If they do make them into audio books, it would be even better to use the GW2 voice actors for the reading!
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
I saw this also when leaving SM last night (Server: Yak’s Bend).
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
I ran into issues opening the door and lighting the torches, but resolved them with a workaround listed on the wiki, which says to clear all the tears and then put them down following the pattern, and if that doesn’t work, put tears on all the panels.
It was bugged in Yak’s Bend, Isle of Janthir and Northern Shiverpeaks.

The best way to level up to 150 is find an insignia/armor piece combo that you haven’t crafted yet, by going through the main crafting list, craft the insignia and 2 sub components for that armor piece, then use discovery to craft that item and you will go over 150. Or, you can skip discovery by buying a karma recipe from the Tailor master that requires minimum Tailor 125, and craft the item that the recipe unlocks (make sure you have the necessary components for it beforehand by checking the wiki, since these karma recipes craft rare items and need more components than the normal discovered recipes).
ETA: Here is a link for one of the recipes you can buy with karma: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Recipe:_Ravaging_Intricate_Wool_Insignia

You do get a small amount of wxp for killing the random mobs that attack supply dolyaks.

The hero panel idea isn’t horrible, thanks Ex and Kari. Though it would only be useful if I knew where they were used, as you can’t search on them specifically.
The alt-bank idea isn’t horrible either, but I’d have to write some things down or start keeping a spreadsheet and try to remember to keep it up to date, or something.
Thanks again.
There is a search bar at the top of the crafting window that you can input ingredients to find what recipes (that you have discovered or have available) they are used in.

The Golden title is achieved at 200 gold/2,000,000 coppers on deposit. Can you show a screen shot of your bank with an account balance of 200 gold? If so, then that would definitely be a bug if the title was not achieved.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
Are you at a crafting station that has one of the maximum two crafts your character has active currently?
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
You can also right-click the trinkets in the hero panel – I gives different options for equiping the item and I think one of them might be to equip the ring in a specific slot.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
It was disabled for now due to an exploit.
I’m curious as to what it was doing.
The new minis are being cheaply mystic forged into exotics, and crashing the exotic mini market. There is a post in dev tracker about this.

This may answer your question … I think you may have to just not park a toon at the dragon, or maybe not kill the same dragon twice in a row using the same toon.

I can enter WvW (Yak’s Bend Borderlands) but get a login error when I try to access the Eternal Battlegrounds (and this follows being disconnected from EBG).

If you want a shortcut to Braham’s instance in NE Wayfarer’s that is slightly faster to get to than from Hoelbrak, head out the Diessa Gate from Black Citadel (NW side) and just run mostly north, slightly west until you reach the Village of Butcher’s Block then run west along that road, which leads to the Foothills. This is also a fast way to reach Frostgorge Sound without using a waypoint.
However, the quickest way to the low level areas of Foothills is the eastern exit from Hoelbrak.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
No regrets at all. I got a long-term goal accomplished, and its fun to shoot enemies with a flowery bow in WvW.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
I have a lvl 2 toon. When I right click on the items in her stash, she only has the buy options and no sell option. I transferred the items to another toon via the bank stash was able to sell. Anyone else having this issue?
Were the items in an invisible bag/box on the lvl 2 toon?
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
All the official jumping puzzles are listed on the jumping puzzle achievement tab on the hero panel.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
The same thing happened to me with both Tequatl and the Shatterer.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
I crafted 40 batches of Ruminant tonics (artificer 200) that require 1 water, 1 pile of radiant dust, 1 slab of red meat and 1 rugged leather section each. I think the recipe is discoverable but am not sure (the wiki doesn’t indicate).
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
So ever since the new patch I’ve run the Fire Elemental, Jormag, Shatterer, Tequatl and the Shadow Behemoth every day and have gotten a multitude of rares from the chest.
After salvaging 30 rares from these chests I have received no ectoplasm at all from these rares.
I crafted 10 rares, bought another 7 rares from COF and bought another 10 rares from the TP and salvaged them and received 43 ectoplasm from them.
I was wondering if anyone else was noticing not getting ectoplasm from the rares from the chests specifically? Or is this some seriously strange RNG?
I’ve averaged about an ecto per salvage from the world event rares.
Since no one else yet has asked:
1) What level are these rares? (presumably the Jormag rares are high enough level, but the others will scale down to your level so if they are < level 68 they won’t yield ectos-those I throw into the forge or equip on my alts)
2) What kind of salvage kit are you using? RNG is RNG, I use the mystic salvage kit for good odds and low cost per use relatively speaking.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
Had you done it more than once? They changed all of those chests to once a day, ostensibly in trade for slightly better drops (not that I’ve seen any such thing)
I have! Seems to be 1 rare minimum now …
Though 3 or 4 is a crappy sample size.I was hoping this is the case but then I didn’t get any rares from Megadestroyer, so while the chances are higher it’s not 100%
From what I hear, the guaranteed rare is for level 80 players only. This seems to be the case from my experience since the patch.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
Just a quick note—I said the odds of it dropping was closer to .005 than the 1 in a million or so that was tossed out. Those aren’t the exact odds, but if my math is correct, 10 players running the event every day might expect one staff to drop after about 7 months. (And we haven’t been out that long.)
Jeff didn’t say the odds are .5% or 1/200. He said they were closer to that than 1/1,000,000.
Assuming that he is referring to level 80 players to get the best possible chest loot also, not underlevelled, and assuming the use of the word “might” indicates basically a coin-toss/50% chance in his above time frame and 10 players/1 attempt per day to avoid DR/213 days, 2130 attempts gives a 50% chance, so the odds would be 1/4260 for a level 80 player to obtain this item if his math is correct.

