Please empty your bags… please… its… argh!
Nope, it is a fact:

You can keep your opinion though, it’s all yours.
Interesting little snipped from the article
“However, with the title still to launch in Asian territories, traditionally NCsoft’s strongest market, those numbers are expected to climb again soon.”
I bet a lot of developer time is wisely invested in the China release, with the living story using whatever resources were left to tide us over. Once the China release is done with, I expect to see more content with better QA.
What I see in most speed-run dungeon/fractals groups are people spamming their DPS rotations and not caring about getting downed, and still managing to successfully clear the content, simply because they keep rallying. This game already has an almost non-existent death penalty, so why make death even harder to happen?
The rally system is also present in borderlands, a first person shooter. Also, you can’t rally indefinitely.. eventually you get defeated without any down state.
I’m not a big fan of a death penalty. I do feel bosses should stomp players dead when they go down. Same with normal mobs, they should know how to stomp you.
or play it the way i like to play a dungeon, shocker i know but that’s life.
why should i turn in to a creepy speed cleaner if i don’t enjoy it, i bought the game just as you did (and maybe even spend more on it, have the CE) and so i have every right to play a dungeon the way i like to.really, the nerve you ppl have, dictating ppl how they “should” play and how it’s “done”, i do a dungeon the way i want it and that’s taking my sweet time exploring.
And the kicker: people have every right to not want to play with you. People have every right to not want to be mentors, to not want to invest their personal play time in you.
This is a MMO, it’s a multi-player experience. It’s also a team effort when it comes to dungeons. Would a baseball team keep a pitcher who prefers to stroll around the field instead of pitch? No. Not for long. Cooperation is the name of the game. Giving an honest effort for the team is what its about.
I don’t understand this single player “I want to do it my way” mentality in a team oriented exercise.

I wouldn’t hold my breath for an expansion sized patch. They’ve thrown us breadcrumbs of content every two weeks so far to keep us buzzed while they work on something else. I’m guessing its the China release, not a massive patch or expansion. Best bangs for your bucks imho, in terms of corporate profits anyway. Once that’s done with then things should pick up.
But hey, only anet knows for sure. We’ll see.
That’s why make these kinds of encounters should be instanced.
More exp players could teach the newer ones.
That’s not what we always see in other instanced games. But I feel it would be a nice step for the more difficult content like worm or teq where anyone who’s there to grief you can make a whole team of 140+ players fail.
They communicate through the official website located at: www.guildwars2.com
Sorry to say but the only time I browse this website is when I’m bored at work. That doesn’t happen every month.
I suspect the majority of the player base never touches this website.
Simple human psychology. People feel that zones in which they are level 80 are endgame zones.
If you are downscaled you feel weaker. It might not be true or even the opposite, but that’s just how the brain works.
Yet Teq and Worm are in lower level zones.
Personally levels or no levels, its all the same to me. The only limiting factor to do “end game” content is agony resistance and gear stats (somewhat) with both being fairly easy to acquire now.
Anyway, I don’t see why people hate duels. Preventing spam is an easy fix, so why don’t you duel haters let people play how they want?
It would actually remove the dueling elements from WvW, which is good for WvW imho.
So not only does it not bother the PvE’ers among us, and lets us play how we want, it also fixes a small issue in WvW.. where bodies are in the map but not contributing to the world score.
OK, now read the thread title and the rest of the OP. Doing every PvE and PvP daily takes somewhere between 3 and 5 hours, depending on soloQ.
Personally I’ve never spent time doing the sPvP ones. But clearing all the PvE and WvW achievements isn’t a 3 hour adventure. Especially the WvW ones, around reset there is always a good zerg going on in guild to clear those quick for both days.
sPvP can be long depending on personal skill level.
Well, here’s a suggestion. Practice your ignoring skills by starting with me, since you probably should start for when and if they release dueling without an Auto-Decline button! You know what they say right? You can never be too prepared, and practice makes perfect.
Knowing anet it will be much like the current costume brawl mechanic. i.e. you’d need to make yourself available for duels for them to happen.
I’m not sure I understand why everyone is so kitten about the concept of dueling. Some of you are behaving like they’re implementing open world PvP… like you’re going to get ganked while using the TP.
I like the fact they re-use some of the temporary livings story elements like Mai Trin but I’d also like to see original content. It doesn’t have to be related directly to Tyria.. the fractals are.. well.. like a fractured sense of reality.
