Could you boost to all classes their vit by 560 in pvp?
With HoT, dmg has gone up quite a lot. A bit higher vit to everyone, would be fitting.

There are several classes, who really cant afford to roll an amulet, without vit, because their base vit is to low for the HoT pvp.
This limits them quite a lot in their amulet choice.
Everyone having more vit would help this out.

There would still be the difference in vit between classes, because everyone gets more vit, however everyone would have the minimal amount of vit that they need (and some would have more).

Vit is also better vs conditions than power (due to toughness ignoring conditions and toughness making vit as a pair stronger vs power).

Meaning more vit, would also help battling conditions some more, which are considered having become a bit to strong.

Please share your input.

Elementalist stats problem fixed?

Here are some ideas to fix the problems that Elementalists have, with needing to many different stats (with the removal of Celestial amulet).
Especially DPS elementalists in pvp.

1.
All classes their base hp, increased by 560 vit at 80.
At least in pvp.
WIth how much dmg has increased in HoT, and bunkers being tackled in the patch, I think this would be right. It would open up more amulet choices, because you wont need vit on it. Some classes their base hp is so low, they cant really roll without the 560 vit, which limits them in amulet choice.

2.
Elementalist having both their power and condition spells, scale by power or condition.
Whatever is highest. We cant make a build with only power or condition, like other classes. Our attunements, overloads and such have both power and condition spells.
With this change, we can remain hybrid (power and condition), without an overneed for stats. As we would only need either power or condition dmg to boost both.

3.
Make Ferocious winds in air specialisation, give a lot more ferocity from precision in pvp than pve. From 7% to 40% or so (can cap it so that you cant get over a certain number combined with amulets and such, if one were to use Marauder for example).

Now DPS ele can pick for example (some other classes might like it too btw):

Make this new amulet.
Power: 1050.
Precision: 1050.
Toughness: 560.
Healing power : 560.

There are some other amulet options too (Knight, Rabid and the new Paladin, if you feel you dont want the extra healing power and rather have more toughness/vit and a little bit less precision and ferocity).

As DPS ele with air specialisation, you will gain quite some ferocity from your precision and than some extra from the new preview patch fresh air trait (250 ferocity for 5 seconds, when swapping to air).

4.
Bunker Eles, will miss out on the ferocity boosts, so they wont be made to strong, because they run earth, water, tempest (no air ferocity boosts). They will benifit from point 1. and 2. though, which is okay I think.
They will have more amulet choice now too.

These thread changes will help DPS ele the most.

5.
Simple changes, so that Celestial amulet removal is no problem.

What do you think about these ideas?

Shield cd reduction

Please significantly reduce the cooldown of our shield offhand spells.
Like 30-50% reduced without the trait.

EDIT:
Anyway, small explanation here:

The shield cooldowns are way to high to become an option as weapon.
Therefore I want to see them significantly lowered.

Indeed.
Cele bunker are super strong atm and I just dont see how the DS change and amulet change will make them unviable.
They will still be viable.

They did quite a lot of dmg for a bunker anyway, so the Cele amulet change will bring this down a bit. With several classes their survival going down, you might not even kill much slower.

The cele amulet change is more problematic for dps eles.
They need more different stats than bunker.
Meaning Cele amulet being gone hurts them more.

Lets hope they give dps ele some useful buffs in the remainer of the patch.

With the removal of Cele and without any gear with healing/vit/toughness/power/condi I refuse to be the masturbation object of a Thief and Mesmer and instagibed over and over.

I can find me another game to have fun with it, this game does not deserve this sort nerve breakdown.

Bunker support aura ele will probably still be fine.
It was too strong anyway.

Dps ele will be in even more trouble though, unless quality of life modificationS changes are made for 26 to help them, apart from silly shatterstone change.

Unless they get compensated somehow.

That boon corruption buff isn’t so big. The smesmer have a boon remover on the sword AA and no one had always sayd anything about that. There’s a large amount of better skills to use than the AA.

Mesmer sword AA is melee range though, unlike Necro Scepter.

So, necro is getting MORE boon corrupt??

