This also doesn’t take into consideration that Arizona, which is considered in the mountain time zone, doesn’t recognize daylight savings time. For half of the year, Arizona’s time is the same as the Pacific Time Zone. The other half of the year is the Mountain Time Zone. I believe in some circumstances, Arizona is actually referred to as being in the Arizona Mountain Time Zone, which would theoretically make it time zone #8.

Saskatchewan is the same way with ignoring daylight savings time, but it’s between Mountain and Central time, so that’s another one added to the list then.

There are Four Regions Time Zones in North America. Pacific, Mountain, Central, and Eastern.

No, there’s seven.

Alaska has its own time zone on the west, while in the east Atlantic Canada has the Atlantic Time Zone, and the island of Newfoundland has its own special half-hour difference Newfoundland Time Zone.

Technically, a handful of islands in Alaska belong to the Hawaii Time Zone, but adding that is a stretch, as would be adding Greenland’s time zone that’s past Newfoundland. For continental populated North America, we can say there’s the seven time zones.

Rendezvous. But yeah, Vigil Keep seems like it’ll be the default spot, but perhaps the playerbase will migrate elsewhere. Rata Sum and Ebonhawke both have convenient setups for banking/crafting, and Divinity’s Reach is already popular.

For all we know, Vigil Keep will be even more convenient than Ebonhawke.

I think some people are confusing story elements and gameplay elements. I realize that enemies respawn and thus there are an “infinite” amount of them, or that dungeons are repeatable so we blew up thousands of molten facilities, but those are gameplay elements.

Story elements are things like, we destroyed scarlets reason for the krait helping her, why are they still helping her? we blew up the factories that make the airships and the molten weapons, why are they still being used in later stories?

The story is supposed to progress in a logical fashion. Sure there are gameplay elements to consider, but the story itself should still be logical.

Is it really that hard to find logic?

The Molten Weapon Facilities were destroyed, yes, but not until they’d been in operation for several months. We’ve already determined from the dialogue with Marjory and Kasmeer that real time and game time are equivalent for the living story, as they mentioned the Molten Alliance being formed ‘a year ago’. There were several months between the first appearance of the Molten Alliance and the time we finally got into their facility to destroy it. That’s a decent-sized weapons stockpile.

We attacked the airship factory in Twilight’s Arbour, yes. But there’s two points about that. First, how long was it in operation before we found it and shut it down? And two, the likely more important point, there were Aetherblade airships before that factory. Whether they’re simply stealing more from the Pact, or they’ve got another factory somewhere else producing them, we don’t know. Shutting down the one factory in TA would hurt Scarlet, but that doesn’t mean it cripples her.

And for the Krait, yeah, we foiled Scarlet’s plans at the Tower of Nightmares and killed their prophet. So why are they still following her? Well, she delivered them their prophet, the Toxic Hybrid, and.. we went and killed it. Don’t you think that maybe, just maybe, they want revenge now? I’m not sure what kind of world you’re living in where you’d think that the Krait would just shrug off the death of their prophet and give up, going back to what they were doing before. Scarlet provided them with something very important to their culture, and we took it away from them. If anything they should be even more fanatical as followers now. It’s a far cry from the complaining Dredge and Flame Legion captives from Flame and Frost, the Krait society would be going all-in for bloody vengeance against the heretics.

There’s logic to be had. The only question is, how much effort are you actually putting in looking for it? Do you have a vested interest in perceiving things to be illogical, for some reason?

If people’s viewpoints on these stories is going to be “when the players win, the enemies need to get weaker”, then that implies that either there can never be a strong, world-threatening enemy to face in the living story, or that weeks and months of events have to be skewed so that players winning becomes physically impossible. “Well, here’s the Molten Facility dungeon, but since Scarlet is going to need more Molten weapons later on, the Berserker and Firestorm at the end will fully heal themselves whenever they reach 50% health” “It’s time to raid Twilight Arbour to shut down the airship factory, but when the Clockheart is reduced to 0 HP it will explode in an undodgeable blast that instantly kills the players, ending the dungeon without any rewards”

Personally, I’d rather have the option for a short-term victory and accept that the enemy’s strength may still increase for the sake of a good story.

