So i like to “walk” places. And i noticed the walking animation can be different depending on whether or not you have your weapon drawn.

Just wanted to ask around the community to see if anyone was bothered by the Male Sylvari Walk when you DO have a weapon drawn.

I think it just looks wrong with a greatsword… seems a little crooked if you catch my drift.

Anyone else notice this?

Once food and oil starts coming into the equation it gets pretty crazy.

Pick up a PTV weapon. Most people are still bandwagoning the Beserker stat stuff thinking you can only do dps with those weapons but unless ur a glass cannon or a thief the PTV stats on weapons are the best “bang” for your buck.

I think they keep the soulbound on it so you dont mail Siege to someone in the middle of defending.

There was some point a few days ago where EB managed to gain big lead in point income and maintained it for quite a few hours. So I am sure EB can do it more often if playing more strategically more often.

I agree mayhem is fun, though. I remember at one time, EB took YB’s garrison. Mag tried to take it from EB and managed to get into lord’s room. YB took that chance to rush all the way in and “snatched” it from Mag, before it’s flipped.

We definitely have the force.

But if i had to make an explaination for Ehmrys disapperance in WvW. I’d just say we’re tired :/

We have 2 groups. Our Siegers and our Slayers. Not that they dont do a bit of everything but there are players (like the one that frequent these forums) that are very siege and objective focused players. And i respect that!

Our serious siegers have gotten tried. Too keep up with the higher populations of CD and YB (and even Mag can usually bring a bigger force then us) those siegers have been putting on a 110%, and god bless em for it! But eventually everyone gets burned out. And they did. And they deserve a nice break We’ll be back. Weekends are usually good for us.

Then theres the bloodthirsty side of Ehmry Bay. Where we love to just battle. Can’t spell Slaughter without Laughter am i right? We’re usually supporting the siegers (grabing their backs, holding the lines or running supplies) but without them we’ll just go roam your borderlands and cause trouble. Wipe your zergs and push you back to keeps and siege, then feign weakness and bait you back to try and farm you some more. And plus, it frustrates the hell outta you guys to have EB come up from outta no where.

Theres even a picture up of a Mag Commander telling us, Ebay, to go attack YB somewhere else… I mean we LOL at that kinda stuff. I mean come on now… Your complaining to the enemy because they’re doing something you wouldnt expect, even if it isnt “productive”.

I believe you can target someone and just do /invite or /join while they are targeted and it’ll send to that invader/defender

Well we’ve got a fairly large WvW presence, but we aren’t all the same. You get ur emotionally sensative hardcores just like anywhere else.

Some of us are just in it for the intense battles, the zerg battlers. We die sometimes, sure, almost always outnumbered. And in the middle of the night i just wanna have fun. I dont wanna sneak around an enemy BL and cap stuff until they bring their 50man zerg to rush us.

And come on, dont tell me it isnt awesome to see blue and green dukeing it out for a while… only to have red coming in charging like the Mongols and clean up the battlefield for a couple minutes.

I dont speak for everyone in WvW or the Ehmry Bay Server. Just some of the [FTF].

On a side note however… I’ll be setting up Fight Club for tonight. Im on from 6:30 PST, msg me with your server, if you’ll be bringing others or not (or coming with a guild), and i’ll set up a safe-ish stop to fight

So yesterday a bunch of us were really bored, since we didnt have much to do after Mags golem rush which took Bay but failed at garisson. EB started having presnce in YBBL [FTF], being sick of these guys always coming to our BL we said screw it and go to EBBL. We Ninja’d Bay. Then decided to build golems cause we dont like to work too hard. This was the outcome

Main reason we did it was we were really kitten off red coming to our BL constantly, when you attack a team with greater force than you, you are only making your elevation to go down and asking for a fight. Think smart. We’ve had your Overlook in eb for pasr 3-4 days lol. What the hell. If attacking YBBL and eb isnt effective attack Mags BL lol. You have a strong oceanic presence which clearly hasn’t made you better but worse. Clearly Mag is taking advantage of your borderland as they always have your hills keep. Hang in there though don’t give up.

