Okay first time I did map completion On Vb got some rewards along a legendary piece of material that I assume we need this to craft the new Legendaries. I’ve run my warrior on the same map but after completion no reward. Is this intended Anet?

The map that I was in did T5 all boss dead not sure if every one got it but lots spamming on map for bladed chest. It was a good run though.

Gear check, inspects etc are the bane of MMO’s. They go against the spirit of teamwork and cooperation.

The complaint is that gear should not be what will lock people out, skill is. What could happen based on other experiences is

- vet players of skill without ascended will be locked out
- new players of skill wont be attracted to grinding a gear before coming to GW2 or trying the raid
- unskilled players will be locked out and wont have the chance to improve themselves by trying and failing the raid, but want to keep trying.

We know these “gear check” will occur, because precedent is set in other games and it already occurs here in some areas.

Players asked for challenging content based on skill, and much discussion has been had about not requiring BIS gear.

I absolutely agree with them adding challenging content which is for the top tier player, but the gaining of ascended is not hand in hand with being a top tier player and so other players shutting them out because of it is absolutely the wrong direction and should not be encouraged. Especially by a dev.

Raids are raids you don’t join one if you are under geared/skill. Newbies can hone their skills in other parts of the game and get prepared. Again, raids is to cater hardcore players and as written above they need BIS and skills to join one.

Yes in Gw1 we have build template. You access hero panel then load your build along with gear then boom you are ready to go. Thats why many veterans were surprised that this didn’t make it GW2 should have been a part of the game since release but unfortunately we are still in request phase and all they can say is “we agreed”.

We didn’t want any of this. GW2 is a dynamic game unlike any other because it requires that fast twitch reactionary play. If we wanted to face tank and heal, we’d play something else.

Pushing the trinity is lazy and unoriginal—two things I don’t tend to think of when I’m talking about GW2 content. There’s no innovation here.

So, on my first character, I am trying to find the fun in the combat system. I’m really struggling. I rolled a Charr Thief.

1. The rune/skill/weapon system in the game seems incredibly counter-intuitive. I’m sure this problem will go away when I learn the game — are there any meaningful tutorials that assumes the system makes no sense and explains everything?

2. Going by the few ability slots, rotation doesn’t seem complex. In fact, it seems extremely casual. However, the system mixes in action elements like dodging which appear to be necessary in order not to die. To me, Wildstar is a joke because it is too action-oriented — is GW2 going to be plagued with the same problem?

3. Thiefs. I understood going into this game really doesn’t have a stealth class, but so far I just don’t see how this character is going to go out ganking anything if the opponent sees you coming a mile away. Escapes seems powerful though…is Thief really just for trolling?

4. Voice acting. It’s….atrocious. Maybe my expectations have been too heavily skewed by WoW and SWTOR, but is there some way to listen to my character in battle without cringing? Do you just become desensitized to it? Are there other races with better voice acting? kitten .

Did anyone actually expect the precursor crafting to be fast, easy or cheap? its an option. Buy, RNG or craft. They reasonably should be about the same cost in gold or time to get or one way will be used and the others ignored.

Agree! for me the new method is fair work slowly but surely if they still complain well wow! and even if you throw a couple of hundred gold its fine cause your surely get it rather throwing it in the toilet and get nothing.

They already responded on that. On a interview a couple on months back Colin said that they are not working on that at the moment, but they would like too. So the chance is about zero that it will be in the expansion.

Now, before you go and yell at me and throw tomatoes. Here me out.

The damage of Mobs is way too high at the moment, especially on the vets, elites, and champs.

Now, testing in zerker I thought “yeah, i have no defenses, course I’m gonna die fast.” But then I thought, huh, well, if that’s true, then I should be able to live more easily in Toughness gear at least.

Boy was I wrong.

I went with warrior Defense/Tactics/Strength, shout heals, healing regen, etc. Just went straight up as much survivability I could grab. Then i took soldier’s gear. Heals would be crap, but I got my hp and toughness. Dolyak runes. The celestial food buff. Dolyak signet.

Armor: 3605 if I get retaliation, 4005 if reviving and have retaliation.
HP: 33,170

Now, going against normal mobs not from events, or a defense event where maybe a few vets at a time, sure, you’re gonna brush that stuff off easily. I don’t think I got below half hp.

But when you get to the big event chains, final event chains with a champ or Unique?

It. Doesn’t. Matter.

The Boss is gonna destroy you if you don’t dodge his attacks, while dodging his elite minion’s attacks at the same time too, and then the 3-4 vets, etc. You are gonna go down in 2-3 hits. Defenses don’t matter.

