Serious suggestions?
We want stuff to force ourselves playing the game because of our look – not because every-day content thats not really exists. Here is a “Serious” one:
Gem Purchase track: The more real money you spend, the more nice rewards you get. Example of total money spent rewards:
- $10 – 1BL Key
- $25 – 3Bl Key
- $50 – 5BL key + Mini pack of choice + “Black Lion Partner” title.
- $100 – Ascended weapon box OR a free weapon skin unlock of any BL kit.
- $150 – Ascended armor box OR a free armor skinpack. + “Black Lion Merchant” title.
- $200 – AN Supporter Superpack (lots of choseable goods)
- $350 – “Black Lion Trader” title.
- $500 – “Black Lion Broker” title
- $1000 – AN Supporter Gigapack (Also unlocks stuff you wouldn’t bother to get anyway, like Glorious armor skins) + “Black Lion Millionaire” title
Something like this. With these kind of heavy rewards, people will less likely to buy legendaries from third-party sites I guess.
Will never happen, but I like the idea, as long as it counts all the purchase made up until this point, not from this point on.

Yes, I would rather ANet didn’t completely abandon their principles and give into pressuring from an extremely vocal minority of short-sighted individuals. And I can tell you right now, that’s not what it is.
Okay first, while it is possible the people who want an expansion is a vocal minority, you have no proof of this. Second, just because we want an expansion doesn’t mean we are short-sighted.
I would love to have a large landmass, new classes, weapon types, new races etc. That is the kind of content I want and I want it in one great burst, not tiny chunks. You don’t want that kind of content and you like the current release method, that’s fine. To each their own. But it doesn’t make my opinion less valuable than yours.

Well at least WoW releases tons and tons of content. They churn out entire continents like it’s going out of style. So yeah, getting housing might be better than getting nothing at all.
I personally don’t see much wrong with Housing tbh, the only mistake they made was making it character bound and not account bound.

If it is not an expansion, what’s the harm in saying it is not an expansion? I really don’t get it.
^This. The Living World was just the beginning. that implies something even bigger is coming, this could mean an expansion. And since there is already a high demand for it, a lot of people will expect it. If there is going to be no expansion they should tell us up front and don’t create all this false hope.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Just create an expansion already.. I’m beggin you!
It’s been over 2 years and we still haven’t killed the second Elder Dragon yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if we kill our last ED by 2038..

Norn – females too bulky and too big. creeps me out.
Charr – I don’t like beast races and fur. Also their running animation creates the illusion of them walking slower than other races.

Anet certainly isn’t making me like their favored Sylvari more.
Anet sure does everything in their power to make the Sylvari look bad.
Scarlet – mad psycho, mary sue and probably one of the most hated video game villains.
Aerin – A second mad psycho
Nightmare Court – Even though the other races have evil factions too,
this is the only one that’s evil just for the sake of being evil.
Faolain – Same as above, pure evil for the sake of being evil.
Caithe – Once seen as one of the few good sylvari main characters now being portrayed as a murderer of innocent centaurs.
Trahearne – Not evil or anything, but simply ill recieved by most of the community.

But forcing them to stay in Ascalon didn’t give them a fighting chance to live. There was no chance whatsoever that they would survive the Charr invasion forever. Fleeing to Kryta in search of aid (and potentially use their help to reclaim Ascalon) would be much more about giving people a fighting chance.
There’s no way of looking at this where Adelburn isn’t a bad guy. He could have encouraged his people to flee, he could have led them somewhere safer.
On that I agree, he never should have kept his people there to begin with and let it come to this. But unfortunately it did. I was talking about that particular moment, the moment where they were surrounded and about to die. But yes if I was in his shoes long before, I would have evacuated my people long ago.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Well I do know that if I was loosing a war, I would at least make sure my enemy can’t win either. If I can’t have my nation, then the enemy can’t either.
Of course Ascalon was originally charr land but from his perspective, that’s what I’d probably do.
Really. If you were in charge of an entire nation and you knew you could not win the war would you subject your people to death/permanent undeath instead of fleeing just so that your enemy didn’t ‘win’.
If you’re dead you can’t use the land. What does it matter if the enemy gains it if the cost of preventing them from doing so is killing every single person who looked to you to protect and guide them.
That is horrific.
If I was in his shoes I probably would yes. If we are going to die anyway, then I might as well take my enemy with me.
And most importantly, this gave the last of my people, the people of ebonhawke, a fighting change. The charr would have lost a large part of their army and gained a new enemy (the ghosts of ascalon). This could have given Ebonhawke some relief necessary to dig in and hold out.
I wouldn’t have liked killing my own people but this is the ruthless calculus and hard reality of war. A number of people die here (people who were going to die anyway in this case) so a number of people somewhere else can live.
I would have seen it as an honorable sacrifice to give the last of my people a fighting chance to live. At least that would have been mine reasoning. Adelbern probably just did it out of spite and anger.