I just find it hilarious that you guys care so much about the server thats getting 2v1’d. And im not even complaining, i like it when enemies are abundant. I just dont like going up against fortified walls at 1 in the morning

The projectiles you cast out eat up the dmg.

If your casting out projectiles that dont hit anything, its completely wasted dmg.
WW needs to be hit dead-on since its a very mutli-hit type attack.

It has the ability to crit on individual strikes instead of, for example, Mighty Blow that focuses its dmg into a single strike. Because of the projectiles and the random critting it can be a wild card.

But yes the auto-attack (especially a triple crit) will most likely end up trumping the WW in total dmg.

Im not exactly sure on ur definition of “linker” and “move canceling”

In terms of “Linker” i would say that JI is a one.

the JI+WW combo combined with 10% dmg on burning foes trait is beast. I cast WW a halfsecond (maybe even less because i do keybind) and teleport on my target spinning. I still racked up 4k+ WWs.

This isnt street fighter tho, there are no super moves into lead up too. Its pure rotation fluidity, dodge timing, and clutch-moment skill activation(blinds, immoblize, stuns, and stun-breakers). I can cast Mighty Blow, WW, RoW, Smite Condition(untraited), Binding Blade, and all sorts of other moves while teleporting.

The same way an Elementalist uses Blink + Churning Earth and it doesnt break channeling.

But in terms of move canceling?… i havent had my JI cancel my moves before. Personally i dont use Leap of Faith with JI because its a waste of 2 movement skills at once. So maybe it has to do with the interaction between 2 movement based skills.

So you guys are not going against a server that out numbers you or anything. How about this eBay we been at it for so long lets take out the next server that goes against us and then we go to battle. Hiding in the invuln areas is dumb, but its even dumber to chase someone back there. You can’t do anything from those spots except wait anyway. Might as well just be part of the spawn area, except its at the bottom of the hill instead of top.

Speaking of low behavior, I’ve seen a lot of AltF4ers getting the most out of it that they can before that little practice is put to bed here tomorrow. And notice its always the roamers that do it.

as a roamer myself. Im constantly surprised that players who deem themselves “good enough” to solo roam are Alt+f4ing.

If your good enough to solo roam, you should be making more money then losing it on repair bills.

I love seeing the people who complain that this game is dying.

And then finding out their regular forum posters scanning every thread on the website.

Its an intensive game that needs a good comp. If you DC in WvW you should die.

Just because im running around chasing you, manage to down you, and you either DC or Alt+f4. I still deserve my loot/xp.

If you have problems with DC/Connection problems i would think you’d want to try and fix that first before WvWing and complaining about feature that helps balance the game.

This isnt about just one person and his computer or how it cant handle it, its about everyone in WvW and what actually is fair to the majority.

Alt+F4 is the “easy button” for players who are too cheap to pay a measly repair bill. They’re a disgrace and a stain on this game.

If you Alt+F4 in battle, personally, i cant wait for you to start paying that repair bill. You deserve it.

Power > Precision.

We get decent stacking of power through our weapon abilities and skills.

Guardians more about sustained dmg anyways and power works off your crit but still have a big effect with out crit. While crit is completely dependent on power

Edit: Didnt see the spirit weapon part, dont know if it does/doesnt scale with power or prec. I dont use spirit weapons. But what i said before applys to melee/normal combat with weapons.

It was fun maguuma, thanks for the entertainment, and good battles.

Held it for more then 30mins+ only until the trebs and ballistas being built up to keep up your offensive and push farther forward.

I’m not flaming or agreeing, or disagreeing with what you’re trying to explain. I’m saying you don’t really have to explain it, since most of us already understand the activity, it’s not a far out idea that only a select few understand, most people on the thread are simply stating, who cares?

Sometimes, I prefer to run those groups with pickups, since they’re not totally into themselves so they get going right away and don’t rage so harshly whenever they fail, they just jump right back into it or call it day. I don’t have all day to stand around waiting for an elaborate plan that takes longer to explain then to execute. There are some solid guild groups who just go out and make a mess and run at a pace I can appreciate, and who don’t over think it.

