To the OP:
Your build is very self-defeating.
1st You say condition damage yet you take all these stealth skills and yet use D/D…What are you spending Int on … stealth or DB for bleeds? and you only have 12 int… so you can’t do it all.
2nd you have only +25% duration… which is fine for SB but for dagger you have to build in increments of 10% due to Ticks only happening at whole secs.I could maybe see it working if you were P/D using Sneak Attack to apply bleeds and then restealthing….and 25% condition damage makes P/D’s bleeds 5 sec instead of 4 sec
Your way of playing this build is very limited and linear. It doesnt cost ini to go into stealth unless you use cloak and dagger. If you use any other stealth skill you actually get ini for doing so
For a guy who can crunch numbers, you also forgot to add them up. 5% from traits. 15% from runes, 10% from sigil = 30%
My build prolly needs a playstyle video as most people are failing to see how you can regen full inititive in 4 secs by popping a stealth skill (or by using roll)
skill chain is as follows,
DB,DB,steal,DB (at this point they have 9 bleeds and a poison)
switch to short bow and auto attack while letting inititive come back (adding a 7sec bleed)
when they focus you: Pop blinding powder ( sit and wait for ini to come back to full)
DB,DB, Roll for inititive
C&D,auto attack,C&D as much as you like healing every time you do
If your bleeds didnt kill them keep going with DB and regen inititive with your remaining 2 stealth skills.
if you run out or they run away switch to short bow quickly to apply a 7sec bleed and keep firing sb at them on top

The condition builds… These builds are most unlikely to see a nerf and in my opinion the most fun. Theres a few of us tickers out there which just love the idea that a condition build is different from every other MMO’s standard bursty crity thief. We love ANET for giving us guys something new on the table.

This build offers great stealth ability, healing ability, evasive ability, condition damage and the steal does exactly what you want it to do; give you even more inititave while putting a poison on the target and at the same time giving you a stolen skill
Note what I did with the shortbow. Switching to this weapon when a guy is about to run away will instantly put a 7sec bleed on him.
It heals in stealth and heals when spending inititave points which can be gained from using one of your many stealth skills.
Have a flick through the tabs to look at sigils and runes and armour choice I made
Skill chain looks like:

I was at the last Red point on all of the 4 maps near our spawn when Kodash and Riverside showed to take it from all of us.
I logged out at that point. Riverside are giving Kodash space and both are wanting to take us down as we had a good start. Defo team tagging here, weather its intentional or not
Riverside and Kodash pretty much split the map 50/50
Why do people complain about a culling issue with thieves but never report one with mesmers when they also use a skill which makes them invisible in the same way?
We could use some more dedicated wvw guilds and night time players. If there are queues on this server they are almost never more then 10 min.
Only ques ive seen are at prime time weekends fyi. weekdays its instant

Anet listened to the community half way and fixed the issue half way. Transfer of the week servers has not been effected in any way shape or form so its not really a fix for WvW
PvE guys have been scolded some what with buggy events happening on thier server stopping them from transferring to a server without the bug
Still early days for GW2 – Which i kind of expect

The good….. This is a great matchup. Nice and close. Riverside should take the lead with consistency. No one is getting stomped at spawn. SFR can actually do something about this, but as a whole, When SFR hits off peak (Aussie Time) there is very unorganized play by SFR and I prefer to just go solo stomping
The Bad, SFR is still dwindiling on numbers when it matters. When all servers are fully focused and primed, SFR has the smaller numbers. The numbers also show our consistency can not keep up with Riverside. They have more, but not much more.
Defence and attack is just not as coordinated as the other servers when I play (Aussie Time after work 6pm-11pm which is strange for Germany to be very active at these times)
The More Good. When SFR gets 3 orbs its like easy mode, cus we are so used to fighting for weeks on end without and being out manned.
Its clear (being an aussie player) that these German servers are either filled with nocturnal players, or they are coming from elsewhere looking at coordination and numbers on certain BG’s at this time of night. But fair game.
So far a very close matchup. If SFR come second it was because we were to laid back. Our tactics are very basic at best during Aussie Time (6pm-11pm Sydney)
SFR is made up of many small guilds, and 1 or 2 large ones. Servers with more big guilds will do better which is were we are lacking at the time I play
We are responsible for guilds leaving a server? errr.. How can anyone even make such a claim hahaha!!! Everyone has their own choices to make. SFR didnt hold a gun to anyones head
We are still a small population to.
what I hate is downing someone then 3 of thier mates are waiting to just rez the crap out of him stopping you from getting the stomp. Happens in 90% of the footage that isnt shown here :/
best way to counter a thief specialised in going solo hunting, rez the one getting targeted by the thief

