Now with this, do they mean like.. A Gadget based Healing Skill for Engineers? Or a Spectral based Healing Skill for Necromancers ect? If so this could be very interesting indeed, I hope this is more than just some silly racial Heal and something that could potentially put some synergy into some of these unused Traits/Utilities.

It’s my personal opinion But being strictly a PvP player, I do not want to, nor should I have to PvE in order to “unlock” More skins. Particularly if I’m only going to use them in PvP. This feels counterintuitive to me, why would I want to kill scripted NPC’s so that I can Achieve my goals in PvP. Curious as to why there isn’t a way to access all Skins from the PvE world in PvP during the events duration there should simply be a way to work towards it in a different way.
For example: Unlock a PvP Halloween Skin during the Halloween event by using the PvP Halloween Finisher X times.
I wanted the Gas Mask so bad, but I have a very limited schedule and don’t particularly want to be forced into a “grind” where I must play content I don’t enjoy. No offense to anyone because GW2 is a beautiful game. But I feel like I summed it up earlier when I said it just feels counterintuitive. If Gold is being normalized why can’t all Skins during their respective window be as well…. Food for thought I suppose.

Engis in downstate is one of the most helpless classes so if you can get him down, its a free kill.
Better not kill this class xy because that down state is so OP? Cmon that’s definitly not a reason.
Unless xy=Ranger. In which case it’s better to focus some other profession than to die trying to finish them in downed state for the third time.

Very fascinating hearing such different opinions on what direction Utility Goggles should go, and to be honest the only reason I’m “picking on” this utility skill first is simply because after experimenting with every skill available to the Engineer in PvP I find this one near the top of my list. Usually it’s difficult for me to ponder a completely unbiased improvement to a skills functionality out of fear of taking it over the top but with the recent CC obsession in PvP I found it easy to justify a unused Utility In attempts to bring it up to-eventually a Kits level. Currently the stun breakers we have are limited with few synergistic traits and weapon skill set ups to warrant not taking Elixir S or Elixir Gun, even Toss Elixir B is more effective particularly when you know after you break out of the first stun.. A second will follow, then a third. (Hammer Warriors)
25% increased damage against a foe is a little much in my opinion. In fact it’s not a damage increase that I feel is needed with this particular Utility Skill. It.. Well the Utility, it lacks any aside from the Quick Blind immunity which is great, but more times than not the thief is simply shadow stepping behind you causing your Overcharged Shot/Net shot not to miss but to simply go on Cooldown if your not attacking while standing prone. The blindness immunity has it functions for Thief’s yes, but what of warriors and guardians and Rangers who have access to a painfully long duration Stability on a very generous Cooldown.
And as much as I dislike the stealth reset from Thief’s, giving Utility Goggles the ability to reveal ect is a little much I feel. We have many cleaving moves that will hit them regardless taking away 1 of their sparse survivability mechanics would be like taking away Gear Shield for us. This is all of course just my opinion from my experiences.
I am not, however opposed to some condition removal. Although I feel Utility Goggles current function (Seeing how it grants 10% increased damage on a foe) is for power based uses but with the way this meta is currently if your not being Condition spammed than you are being CCed by a Hammer Warrior. (I know, broken record.) so I couldn’t really say no.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
I can tell immediately if the engineer in the skirmish is skilled. If so I take him/her out first particularly because, being an Engineer I know how devastating it can be for my team if I let them go unchecked. Essentially I always terminate the maximum threat in any confirmation. After that I tend to the other oppositions.
It’s nothing personal in fact it should be a compliment to be killed first.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
(The following is simply my opinion and comes completely from a PvP Rank 50 point of view.)
Utility Goggles has an excessive cool down for its effect. Granted Blind immunity has its applications it’s impractical to fully utilize that immunity when it last for merely 10 seconds. (Not that you can’t)
My proposition is simple, keep everything the same but now Activating Utility Goggles removes Stability from your target.
I feel, that with the recent improvement to Toss Elixir B granting much needed Stability to the engineer profession every 30-23 seconds if traited, this justifies having a stun breaker and a Boon removal on a 40 second cool down. This would open up versatility within the Gadget skill line in the sense that you would have to gauge weather to break a stun or remove someone’s stability with out competing for Elixir B’s functionality. This change would warrant the use of Gadgets in other builds as well as creating an innovative mechanic.
Perhaps if gadgets had more utility within themselves they might become more appealing as apposed to Kits or Elixirs.
Thoughts?

