So a little analysis from a BG guy.
Friday opening: BG dominated for a day, first in scores. SoS and JQ both realized they are outdone. Double teaming begins soon after because they simply can’t stand the thought of a newcomer rolling them like this. We have witnessed whole SoS and JQ zergs almost going through each other just wave and move on both attacking BG. Say what you want i have seen it all day long. Hey it rhymes. It’s a poetry piece! It’s the ugly political reality of T1.
Tactical/strategic observations so far:
SoS seems to be far superior to JQ and BG in overall strategy/tactics. They seem to out think BG and JQ in terms of overall manpower movement in the world as global place. Meaning not within 1 map but all 4 maps at the same time. If you do this you gain the advantage of gaining/regaining territory very fast which than allows you to move to another map and do the same there while your opposition even with same numbers but devided gains territory slower and wipes if they encounter this big zerg. BG lacks this capability and really needs to improve here. From a BG player (mine) perspective our commanders are excellent but they need 1 additional strategic/tactical command lvl that would direct the whole world not just 1 map. SoS is outperforming the competition by very smart and timely zerg moves among the 4 Battlegrounds using overwhelming force to gain/regain ground. They seem to just fill a map till queue kicks in and take this whole force to overwhelm opposition. This is the point of this: The Whole Force. Sometimes they will use small force of 10 or so to cut of reinforcements trickling in from spawns. Very smart on their part and as said BG needs to catch up in this department. Consider this: Even if most of their zerg dies in the process of killing the opposition yet some live they just raise the dead and move on. Giving them time advantage because of no need to regroup unlike the other team. This also cuts on their travel time. Not to mention psychological advantage of lowering your opponents numbers by discouraging them.
This statement is gonna make a lot of T1s mad here lolz but it is true from what i have witnessed. Nor SoS or JQ could beat us in open filed if the forces were about even or sometimes more of them and we are talking larger numbers. We always won these encounters. Every single time. They both seem to have too many glass canons who simply can not take it. In very small encounters this seems to be flipped to their advantage.
T1 feels far closer to SPvP than T2 did. You see a lot of small scale tactical moves of: run away till the advantage is on my side = i don’t fight fair fights. I also noticed on SoS and JQ side much smarter moves as far as saving their fallen and getting them up to fight again than was the case in T2.
I’m honestly little disappointed by the politics of T1. Double teaming recessed a lot once SoS got significant point advantage. Just so they now can pretend it never happened lol. And yes i do stand by my statements and yes it did happen.

I agree. if I’m going to trash talk it’s going to be about my own server. I’m glad to see that people on the outside still see that about JQ because to be honest the past couple weeks has really pushed me to my limit. We have FAR less people listening to each other than we have in the past. Our TS is typically empty outside of Friday. PUGs are arguing with commanders, instead of helping them out. Sometimes I wish we would drop down because in the long run it might help us.
I don’t see any of this that you speak of. We have complex conversations about such things over on our forum, bring your question and we can all discuss your opinions.
I have no problem with you praising or belittling individual guilds’ performances, but to judge them in a way with main intention to stir up drama is extremely rude and disgusting (because that’s exact what you are trying to do, there’s no reason why you phrased your statement that way otherwise).
I don’t think he had any intention, that’s just Hex. He calls them like he sees them.
Soon you may find that he somehow compares how SoS guilds are like a banana in a tailpipe, and tell us he won’t fall for it twice.
Usually it starts out as 30v30 or 30v60 or 30v100. But by the end of the fight, it always seems to be 30v1.
And then comes the dancing.

Friend was having this same issue .. try doing a repair on your exe file.
On desktop, make a copy of your GW2 icon.
On the copied icon, right click properties and add -repair to the end of the exe file, so it’d look like this gw2.exe -repair.
Make sure there’s a single space between the exe and the small dash.
Run the repair gw2 icon.
Hope that helps.
Also, check your local.dat file. This is supposed to be for UI settings only, but it grows daily. If it’s larger than 15mb, you just delete it and let the game reload it. This fix is specifically for the sound bug that sometimes happens in wvw, but it’s helped with crashes too.
The local.dat file is located in documents>gw2 folder.

Getting tired of SoS tooting their own horn. “Hey, look at us, we’re awesome because we have a huge winning streak, but we’ll make excuses when we lose ONCE.” Most of you act like its a huge, big deal that you lost ONCE. Get over yourselves. I feel like I’m looking at WoW forums, seriously. I quit WoW back in 2011, didn’t think I’d see forums as bad, but here I am. Did some of you people come from WoW or something? You sure act like it. Did most of you even play GW1? I ask because this community is FAR WORSE than GW1’s core community ever was.

SoS lost last week – they didn’t have field presence as they were outnumbered on every map. Did JQ win? Yes. The issue isn’t if SoS won or lost, its the fact JQ didn’t beat them when it mattered. You beat SoS on a holiday when no one was playing. If you want to take that as the end all be all, and suddenly SoS cant fight and you magically win by like 100k – do you. The fact of the matter regardless of what you think is SoS’s presence was halved, and that’s what JQ beat.
Can JQ beat SoS when SoS is here? No – at least not currently. This week obviously shows last weeks JQ win was due to lack of numbers, and not JQ suddenly learning how to WvW.
That being said JQ does have several guilds that are very skilled, and we look forward to seeing those guys on the battlefield every week – they keep it fun/interesting.