(cue complaints that this isn’t a good story)

How does Zhaitan keep getting all these Risen to throw at people? Sure, he had a whole continent’s worth, but it’s been a year and a half since the game launched now. People have killed millions, if not billions of Risen enemies. In fact, some people have already completed the Personal Story and killed Zhaitan himself. So why are there still so many Risen? Zhaitan is such a Mary-Sue!

C’mon, guys. It’s an MMORPG. You can’t try to justify “where do all these enemies come from” given the scale of slaughter and genocide the players put forward wherever they go. You just have to accept it, and that’s true whether it’s talking about Scarlet, Zhaitan, Kralkatorrik/Jormag (how many Shatterers and Claws have been killed since the game’s launch?), or those bandits in Queensdale that pour out by the dozens each five minutes to attack a farm.

How long is the marionette going to stay?

It should be far more easy to find out how long time gated Conent is going to stay….
ArenaNet obvously knows and people obvously want to know…
So why are they not telling us ingame? Is there a strategy behind this madness?

The Marionette will stay until story reasons say that it shouldn’t be there. So it might go away in a week and a half if Scarlet brings it to attack Lion’s Arch and a new event happens there, or it might go away in a month when Scarlet is killed by the being she’s probing underground for, or it might go away in a month and a half when the players capture Scarlet and bring her to justice.

If they tell us now exactly how long the encounter will be there, that’s spoiling the timeline on Scarlet’s plans and/or her life expectancy.

I believe the people who saved for 6 months to make 300g for a dye which is now going to drop to 50g will be pretty frustrated for having 5 months of progress completely wiped. Those people just might look to switch to another game where progression is safer.

And the people who looked at the trading post and said “that’s a cool dye colour, but 300 gold is an absurd price” are going to be happy now seeing that they can either try to get the dye again from the dye pack, or that the price will drop from the new supply so that they can buy it for 50-75 gold instead.

I honestly doubt that there’s many people in the game who were saving up the 350 gold that Deep Glacial Sky was posted at with the intention of actually using it. The price inflating that far seems like me more to be a circle-jerk of speculation and flipping. Especially given that this isn’t the first time that these dyes have been re-issued.

They’ll be back up there eventually anyway, if the speculators can be patient. Just that in the meantime, people with less gold available will have the ability to get the dyes they want at a more affordable price.

Praise for much clearer red circles!

I believe the reason those circles look different is because they’re signalling an attack that you actually can’t dodge, so you need to get out of the circle entirely before it hits.

Hopefully it’s something we see more of in other places for “undodgable” attacks.

All the game’s dungeon content and the Living Story developments can be played without touching the Personal Story at all, if you are so inclined.

overflow map? what is it?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xiahou Mao.9701

Xiahou Mao.9701

Each zone map in the game has a player limit, which isn’t publicly known but is likely between 150-200 players. If too many players are in a zone, new incoming players are redirected to an “overflow”, a copy of that zone map intended for the extra players. If you’re playing on European servers, you might be sharing your overflow with players from German language servers, Spanish language servers or others, as overflows can mesh different server populations together if multiple home servers are full.

When room opens up in your home server’s zone, the option will appear on the screen to let you enter it and leave the overflow. With the Twisted Marionette event in Lornar’s Pass now, room on your home server should clear up once the event finishes. If the event fails, you’ll be instantly killed by the Marionette boss, no matter where you are in the zone, so when that happens to you you’ll know you should be able to join your home server soon.

Of course, if you don’t want to try to fight the Marionette yet and are just trying to explore, you might want to stay out of Lornar’s Pass for a few weeks, just to avoid that kind of random dying that’ll result from a full-on Aethercannon blast.

500 gems for the new Mask

Xiahou Mao.9701

Here is my justification for the price.

This is one of the very few skins in game where you can actually wear your helmpiece while showing the rest of your head features. Hair, stubble, ears, e.t.c. The other two AFAIK are the Masks and the Monocle.

So if you are the type of player who likes to prance around in LA with full armor except for an exposed head, this is something for you.

Just wanted to note this in case some people don’t know, and even if you know, Vol, there’s always someone else who doesn’t!

On the Hero screen, there’s little checkmark boxes next to your Helmet, Shoulders, Gloves and Backpiece equipment slots. By clicking those boxes you can toggle the appearance of those armour pieces on or off. As a result, you can have a character wearing full armour but with their head exposed and visible without needing to buy a mask or tattoo on the gem store.