I for one, would love a External Back Pack powered Chainsaw Kit.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
I just assumed they were going to make new Utility skills that would fill in the gaps that the current skills/traits lacked. It’s hard to change existing skills without there being an enormous amount of wining and player backlash.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
I propose simply normalizing character Size.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
I like downed state. I just think some are better than others. Perhaps if they shaved some of the Rangers superior downed state mechanics and distributed it amongs the other lacking Professions. For example: Engineer.
Unless of course the intent of the Engineer downed state is to die faster and quickly respawn. In which case I would propose making Booby Trap Do increased damage but kills the Engineer flat out.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
It’s apparently common for most players to feel that way, but I assure you they are very efficient and effective at what they do, which is a little bit of everything. They have their short comings, one of them just happens to be a high learning curve and a strict demand for understanding not just Other Profession mechanics but the basic game mechanics as well. In short: I would consider it an advanced Profession.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
It was the same for me, I loved the very concept of an actual “Engineer” in a fight with such opponents as a Necromancer and a Warrior, I envisioned so many devices and gizmos and… Well gadgets that would be required to ‘realistically’ contend with such opponents. Combo’s like covering someone with oil then burning them, or deploying multiple explosives around the field then attaching a magnet to your opponent as to pull all the small bombs inwards towards them!…sigh I apologize! I’m dreaming yet again.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
Poor Gadgets.. Sure wish I could make a viable/competitive Gadget Build. And I love Static Discharge but I’d like a Build that uses Gadgets for the Creative Utility, not Spam Damage.
Good thoughts though, at least among my Engineer friends I’m sure most of your points are unanimous!
But I disagree with Elixir U. I always thought it should give you Quickness, 3 stacks of Might And Protection for 6 seconds then when those effects expire you should get Cripple, Weakness and Vulnerability for 6 Seconds. Makes for a better high risk high reward in a unique way.
Pistol does need some Love no disputing that, specifically the off Hand, Glue Shot’s projectile travels painfully slow and is very unrewarding even when managing a direct hit. I think making it a field that continuously applies a 1 second immobilize to those that stay inside or pass through would be enough to make it worth it as your only defensive measure. Or, your could keep the slow projectile speed and make it be a unique combo field that provides immobilizing projectiles to those who shoot through it.
And Rifle’s Blunderbuss needs to have its pinnacle damage range increased slightly, while also making it a “PBOE”.
But Pertaining to Turrets, I feel, should always be immobile, And should not be indestructible. I do think they should have the ability to body block like every other pet/minion/clones and I think you should be able to Overcharged and Detonated from downed state.
I don’t feel Turrets that have a reasonable range should have increased life. However Turrets that have a minimal attack range should. And the Cool Downs on all turrets should be reduced again.
And this has been mentioned before but I would completely love a rework of the pick up mechanic.
For example:
Walking near your deployed Turret and pressing the interact key would give you a 3/4 second cast then you would physically carry your turret, replacing your weapon Skills with a single skill: Fire.
This would allow you to fire your turret like an environmental weapon with a reasonable attack speed. Your Tool Belt skill would remain as Detonate and your Utility Skill would remain as Overcharge which when activated would cause your shots to be Overcharged for its duration/ammo. Additionally While being held your Turret cannot be harmed.
There could be a whole smorgasbord of innovative traits and combos that could be utilized if this was implemented.
For Example:
Like a trait to slowly repair the turret being held, or where 50% of damage you take is divided amongst your turret that is being held.
Innovative changes like these would make the game more involved as opposed to number tweaking. This is of course, just my opinion.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
As NevirSayDie said, I shudder to think about the toiling, mind numbing process that balancing the Engineer would require if given a weapon/Kit slot. Not to mention the enormous player backlash.
My opinion is that they need to make specific Utility Skills/Traits more versatile as to make up for our lack of Weapon options, More Specifically Gadgets and Turrets. Currently you lose to much utility when not taking a Kit into PvP. Perhaps if they made synergistic traits with unused Utility skills, while giving these skills multiple applications for example: The trait Cleansing Formula 409 makes Elixirs cure conditions, this gives a simple skill like Elixir B even more functionality! This coupled with a Tool Belt skill can help justify the lack of an alternative weapon. Because essentially by taking that one trait you turned one Skill into a Swiss Army knife with multiple applications!
This is why I feel the answer lies not in additional weapon/Kit bar but within the Skills and traits that pale in comparison to the versatility and multi-purposes of Kits.
Giving these lacking mechanics a make over is what, in my opinion would create some incentive for playing a strait Turret Engineer or a Gadget Engineer which is what I would desperately like to do! Instead of having the feeling of being required to use a Kit

