It’s not so much the salvage tweaks as it is having far more demand for the materials. Leather is now needed in almost identical quantity to cloth for Ascended armour, for example, and Precursor collections are proving to be a huge drain on Spiritwood, Deldrimor and even Elonian Leather.
People who feel compelled to rush things are paying high prices. You can either pay the high prices too, or you can be one of the ones to gather the materials and sell your creations for those high prices, and profit, only to turn around and craft your own gear once the price spike dies down. The choice is yours!
The only issue iam having is with the Shatterer .. He just dont do the crystal anymore ..
the corals one i found 4 today .. iam gonan try tomorrow atleast some progress is being made .
Shatterer does the crystal attack in every fight, it’s always the thing he opens the battle with. The problem is that he’s vulnerable to Blind, so anyone applying the Blind condition to him will make the crystal attack miss 100% of the time. Shatterer isn’t a Champion or Legendary creature, he’s just a structure, he has no resistance to Blind.
Other bosses like him that were also vulnerable to Blind (Great Jungle Wurm and Golem Mark II among them) were changed to no longer be vulnerable to Blind during one of the big world boss revamps. Somehow, Shatterer got missed on that balance pass. Now that it’s actually tied to a collection, I would hope they’ll go back and fix him so that Blind no longer works on him, but we might be waiting for a while.
Impact Strike is our best skill to damage break bars. Yes, the last part of the chain isn’t very useful in PvE compared to PvP, but there’s nothing stopping us from just doing the first two hits.
In a lot of the new PvE content, where other players around you might not understand how break bars work, being able to punch above your weight using Impact Strike, Palm Strike and various Steals can be a big help when dealing with a lot of the new foes.
If you got that mail, but legitimately have GW1 achievements, bring a GW1 character back into the Hall of Monuments in that game and you’ll get them all back.
Those nodes were initially introduced as achievement rewards in earlier, temporary content. At those times, you didn’t need to “buy” them, just perform certain in-game tasks during the limited time they were available to unlock.
With that content no longer available, it left some people with the nodes and others without, so along with most of the other temporary Living Story Season One achievement rewards, it was brought back and put on the Laurel vendor for people to buy if they wished. Nowhere near as profitable as earning it in the first place, but at least the option is there.
Without being able to see where it’s located because you didn’t post a screenshot, I’m going to guess that it’s the point of interest located near the end of the Jumping Puzzle. Enter the JP at Drydock Scratch, fall all the way to the bottom (you might have to progress a ways through the JP first, I don’t remember the entire bottom layout), then walk there to find the PoI.
It’s super rare, but it exists. Happy Crowbarring!
Why do you hate kittens?
Anyway, channeled moves still hitting people in stealth is the intended design, and will not be changed. Stealth isn’t invulnerability, it’s not a failsafe to shield you from all damage.
Thats a though, added bladed chest boxs(all of them, including the chest) to the airship cargo, not sure what else they could add to make opening them worth it.
You already can get bladed armour from the airship cargo. Just not the chest piece, of course.
No achievements for existing leg. weapons?

Aren’t all the craftable precursors supposed to be accountbound?.
No, they aren’t. If you craft Dusk via the collections, you can then sell it on the Trading Post.
The upcoming new set of Legendary weapons will not behave like that. The precursor for Nevermore will be account bound on completion, as will the final Legendary version of the weapon.