I always mostly get them in a downed state, but people i fight against can easily just res them up when they know they only have 1 guy to worry about, so your opponents could have done better…… like they seem to do against me

This is just a update. There seems to be a new surge of interest back in WvW from SFR. Not sure if people transferred or not, but if this server is still medium pop, please look at transferring over. Que times are still very short and PvP is still very good and organised by the larger more established guilds.
Skill level remains high. Still winning the Outmanned fights alot of the time!!
Fixing the backstab 2sec gib issues are as easy as this….
When you press steal it cancels C&D
its that easy
However 75% of good players are now reliably countering this combo move all the time every time
The moves themselves are actually really balanced, its the reaction time to counter that makes it hard for players to grasp and scream OP (Mouse Clickers). The 18K backstabs are a result of the signets stacking might for 5 seconds on top of the assassins 15% signet. However if you cut away the Steal/Instant C&D combo, they would have to work very hard to land the back stab before the 5sec buff expired, making the buff useless and not worth taking due to the difficulty factor.
The reaction time to counter would also be very easy, for even unskilled players, to easy for a build that put all its eggs into one crit (Which is also conditional to being behind the player)
I run a backstab thief – Balance is in a funny place.
Good/Elite players are fine
Bads are seriously unhappy
Im currently loosing to most bunkers in the meta. Any more Nerfs puts all the bunkers in the lead. And thats for a glass cannon thief speccing in a very certain one sided way

eradon terrace was medium pop tier 1 NA. however, the situation has changed on ET.
I believe ET was high until it started loosing and people started leaving to JQ or HoD (Before HoD died out)
Transfers to servers in the Top 2 Brackets should be disallowed – Just a thought
Seafarer’s Rest is a Medium Pop server currently bouncing around T3 and T2 (T2 last match)
If you are looking for a server with no ques (Off Peak and weekdays at all hours), With a hard working WvW community be sure to check it out.
I wont try and sell it to you. Maybe try it for 24hours yourself. But I will give you one fact.
Its the only (and was the first) Medium Population Server globally to appear in the Top 3 Brackets and make it to T2. That kind of shows you the density of quality PvP players in our server.
Not much night zerging from us going on. By being a Medium pop server we kind of have a bit of pride for getting as far as we have. Maybe that might be something you would like to share with us to?

BT server is transfer of the week. If they move to T2, they will be the server to transfer away from for the week
BT isn’t full during US hours. They shouldn’t have any issues moving here.

Well I got different results at the capping supply point north of RED map. Was standing there stealthed, in the middle of the 8 guys there, chaining cloak and dagger for stealth, while hidding near the Water Well which is clearly inside the circle and the guild claim guy spawned on the enemy team.
Guess some points work and others dont?

Maybe I had to leave the circle and re-enter? Not that I am wanting to abuse this, I just want to test. I get killed trying anyway as people know whats up when it happens now and counter accordingly. To test it is a pain

Blacktide is Transfer of the week. But as soon as you start getting beaten in a certain time zone, those time zone players will quickly xfer leaving you less and less.
SFR couldnt be lower. We have only the people we started with
Unfortunatley for BT USA recruitment efforts, the server is already full. So good luck getting one. After your beat in your prime time it wont look to favorable for any US guilds to come flocking to look after your nightshifts
Community wise BT looks strong. Just lacking experienced pvp players is my perception. and its only a perception, i could be completely wrong.

