so much. We hit 600+ PPT against you because of determination, power, and will to come out on top. Ya’ll just ended up giving up in the end after the third week of us fighting.

I enjoy comparing the T1 thread to the T2 thread. It makes me proud to be in an honorable server and not one that QQ’s and gives excuses. Reading the QQ and excuses brings back the memories of when we won 11-0 against your server

Having fought Blackgate for far more weeks than you. I can safely say that they have less coverage than JQ and their NA presence isn’t as good either. They belong in T1 of SoS most likely. They have better coverage than SoR but a far worse NA crew, so I am not so sure they ‘deserve’ T1 and more than SoR despite all the Pvdoor they did for numerous weeks uncontested to run up score.

That was a long time ago my friend. Blackgates guilds are far more improved then the days of being in tier 2. We are far more battle tested then you are seeing as this is your first stint in tier 1. Get ready for that third place spot when bg returns to tier 1 my friend

I like your confidence but trust me SoR is much stronger than BG now even with your recent transfers from foE and AGG.

I’m pretty sure Blackgates perfect 11-0 record against SoR says otherwise but you can keep thinking what you want to make yourself feel better.

JQ has been faced with:

- Dying WvW population and outmanned many nights on all bl.
- Guilds/people more interested in fractals.
- Frustrated player morale for being number two for many weeks.
- Guilds leaving the server.
- Many rebuilding phases.
- Not having adequate coverage for all time zones.
- Every other excuse people are using for leaving SoS.

I want to thank each and every person who kept JQ together through it all. Kept morale high, recruited very well, DIDNT say ’wow this server is not for us lets leave", and DID say “this server is amazing, we need more ppl come be amazing with us”.

JQ has always been a T1 server but it has never been an absolutely dominating server that has won T1 weeks on end. NSP, HoD, SBI, SoS have seen their glory days and all been #1 for a long duration while JQ is barely starting it’s victory streak.

It get’s lonely at the top especially if your server trumps all the others with hardly any effort… Only a matter of time before JQ falls off as well.

We went against SoR for 11 weeks and tried to be civil with them but it’s impossible to say the least -_- especially since we beat them 11 times in a row; there is no getting passed a grudge of that magnitude…

If Blackgate does get to T1, I’d like TC and Kaineng to join us (or even FA)… the other servers just bring a bunch of negative vibe to the forums :/

FoE and AGG are both in the process of moving to Blackgate.
SoS was our home but in recent weeks they have simply given up and the militia have vanished/bandwaggoned. We found ourselves trying to hold 2-3 maps between 2 guilds and pugs, with other guilds cowering away from the fight. People like tsym having 4 of 65 online people in WvW wanting to take week off after week off if we aint winning, and other guilds more interested in Fractals than fighting for 2nd place.
This was starting to snowball and was not healthy for either of our guilds who are both active competitive pvp guilds, and after several weeks of server meetings we decided its simply time to move on.
Will we have a better chance of being #1 with Blackgate? Probably not unless they get Oceanic/SEA transfers, but what we will get is a server who actually want to fight and never give up which is all our guilds want.
We wish Sea of Sorrows the best and we leave sad that the server went this way.

Wait what? We like our lack of Ques on BG. Just kidding, sort of.

Doesn’t TC need help, or maybe Kain They like to fight as much as BG does and then T2 can be a dead heat possibly. Hopefully people are thinking this through.

If you haven’t noticed we’re severely lacking in our Aussie coverage lol… Regardless, Agg and FoE are amazing (very organized) guilds that we’ve gone up against before and I’ll definitely enjoy fighting beside our old/new brothers

From my experience in NA, I’ve seen some amazing WvW based servers where they use strategy and tactics instead of the common zerging and then I’ve seen PvE/PvX based servers that use no skill at all. Blackgate is arguably the most strategic server in the game with many organized guilds that know what they are doing in W3. They have a community that is close-knit and share ideas to better themselves in WvW and practice everyday to be the best. Hearing someone say that NA isn’t as skilled as EU is laughable. Come to Blackgate and we’ll easily prove you wrong.

lol speaking for myself in a server that played SoR and beat them for 11 weeks in a row, I completely understand why the T1 thread is polluted with bull kitten. SoR has the worst forum warriors/trolls I have ever come across in a game and an immature community that thinks they have the largest e-pens’ compared to the rest of the servers. One would have a better chance at convincing a wall that it’s a bird when trying to talk some sense into them. Reality Check: NA uses as much if not more strategy than EU does. Neither are better than the other, both are equally good in their own unique way. Besides, as Conquest proved in Rift, adding individual rewards for kills does the exact opposite of what you say. It strongly ENCOURAGES zergs because players can get kills much faster that way. How can you not see that? Why would you run with a small team looking for kills when the likelihood is that the enemy will be running around in a zerg looking for easy meat like you? The ONLY people actually pursuing map objectives will be the ones who either prefer that style of play no matter what or who already have max’d out whatever individual rewards ANet may have added. That’s exactly what happened in Conquest and that’s what will happen here unless ANet is extremely careful.

I think Mike Fergy said they are going to put in a better WvW rewards system in the Feb patch. But this pretty much just gives WvW players the same type of gear that PvE players get. I hope there is more to it, something that will keep us playing for a longer time period

Theres no point, because there is always a lot of people and you find a lot of classes…so wont matter if its an elem, mesmer or guardian…because in the group there will be plenty…the commander is just an icon, period.

It’s not like your class gives you mystical insight on what to do as commander.
However playing survivable class is pretty key.
My first tag was on my thief and I really regretted it.
Not that thieves arent survivable, but when Im using my tag as a Rally point and im invising and blinking around, can cause confusion with the people not in TS.

There is no point, because the best survivable class still depends in the person and group, and wont have any kind of benefit by having the commander alive while the whole army is laying in the ground, there is absolutely not benefit having the commander alive the whole fight too.

Hence wont matter no matter how hard someone can think of.

IF the commander was something more than a miserable ICON then it would PROBABLY by a TINY bit matter the class for survivality terms which in fact like it was mentioned wont even have a big impact unless you fight a big bunch of noobs which think D/D elem or a Thief is hard to kill or unkillable or the ultimate powerful class.

ICON ehem..commanders dont give you buffs, dont give you more supply, dont give you more stats, dont give you anything other than a miserable ICON in the map, we arent talking about being coordinated we arent talking about a whole server in a TS3 we arent talking about a big bunch of noobs or a big bunch of pros.

I got to disagree. In the Tet Offensive the Vietcongs failed to take the US embassy because they lost their 2 commanders right at the start. They lost more than just 2 extra guns when they lost their commanders.

I would say survivability, morale boost, enemy psychology and buffs/benefits for allies are very important for a commander.

I agree 100% with this… It’s best to have survivability aka the PVP armor for wvw!

This has its ups and downs but the fact that SOR exploited SBI’s rating to jump into Tier 1 after 2 weeks is pretty unfair to Blackgate, which spent months in Tier 2 fighting to get back to Tier 1 just to be sent down after two weeks from that whole situation.

Here’s the EU queue size data, they can do it for both timezones! If we get something like this going and sticky it for each week then people will know where to transfer to if they want to be apart of a W3 focused server instead of a low pop PvE based server and where they are most needed for their timezone.