I wish it could be just as simple as: “Use the Toxic Finisher X amount of times to get the PvP Gas Mask. This item cannot be used in WvW or PvE” and just have a Legendary PvP chest that can be purchased at any rank but costs a large amount of Glory. I wouldn’t even care if its random. And When breaking down a PvP Legendary item you have a small chance to get Gems among other menial PvP items.
I only suggest this out of simplicity, for the majority of PvP players are already comfortable with these kind of mechanics not to mention they have already been developed.
Heh but I’ll take whatever I can get!
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
Possible reasons why they don’t allow this content in PvP:
1)To keep the sPvP player base divided from the WvW and PvE Player base.
2)To try and encourage players to leave the Mists and Experience the living world content.
3)To try and make certain Skins feel more exclusive thus more rewarding.
4)In an attempt to stimulate the Auction House economy through the trade of Limited Skins and/or Materials needed to craft them.
Flaws I can see with the above mentioned mentalities:
1)It was an excellent idea to separate GW2 into a competitive game and a non-competitive game in one! particularly when it is so seamless to dive into one another. However, the big dispute in PvP aside from the Matchmaking issues (which is currently being addressed) is the reward system. I agree keeping them seperate 100% and being able to “/rank” in the PvE is enough of a cross over. But that’s my point they’r seperate.. Why limit the potential reward selection after earning it in PvP if your not demeaning the people who earned it in PvE? Because both sides of the game are earning it in a means that interest them.. That appeal to them. So my point: is I agree, keep the earnings separated to each respective game mode but allow access to all aesthetic items because they do not effect one another.
2)The PvE World is very well articulated and enthralling so I’m certainly not speaking for everyone when I say that I just don’t usually like fighting against scripts it’s not as dynamic as struggling against another player who is trying to survive just as you are. So essentially there’s nothing short of PvE Dueling that would bring me into the PvE world.. That being said I detest unfair playing fields where the winner is determined through numbers and not skill. my point is:Its a two way street, players from both sides of the proverbial GW2 tracks should be incentivized into at least TRYING the other. Yet it’s hard to feel like that is the methodology when The Mists rewards are completely aesthetic based and PvE is Aesthetic and everything else and yet it has MORE skins currently and proceeds to get more every month. I can empathize with Anet wanting everyone to experience every furthest corner of Kryta that they spent so much time developing, that’s why I got two 80’s so that I could say I’ve “been around”. But at the heart of things.. Its PvP for me.
3)Making skins exclusive/rare is about the only way to offer a Reward or incentive in a game mode (Structured Player verse Player) where the only progress comes in the form of visuals. So it’s arguable that this is even MORE important in the Mists than in PvE so My Point is that there’s no explanation why the skins and appearance modification items that exsist in PvE shouldn’t be just as precious and brag worthy in The Mists! Like i said previously HOW we get the skins is irrelevant, in fact I would hope that the better looking ones WERE more difficult to achieve but my idea on “difficult to achieve” is becoming a seasoned well versed competitive player is through vast successful competitions. Not someone who has to go out of the mists, buy a couple dozen Black Lion Chests/Keys from the Auction House and exhange those for a Skin that you must convert into a PvP item before you can step back into The Mists and use it. Just Saying
4)This follows along the same route as the above concept but basically “In Game Stores”are pretty much required in any self respected Free to Play game model. As it should be, I like the little nick-nacks and have personally purchased quite a few both for me and my friends. (Thank you for implementing the gift feature I was wanting by the way) But all this seems to me not very applicable when applied to the context of The Mists When you can’t even buy the ingredients via Auction House to craft all the Skins you want to use in PvP. So onto My Point: I can’t justify this reasoning either.. Because you could just as easily (if not more practically) stimulate GW2’s economy in The Mists.
In Conclusion
Yes , this is a long winded Topic and Yes, I am a little biased. But I’m trying to be reasonably biased! is it me? Am I missing something fundamentally obvious or perhaps the revamp is a time consuming process and that they are actually in the process of a PvP remedy?
Could someone shed some light on this situation? I’d love to hear some other voices of reason.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
As a preface to this question let me just say I am not trying to “troll” or berate anyone. I am just curious as to why we don’t have acess to all Weapon/Armor/Back Piece Skins In the Mists. This also includes skins that are unlocked via PvE Achievements.