I, good sir, have made no mention to this “Stuff” in which you speak of! Blasphemies i say!

As far as ur last part, somtimes you can have good players who can handle themselves in a 5man group, meet em randomly running around WvW. But its trying to strive from being the 5 people playing 5 different classes doing their thing, fighting like they’re fighting for tags on mobs, then the 5 people who work around each other, coordinating dps, calling targets, a fighting like a single unit.

Yes people do over think it, i’ve had that problem. Practice makes perfect tho and eventually becomes second nature.

The 5 man kill-squads and those who choose to run them do serve a purpose. But only if they have a second team or siege team that their supporting and coordinating with.

Its always been a combined effort. A siege team would get overrun and pushed back with supreme defense. And a kill squad always gets to the point where they’re in over their head.

Yes a kill-squad will not rack up your servers total points. Some of us aren’t concerned with that, we want blood :P Epic battles, rivalries even amongst other guilds (i think its healthy and fun) but the smart kill-squads coordinate. They offer support in their own bloody way throwing up swords and grabbing attention. If you see a kill-squad that u recognize, chances are, theres something more important going on somewhere… i just doubt they’d let you get there.

As far as boasting or trying to act big. That wasnt my intention. I only meant to offer another view point in which to look upon kill-squads with.

For the last time: Stopping your enemy from getting where they want to go (i.e. ganking) DOES ADVANCE MAP GOALS. Not if everyone does it all the time, but if a few people do so, it lets the balance of the population achieve those objectives easier.

In other words: people are presenting a false dichotomy here, roaming gank squads are not mutually exclusive with accomplishing strategic goals.

In the big scheme of things, roaming gank squads don’t advance map goals that much at all. However a 5-man that decides to take camps/dolyaks as their goal can be effective.

I disagree.

If you have a siege team of 20 people attacking a keep (usually supported by the PUGs that come around so its safe to say 20+) thats defended by only 5-10 people, a 5 man team can prevent reinforcements from supporting that defense by choke-holding a common enemy “traffic” spot.

They can even hold of for long period at a time. I’ve survived against zergs of 10-15 against 5 for about 10-20min (depending on tactical advantage of the area around u an also enemy skill). That 10-20 minutes of 15 invaders not actually defending, not actually doing anything, but trying to kill us. Thats actually doing alot of good.

15 invaders are now not contributing and are useless in the fight against the invaders sieging down ur keep.

I run a kill-squad in my guild FTF. Our main objective is to cause Chaos. Break enemy coordination. Instill fear, and disorganization.

You may eventually get the better of us, but thats only after you’ve aquired an enormously high advantage in players over us, and by that time we’ve done our job distracting well enough to provide an opportunity of less resistance for the siege teams to have to deal with.

Thats the point of a kill-squad.

Jeez whats with all the hate on people who run kill-squads? Half of this game is Players fighting other players. More so toe-to-toe then just PvDooring or using Siege.

Who cares if they want to sharpen up their skills on actual Player Vs Player.

[OG] has got my respect. I had an awesome battle with them north of south supply camp, in the area between the two spawns, on Yaks Bend BL last night. Just because they specialize in ganking and hunting and wouldnt rather care to siege doesnt mean they dont bring a very good element to their servers advantage.

All i see are players complaining when they do get interrupted/ganked like it somehow “Cheap”, “underhanded”, or some how shows a lack of skill. When in fact its usually quite the opposite. People will complain of cheap tactics or gimmicks but really its just a good stomping from someone whos spent time/thought into their ability.

Hoping to see more skill players out there too in the next couple days. Immensely enjoying it

Honestly, I don’t mind the lodestones – and I’m working on a Bolt, for crying out loud. I just get the cores piece by piece and combine them into stones. Already finished 13 Lodestones worth.

The badges were suuuper easy for me, i had the 500 i needed in the first week of me being 80, but i was a srs WvWer and played with a strike team that was specifically built to wipe zergs (or die trying) and we’d often get too many bags to actually pick up.

The lodestones is what killed me. 300g worth almost of lodestones. Ugh… I just dont want to go back to that.