I personally prefer something more like Berserker Power. Gaining healing for a period of time based on adrenaline consumption…. increasing either the amount or time (probably amount) based on stages consumed.

It would be more consistent with the rest of our traits, and the way AH currently works is more a legacy of a period when Anet wanted us to be strategic about when to use and when to hold adren. All of those other holding traits have been changed, including Berserker’s Power (which used to be based on holding, rather than consuming aden).

Sure, getting healed on adrenaline consumption would be fine too.
Either on gain or on consumption.

I don’t think Anet is willing to give Ele stats in the specializations or will ever make a mechanic for it either. It is a very good idea, but one problem I see is having more power than ever. For instance: you use marauder amulet and have 2,2k power and then use fire traitline and suddenly you have 2,7k permanent power which is incredibly strong.

Maybe that trait could be made into,
that it will not stack with gear? That would solve the problem that you brought in right?

Currently conditions are a bit too easy to apply and they do too much damage. After this new update condition builds will skyrocket if nothing is done to them and it will be all condition to eliminate defensive aspects like block and invuln.

Also conditions all debuff direct damage dealers and doesn’t reduce condition damage. If I would do something to conditions it would either to be 30% damage reduce overall or then make weakness to affect the condition damage as well.

Good idea.

You want to make Necro scepter autoattack battle boons?
Wouldnt it be a better idea to make it remove boons, instead of corrupt?
Than it would be less crazy right? You could still remove boons with it, but you wont turn stability left and right into fear for example with an autoattack.

Also I dont really get why Necro is given this autoattack boon corrupt, on top of their utility spell called ‘’Corrupt boon’’ getting changed (lower cooldown and less boons=used more frequently) and they already have quite some boon corruption.

If you want to have more boon removal in the game, to battle the amount of boons,
than I believe it would be a good choice, to give a boon removal spell to warriors.
Dont they need more help atm than Necros do?
Than you make the scepter autoattack from necro into boon removal instead of corrupt.

Not really though… I mean, sure if you held full adren for that full 20s, but would you deny your burst skills for that long to get an extra 1k? I wouldn’t.

Just accounting for the Healing Signet alone, it’d take 50 seconds to get that extra 1k.

Exactly. You are not gonna wait with your burst skills to get more health from adrenal health. Thats why I dont like the mechanic.

We should just get x amount of health when we gain y adrenaline.
That would be a better mechanic.

Isnt that a bit dangerous?

I look forward to trying any of these.. I’m not worried about the healing power not boosting some skills much as ele has multiple different ways to heal. Thinking menders or paladin could be a new favorite. In all honesty, Celestial was kitten and a crutch for eles and i am glad its being removed.

Unlike other classes, our weapons, spells, attunements and such, are a mix of power and condi. So if we dont gear for both, one of the two will be in weak state.

Sage will be a weaker version of Cele for support aura ele.

The others you want to use for fresh air?

It sounds small but other classes are getting nerfed pretty hard. I think you will be surprised. Edit you are looking at an average of about 50 HP per second with the HS and adrenal healing buff. Or about 3000 HP more a minute more obviously if u sit on adrenaline alot. 1k HP more every 20 seconds can mean the difference.

Necro gets buffed.
Thief too.

Engi small nerf to scrapper hammer and stealthgyro.
Some tiny buffs to traits on engi specs that scrapper doesnt use.

Guardian nerf and buff (roughly the same, but less Ele around so less group reflect. This will help Guardian perform better on Dragonhunter + can hunt Thief).

Ranger buffed in some utility shouts, which they dont use atm (higher burst meta might be bit more trouble for them as support druid).

Revenant small nerf.

Ele is quite nerfed and Mesmer kinda nerfed hard.

So we will see less Ele and Mesmers.

The others arent really all that nerfed.
Unless there is some significant nerfs to come after the preview.

I kinda find it to be disappointing so far.

Adrenal health 20% buff.
The whole problem that I have with adrenal health is that its underwhelming and I dont like the mechanic.