Now, I am going to repeat that. Soloing stuff, the armor is doing its job. I’m basically untouchable as long as I don’t pull too many vets (the poison frogs to be exact). But when i get into the event chains, there is no point. I’m going to go down just as fast as that other person in full zerk, which makes ME the weak chain of the group, because I can’t deal damage.

So, let me say this:

Making mobs difficult, is fine. Hitting a bit harder, sure. different mechanics, fine. I like how the poison arrow frogs work, and the one that slams into the ground, and so on. These are interesting to watch out for, and if you don’t, you will die. The difference is, when you get to the bigger group event stuff, it goes from fun and difficult, to absurd. When it goes to that level, defenses doesn’t matter, it becomes again “kill fast”.

So, yes. Damage in group events need to take a look at. Maybe the scaling is too high, maybe mobs are spawning too much, who knows? But at the moment, if I want to do a major event chain, go zerk.

I don’t know about you but i was soloing an Elite spider along with some vets with my revenant. But its true that some mobs can destroy you if you’re not careful but i also preferred that way so this time we cant ignore trash mobs anymore and take them lightly.

Nahhh…they’re ok, fun and exciting. Just dodge and step out of his circle you’ll be fine. if you’re already complaining about this mob imagine the mobs inside raid so deal with it!

Back at launch the frequency of the starter zones was higher. This allowed us to not worry so much about the hearts and vistas and get bored. Perhaps it might be a good idea to increase the frequency of the events so players don’t get bored from hearts.

They had to decreased it. Back in launch events became farm fest due to its fast spawn specialy in lvl 80 areas. Now it’s more balanced imo.

With the introduction of Legendary weapons and armor, the players that don’t craft still find themselves in the shadows, waiting and hoping for something they will never be able to acquire.

So i ask you ant, please provide some form so that the non-crafter can still earn a legendary weapon/armor set.

So you mean to say that we max our crafting discipline, spend time amd gold so we can make leggies and then you want an easy way out of crafting? Wow! Why dont you just ask Anet to give you Legendaries straight away instead? Nice huh?

I don’t mind after HoT, as long as they have not forgotten it at least there’s something to look forward to.

Buy the XPAC! So whats the problem? Can you watch a movie without a movie ticket? NO! Like in GW1 there are some skills that you cant use unless you have the xpac bought and etc….. Not sure about GW2 though, So buy Xpac support Anet and everybody’s happy.

ya know op… some people play gw2 to basically escape everything you just listed. For me personally its these….armor designs. If thats plate armor then im granny smith. Cept…maybe 2-3 sets in the vid all these armors looks like a light armor…or something light armor like, not like they are ugly or something but they are really not gw..cept some designs that really look mesmer to me. The gliding we get may or may not be an afterthought..but its a mechanic for a few maps and most likely meant to get used to traverse the extremely vertical designs we gonna get and to avoid that all 3 seconds some of us lemmings falls of the cliffs and to his\her certain doom…just watch the HoT trailer, whats shown is vertical to the max. Grinding? Yea right.. lets not do that. I played aion quite some time ago…made myself a gladiator and had one of these big halberd thingies. Looked like a cool game but that grind was mindnumbing… i played for about a week and i saw 1 greatsword drop, zero new armors and i think i made it to lvl 20…after fighting the same darn tribe of hamster people (heck i dunno anymore how they where called) for days on end….so yea if you propose to make aion wars 2 i gonna tell ya… nope. Want a grind? Make a legendary and dont cheat (aka dont buy the precursor or the mats you need for it)

Don’t talk to me about Legendaries I have 5 of them and sold 3 in tp and buying prec in tp is cheating? Lol! Its either you dont know how the game works or you’re new to the game. Smartest way to make legendary is to farm gold and buy prec rather than burning it to mystic toilet. Im also a long time fan of GW1 and GW2 but recently burned out with GW2 after playing a long time. Playing Aion NA atm and kinda enjoying It ex. Flying and grinding It feels nice sometimes. Anyway let me point out what im expecting in the incoming expac.

Gliding and wind stream system. Please make sure if your going to do this it will be better than Aion they have the similar system for alternative way of travel and its amazing….take a look.

ARMOR designs. Lets face it GW2 armor sets has horrible designs but you can make it right in the expac. I dunno why Aion like games have superb armor designs? Its the designer that lacks imagination? If this game are all about cosmetics then be the best! Not comparing but just an example. Just have a look.

Lastly, please add a litte grinding (skins, skills etc ) cause sometimes it feels nice when you finally got what you want by grinding for it. And oh please make the new skills animation look cooler I know you want this guys… and finally add a UI for cons makes our life easier.