Anyways, none of those stats/gear applies in sPvP or FFA PvP areana Webley.
Give us your WvW stats and gear. Also your level. Thats all I play in.
I gotta say with the right tools dropping thieves is easy. A thief friend of mine is having a whale of a time dropping thieves with a pistol/pistol setup that uses no stealth in it what so ever. Just lots of acrobatics
If you can give me at least the class you play with and your preferred setup I can help you with the tactics to be better at avoiding the predictable moves back stab thiefs will try and play on you. 1 thing is very important and you should have one in your util slot anyway, and thats a stun/immobilize breaker. You can not go to WvW without one no matter what class your up against. I used to use 3.
Traps/marks and cripple/chill/slow effects are also off great use, in any scenario and even more so vs a thief

pistol unload became more viable from this signet. The signet gave a nerf to backstab gibs and a buff to p/w and p/p builds and auto attacks and many other builds
was a very smart move.
People wont be happy till they see nerfs with big crit numbers like: Reduced assassin signet damamge by 10000%

I dont run a glass cannon and my backstabs hit for around 4-6k depending on armour. Ive seen ele AoE hit for 5k. My build 10/30/20/10/0
I run power/crit gear and use hidden killer for 100% chance to crit every time. I used runes of scholar on top
If you take down the build which specifies in doing damage at the high end of the spectrum to a weak pot of crap imagine to what you do to medium builds that dont go full glass
besides, many classes inc engineers can counter me when I am full glass so balances is a none issue. Signet keep damamge but has instagib removed. That means the thief needs to work harder to finish, which means they need to spend more ini.
The new signet works great on Pistol Unload now giving P/P specs a buff which they needed and reduces dagger builds insta burst which was also needed
Guards and mesmers are still the current top end of the meta. Its time to move away from thieves

However SFR are not looking forward to 24h coverage against Deso. We are only medium sized. And we dont night cap. But as a whole we are happy because our community is kind of a dense group of good pvpers who love WvW. Like many servers actually, just without the numbers, orbs, night caps

Theres few outmanned buffs going around because some servers are doing the halloween events
They are unreliable for the next couple of days
SFR seems to be picking up again in off peak times during the hours that i play (6pm-11pm Sydney time Australia). However up until last night that was always with a outmanned buff. Last night we actually had numbers, and the points reflect this
For a medium pop server its dense with plenty and good pvp’ers. Any true pvpers that like a true challenge should check out Sea Farers Rest.

played tonight Aussie time at 6 till 11 pm. things are picking up for sea once again. we are now second place against a high and full pop server. we are only still medium. quality not quantity! great job.

Our Deviation is above average

So each player is consistent, but because we went really high and now loosing tiers really fast due to the loss of numbers in server transfers our deviation is above average
SFR is great, its a shame I am an Aussie user. I am in such a wierd time zone. SFR is close to dead when blacktide are wide awake and zergy

The blacktide mentality is more WvW than it is at SFR. SFR go to WvW, but the server has a whole has a well balanced WvW and PvE and sPvP community, thus each area suffers when getting put up agsainst server who soley join people like blacktide for organised WvW mentality
Its obviously also a case of numbers. SFR are more relaxed at taking keeps, they are also happy to just kill people outside of the keeps for a few hours without building seige to actually take them. Servers like blacktide have a real hunger to take the keeps and get past all the PvP fluffy stuff.
but as mentioned SFR does have a small alliance to take the keeps and objectives. Its just that most of the puggy people on SFR are there to have fun. puggy people in places like blacktide are there for the mentality to take take take as thats the server mentality at the moment. When you have 50 Xaoc people barking orders in blacktide, any pugger will see this on the chat and join in for the ride which creates that mentality.
When people bark orders in SFR, some people join, and others just do what they want to do because they arent to bothered about being the t1 server
its clear blacktide want to move up, and its clear that SFR wants to do well but accepts it doesnt have the numbers and then everyone just go into relaxed killing mode for the badges. Usually when SFR fights off the resistance and theres nothing defending, its fitting to drop a few rams. I dont believe we activley take take take tho as much as the other servers?…