The way the game works, level difference between player and monster does make a large difference in effectiveness. A lower level player attacking a higher level monster will do less damage and get an increased number of “glancing blows” that do half damage. When it’s a higher level player fighting a lower level monster the opposite is true, though the level scaling system should ensure that players are never more than a few levels above the monster they’re facing. There’s a few areas in the game where you can be 4-5 levels higher than the monsters, and it’s very noticeable, they’ll die in only a few hits.

That effect of level disparity is used by the game to increase challenge in several areas, particularly with dynamic event scaling. In an end-game area like Orr, you might find a level 80 event where various monsters will attack a point and you’ll need to defend it. But if lots of players are present to help, the level and total number of attacking monsters will increase to up to level 84, four levels higher than any player can get themselves, ensuring that the event is still challenging.

For Dredge and stealth, the simple explanation is that Guild Wars 2 stealth, being a generally magical thing, doesn’t just make you invisible but also conceals sounds you make and masks your scent. As such, the methods the Dredge would normally use to find someone are suppressed just as easily fooled by stealth as the visual cues that others use.

Before anyone says that stealth isn’t magical, the class that features the most stealth is a class that can also teleport short ranges. There’s magic involved, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Welcome to the game!

1: Levelling in Guild Wars 2 isn’t quite like levelling in most other MMORPGs. Just killing random monsters is a very poor way to gain levels. Participating in Dynamic Events when they appear, completing Renown hearts, and just exploring the world are all good ways to progress. It’s not like the older games where you’re given set quests and automatically level up once you’re done them and so on (well, beyond the introductory scene for your chosen race, which puts you to level 2).

2: Your damage will improve as you level, but some of that is just that the shortbow simply isn’t a high-damage weapon (for a thief at least, I can’t speak for ranger). Melee tends to outdamage ranged in Guild Wars 2. Grabbing a sword or dagger for your thief, or a sword or greatsword for your ranger, should see your damage output rise. Also, try to ensure that your weapon isn’t more than 5 levels or so beneath your level, so that you don’t fall behind too much in damage. The rest of your gear can lag behind farther, but your weapon is more important.

Of course, at level 5, that’s not really too big a concern for you now.

3: You’ve actually probably not even set foot in your starter city yet! The Caledon Forest zone is the Sylvari ‘newbie zone’, for players levels 1 to 15. Your home city, The Grove, is to the south of Caledon Forest near where you were first born. That’s where you’ll find the bank, crafting stations and probably progress for your Personal Story at some point.

From The Grove, you can venture through the purple Asura Gate to reach the central hub city Lion’s Arch, and from there take other Asura Gates to reach the other racial cities and their own newbie zones, so if you don’t like the layout of Caledon you can try the snowy Norn areas or the militaristic Charr areas for variety. You need to be over level 15 to have a chance in zones besides these starter zones, with the Brisban Wildlands, Kessex Hills, Diessa Plateau and Snowden Drifts areas all being for levels 15-25. You can reach both Brisban and Kessex from the northern areas of Caledon Forest when you’re high enough level.

The cleaning up had gone quicker than she’d liked. Lion’s Arch was still in danger, after all. After relaying information about the disabled device in the sewers, Felicia set off into the city once more, roaming the streets.

Where would they plant other devices? The one had already been found by the Black Lion Trading Post, she knew. The other, obvious places should be taken care of. The bank, the fountain. There had been some kind of commotion at the lighthouse earlier, so it should be covered as well.

Those were all the places to plant dangerous devices to cause the maximum destruction, but they weren’t the places the Whispers agent was worried about. Toxic spores being released in a remote area like the sewers would be just as deadly, especially if they had a chance to spread and linger for some time before being discovered. So what other areas would be remote like that, barely travelled? Preferably with less Skritt?

As she walked past the fountain and glanced towards the travel hub, the small island where the Asura gates were set up, it came to her. She immediately spun on her heel and walked away from those gates, to the northeast, to a quiet area that seemed eternally under construction. In Coriolis Plaza, a krewe of Asura was hard at work building a series of new gates. They seemed convinced that this expansion was necessary, even if no one knew when the expansion would be complete, or where it would go. Would the expansion be for Cantha or Elona, or somewhere closer to home, perhaps? Only the krewe knew, and they were as tight-lipped as one could expect Asura to be.