Are you really gonna be like ‘’hey lets stay in 3 bars adrenaline for several seconds to get a tiny bit more health from adrenal health’’?
No you wont.
So you often wont benifit from the 3 bar adrenaline adrenal health version.
Which makes it even more underwhelming.

It should heal every for x for the adrenaline that you gain.
Not for adrenaline that you keep up.
The adrenaline could energize you and heal.
Like in the "’Warrior overhaul thread’’.

The amount of health I dont know. For whatever is fair.

To the limit.
Nice 40% buff to the healing. Although I rather see this to be a tad lower and make it give more endurance to everyone. That would make it nicer group utility, especially with energy sigil getting changed into vigor. Which means, giving endurance, has gained increased usefulness and is now more wanted.

Cool that a warrior who is suppose to be tough, can help others endure longer right?

Lets hope that there is still more to come.
Like some utility survival and weapon cooldowns being lowered.

If you look at Thiefs, they are getting kinda happy, because they feel their buff changes could bring them back into a good pvp state. They indeed got some nice buffs.

For warriors I dont get the impression yet that we are being brought back.
Sure it will probably be a bit better than before (also due to the game becoming less tanky and more bursty). I do think that we still need a bit more.

Whether the skill is an evade or not the reality is that the Scrapper’s Hammer is both it’s offensive and defensive tools. Hammer 2, 3 and 4 are all designed to be skills that punish the opponent and you are not going to be able to pressure your opponent with auto-attack alone unless they sit still and let you pound their face into mush.

At the same time all three of these skills on Hammer can be countered by players who are paying attention. Besides Hammer Scrapper does not have tools like historical front-line classes that allow them to completely mitigate all damage to them while being able to do damage at the same time.

Keeping these things in mind it is therefore essential that these skills do note-worthy damage when they hit, this is where your pressure is going to come from. Neutering the best thing about the Scrapper because a few people can not either find the skill cancel button vs Hammer 2, time an interrupt skill for Hammer 3, or use unblockables vs Hammer 4 is not an intelligent approach to take.

A 20% increased cool-down on Hammer 3 results in less damage, less pressure and less capability to kill even when the Scrapper uses his or her skills at the best possible times. Something should be done to return the lost DPS, regardless of how ‘insignificant’ the average player might think it would be, as the stated issues were not with regards to the overall damage but with the ability to sustain (against the more inexperienced players unwilling to use the appropriate counter tools at the right time).

Indeed, either put dmg increase on hammer 3 to make up for the cooldown increase or put the dmg increase somewhere else on hammer.

Lack of stat inhereting. Bulwark gyro.
The thing is. A1500 attack can happen, but it gets reduced by the engineer stats to 1000.
Than split into 500 (bulwark reduces the dmg by half), than the bulwark needs to take only 500 dmg as well. Currently it seems to take higher dmg, because it only takes half of the 1500 attack. Correct?

So if that cant be done, thanit just needs way more health to make up for it.

Gyro casttimes.
Good point about the movement issues caused by gyro casttimes.
Their abilities either need to be instant to not cause those issues, or the casttimes dont need to hinder their movement.

The beam.
I suggested that Gyros would be making their abilities, aoe, heals, cleanses etc. happen around the engineer/target, instead of the Gyros, so that it wouldnt matter if the gyro is a bit behind.

This is kinda the same as shooting their abilities through a team to the engineer/target right?

Yeah a leash system would be cool. If its possible to pull a gyro from a lower lvl up to a higher lvl like cliff. I read someone suggestion an instant teleport as well.
One of the two. Whatever works to avoid pathing problems with stairs, cliffs and such.
In skyhammer pvp map, you can jump to higher lvls from those energy jump circles.
Would leash work for that too?

Rangers can do swap pet and it makes their pet appear next to them. Even if the previous one was on a ground on a lower lvl. Maybe the leash or teleport could work like that.
The F button (or different button) could make this happen. Like if no other F action targeted and ready (finishing/reviving target or picking something up), than it will use this leash/teleport.

Some important things that would help pvp without even changing class balance.

-One warning at best vs ppl who lose/leave on purpose, teleport hack, bot, or other forms of unfair play. After that a temporary or perma bann is given.
Better report options for this.