If Caithe isn’t immediately executed for this series of crimes upon capture then I probably will not continue playing this story.
Don’t forget that Emissary Vorpp also has some crimes to answer for.
There should be consequences for her actions yes in light of all the good things she has done for Tyria I’d say execution is a bit too far.
It’s just a video game dude, it’s not real.
That would explain why my character keeps respawning when it dies, instead of going into a box in the ground.
It all makes sense now.
I guess I just never understood why people can make a huge deal about killing innocent people in video games. For example that massacre in CoD mw2 or that little girl that got blown up in mw3. That sparked an outrage and became a major controversy. And I’m like.. “seriously? You know it’s not real right?”
The weirdest thing is that killing innocents is somehow generally accepted if you don’t actually see it. Blowing up cities with millions of innocent people in an rts game and nobody bats an eye, see 1 child die and everybody looses their minds.

I really wonder if all those people shouting about the “extreme lack of content” have ever actually played another MMO before.
Yea I played Guild Wars 1, World of Warcraft and EvE.
mmo’s that churn out entire kitten continents filled to the brim with content.
Did you ever play another mmo?
Yes it’s more expensive in some cases but it’s worth it. Everyone constantly uses the “but it’s free” excuse here. Yes it’s free, I can clearly tell by the quantity.
Though I must say the quality of LS is a lot better, I like the story quests and the new zones (even though they are way too small). The only problem now is quantity.

No as an answer is a clear answer, but not adding anything to the discussion, why not?
Because I like champion bags and it actually gives me an incentive to kill champs.

I hope this event will become more popular over time. I won’t stop until I finally beat it, it’s a matter of honor now XD

I don’t think I’ve ever failed that event. You have two people at each entrance to kill them as they enter, right (3 entry points)?
Maybe there’s a bug, because even with 6-8 people I don’t remember there being Champion mobs. I don’t even remember there being Veteran mobs quite honestly, just lots of trash mobs.
The event was beefed up in a recent patch. It’s now a full-on group event with a daily reward chest. It’s much, much harder than it was before the September patch.
“The Harathi centaurs and their allies have called in elite reinforcements and champions to assist them in capturing Nebo Terrace from the Seraph. "
Daaaang, sounds awesome actually. I need to check it out. If I’ve learned anything from the forums, if someone says something is impossible, it probably just means it is somewhat difficult.
Well, impossible with the amount of people usually there. If there are about 20-30 people there then yes, it would be a lot easier.
Imagine doing tequatl with 5 people ^^

In the beginning there are only trash mobs, but eventually a champ arrives with a bunch of veterans which run straight for the center, so you can’t keep them at the entrance. Or at least not the champ, I believe you can pull the vets though.
If there are more than 5 players there are even several elites, as you can see in Tachenon’s screenshot.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I hit that event several times while leveling my NPE ele. I saw it succeed once. I remember telling my guildies there should be a T-shirt reward when it succeeds, emblazoned with the phrase: ‘I Survived Nebo Terrace’.
hehe

Not sure what to tell you. I’ve done this event since the last patch and did not encounter this behavior. There were plenty of centaurs, but it did not look like your screenies. A bug with event scaling? Many (non-participating) players in w/ever area event scaling takes into account?
There were about 5 players present I think. Could indeed be a scaling bug.
~Sincerely, Scissors
EDIT: Ok so apparantly this is working as intended and the event was beefed up to a group event with a daily reward chest. So lets get in there and show those centaurs who’s boss!
I have been doing this event multiple times now, and this event just seems unbeatable. There are just so many centaurs, dozens of veterans and a champ. They completely swarm the place and spam knockdowns/stun so much that no amount of stunbreakers/stability can even keep up.
The objective, apparantly, is to simply prevent the centaurs from capturing the targeted area. So just for the sake of trying this out I decided to take my pvt cantrip bunker ele. I know, not exactly meta, but it’s really good at staying alive, and killing the mobs didn’t seem to do anything anyway, they just respawn, even the ones with the crossed swords icon above their heads.
I managed to stay alive for quite a while until the “centaurs arrive in” timer ran out. Then all the centaurs just circled around the place in a continues stampede (similair to the ones in the Crown Pavilion) that immediately knock you back if you come into contact. How are we supposed to defeat that? You can’t keep your distance and use range attacks because as soon if you leave the targetted area the event fails within 5 seconds (because centaurs capture the square) and you can’t use melee attacks either because they immediately knock you back infinitely.
Seems like a really cheap way of forcing the next event (retake nebo terrace) to be available. Am I doing something wrong here?