Regardless, Felicia took her search there, to the quiet, disabled gates. A sparse few Asura were scattered about, but there was no doubt that there were nooks and crannies here for Scarlet to store her devices, and it was close enough to the major populated centres to be a real worry. So Felicia began her search…

Why did it always have to be the sewers?

Felicia Rios wrinkled her nose as she picked through the muck and grime, the stench nearly overpowering. The disgusting filth was getting all over her greaves as she went deeper, in the hopes of finding some of Scarlet’s toxic payload. “They couldn’t pay me enough to come down here..” She muttered to herself as she continued, torch sputtering in her hand. But wait, what was that down a side tunnel? It seemed like a green flickering light. That would-

“Hey! What’re you doing? This our home!”

The sudden, high-pitched voice startled the woman, and her free hand went to the hilt of her sword, though she didn’t draw it. As she placed the source of the voice, she groaned inwardly.

Skritt. Of course. Why did it always have to be Skritt?

“Look, this.. isn’t your home, these are the Lion’s Arch sewers, and I’m-”

“Is too home! Is Nikirrak’s home! Nikirrak found it fair and square. Finders keepers, losers weaker!”

“That’s not how it’s said, and..” Felicia sighed, pointing back over the Skritt’s shoulder, towards the green glow. “Look, I’m just here to find out what that glow is.”

“Oh no, Nikirrak not fall for that! That oldest trick in book!” The Skritt shook his head, proud that he’d outsmarted the human before him.

“No, the oldest trick in the book would be me saying there’s a shiny behind you.”

“SHINY!? Where? Want shiny!” The Skritt turned around immediately, tail swishing through the air as he looked towards the glow.

Feeling a headache coming on, Felicia just pushed her way past the Skritt and went deeper into the tunnel, ignoring the chittering protests from behind her. Sure enough, around the bend was one of Scarlet’s devices. Helpfully, there were numbers on a display that seemed to be decreasing. A timer? If it was a timer, there was still over a day left before this device would trigger. But Felicia intended to take no chances.

Drawing her sword, she shoved it into what looked like a complicated mechanism, then pushed on her blade like a lever. The intricate gears popped out of the device, and the low hum it was making ceased. The numbers stopped entirely, remaining frozen in place for a few seconds before disappearing, words replacing them on the screen instead.

“IMPENDING DOOM AVERTED. HAVE A NICE DAY.”

The redhead tensed up, prepared for some kind of trick or explosion, but nothing came, and soon the screen shut off entirely. Shaking her head, she turned to depart. She’d report this to an Order-affiliated engineer, so that she could be sure it was actually disabled, but in the meantime there were other places to search. And perhaps more importantly, cleaning off her armour and having a bath.

“You owe me shiny!” Nikirrak cried from behind her, but she just stalked off without paying the Skritt any heed.

This just didn’t make sense.

The redheaded woman shook her head, hands clasped together behind her back as she paced back and forth. The city was abuzz, and there were things she needed to do, but at the same time the events that had transpired demanded some thought.

It made no sense. But maybe that was the problem. The person they were dealing with was someone who didn’t depend on sense.

Lion’s Arch was in an uproar. After all of the commotion of the ‘mermaid’, as she was deemed, word had leaked that Scarlet Briar had made her presence known within the city. The Captain’s Council had met, but were trying to keep a lid on things, presumably to avoid panic. But the Lionguard had been rooting around the city since then, and the rumour mills had kicked into high gear. Whispers had spread that some kind of explosive device had been found underneath the Black Lion Trading Post, and almost immediately Gnashblade had blamed the Consortium for an attempt at corporate sabotage.

As an agent of the Order of Whispers, Felicia Rios was privy to knowledge and secrets. It had taken a day for her informant to come through, but she had received word of the encounter between Magnus and Scarlet high in the city, and Scarlet’s threat against it. And that was what gave her pause now. Why did Scarlet feel the need to communicate the impending doom of Lion’s Arch in such a way? Why would she not just remain quiet and let it happen, if it was what she truly wanted? This wasn’t the first time she had acted in such a manner. There had to be something else at play here…

But Felicia could continue to think about what her motivations were, or she could act. And clearly, it was time to act. The kind of disaster that had befallen Kessex Hills occurring in Lion’s Arch cause unparalleled destruction. It would make what happened at the Queen’s Jubilee look like child’s play.