-Also a report for afk button in the report options menu.

-If someone disconnects before the 10 sec timer of the gates has begun, and he isnt returning during that game, than it wont count as a loss when you lose less than 5versus5 ppl whole game.

Doing something about this would make the game experience a lot better

Dont step on them?. It is not like they are not telegraphed where they land.

There are some methods vs traps that work better than others, but they arent always telegraphed.
Test of faith is instant. Instant is not telegraphed.
Traps that are already layed down somewhere arent either.

It shows higher dmg if a condition is cured compared to no condition.
It will do equal dmg with 1 condition cured and with the new 2 conditions cured, because in both cases, a condition is cured, to do the higher dmg part.

It doesnt say that more conditions than 1 is more dmg.

Can we have some properly working Gyros please before the patch goes live?

Like just change for now at least:
Bulwark Gyro.
Bulwark takes to much dmg in pvp.
It seems to take dmg as if the engineer doesnt have stats or so.
It takes way more dmg than it should.
It needs to be able to absorb right/more.
Stunbreak on its toolbelt wouldnt hurt.

And if possible as well:
All Gyro.
Make them keep up with our movement.
How to make them keep up with us?
Make their abilities activate/pulse/explode from the center of the engineer, rather than the gyro. That way it isnt a problem if they cant keep up with us/fly a bit behind us, because they will project their abilities around us.

Shorter casttime on Gyro selfdestruct please.
To keep the selfdestruct around us too, the gyro can teleport/shoot towards us and self destruct around us when the selfdestruct is activated.

Gyros in general being able to take more dmg would be very welcome too.

Would be great to enjoy some properly working gyros.

Thief God Mode

I had a 3 day break, I even deleted the game, came back, got to diamond division in 2 days I got from 17 pips to 30 with DH, solo… what made me come back, seeing the new changes; made me so happy.
It is normal that a thief could kill you fast … it was not normal that mesmer, ele could tank 2 players, sometimes 3
DH’s are like this, good dmg, bad sustain, just the greatest DH’s survive in high divisions, and why, because of mesmers, and eles, they don’t die, and even support god likely the others… now it will change, halleluia

You mean dh will be in a worse spot without assistance from ele and mesmers?
Less Ele also helps the dmg, because it means less group reflects around.

Tempest ele with auras was something that was making it difficult for DH, due to the group reflects and projectile destroy.

However ele doesnt look to be in a good spot so far in this balance patch preview.

How do you think that will influence DH in pvp?

Lets hope they will still do something this patch about our gyros in general,
several other utility spells who rarely till not get on our spell bars and some traits who are collecting dust.

They did say:

Our focus for the engineer has been to improve less used traits and to rework some functionality for scrapper traits. For the core specializations, trait improvement efforts have been made toward creating impactful choices and making each build choice more distinctive.

We havent seen all of this yet.

This would probably be best. The class reworked to working without celestial amulet, without losing the hybrid style.

Celestial has many different stats. We shouldnt be reliant on so many different stats.

Just recently you made a thread saying that mesmers do not need a nerf. I agreed with you. From my point of view, it’s not the “mesmer” that needed nerf, it’s the “chronomancer”.

Now you claim “warrior” is overpowered because “berserker” is overpowered. Please reconsider. Warrior is very weak as a core spec (without berserker elite spec). If anything, they need to nerf Gun Flame, not the warrior.

Do you even know what the Berserker elite spec means? It can be played without rifle and gunflame too and you can play a defensive version with gunflame NOT doing huge dmg as well.

Most warriors with berserker elite in their build, dont even use this glassy gunflame build. Most dont even use rifle.

You hardly know how the glassy gunflame build you complain about works or how to fight against it (you didnt check out how it works=not knowing how to fight against it), yet you ask for nerfs (nor suggestions how).

No warriors in the tourny with this glassy gunflame build (no warriors in the tourny at all), as the only class not present (still were a few thieves).