That’s a cool idea, and maybe instead of just fighting the HUMAN god’s temples, they could fight the Norn spirits or Charr “gods” – the titans if they are still around. Especially since there are Norn and Charr areas with those level difficulty.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
Thieves as mentioned above, and Rangers with barrage/traps can tag many mobs easily, and move quickly with speed-boosting signets.
I also found that the Asura skill Radiation Field is useful as well.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
This thread makes me realize just how little gold I have. I have 2 rare GS and couple of armor pieces in the bank collecting drops to eventually put in MF.
So do you guys that put exotics in just do a pure exotic (4 of them at once) or do you mix the exotics with the rares (1 exotic + 3 rares)? Just curious since I haven’t tried it yet.
EDIT: forgot to ask … which is the cheapest rare GS to create to throw in? I finally have weaponsmithing at 400
You can’t mix exotics and rares in the mystic forge – either throw in 4 rares or 4 exotics.
Also, you can craft rares at Weaponsmith 375 using Mithril imbued inscriptions that you can buy recipes for at the master weaponsmith. All the tier 5 fine material buy prices are about the same on the auction house so they will all cost roughly the same to craft.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
I just did this story step on 2 level 38’s, and was able to avoid most of the mobs on the way to the Whispers cave by going a bit west to the bridge that leads to the fort on Stormbluff Isle, then crossing it and circling back around to the east, only encountering a couple of marsh drakes which I was able to just run past. There are no enemies in the cave itself, except for the skill point challenge.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
Yeah, the human calls someone “skritt-heads” then says, “no offense.”
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
You can get ectos from rares as well as exotics (level 68+ per the wiki).
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
In terms of WOT lore, there are probably 2 choices for profession.
1. Elementalist, for the Battle of Dumai’s Wells scene with the Asha’man using the rolling ring of earth and fire to destroy the Aiel. And Asha’man are traditional strong in earth and fire, 2 of the 4 elementalist attributes. Eles can use a dagger/focus combo (pretend the dagger is a mini-sword and the focus is an angreal).
2. Asha’man in the old tongue translates to guardian, and guardians can use swords. Though not too many Asha’man have actually had sword fight scenes, except for Rand.
Human would be the best choice since all the Asha’man were human. As for specific builds besides what is above, I would take a look at the different trait lines – I haven’t played enough with Elementalist or Guardian to be that familiar with those classes yet.
ETA: Cool thoughts on Asha’man mesmer by above poster!

Make sure they aren’t in a bag that blocks selling items like a safe box.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
The trading post already shows how many people have items listed (but not how many by each). But I don’t see how knowing who is selling something is helpful. Anyway, in a sense, Anet is buying the item from the seller, holding it in escrow, and selling it to you, to prevent fraud. And the anonymity keeps players from skirting the trading post to contact the seller directly to buy via email and possibly get defrauded.

Are you on Tarnished Coast? Apparently, these animals are used by RP’ers, and are generated by a bug with the Ogre Pet Whistle.

Happy Wintersday!
From the five cities and Tixx’s gift, you end up with 700 mystical cogs, which is an unusual number because you need 750 to be able to make three toys. I was just wondering if there is a way to get the other 50 mystical cogs to make a third toy. I haven’t done the Toypocalypse dungeon yet as I’m waiting to do it later today with some friends, so if it attainable there, then please let me know!
Also, is there a way to get another 250 Wads of Enchanted Stuffing or Drops of Magic Glue for the third toy? I have enough Wads of Enchanted Stuffing to make three toys but only enough Drops of Magic Glue to make two toys.
Glue can be purchased in the Trading Post (as well as Stuffing).
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
If you turn on combat messages in the chat box, you can see exactly what kind of attack was used to damage you and for how much.
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
You can add recipes for crafts that you haven’t unlocked – you can then go ahead and talk to the weaponsmith master to add that (though you have to turn off one of your other crafts since you can only have 2 active at a time).
Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion
The siege weapon should automatically despawn after a while of non-use. I’ve seen this done on my server as well at several vistas but I was still able to view them by shifting around a bit to get the view option.

/bow from this Bender to all the Emry’s who observed a fragile cease-fire in the central jp – and letting me follow them to learn the path. And apologies to the Emry who I accidentally singed when trying to lit a bon-fire in the dark room and respect for not getting aggroed.

Dear Mighty Toymaker Tixx,
Surely it would be in your great power to grant these humble boons to a dedicated warrior who has battled great odds to rise from Legionnaire to Commander in a mere month, slaying many of your foes along the way:
A silver bow that shoots silver arrows
A juvenile siege devourer to tame
A shrinking ray to help me better navigate jumping puzzles
Catlike grace to use in jumping puzzles
Yet softer ground than I currently have to use in jumping puzzles while making unplanned landings
Sincerely,
Birgitte Silver Bow, Charr Ranger of the Iron Legion

AFAIK, the Pact Rally Waypoint in Triumph Plaza is never contested (it is in a Pact-controlled cave near the vista and Dwayna SP). I think it is just north of where the giant patrols.

I remember using this weeks ago, the effect goes by quickly. According to the wiki, it is from Chieftain Seegor in Degun Shun of Blazeridge Steppes (ogre area in the NE) after doing an event to help them gather water. I think you can get the same effect (randomly) from the box of fun found in the gem store or from the daily achievements reward.