The Lionguard were already hunting for more devices, but there were nooks and crannies to the city that even they did not know existed. Smuggler’s havens, sewer entrances, hidden chambers within the old city’s ruins… assuming that Scarlet was ignorant of these places would be naïve. Let the others deal with the mermaid, if they still felt the need to. She would make sure that the city wasn’t destroyed around them while they did so.

It’s unfortunate that you don’t remember them acknowledging you in the story instance, and that you didn’t complain about this back when it actually happened to get the dev response saying it was a mistake. But a mistake it was.

Lets ignore Tribulation mode as an exercise in frustration, and say the average player can complete Worlds 1 and 2 once per day without a loss of too many lives or bubbles for bombs and the like (also a big stretch).

That means, account wide, you’re getting 12 Bubble Baubles from the chests per day.

This thread has gone two pages without anyone pointing out the most flawed part of this?

The bonus level after World 1 gives you a bonus Bauble Bubble when you’re done with the mine cart. Presumably there’s a similar bonus after World 2 at the end, though I haven’t made it that far yet. The World 3 preview might have a single Bauble Bubble at the end as well (the World 2 preview in April did after the raft ride).

That’s between 13-15 Bauble Bubbles a day, not 12. An extra 30-90 over the whole month.

If you’re going to feign outrage about this, at least try to get the numbers right. If you haven’t even gone and beaten King Toad yet to see that you get a seventh Bauble Bubble after the mine cart, then you can’t seriously care about the skins that much.

If i understand him right, it is about mind games. Not only trial and error, but learn how designer of this place is thinking, where he placed his traps. Reflex his toughts and try to avoid traps.

It’s definitely about mind games. Playing I Wanna Be The Guy: Gaiden last year, after running into enemies throughout the game who had emerged from behind a pile of rocks to usually quickly kill you, when I reached a point where I’d be jumping down from a high platform to land on a lower area with a pile of rocks in front of me, I thought to myself “Well, there’ll be an enemy bursting out of there, so I’d better be ready”. But then I stopped, and realized that that’s what I’d been trained to think, and in a game like this that’s exactly what’s going to get me killed.

So when I jumped down there, rather than aiming my gun at the rocks I turned around and aimed it at the empty space behind me. Sure enough, that’s where the enemy suddenly popped up, and I was ready for it and killed it before it could kill me. I was happy, I’d out-mindgamed the designer. I’d realized what he wanted me to think on reaching that section, and realized what he would be thinking himself. It felt good!

Then I took a few steps forward and got squashed by Zangief coming through the ceiling delivering a spinning piledriver to Chun-Li.

I still felt good for that brief, shining moment beforehand.

First off, congratulations to Kiel supporters — no matter how much I may resent your leader and disagree with your reasoning, you won. Now that the news is out and Kiel has won, the long-time fan of GW1 that I am has to wonder, will we ever see more things in game based on GW1 lore?

The Bazaar of the Four Winds is coming to an end tonight. As a Living Story phase, the Zephyrites who run it are disciples of Glint, a dragon who you just might remember from the original Guild Wars, a dragon who was slain before the start of Guild Wars 2. The Zephyrites are very much a connection to GW1 lore, for those who take the time to learn of their backstory. And unlike a fractal, which does not move story forward and just serves as an interpretation of an event that happened sometime in the past, the Zephyrites look to become a recurring element that will drive the story forward as Guild Wars 2 continues to evolve.

Complaining that the lore of the first game never appears, at the culmination of an event that features a new group and zone that’s intimately tied to lore of the first game, seems a little short-sighted to me!

I play PvP, both sPvP and WvW… I go there consensually, and die when I die, and don’t cry about it.

Funny, since you’ve made a thread here that’s nothing but crying about it.

Again, this might just be an Achievement that you won’t have fun getting. So don’t try. Better to do the things you enjoy than to get upset trying things you won’t. If you’re not cut out for PvP, then you’re not cut out for PvP. No shame in that.

They support consensual PvP, which isn’t a toxic environment. Consensual PvP is engaged in by people who both agree to it.

If you do not wish to participate in consensual PvP, you don’t go into areas where it takes place. That would include the World vs. World battlefields and the Jumping Puzzles located therein. Shockingly, PvP occurs in PvP zones.