So if we buy them directly from the gem store we get refunded. If we got them via keys we bought we’re essentially kittehned. Wonderful.
I think you failed to read the thread properly.
Didn’t read thread, read the OP.
Specifically:
how people are able to do it every single day without missing even one when the lowest estimate I’ve heard is 3-4 hours, sometimes as much as 6
It doesn’t take hours to do all the PvE dailys. It takes even less to do just the five you need a day. You can also do this once every two days by playing through the reset. So you don’t even need to play every day.
(edited by Xia.3485)
I solo golem mk II on my ele, its very quick and easy alone. In a large group the fight takes forever.
The longest dailys take me is 15 minutes, sometimes they are as fast kitten minutes. You can chain dialy’s by doing them 20 minutes before reset then doing the new ones after reset. This way you only have to be on once every two days if you’re just doing dailys.
On nights I play normally they practically do themselves.
Where did I ever agree with this suggestion or say it would be a good resource model?
I disagree with his ammo idea. I state the equivalent for an elementalist would be mana or some sort. You state mana would be a good idea..
Its rather implicit.
Seeing how anet implements things, I’d rather they didn’t touch the mana idea at all. And I definitely don’t like the idea of mana as a finite resource I’d need to craft. Which is the main subject of this thread. Hence your tangent being interpreted differently than you imagined.
(…) but I would imagine it affects Anet’s bottom line. If more players use this method they I’m sure some adjustments will be made. (…).
What about those who chain farm easy dungeons and zerg content for gold to buy gems to buy keys? Its not giving Anet a source of income either.
I do agree with HP issue but each event is different in the map , is not like zerg those 20 elite mobs and move to the next .Teq and wurm are okish , but the reward as i said is rly lackluster compared to the effort you put in .
I’m still farming Teq daily for the karma.. he’s so karmalish-ous. But I agree with the rewards, except that’s an issue with the entire game. You can buy most high end cosmetic rewards including legendaries and the best source of revenue is farming mobs in a zerg or speed clearing the easiest dungeons.
I’d like to see different content that’s more skill intensive than remakes of existing zones. The queen’s gauntlet was awesome. I’d like to see more of that.
The real question is, are the keys worth buying gems for? And since the change to the BL chests loot table, are the keys still worth the time investment to farm them?
How is anything you just said relevant to the topic.
Lets review the thread shall we.
Op wants: Ammo as a consumable that can be crafted and has different forms that yield different bonuses. Buff range weapon damage and or range. Making certain mobs range only (aka flying) and adding wild game to the game.
You chime in saying it would be a good resource management model….
And from your responses I can see how mashing keys would appease you.
Yes because anyone who disagrees with you is an idiot. Gotcha.
GW2 can use some work, yes. But this isn’t the way to go about it.
Duels aren’t about competitive PvP, we have sPvP for that. Duels are like the costume brawl; fun between friends while waiting in PvE.
And we all wait in PvE.. wait for Teq to show up.. wait for a friend to reach us in a JP, wait for someone to login for our dungeon run, etc etc.
I’m no PvP mongul, but even I dueled in other games for kittens and giggles.
The only real issue I have with this is that more HP (difference between veteran and normal mob) doesn’t make the events harder, only longer.
Personally I’d like to see more Teq and worm like events with the possibility of guild or private overflows. I don’t need cash rewards… but account bound skins and titles are always nice.
Oh and make fractals more worth while too…
In case you’ve never noticed LS releases have been riddled with bugs multiple patches in the same day. Then another the next then another after that day. It takes them 3/4/5 days to fix bugs in content. It seems they don’t even test 9/10ths of their content.
Maybe after the China release we’ll see more changes in the core game. Right now its like they are throwing the LS at us while they work on something else.
Why do people keep posting examples or assumptions about games that are ridiculously out of date.
I suggest before using a game or class as a reference you actually see how said game or class is currently.
Why do people keep posting tangential topics in post about ammunition and expect people to interpret it their way?
And no, I will not re-install wow just to satisfy you. In fact, I’m quite content with the current system for elementalist as-is.
My earth elemental would like a word with you next to this quicksand pit.
Raids.
Yes I said it.
Make guild instances where guild leaders can taxi in guests and all those in the guild can enter.
Resource management in games is actually a good thing.
It provides strategy instead of mindlessly mashing keys.
But, this proposed idea is limiting an already inferior dps model.
Mana is not a proper resource management model. Ammo is not a proper resource management model either.
Thief initiative is.