You don’t have to make another Twilight for the achievements, just another Dusk. Go through the effort of crafting Dusk to get the achievements, then sell it on the Trading Post to recoup your losses.
Precursor crafting is something that takes time and effort. You didn’t invest that time and effort by acquiring Dusk previously via either the Trading Post, the Mystic Forge, or an incredibly lucky random drop. The system is working as intended.
There’s supposed to be a small chance of getting the chest armour in the end chest from a T4 day cycle or a T4 night cycle.
Nika is a Mist Champion in the Stronghold PvP game type. You got an item that gives her an alternate costume, which you can select before playing Stronghold.
The bug is caused whenever your “effective level” changes. This will only happen in lower level zones, and can be fixed by swapping your dodge trait, but that will only last until your effective level changes again.
Arenanet is aware of the issue and is working on a fix.
After seeing the implementation in beta, I was hoping that there would be a UI update by the time it reached release, but that wasn’t meant to be. The data-mining work of the Reddit community did list it as being just like a PvP Reward Track, though, and the list of rewards that was posted there matched up exactly with what my own experience has been, right down to the 10x Vicious Claws I mentioned in my last post.
If you search on Reddit you can find the exact data-mined list of rewards, if you want to compare it. Find the list, go to a zone you haven’t touched at all since the expansion’s release, and see if the rewards match up.
Well, you could spend 20 minutes in Dry Top doing the sandstorm events and come out with 4 gold worth of Coarse Sand to sell on the Trading Post, along with whatever else drops along the way (hi, Charged Lodestones!).
You can unlock the Itzel village waypoint in Verdant Brink and glide down from there to the Flax farm on the jungle floor, harvest the eight nodes, and make 1-2 gold depending on how lucky you are with the results.. then repeat on every character you have.
There’s lots of options available to you, you just have to look for them.
If as a Daredevil, you wind up being defeated in a PvP match (it happens to everyone, occasionally), when you respawn you won’t have actually regenerated all of your endurance yet, due to your higher maximum bar. If fighting is particularly close to your spawn, you might not enter it at full strength as a result.
Please fix it so that a respawning Daredevil comes back into play with the full 150 Endurance!
After you receive that reward, the system will randomly pick an item from the list of potential rewards, with the higher up items having a higher chance of being selected.
There’s no randomness in the Map Rewards, it’s set up exactly like a PvP Reward Track, except only the next reward is ever visible in the game. There are forty rewards available in each map. Larger prizes await at the 20th and 40th reward, which will each be 10x the primary reward. So using Straits of Devastation as an example, your 20th Map Reward will be 10x Vicious Claws. By the time you’ve reached that reward, you will also have received 3 Charged Cores and 2 Charged Lodestones as earlier rewards.
Proceeding onwards from there, the 21st to 40th Map Reward, Charged Cores get dropped entirely from the reward lists, instead with 5 Charged Lodestones taking their place.
The only thing I’m not sure of still is exactly how the rotation on the maps will work. Will your progress be saved for eight weeks later when the original rewards return on a given map? Or will you carry over your position to the newly rotated reward track once it comes in? We’ll find out when a rotation happens, I guess!
The login rewards reset after 28 days, back to the beginning.
If you don’t log in on one day, you don’t lose your progress either (or skip ahead a day). You’ll pick up right where you left off.
Heart of Thorns legendaries will require the Tier 4 Mastery, as it says explicitly in the Tier 4 Mastery description. You won’t be able to make it for several weeks anyway, until they patch in raids.
Any1 got Bladed Chest and Mordrem Saber?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Xiahou Mao.9701
The Bladed Chest can be obtained randomly by completing all five Meta Events in Verdant Brink in one cycle. If the map succeeds at that, it has a chance of being in the final chest.
Last night, a patch fixed problems with the Pact Encampment Meta Event that would stall at a Sylvari traitor event. That was keeping people from completing all the Meta Events, so now we should see the chests start to appear.

I can’t answer your questions directly, but you said that you “gave up playing GW2”. That implies that you played it before. So why not just download the game again and try it for yourself? Find out first hand how it runs before you decide if you want to buy the expansion.
The Hallowe’en instances don’t give Mastery XP. This is a bug, but it’s been announced that they won’t fix it this year.
There was a bug where if you bought the lines in PvP or an instance, you didn’t qualify for the rewards.
Try going to the Heart of the Mists. A special NPC was added just inside the lobby there to fix similar issues. Try talking to that NPC and see if things are made right.

Eternity hasn’t changed. However you obtain both Sunrise and Twilight, you toss them both into the Mystic Forge to get yourself Eternity.

I think he’s referring to the Gift of Battle required for old Legendary weapons that could only be bought through playing WvW.
He said “craft precursor” and “PvP”, so it doesn’t sound like it’s a complaint about the Gift of Battle, no.
They like to stealth before starting their combo, so even having a visual tell isn’t necessarily going to help.
Your best bet is probably to make sure you’ve got a stunbreak (or two) on your utility bar if you’re in an area with Bladedancers. Or alternately, keep your distance.

You aren’t forced to play PvP or WvW to craft a precursor. You can buy the Memories of Battle and Shards of Glory on the Trading Post from other players.
Similarly, WvW players can earn Hero Points by gaining WvW ranks (though it might take longer), and PvP players don’t need to earn Hero Points at all as their Elite Specs are already unlocked as long as they own the expansion.
I hope you will understand what you suggest is exactly the definition of a grind.
Then don’t grind? Just play the game and you’ll get there in time.
If you’d rather take the time to play weasel words on the forum, it’s going to take you that much longer. And it won’t get you that dev response you seem so desperate for.
Mastery points require gear we can't use

I’ll admit, I wasn’t expecting there to be less points to get than there are to spend. The only discrepancy I can find is that the wiki page lists two ranks in fractal mastery that don’t appear in-game. Remove those and the total points needed is 59.
Your math is not at all accurate. Once the fractal masteries that don’t actually exist are removed, the total points needed is 49. There are more than enough points available without needing to complete The Emperor.
I’m not sure I can think of a single 20-30 minute event that I’ve seen in the new zones… there are meta event chains that can last an hour, but those are made up of series of smaller events, which each award close to 20k experience. Over a 6 event chain, that’s 120k experience, a 9 event chain is 180k experience. Suddenly that’s not quite so bad.
And if you don’t like doing the events, just pop some of the myriad XP boosters you’ve undoubtedly been sticking in the bank and run off to kill random critters. Just turning on a Birthday Booster on my character is making normal enemies give me 2500 XP each if they’ve been sitting alive long enough to earn their bonus XP. If I actually went out and stacked the other XP boosters I have (hello, Killstreak booster!), that would go even higher. 5000 XP a kill equals an event completion after only four kills. All you have to do is find a quiet spot in the jungle (or Orr, for Tyria Masteries) and just run roughshod over things.

