I voted No because they are still going to stop class switching during game… It’s just the window before the round begins and a lot of skill to this game comes from knowledge… If you’re not experienced enough or have enough initiative to counter comp or help your own team comp then you deserve to lose to those who do.
With this change, if yes, I’ll just queue Warrior too for the simple reason that it doesn’t need certain comps unlike being the Nec or Support/Tank.
( I don’t get this queue for ranked on my weaker class either and needing profession rankings, I think like most normal people I leave my weaker classes to unranked until I feel confident enough to take on ranked with it)

It makes me cringe how massively overpowered warrior is in gw2. The class is god mode, is this some kind of sick joke or whats going on???

I was thinking the same about the new contribution stats.
Cleaving downed bodies is a highly important contribution towards wins but they left it out to promote bleeding. This wasn’t a wise trade because anyone who has a clue wouldn’t sacrifice the momentum just for tops. Builds that specialize in finishing downs get no recognition.
I wish that the damage stats contain cleaving again. There is nothing which kittenes me more off than me being the only one cleaving, meanwhile the downed player gets rezzed. Implementing cleaving into damage stats again would maybe motivate players to do so.
Ranked features the usual ranked pvp maps, unranked has the ranked maps + the unranked maps (like colosseum).
Why are you doing ranked in the offseason? Unranked has always had better offseason matchmaking than ranked, because very few people do ranked in the offseason.
I always thought it was a general understanding that everyone does unranked in offseason.

Same here. I get 3 guys from top 100 in enemy team (I am low gold) and bronze players in my team. Rating doesn´t seem to affect the offseason matchmaking at all.
btw i just realized we got achievements now for every map.. nice to see that players get even more encouraged to go for monsters on forest or lord on legacy all the time..
I really like the open clocktower, even though its ugly. But getting to mid from sides is now way too easy (i mean it was easy before, but now…). You also can´t kite that good anymore (no roof, no walls, no path below the middle node).
To me smite looks like a completely different game tbh.. wondering how the “transmission” from gw2 to smite is supposed to be easy

Of course money is a factor if you are a pro team. Cannot make a living as a pro-gamer playing solo/duo queue competing for a title.
You know that the current system has nothing to do with “make a living as a pro-gamer”? In the past all the pro teams trained in scrims, not in queues. You don´t get anything for being #1 on the leaderboard except a title. The main reason Denial is leaving gw2 for now is that Anet didn´t announce any tournament whatsoever for 2017. Competing in tournaments with a prize pool is a big motivating factor for a pro player.
I played 2 ranked arena games and didnt get rewards from them…

class stacking, people capping close in a threesome, players who randomly stealth you so you can´t decap a point (which made me lose a game once)

Glancing blows (caused by weakness) don’t crit, so there won’t be lower “crit dmg” because of weakness, just lower crit rate + less dmg on some non critical hits.
It was more likely caused by different amounts of dmg reduction (toughness, protection, traits …). The axe/shield warrior was probably running high toughness + RR, maybe even dmg reduction food.

Yesterday I did up to 7k critical damage with the berserk gs f1. Today it was max. critical damage of 2.3 k. It is kinda weird since I thought that the critical damage should always be roughly the same. Any ideas why the damage fluctuates so much?
Depends on what you’re hitting. How much dmg reduction the enemies have.
Well I was fighting versus an axe/shield ; gs warrior, never fought against this build since I´m coming from pvp where most ppl use meta builds. Maybe he just applied weakness on my all the time, didn´t pay attention tbh.
Anyone else getting those weird loss/win streaks? e.g. I dropped down from gold 2 to silver 3 after losing 8 games in a row. Every game was kinda jinxed, like whats the chances to get a dc in 3 out of 8 games in my team? Lost everytime rating though since the dc was “only” for about 2 minutes. Then there was the issue with classstacking, like 3 dh in enemy team and 3 necros in my team (ofc noone rerolled).

well i lost that game where i had dc, but my team didnt lose rating due my dc.. i dont understand why i get punished for this since it wasnt my fault, i could not log in even though my internet was fine
same just happened to me.. had dc and couldnt log into gw2 for about 2 min.. my internet was still working though. lost points and got dishonor 14 min
I hear ya Op, I’ve played this game off and on since launch. from 500-600 rating is the worst pvp experience i have ever seen in this game. It’s so completly random. you are forced to take this game as a joke or be driven insane.
The majority of my losses came from those ratings, That win streak after you pass 600 though. easy ride right to gold.
The turning point for me was at around 800 rating, after i reached it my win ratio massively increased for some reason. I also didnt play thief/rev anymore and switched to warrior (has much more carry potential especially in lower ranks).
took me some time, but i finally climbed from rating 600 to gold 1 at least, playing solo most of the time ;p
i love kyhlo, but i get it like 1 out of 20 matches cause everyone votes for skyhammer/legacy…
Rev is still decent in teamfights, but lacks dmg imo. They overnerfed staff 5. I switched to warrior this season.