Nothing in this thread points to a proper resource management model where you balance level, sources of income vs sources of usage. And most games that use mana fail in that respect as well. Just look at world of warcraft’s mages… if the fight is longer than 5 min your SOL (unless you’re arcane that works on a 2 minute mana cycle using evocation, which was fun to play).
You need organization to down this dragon. Usually that’s where guilds come in.
The game needs more content that requires brains and coordination. Once the player base gets organized and learns how to play as a group in this multiplayer game, then we’ll get more interesting content.
If we ask them to dumb everything down.. well then everything will be a mindless zergfest like all the other bosses in this game… where you afk on auto-attack.
Maybe after the China release we’ll see more changes in the core game. Right now its like they are throwing the LS at us while they work on something else.
Next you’ll want mana for elementalist? My fire elemental would like some words with you over by that tar field.
For the people who aren’t getting loot… are you standing in the coloured circles around the Assault Knights as they appear? (…)
I’ve gotten loot for the first three knights I killed. After that nothing, so I’m wondering if its a once per daily reset thing.
And yes, the colored spots on the ground are very important.
[EG] from SOR runs it every night. I have yet to encounter the ‘invisibility’ bug.
The bug occurs if you burn Teq’s health down 25% or more during a burn phase. You can’t chain the burn phases anymore.
I suspect the China release is sapping most of the devs time. Once that’s out the door maybe we’d see the “fixening”.
I would much prefer seeing the elites balanced across all professions. Some of our elites aren’t as elite as others. Moa.. Moa.. Moa.. in PvE anyway could use some tweeks. Love it in WvW though!
On ebay all the trolls are in queensdale. Its the new barrens chat it seems >_>
Many of us stopped doing Tequal until Anet fixes the invisibility bug. No one wants to get banned for “exploiting” due to this bug.
Farm Teq daily.. excellent source of karma.
Why do people try to make one game into another game?
Having a focus on something doesn’t exclude the other. We’ll see where it goes after the China release.
For some, just having a tiny something to show that they accomplished something (like making it through the living story) is part of that enjoyment.
Didn’t we already get that with the meta rewards? (and other temporary rewards during each release)
Why should they give loot at the end of the living story? Do people play the game to have fun or are they playing to collect “wealth” ?
The ability to salvage more than 25 items at a time is win in my book… especially while salvaging a stack of 250 cloth scraps.
Since the content is balanced around rares / exotic armors (besides worm?) I don’t really feel like there’s a grind. Sure I got my legendary and it was a long process.. but I didn’t need it.. I wanted it. Same goes for ascended armor. Don’t feel I need it, but eventually I’ll want it.
I just put it in another thread, so I’ll add it here:
Gem store elite, same strength as a racial or the Mistfire Wolf:
Hero support: Summon a random alt from your account for thirty seconds. Uses generic class skills or those associated with its primary weapon if possible. For players with no alts, a generic NPC is summoned.
Except these elites aren’t related to your race nor your profession.. simply generic. Why would my human thief help my sylvari elementalist? It makes sense when a sylvari elementalist summons a fire elemental, or some plant thing. It makes sense when my human thief summons a thieve guild’s help, or gets “possessed” by a human God. But why would one of my toons summon another?
The elites should be related to our character somehow (profession, race, living story achievements, personal story) or at the very least be a mystical creature like the mistfire wolf.
(edited by Xia.3485)
I think a balance pass on the elites is in order.. some of them are simply not “elite”.
Well that’s his business, and many people do
To the extreme of wanting NPC allies instead of talking to others in game? That’s kind of sad really.
… come to your assistance. LOL, and heroes don’t talk back.
So very sad.
Because sometimes, it’s much easier to go out and solo than it is to try and form a group to play for 30 minutes.
But other than dungeons / fractals / teq and worm, do you really need a group to clear the content?
I would love them to implement this somewhere, but not in all PvE. I would love the option to do this even if it was implemented lazily in like a single dungeon.
The living story instances were like this, you can easily solo them. So is the personal story. So…
Besides, why do you want to play a massively multi-player online game solo?
… guild?
The only thing I solo is the daily achievement and jumping puzzles. (Even with world bosses people group up for better loot, like on temple trash).
If you’re told to stack on a tag you kittening stack.
Among everything else I’ve seen from this post… Am I being trolled?
They have a command to check resource and count the players within a small radius of them. Stacking on a commander at marionette allows him to count the whole lane quickly and efficiently.
Its sad that people who don’t understand believe those who do are “trolling” or being stupid.