I would do the following:
-Replace the traditional expansion model with small meaningless updates and give it a cheesy name, something like: Living Story.
-Dumb down the levelling experience
-Level gate everything
-Add another tier of gear
-Remove the seperate balance between pvp/pve that worked so well in GW1
-Put all new armors in a cash shop
-Allow the gem-gold conversion rate to skyrocket to ridiculous amounts.
Oh wait…
~Sincerely, Scissors
I just hope we actually get a zone each update now, and not a tiny piece of a zone every 2 weeks.

I rarely use it, but that term has been around for a long time.

- Why would you dumb down the content of the race that’s smart by lore?
You should have seen the Asura heartquests during the Beta. You had to do entire mathematical equations to complete them lol.

Is this a feature I MUST have, SHOULD have, COULD have, or DON’T have to have. It’s easy to want everything but difficult to recognize which category something actually falls into for the good of the game in general.
Quality of Life features are never a MUST have. They wouldn’t be QOL features otherwise.
QOL features are by definition nice things to have, but not absolutely necessary.

I see a variety of comments on feeling more attachment to a specific guild and a lot of talk of the # of guilds people are a part of and the fear that is causing a lack of attachment. This lack of attachment keeps players players from being compelled to belong to any of their guilds instead of being compelled to belong to all of them .
With all due respect Mr. Peters,
I believe the ability to join multiple guilds on this game is should not have existed at all. Very simply, it discourages guild loyalty and defeats the entire purpose of joining a guild in the first place.
Guilds are supposed to be a dedicated, close knit group of people. An ideal scenario would be a flourishing, active community in-game AND outside of the game, supported by communication programs such as IRC/forums/voice. The system now? Guilds having half the people not representing. Highly inactive/non-existent offsite interaction. Guilds are typically a hi-bye affair in the game.
People who say “I represent this guild today for WvW, then that guild tomorrow for PvE” – this isn’t how guilds are supposed to work. In my opinion anyway. Guilds are groups where people do different things together – not a “I come as I like” place. People who represent different guilds on different days as and when they like are akin to clan-hoppers.
But obviously, this isn’t just the fault of guild hoppers alone. The guild system design in this game is absolutely sub par – you want people to know as many different groups of people as possible, but do not allow players to participate in the chat of guilds they are not representing. This, to me is the biggest problem about the guild system, because it renders useless the participation of a player, simply because he/she does not know what is happening in other guilds.
I respect your decision to give people the ability to join multiple guilds, but I still believe it was a wrong one.

Oh man you would think a community of video gamers would want to be accepting of others and want new people to game with; so many people here have a god complex or feel they are “better” then others. kitten i wonder what real life problems their overcompensating for by doing these types of things. While I do agree it should be an option or only with your very first toon I think people are forgetting this is a MMO the more people the better……
I have respect for other people and do not think myself above anyone. I genuinely believe that level gating skills is just over the top, nobody needs it. There might be people who don’t mind, but I believe there is no one who actually needs it in order to function properly in this game, or else risk getting overwhelmed. Guild Wars 2 is already known for having so little spells/skills.
~Sincerely, Scissors
What is a “raid” anyway?
Basically a dungeon, but with lots more people. Imagine a really big dungeon, with bosses like tequatl and the 3 headed wyrm. Then you have a raid.
~Sincerely, Scissors
A level gate does not teach player systems. What it does is that it gives you more time to adjust to the systems you have before you get new systems.
Which is not needed at all. If some people get overwhelmed by just 2-6 skills in the beginning of the game then I can’t possibly comprehend how they can call themselves gamers, or why they even play games.
At the very least it should be for new players only.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Colin, just clear up one thing – There is 0% chance EU/NA GW2 gets a VIP system?
We’re absolutely not bringing the China VIP system to NA/EU, correct.
THANK GOD! I’m actually really hyped Anet decided not to do this. Keeps the game a much fairer place and doesn’t priviledge the rich over the poor. Thanks a lot ArenaNet
See what I did there?

Also, please stick to the CDI with things like this. It’s less likely to get missed if you post it in that thread where they are actively discussing things.
Or not.
The CDI is about guilds, I think it’s best to discuss things you don’t want in guilds, outside of the guild CDI.
~Sincerely, Scissors
This isn’t SWTOR.

Is there a reason you think these are coming to gw2? Or are you just expressing you don’t want them?
Probably because of this:
We will be discussing ideas around Guild Raids.

Note that this isn’t a confirmation of anything, Chris just said it’s open for discussion in the CDI. In anet’s own words Nothing is off the table.

My problem is with the level gating on skills, which is actually there and is not something people just assumed.
Level gating on skills + the new trait system is just stupid and keeps me down unecessarily.
Once again, people complain about others ‘assuming things’ by assuming things themselves. Nice try guys.