Honestly i’d care much more about the objectives if that amount of people i killed while outnumbered mattered. But it doesn’t. Score only reflects PvE and zerg mentality unfortunately.
True PvPers don’t change that easily just to look “good” for others. Honestly, we don’t give a kitten. Everyone who fought us prime-time face to face saw that we’re good and praised us. Blacktide here even with their morning cap 2 weeks ago got stomped and had to cry for even more people becoming probably one of the most stacked server at the moment, just to compete.Unfortunately like Anet said they wanted to make WvWvW casual, so that everyone could join. So it is what it is, a casual game. Hence why i know alot of people focusing on doing their own thing and tPvP atm since its where the competitive part of the game is at.
Maybe i’ll give focus to WvWvW again when they close free transfers, or when they fix the score to reflect actual PvP. And in fact the guilds who still do WvWvW activelly are doing an insane good job while being medium populated server. Just like right now our score is 455 against 150 from BT and 100 from Riverside, its just pointless since people have to sleep for work/life and by the time they log back in we’d have lost everything to BT since they play agaisnt no opposition… i know this is part of the game, but we can’t simple get 2000 players to cover our night/morning shifts out of the blue unfortunately.
Thats why it will be good when we move down a few tiers. The transfers have tiered up all the servers in a wierd rank. when those ranks even out we will be against like minded servers which will be a good thing for sea farers. We got to high from killing stuff.
Server ranks only really represent what server was server of the week and not actual server progress.
The only problem I see is that people will transfer to us when we do win, and we will also become a stacked server like those we wish not to be. They will also move when we dont win. But thats back down to anets transfer issue. The guesting system will mean certain servers become 24/7 pvp places to go to when your not in PvE. On that day only certain people will fight for the server they play on and most will just use the guesting system for WvW to be on 3 worlds that are full or at high pop for fair fights.
Youll be able to say to your mates when guesting: Meet me in Henge today as its not full. Then another day youll be able to pick another server that is server of the week. The guesting system will promote what free server transfers are doing right now.

The problem with SFR and WvW is that WvW is not structured and neither is the population
Sure WvW has objectives but they are open for anyone to join. People can join WvW and not participate in capturing a Keep but rather hunt for another players for some entertainment
Thats not to say SFR doesnt have alliances that work soley on these objectives…. They just dont have as many. Some servers like Blacktide focuses primarily on these things. People Transfer to Blacktide for that kind of mentality
For instance. in Structured PvP I join and theres only one thing to do on a small map. Capture points and kill people.
WvW is not structured. You can go there, follow a zerg or do a bit of farming for ore etc. Maybe go to the puzzle and kill a few folks on the way without even noticing that there are upgrade options for keeps and what not. SFR is not focused on the WvW objectives but it has some seriously good PvP’ers who do like a bit of WvW. However we lack in numbers, and the minority trying to take the keeps and complete objectives will get frustrated from the guys who just rocked up at WvW to do a bit of killing to test a new build or a new weaponset.
There are some great PvP’ers in SFR but the server mentality is that it just doesnt care to much about the score or night capping. This is frustrating for those in SFR that do care about score and some do care about night zergs. Those people will and some already have; left.
SFR Motto. Casual PvP’ers owning the Serious PvP’ers since launch
The problem for our server is that we will always be in between the medium population servers and the high pop servers. As we will own the medium pops but loose against the high pops just because we dont cover nights and we dont have the numbers.
So that means We will win week1 against a medium pop, loose week2 against a high pop, move down a tier back into a medium pop then win week 3, move up a tier into a high pop and loose again. (Thats a prediction only)
When we reach that bracket people may start transferring to us for the fights. Lets see. We are still way to high in the ratings for what we are now. We punched far far above our weight and now that people are using the transfers to outweigh everything we need to loose a couple of weeks to get to another server with the same mentality, as we are atm facing 24hour servers week after week when we never intended to reach
6th place (without doing the 24hour zergs)

lol, there is no bug. They are using abilities, learn the other profession before calling bug. Guardians are fine.
The problem is there are so many posts like this from bad players that Blazer would usually be right to say this… Unfortunatley not in this case

However, no matter how strong those guilds were, some have left those guilds to join a faceroll guild on a zerg populated server. So I dont think those guilds were as strong as they were, or at least they arent activley participating during the time i log on (Aussie time)

It for me was actually more boring than trying to win a fight when your outmanned