I play exclusively PvP and I rarely leave the Mists aside from accessing the Bank. I love the World the Music Score and the Art is remarkable for a competitive MMORPG. But I don’t have a lot of time and my schedule can be sparratic, and more importantly I’m just not big into fighting scripted monsters and Auction House grinding ect. (Again, Guild Wars 2 is an amazing game.)
In short: I just PvP.
I am rank 48 I do have 2 level 80’s but just so that I could experience the world.
I have given this great thought and it is my opinion that the pro’s far out weight the con’s and I can’t justify not having them. Particularly since they can’t leave the Mists. So perhaps the reason is beyond my understanding, But it would greatly please a noteworthy amount of PvP players to allow access to such content.
I am aware it is possible to convert items earned in PvE into a PvP version.. But.. You have to earn it in PvE, This feels contradictory to me. Also There was a time during the Flame and Frost event where it was possible to earn the Fused Gauntlets in the Mists as a random drop inside Arena reward chests only during the event. This was incredible and apparently not particularly complicated to do. (Development wise) Why couldn’t we earn a PVP Molten Jet Pack or the current Gas Mask? How we earn it is irrelevant. Whatever Anet determines to be more “Valuable” that is to say, a more rewarding item could be gained through more difficult means whereas skins that are only accessible temporarily during an event could/should be earnable during the event as well! BUT through PvP and yield a PvP only version of the item. That’s just my opinion of that matter, anywho moving on.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
Quickness will cause the bombs to be placed faster, detonate faster and will also throw off the animation of their combo fields making it seem like the field is persisting long after it actually is. Thus it is wise to get a feel for the length of the actual combo field as opposed to simply waiting off the visual combo field effects when under the effect of Quickness.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
I agree with the OP that a revamp is especially nessisairy for Greatswords Burst. Of course, this isn’t the first time this has come up, but Perhaps this is due to a general consensus that Arcing Slice is in fact lacking.
My thought process behind a new Greatsword Burst skill comes from having played all professions in PvP, the Warrior profession mechanics (non-traited) seem a little lackluster in comparison to the others. But more importantly all other burst skills have unique utility to them that allows very effective combo’s and positioning, all except the Greatswords Arcing Slice. Don’t get me wrong I love the Warrior it is one of my top favorite to play but allow me to continue:
As it has been discussed previously in this Topic as well as in general across the forums the boon Fury is very easily aquired across all builds as a Warrior, and it should stay that way. But to have a full Adrenal Arcing Slice yield moderate damage with a moderate duration of a boon you likely had already seems strange. I think each Weapons Burst skill should incorporate different mechanics that could potentially be used not just with that specific weapon but for others as well..
With longbow We have a stronge Fire Field AOE that can deal a hybrid of power/condi damage while also yielding you extra might to you and Burning to foes by taking advantage of the fire field. It is also fantastic for its almost guaranteed condition removal (when traited).
With Axe We have a high pressure ability that forces dodge roles and punishes those who don’t, as well as a seeking utility that is great for leading you to slippery targets or at the very least point you in the direction of those that Teleport out in the chaos of a heated skirmish.
Even with the simplicity of Mace we have acess to a slow but punishing stun that has a wind up animation that is practically identical to most mace attacks making counter play practically non existent. Because of this it’s on par with the Axe for its ability in competitive play to apply pressure by simply having it out. This coupled with its moderate damage and stun duration has endless applications.
But what does Arcing slice bring? A slow wind up for potentially a little over 15 seconds of Fury. The Damage isn’t small but for the time it takes to cast and the range required for successful hits it is even a poor option to use when traited to remove conditions.
Ultimately it’s how Greatsword is designed to be used in PvP that makes its Burst feel very Lackluster while bringing no utility or opportunity to combo from it.
This is of course, my experience as a heavy PvP enthusiast.
Suggestions
-Make it add x2 stacks of fury for 2/3/5 seconds.
-Make it attempt to hone in on your target for 2 consecutive strikes, divide total damage between both lunges.
-Make it a small AOE and remove boons based on your Adrenaline.
-Make it Block an attack and throw your sword causing daze for 1s/gain Vigor if not struck 2s/4s/6s.
-Make it Deal bonus damage to targets with Invulnerability or Protection.
Or change its mechanic entirely..