You have five character slots, six if you preordered Heart of Thorns as a veteran player. You have the capability to acquire and make use of all of those things. You’re just choosing not to.
There are more Mastery Points in Central Tyria available than you need to max out all available Masteries. So if you really intend to never create another character, then you can just accept that you aren’t going to get the Mastery Point from The Emperor’s New Wardrobe. It won’t make you any weaker, you’ll just need to get a point from somewhere else, like the Karka Queen.
Pre-HoT, due to the restrictions you’re placing on yourself, you were already locked out of titles like Grand Artisan and The Emperor from these achievements. So this shouldn’t even be a new complaint for you, unless you’re just unaware that there’s more Mastery Points available to obtain than you need.
That is correct. You can still restart the mission if you have individual members who haven’t yet done it and still need their individual reward, but the guild won’t get any extra Favour from it.
The Hero Challenges in the new maps introduced in Heart of Thorns are worth 10 points each. Go seek those ones out and do them to attain your Elite Specialization more quickly!
It only accepts the actual Hallowe’en achievements for credit. The dailies don’t contribute, despite how it’s worded.
Well, you can play PvP, where all of them are unlocked by default.
What kind of source do you need? It’s not possible. Writs of Experience cannot be used by level 80 characters, and Tomes of Knowledge give you a Spirit Shard when used at level 80. There’s no “source” needed to know that.
It doesn’t work.
You need to equip the Elite Specialization before you can equip the Longbow or the traits.
The Elite Specialization can only be slotted in the bottom-most trait bar, the one with the gold outline.
Neither Writs of Experience nor Tomes of Knowledge will progress Masteries.

What would be the fastest way to get hero Points?
You can get them by playing World vs. World. New items will be given to you when you gain ranks, and you can spend them with badges at a new vendor to unlock Hero Challenges either in central Tyria or the new Heart of Thorns maps. Unlocking Heart of Thorns Hero Challenges costs five times as many components, but gives ten times as many points, so that should be the way to go.
If you already have 200+ Hero Points left over (which means you had world completion), then you’d just need 200 more from the above conversion. Which would be.. 100 WvW ranks or so? Whatever the case, you can get them all without setting foot in PvE if you really want to.
There’s a new achievement for clearing scale 50. Completing that achievement should open up the merchant.
If those NPCs annoy you, then you shouldn’t just complain about it, you should take action.
Load up an Engineer character, find the moving NPCs who get in your way in Lion’s Arch, and hit them with some Slick Shoes. You won’t regret it.
Are you doing any events besides the Breach? Did you do the same boss in every one of those fifteen Breaches you did?
If the answer to those questions are “no” and “yes”, respectively, then that’s your issue. If you repetitively farm a single event without doing anything else, you’ll stop getting rewards from it.
I would not recommend deleting your character even if you don’t like the race. If you do so, you’ll feel bad as birthday gifts keep piling up. The third birthday gift gave people access to dyes that are worth up to 1000 gold on the Trading Post, after all.
Spare yourself the pain and just get a new character slot, remaking that class on it.
I’m sure pre-downloading has been going on for some time over the last few months. We know Verdant Brink is already on our computers, after all, from the beta. A lot of other stuff should also already be downloaded, and there’s still two weeks to go for them to sneak more in.
Without getting too much into the “are world bosses worth it at all” discussion, if you have to pick one of the lower level ones to do, make it the Svanir Shaman/Frozen Maw. It’s the only lower level world boss that will guarantee you two rares instead of one. You’ll get the one bonus rare in the 1/account daily wiggle chest in the corner, but the Svanir Shaman’s open-world chest always has at least one rare in it as well, which makes it more rewarding than Shadow Behemoth. Fire Elemental and Jungle Wurm at least have the extra champ bags.
No, only specific Pistol skills were buffed. Vital Shot, Unload and Sneak Attack.
You did it with two different characters, that’s the problem. You need to do for a second time with a character who’s already done it before to get credit for that achievement, or any other Story Journal achievement.
Be thankful as a Thief that, with Bountiful Theft, you’re one of a very limited number of classes that has a reliable way of dealing with Stability. If a Warrior runs into someone with Stability, the only ways he can deal with it are to wait for it to expire or to hope he has enough crowd control abilities to work his way through however many stacks they have.