It’s not the end of the world if you don’t want to get these two Achievements for the Aetherblades content. If you fear consensual PvP you’re already going to miss out on all the other Achievements from the PvP and WvW tabs, and you’re already giving up on ever having a Legendary weapon due to the mapping of WvW zones and 500 Badges of Honour being needed. So knowing that, what harm is there in giving up two more?

lyssa runes = death

I don’t know if you’re really thinking that through. Remember, one of the boons is Protection, which cuts incoming damage by 33%. The end result is that the Lyssa rune user might get 8 boons and the attacking Warrior might get a 24% bonus to damage, but the effect of Protection still mitigates that to the point where the Kill Shot does less damage than it would if there were no boons (and thus no Protection) up.

Now, if someone found a way to get every boon except Protection on themselves, then they might be in for some pain.

Things to improve

Some jumps, especially the one in World 1 Stage 1 (the secret cave behind the waterfall) are too tight. They are barely doable, even with a running jump. And with the camera backed in a corner like that, that jump is way harder to make than it should be. Please make this jump a bit easier. I am of course talking about the jump that comes after the two jets of water. Try and not make jumps that are exactly at the maximum jump distance.

Surprised no one else has mentioned this yet. There’s an easier way to do that jump in the hidden waterfall cave. Rather than trying the max distance jump that you describe, try jumping straight to the ledge you want to access from the second waterspout. It’s a much easier jump to make!

I didn’t notice this until the Soundcloud was put up for the soundtrack, but after going there I had to go back in-game to double-check and find that the bug does indeed exist.

The mine cart destruction bonus stage doesn’t have the Bonus Stage soundtrack playing! Instead, the Rapids theme from World 2 plays in the background.

Clearly we need a hotfix to make the proper theme play for this very important segment of the Super Adventure Box.

I checked the box. It says "Guild" and "Wars"

No, it’s not okay. That’s why I started this thread. I really would like an answer.

If this sort of thing is what gamers want, please box it and sell it as a stand-alone, and keep this fly outta the soup. Jumping puzzles in a war-lore MMO has got to be the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.

Well, the game has had jumping puzzles since its release. You don’t like them? That’s fine, you don’t have to like them. You also don’t have to do them. However, you’ve apparently decided that you get to stand up on a soapbox and tell everyone else what they can and cannot like, that you get to tell the game designers what they can and cannot make. That strikes me as a little bit arrogant.

If seven months later you’re still bad at jumping puzzles and are upset that the April Fool’s content revolves around them, then you can skip that content. Making forum posts to complain about a facet of the game that’s existed since release that has been largely well-received isn’t productive. And given the overwhelmingly positive reception that the Super Adventure Box is receiving and the number of people it’s drawing back in who have stopped playing, it’s safe to say that your attempt to dictate how the developers should develop their game is going to fall on deaf ears.

Steal was fixed. Did anyone notice?

I just noticed this myself playing yesterday. Previously when you used Steal while out of range of a target, you’d be rewarded with a full cooldown and nothing else. Now attempting to steal from too far away just gives a 4 second cooldown instead, similar to having an ability interrupted. I didn’t see this mentioned in the patch notes at all, but it’s in-game.

The first of many thief buff/fixes to come? We can hope!

Noob Question about Cloak and dagger

The enemy’s not immune, you are. When you come out of stealth with an attack that hits an enemy, you obtain the “Revealed” debuff/condition that lasts for 3 seconds. During that time, you cannot stealth again by any source. Essentially, you’re trying to re-stealth at a time when you’re immune to it.

Wait at least three seconds between your stealth attempts, unless you’re coming out of stealth naturally rather than by attacking.

Fun with flanking strike!

in Thief

The reputation of flanking strike is justified as it do miss very often. Flanking strike consists out of 2 attacks.
A tiny stab with the dagger which removes one boon and after that a clumsy whirl which gets followed by the stronger hit with the sword. The second his is the one which tends to miss very often while the first hit doesnt.

I sat down and actually watched the animation today to check for these misses, because that’s how I thought the attack was myself. It’s not.

When you use Flanking Strike, you first do the whirl without attacking at all. Once you’ve spun around the opponent, you’ll stab with the off-hand dagger (which removes one boon), then stab with the sword in an attack that looks like the auto-attack chain finisher, which does higher damage. Both attacks occur after the whirl.