Perhaps a mode where each team has a small base and within the base can be a object(s) that your enemy needs to carry to their respective base to score points.
The team with the most points at the end of the time limit wins.
-There can be several conquest nodes around the map that when uncontested. Would grant the players standing on the node a specific resource that they would passively carry until they returned to their respective base.
-When a player dies or is killed they drop their accumulated resources on the ground that can be acquired by passing over it.
-Each individual resource can be spent at your base to bolster its defenses. This could come in the form of: Walls, Turrets, Traps, Buffs and Debuffs, as well as Means of transportation throughout the map.
The goals of this mode would be to essentially break into your enemies base and steal their object(s) and return the object back to your base. While trying to secure enough resources to bolster your base and prevent your opponents from doing the same.
Could make for some very fun and satisfying situations.

Legendary weapon skins would be a nice way to start! As well as giving all races acess to all racial armor ect in the Mists!
I would also love to see a (glory) purchasable one time use item along the lines of a “Capture PvP Costume” that allows you to create a PvE copy of that specific character. These items should of course be expensive (glory) and only provide a physical appearance for PvE. This would allow you to show off your prowess in then mists in PvE, and (for me personally) bring incentive to step out into PvE instead of having to acquire all the visually appealing gear you have already acquired by conquering the mists.
I would also love to have a way to earn all limited time PvE cosmetic items through PvP. There’s no reason for players who merely enjoy PvP or lack the time to invest in PvE to lose the opportunity to gain these aesthetic content. I would be okay with any mechanic implemented to gain these, as long as it is possible through PvP.

Warriors lack boon removal And, new skill/ weapon/mechanic concepts should never be ruled out by their development demands. That defeats the purpose of theory crafting.
I do like your idea In general though. I’ve always wanted a way to use 1 handed weapons by them selfs so that they have two additional weapon skills, Instead of being required to duel wield.

I must say, very innovative idea. Nice thinking.
Wonder if they could make that into a F2 profession mechanic that will drain your Adrenaline while active, and once deactivated will go on a decent cool down.
It could also be called something along the lines of Weapon Master to allow for 2 handed weapons to either do one of the following:
-Attacks made with 2 handed weapons Reduce 2 handed weapon skills cool downs by a small percentage while active.
or
-Attacks made with 2 handed weapons have a chance to remove the boons: Stability or protection while active.

Skritt.
Skritt!
SKRITT!
Skritt for president. And for the new race.
I don’t understand where people come from when they say lesser races can’t be playable. Literally anything is possible, and making Skritt the new playable race is completely possible.
In this games lore, rules are fabricated to be broken. The Dead can be made living, the immortal can be killed the examples are everywhere. Hell, Lyssa could come back from the void and say: “you know what.. Skritt please me, here’s your intelligence”. To say its not possible is a little harsh considering the actual creative leash length that’s given in a fantasy massively multiplayer online role playing game such as this one. All the races have adapted and survived the impossible to become one of the “greater races” And Skritt is no exception.
It is already known that Skritts have collective intelligence. And when solitary their minds activity will grow dormant, however they possess the ability to even out smart the Asura when in mass, making the Asura actually consider them a threat. And during dire times a rare few Skritt become super intelligent and gain the power to lead, think and demonstrate initiative even without the aid of other Skritts cumulative intelligence. In fact it may even be possible for Skritt to tap into other creatures ability to gather and interpret information through symbiotic relationship.
There are so many possibilities and completely viable reasons to why Skritt could be a fair and legitimate race. (Try playing the human story mode and assist the Skritt, their intelligence and ingenuity is jaw dropping and there are only 4-5 traveling with you.)
My point
Yes, I am biased in the fact that I would very much like Skritt as a/the new race.
But at least use this as an example that most races have pretty reasonable avenues to become a “greater race”. Regardless of their connection to the story mode or their position in the current affairs of Tyria. As Anet puts it, it IS a “Living Word”, the smallest races can rise to be the most powerful and the greatest races can fade to dust or become lost to extinction.
Basically, don’t be racist.
Vote Skritt.

I’m still holding out for Skritt. I don’t care about lagistics, I just want Skritt.
SHINIES!!! \(^u^)/
i guess there might be a Skritt Ele/Engineer for me then xD
In this fantasy game it would be completely reasonable and relatively simple to justify the Skritt gaining their own solitary intelligence. Evolution/magic/technology/adaptation a combination of all four.. Pick one. We have a technologically brilliant smaller race.. Now lets have a ferocious, fearless simplistic yet innovative smaller race.
Can you just imagine the different hair styles and markings a Skritt could have!? They would look simply Devine.. In all the armor types across all professions.
Skritt please.

Maybe make the locker not hold the skins, but rather unlock them in the manner similar to achievement skin rewards.
That is exactly how it should work.
Yeah, but it destroys crafting as you could just take from the locker as many weapons of the type and salvage them.
Solution: Remove crafting all together. If we want to collect skins from our accolades through PvP I want to be able to visually see all I have acquired and not have to hunt down all my characters looking for which one is carrying the shoulder skin I want..