I don´t think we are op, but atm its one of the strongest dps classes in pvp. This is mainly due to other classes getting nerfed (like rev).
I recommend you trying out this power build, its really fun and strong:
i hate the under water mechanics so much.. especially as rev (we only can use 2 legends there)
The creatures on forest are a magnet for every pve player indeed.
multiple ESL players streaming have said rev is perfectly viable. i think highly of their opinions much more than your average forum user.
Noone of them mains rev though. I also see Frae, who mained rev, playing dh/thief this season.

There are three war builds
1. (The only meta war build) macebow condi.
This is tanky and can kill elementalists/druids assuming they dont drop the dodges. It has a 35% chance to beat guards and can only survive on point vs theifs, so it’s not really a great meta build until you start fighting good druids and eles. Although newbies sometimes struggle against it.2. GS/2axe
Necro lewding machine, sucks at everything else. Also needs stability and a little bit of luck to zerg the necro. Not meta.3. Burst burning
One of the worst burning builds in the game, only saving grace is that it’s tanky IF you have a healer, its 1v1 tankyness leaves some want. Also not meta.GS/hammer has not been meta since HOTS came out, in fact it’s trash. Even when it was “meta” it was only strong due to rampage. The actual stun combo was garbage meant to keep you going until the next rampage. In addition, gs/maceshield is also complete trash. I don’t know why people run it.

I´m playing power warrior and basically reking everything.
dunno if class with 13x dodge in row and 10 sec of block 2 heals,needs some buffs…
its ok,just permadodge and wait for s2-3
if it would only deal damage.. the heals are useless btw when the opponent knows what to do
What I struggle with is that sometimes the matchmaking is so awful and terrible that even though I win, I still feel disgusted with it

Well, I didn´t get lucky with 3-7 (+ one game my pc crashed) and ended up at 600 rating (lowest bronze lul). Everyone who played in bronze knows whats going on there. People capping points in a threesome, dying to svanir, don´t know their roles, go afk for easy ascended gear farming etc.. But since players on both teams are kitten I was able to carry many games (not all though of course). Meanwhile I climbed from 600 to about 1200 with roughly 70 % winratio playing solo. I didn´t play many games though since I get constantly frustrated by kittenty teammates. It´s just not fun at this rating. Players in Silver are not really better than in Bronze.
No stability on Rev? lolwhat? XD how about some Retro traits? Or mallyx resistance and legend swap condi transfer?) If you cant make 100% of ur Rev its ur problem not Revs) atm there are 2 types of Rev 1st who dies as fast as blink of the eye) and 2nd who kill ur team as paper shreder)
I was talking about the meta build, which means I already made “100% of my rev”. Retri trait is dead and Mallyx is really bad compared to other condi classes.

dodge druid is by far the most OP class. I can take on entire zergs alone.

See I haven’t ever felt impactful in teamfights =/ I don’t know… Maybe it’s my build but I usually just get dumpstered in team fights, I much prefer the 1v1 for a contested point. I can keep track of everything one opponent does better than 3 or 4.
well, necro usually excels in teamfights (needs support though)

OP is a great example of not being aware of class mechanics of mesmer, even though suggesting he also plays it.
Chrono condi mes is one of the builds with you should never, ever spam. I’m not even going to debate the other points, but double moa hurts my eyes so bad. There are ridiculously few cases when you should double moa to lose it for ~30% of the game..
Btw main point of the topic stands, problem is more the DH / war and maybe necro (but the whole design of the class is spammy) type classes, where you can spam pretty much any ability and you have a high chance of getting a kill. Necro is slightly smaller problem because it is actually very squishy unlike the other two.
Well, good players will be able to survive spamming dh/warr etc., when they are out of cd they are easy to kill.
Come on, it isn’t that bad. As long as your rotations are thought out, your team presence is major. Some people aren’t fast enough / responsive enough for rev, and blame it for being so weak. They also probably follow the meta, which should be given a few tweaks.
Rev doesn´t have stability and almost no condi cleanse which makes it just too weak. With all the CC in the game its almost impossible to cleave downed players in teamfights. Damage and Mobility was all Rev had before the nerf, now its just a boon bot with mobility.
I switched to power warrior this season which gives me all the things I miss at rev: Stability, Condi Cleanse, Damage.
There are times where I can´t see kitten cause all of the clusterkitten, minions, clones etc.. Makes it hard to follow the target.