You know what’s funny is that last week from the beginning we had numbers and people stayed out there. Now there was definitely no queue thing but we had numbers.
This week there are no numbers. Apparently a lot of JQ was taking holiday this week. Just remember you’ve heard it here first.
The long answer is, are you really going to come to the forums and complain about players standing in their invulnerable area because it’s right next to their spawn? You are literally spawn camping a server and you’re complaining that you can’t run into their spawn and murder them there too. That’s shameful.
Get a bloody clue. First of all, this usually happens when a lesser team is chased away from certain supply camps. While I’m ok with a point where they can rally I’m not fine with a spot that allows you to retreat to if things go bad and you become invulnerable while still able to attack.
And second, the fact that the invulnerability buff expends so far from the camp, is, by rational logic, unintended.
You know that you can attack from on top of the hill too right?
And I am sure a lot of you people don’t use the siege from invulnerable spots looking at NE and NW tower either, right?
I’d like to propose an alliance with BG as early as now. Let’s seal it with a handshake (or a kiss). You know this is gonna happen. Might as well do it here where everyone can see. I of course speaks for the entire SOS server and what i say is official.

I agree, need to decide when it is most effective to 2v1 JQ. I say BG and SOS keep JQ under 100 ppt during there prime time and then once jq logs off then we can fight for 1st and 2nd.

lol! Congratulations. And I am sick of reading your holier than thou attitude. Obviously you can do no wrong, and obviously everyone goes to your website to read your messages. That makes total sense since you mean less than nothing to me.
Guess what, we all had a holiday. I spent time with the family, did the dinners and parties, yet I was on. I was on for a good amount of time, and I had a blast while I was off work.
Just admit that we beat you and be done. There is no reason to add in stupid stipulations to your pounding.

Not mad what so ever, however I was kind of like “So they’re just going to sit there all day and shoot into the camp? Why’ll their stuff is being taken? Makes sense to me. Let’s see how many we can get up here before we die to pull them away from other things.”
Not to mention that one of the worst places to try and defend from is on top of the walls. Yet it is one of the only places some can try to do just that.
The only one’s I can think of that are specific I believe most can understand.
Center Island – Quaggs
Sentry Island – South island in borderlands between Briar and Lake
Briar – SW tower
Lake – SE tower
Vale – SW Supply
Water – SE Supply
Lodge – S supply, but I usually just use South Supply.
Bay – W keep in BL’s
Hills – E keep in BL’s
Garri – Garrison or middle keep in BL’s
Main ones I see while attacking or defending:
AoE – area of effect
DoT – Damage over time condition build basically.
Condition – Use bleeds, vulnerability – specifically when on veteran supply mobs.
Stack – to stack on whoever says probably for a portal
Portal (port) – either use the portal, or AoE the portal
CC – crowd control; stuns, fear, knockbacks, roots, etc.

Props are well deserved to JQ for their win last week. However, when analyzing data, you tend to plot a large amount of sample numbers in order to detect trends. When a datum suddenly pops up counter to the trend, you do one of two things: You either throw it out as an outlier, or you assume that you have insufficient data to draw a conclusion.
I’m gonna be generous, call it the latter and then log in to do some WvW.

Yeah I don’t put much stock in that site (I do see 4 transfers showing on but all PvX). It also shows FoE just transferring onto SoS.
What I do know is it’s the same people out there everyday that have been here for weeks. FOO has done great in their time frame, TKG as well. All of our SEA/Oceanics/EU, have done great. We just got off our collective butts and decided it was time. We’ve been pressuring SoS for the past few weeks.
It might be more of a cultural thing since FOO is Taiwanese, and WM is Japanese(?) I think? I am not sure. More than likely someone somewhere changed their guild tags and server allegiance on an open forum and started trolling WM.

JQ are strong enough with the new influx of recruit guilds as you can see by this pretty easy win. Lets not go overboard and make it a HoD2.0 and boring washouts eh?
This always makes me laugh I never see these influx of guilds. I see the same people out every night.
Someone is saying that FOO was making fun of WM on a forum. FOO is saying they didn’t after talking to everyone in their guild. And that they respect them as a mentor in WvW.

number one question people should be asking when joining a top tier server, how long are queue times in NA primetime.
On most nights there are no queue times. If there is one you are in within 5 minutes. This of course is not the same on Friday night. You might have to wait 10-15 minutes at that point.
Wow. On New Year’s Eve, I played on JQ BL with HzH commander, Ben Sheets, and SoS BL didn’t look like that. We only had one tower on SoS BL (rest was green) and now its mostly blue with some red, but no green (obviously it could be different now since this posting). Its interesting how much turnaround a WvW match can have.
These things change much faster than you realise. I’ve been on and we have nothing we go and take everything. Either we lose a leader, or they gain one. Slowly but surely they regain everything. It’s interesting to spend a very long time in one borderland.
JQ was spotted exploiting at sunny hill. Guild tag ZX. They were seiging our tower, wall/gate still up, but some of them managed to get in and started attacking the defenders. Please do something about it JQ
There’s not really much that we can do.
I have never seen that tag, despite being in multiple BL’s at different times through out a night.
If it was one of the more known guilds it would be easy to name/shame them. But this guild I have never seen. So the best I can give you is to ask that you Fraps it and put up a link. Also do a Report on each person you see doing it.
If we see anything like that we report it as well.