I believe Anet has the intent to make this game completely reactionary, to where everything has a distinct tell and the potential for counter play.. And having off hands randomly do attacks for no reason would be difficult to justify.
…but…
I always hated how off hand weapons often collect dust in combat as you wait to use their moves sparingly and most have high CD’s. I would love a simple quality of life change that let’s you swing with your off hand weapons even if just for its visual appeal.
Perhaps Critting with your #1 ability will cause your off hand to do something…

Your post on Engineer Bombs
This feels like the missing link between my thoughts and the post made by MonMalthias.
I’d actually be quite for Engineer Bomb Kit 1 being a skill that had the Engineer lob a bomb ~180 range in front of him where it would explode. It would completely change how Bomb Kit is played for damage, but I think that it would overall be a pretty good change by both providing a better tell for the enemy vs a Bomb Kit Engineer (allows them to judge distance and make decisions about engaging the Engineer) and also giving an Engineer a little more elbow-room for using Bomb Kit outside of cramped spaces/tight corners while relatively maintaining its effectiveness in those same locations (it would just require a little more finesse).
I actually really like the bomb throwing suggestion, though! It certainly seems do-able what with the many instances of “charge-up” type weapons such as cannons, mortars and trebuchets. and throwing bombs would only add to the skill ceiling and versatility of the Bomb Kit. I still think that throwing a bomb (relatively) long-distance (maybe something like 600 range max) should be reserved for only the 2-5 skills seeing that the 1 skill does so much raw damage. However, I’m not sure that tying a straight power-up (even slightly) to the distance thrown is a good idea.
Even so, there’s no reason that a thrown bomb itself couldn’t become a line-directed physical projectile with adjustable range that damaged foes that touched it (ala Flame Blast). Then they could chain into [Detonate Bomb] skills that could blow up the bombs in mid-flight and apply their effects at their immediate location (but that might be too good). Either way, Engineer Bomb Kit would gain a whole new dimension to toy with when it comes to placing bombs and dominating a space.
To be honest it’s hard to not completely agree with any/all said changes to Bomb Kit. It just feels (opinion) like it lacks any depth. Aside from using Smoke Bomb for stealth/secure stomps and clever use of Big Ol Bomb the actually Kits applications seem so dry.. I’m sure it’s usefulness (and its disadvantages) grow in WvW. But I only play competitive sPvP.
Changing core mechanics on anything, as you know, is tricky business.. The only reason I suggested a slight damage boost on Charging was to warrant your loss of DPS while you are charging the skills. But I have just played a Tourney in my head with your above mentioning of chain skill “detonate bomb” on bomb kit, and it would be VERY fun, particularly if each bomb had a potential fuse of 3 seconds Instead of its current 1/2 second fuse so you could have more time to set up combos before “Detonating” them manually.
The longer fuse/detonate could even be a trait. And would allow for such combos as Laying a Glue Bomb and a Concussion Bomb then swap to Tool Kit to Magnet Pull> Pry Bar>Detonate Bombs. This may sound like an overpowered combo, but given its largely broadcasted set up and lengthy cooldowns I think it would be completely reasonable.
In conclusion. I’m all for it all, if keep writing our thoughts down on the forums perhaps we will over saturate them and a trickle of our hopes will slip through the cracks and be seen.

This is almost unrelated to the past few posts and would also require a arge amount of redesign making it unlikely for any attention.. But consider this:
What if Bomb Kit skills could now be charged by holding the button down, and activate apon release. There could be 3 stages of the charge, the 1st stage would simply drop the bomb at your feet and act identical to the Bomb Kits current design but the 2nd level would boost the damage slightly and allow you to throw the bomb ahead of you with it detonating a few moments later after releasing the key. The 3rd and final charge could increase the damage/effect and the range that the bomb would travel even further while also allowing it to detonate immediately apon arrival. When thrown these bombs could arc similar to Throw Mine but function identical to the Warriors Greatsword Skill “Bladetrail”, in the fact that it doesn’t require a target and can be positioned in a strait path in front of you. (This would create a unique projectile instead of simply giving them Grenades wrist crushing Ground Target.)
The intent here is to make Bomb Kit more versatile, therefore encouraging prolonged use of this Kit in stead of its current application of simply swap and drop then swap out to control a Zone, or to escape. If bombs could be charged it would allow much more diverse gameplay while not affecting the Engineers DPS. If the engineer is in close proximity he can simply spam the skills, dropping the bombs at his feet for their usual sustain damage or he could charge them and attempt to burst.
This I feel would be an innovative way to make Bomb Kit’s function more unique while aiding its viability. Now when a Thief jumps you you could quickly drop a Glue Bomb then kite while charging up a Concussion bomb then lobbing it in his general direction.
Food for thought.

Yes I would like better achievements. I’d also like:
Battle Commentator: "We think it would be an exciting addition to have a voice announce specific actions done by the player.” I know this has come up in several posts before but this is a solid suggestion and would without a doubt provide an excellent and harmless addition to PvP. For the fact it could be made to only be heard/seen by the player who triggered it. For example: (Double Kill, Killstreak, Finished ect.) And of course this could be a toggle on/off option in the Advanced Settings. This would provide invigorating gameplay and much satisfaction, especially to new or inexperienced players.
PvP accolades: “We would absolutely love a more rewarding achievement system in PvP” The ‘PvP Accolades’ could be a unique and sometimes strange accomplishment system where players are recognized for achieving amazing and bizarre feats during each match while in sPvP. Meeting the requirments will result in a slight glory reward. (I am aware similar but different mechanics exsist already) The ‘PvP Accolades’ differs from any current reward system by the fact that they are reset each mach and simply provide a slight bonus to Glory. Completing one of these feats should also be visible by all other players in small text in a corner of the User Interface. This will cultivate a more rewarding PvP experience. By allowing players to feel and see that they are accomplishing something during battle. And create a positive “win win” enviroment while encouraging more immersive and fruitful PvP gameplay. As well as opening up the potential for some very interesting PvP exclusive titles/Achievements.
Some examples of ’PvP Accolades, are as followed:
Meat Shield:lose 70% of your life while reviving a fallen player and succeed.
Just Resting: Enter the Downed state 3 times in 2 minutes and survive.
I ment to do that: Deal last damage to an opponent who dies from falling damage.
Taking your time: Have your movement speed hindered (Cripple/Chilled/Immobilized) for X seconds in succession.
Wonderluster:Capture every point in X minutes.
Mine!:Keep one point under your control the entire match.
Cruise and Bruise: Remain in combat for X minutes.
Vendetta:Kill the same opponent 6 times.
Miracle Cure: Cure 50 conditions.
Now that’s a Combo: Down/finish an opponent from the effect of a combo finisher.
Sweet Revenge Finish an opponent who has just previously finished you.
Silent Master: Finish an opponent without ever receiving damage from them.
Come Back Kings: Win a match when the enemy had a 300 or more of a lead.
Down but not out: Capture an enemy’s point while in downed state.
I got this: Survive a battle with less than 5% health.
Mist Killer: Down 3 or more opponents at the same time.
Shhh: Interrupt an opponent 3 times in X seconds.
And stay down: Down the same player 3 times in 2 minutes.
Headhunter: kill every opponent at least once.
Immortal: Play an entire match without dieing.
Dominator: Lead in score by 300 points.
Nothing is Safe: Kill X Opponent controlled creatures in one game. (Spirits/Minions/Pets/Turrets/Illusions)
Spray and pray:Down a player while they are invisible.
Boonanza: Gain one of every boon from allies and their effects. (Your own boons do not count towards the effect.)
King Slayer: Personally Finish an opponent who is leading the score board.
Cool Critter: Land X Critical Hits in succession against a single target.
Condition Collector: Recieve atleast one of every condition. (Conditions inflicted on you by yourself do not count towards the effect.)
Power Snuggle: Stay within 600 distance from your opponent for X minutes.
Ultimatum: Down an opponent 2 seconds after they activat their ultimate.
Your just Practice: Down and successfully finish an opponent in X seconds.
What a downer: While downed, deal the killing blow to a downed opponent.
All part of the plan: Negate or avoid a damaging source that would have otherwised downed you.
Just a flesh wound: Remian in downed state for over a 1 minute.
Captain Tyria: Benefit from allies Combo Finishers X times in one game.

I don’t get why people actually think a chainsaw would be a good weapon. Its hugely unwieldy and best thing is everyone knows your coming because they hear the kitten buzzing. Aweful weapon..
Now what i want is a weapon that can do more than one thing like have you ever seen Hot Shots 2? Toppers Knife in that
Equivalent exchange. When you use a weapon as manly as a chainsaw, it’s only fair you let your opponent know he’s about to get mauled. Writing his Will takes time, and all that.
Chainsaw Kit all the way.

I always had the vision of an Ultimate skill “Kit” that would function Identically to all Kits except it would actually have a small cast time (1 second) to Equip. This would encourage the Engineer to fully utilize the Kit before swapping out and warrant making this particular kit slightly more powerful.
…..Or…. you could just give Engineers a Chainsaw Kit please.

I hope the Tool Belt ability is this-
Rev Chainsaw Kit: Root yourself while channeling for 1 second to rev your Chainsaw. Granting 1 and a half second of stability and 5 seconds of might. Cool down: 1 second.
You could in theory sit there and pump yourself up… And it would look amazing.
Could you imagine how annoying that would be in Lion’s Arch?
Hopelessly sighs while staring into the distance Almost annoying enough to be worth implementing it for that reason alone…

I made a Power Pistol/Pistol build trying to monopolize of the Modified Amunition trait.
With the Tool Kit/Net Turret and Rocket boots for some mobility. It lacks stun breakers but between Gearshield/net turret/glue shot/rocket boots people are usually right where you want them.

Chainsaw Kit… Please!
I would be the happiest entity in exsistance.

I would agree that Warriors downed states effectiveness drops off immediately when even a single other opponent joins in the fray. Making it appear to be the worse down state, and in terms of “rallying” it is very bad. But Vengance gives you a lot of options to change the tide of battle (Finishing a downed opponent/rallying a downed friend/capping or neutralizing a point/adding more pressure to a target/luring unskilled opponents off points who try to persue you/judging on your build you can even activate all your shouts/drop your banners before you die to aid friends in battle from beyond the grave.)
The worse downed state (in terms of ability to rally/postpone being finished/harass opponents/downed state damage) goes to Engineer, but I digress.
Having an AoE knock down around the Warrior could be a little much since it would -guarantee- Vengance. (If not versus a Guard/Mesmer/Thief who can down anyone with no opposition.) Not to mention I couldn’t imagine what a Warrior could do to cause that while bleeding out on the ground… But it certainly would help to be able to potentially impede several specific opponents if timed properly, and currently that is impossible in downed state.
Perhaps if they changed Hammer Toss into Leg Kick which causes the downed Warrior to knock down all foes in a small forward cone in front of the Warrior with a swift kick to their legs. (I never understood Hammer Toss on a warrior.. First of all, Engineers feel more like a candidate to utilize tools in a frantic battle for life, second of all.. If Warriors can just pull out different weapons… Why can’t warriors throw axes while wielding a Greatsword? Or Bash people with rocks while immobilized.)

•These are not organized by preference.
15)Bomb Kits skills to display combo fields at the appropriate time they are in effect(instead of prematurely creating a false visual when you activate the skill/alternatively when deploying bombs while under the effects of Quickness your fields will visibly disappear while they are still active and usable.)
16)Chainsaw Kit
17)Elixir Gun’s Acid Bomb to display an effect field that is only visible to the Engineer who activated it. (Like Thief’s shadow stepping abilities.)
18)Give Rifles basic attack a scaling damage increase the closer proximity you are to the targets hit.
19)Chainsaw Kit
20)Increase Elixir Gun’s number two skill -Elixir F-’s projectile speed and allow it to travel farther when it returns.
21)Make Pistol off hands -Glue Shot- projectile speed faster
22)Give the Flamethrower Kit’s -Napalm- skill the ability to blind foes that travel through it.
23)Chainsaw Kit
24)Give pistol main hands -Poison Dart Volley- a small chance to remove a boon from foes on each hit.
25)Demonstrate some affection towards turrets in general.
26)Replace the Explosions trait -Acidic Elixirs- with (I want/claim no rights to this name) -Volatile Vials- which will now cause thrown Elixirs to Explodes causing damage and cripple while converting one Boon into a condition on foes struck in the radius.
27)Make Gadget only builds viable (my personal opinion would be to allow them to function like signets or alternatively make them have incredibly low CD’s via grandmaster traits.)
28)A New Kit that is a Chainsaw.

Equivalent exchange I’m afraid, but I personally feel that it is detrimental for all professions to be downed next to a wall (that can’t be teleported through). But the pro’s would out weigh the cons of having a ground targeting knock down. It could be a small Area of Effect and potentially be a single target projectile that could be intervened by targets in front of a desired target.
I’d say, “Sure, just make it a small AoE knockdown that effects all targets in its range!” But that could be a bit much considering its already moderately simple to get into vengeance. Warrior down state isn’t the worse.. But I wouldn’t turn away any improvement to it within reason.
Dingo King-Hound King-Coyoti King-Thylacine King-Hyena King
What if warriors downed state ability Hammer Toss used ground targeting.
Any thought?

This is a quality of life improvement but would please me greatly.
Will you please invest the time to show the individual weapon model when throwing them.
So many weapons/Shields would look amazing sailing through the air. And adding this feature would only improve incentive to acquire specific gear.

I agree, it seems the other professions have very unique and flashy effects. (Mesmers shattering, Guardians blue flames ect) I would love if our moves had more flash just to feel more potent, like blood spray and sundering fragments of armor when using burst. Anything to over dramatize our majority of standard looking attacks.
And yes I also agree, the Greatsword burst is dumb.