But really, Cmon… It doesnt really matter if I would know the spec or not… The problem here was that he hit me for 19k with gunflame… Even if I knew have to avoid it, and could do it at any given time, it wouldnt be ok for him running around beeing able to hit someone else that hard either…

Would you be ok if mesmers got 1 skill that could one shot everyone out there, while beeing glassy ofc… Would you be fine with it!? Mesmers having a skill that hit for 19k? Fun times… Coming out of stealth and press that one skill! Awesome!!!

Lets say this happen to you, and then you go forum and ask if people really think this is ok for a spec to do!

They answer you with, l2p, learn to dodge, you can easily avoid it, you dont know what the spec is so your wrong, etc etc… But well, sometimes you gonna get hit by it anyway you say, but they keep denying and tell you that your rank says your wrong etc etc…

I guess you would be fine with it…

Powershatter Mesmers can actually do huge burst from stealth.
All combined for a lot in shorttime too.
However its the task to see the tells when the mesmer does it.

Also the warrior doesnt just press 1 skill and done. Its a build up of different skills, with that one skill at the end. Just as powershatter mesmers combine several things to do their burst (with more defences than that glassy gunflame build I might add).

If you have no clue about the spec, than it just looks very wrong to be complaining about it the way you did and saying ‘’ppl do not look at others their perspective’’
Yes it does matter if you know the spec or not.

I got blown up by Mesmers several times before HoT.

Figuring out how powershatter mesmer worked, helped me greatly when fighting it on different classes. Before that I felt like ‘’…that burst’’ and it kinda overwhelmed . When I understood well how it worked it seemed less powerful and better to handle.

Also you opened the thread in kinda a hostile way, so obviously that increases the chances that some people respond less friendly to you too.
It kinda provokes some people the way you opened.

In the end they gave answers though. You didnt know that warrior build and how to fight that, so l2p is part of it no matter how you look at it
and they gave options how to battle that specific warrior build.

I asked for advice once in Mesmer forum in a friendly manner, how to battle powershatter mesmer once (before HoT), but I didnt enter the thread with kitten to strong, nerf etc. and also therefore got several friendly replies back how to battle it.

You do realise that with the removal of Celestial amulet, we lost a whooping equal to more amount of other stats that we need?

We need to many different stats, due to hybrid nature of ele and low base defence.
Which we cant all get with the removal of Celestial amulet.
Unless we get more in base ele/traits.

Overall we currently lose a lot more than this ’’whooping’’ 250 ferocity gain.

Just recently you made a thread saying that mesmers do not need a nerf. I agreed with you. From my point of view, it’s not the “mesmer” that needed nerf, it’s the “chronomancer”.

This topic kind of got off track… Although I agree with slick shoes needing a look at or change, they are by no means over powered. Their heal may be quick, but it isn’t strong. It has a very low base, which is the reason for it’s low cooldown. If you can stun them or CC them after they deploy it, you can reduce their healing by stopping their extra skills to blast or leap through it.

As for condi ‘immunity’ I am unsure as of where you are getting this from. Yes, they are most likely going to be immune tot he first condi you throw at them (and every 15 seconds later immune to another) I also don’t find their invulnerability is game breaking, it doesn’t contribute to capping a point, plus they can’t use anything while invulnerable. I don’t think they have perma retal either….since they would really only be getting through 1 of 3 sources: elixir B, elixir B trait for being below 75% and the transmute trait… They most likely will do elixir B in the beginning of the battle, so if you get them below 75% boon stripping will do you good.

As for their damage….If they are doing a ton of damage, that means they are squishy themselves, so you should be able to deliver a ton of damage back to them.

Maybe this is from a biased point..unsure of what profession you play as, but I have never ever struggled against an engineer in ranked as my necro.

Well it sure didnt look like the stars needed to align to pull that skill combo off… He did that fairly easy!

You cannot claim that warriors should recieve buffs, while keeping it this way!? ,

Try it yourself. The stars do need to align.
You need to gain full adrenaline with an uber glassy build to go into zerker.
You need to sacrafice about all your survival for that dmg.
The enemy cant have dmg reduction up like protection boon.
Full dmg boons on you and no condition on you that will make you fail
and full vuln on the enemy.
You need to crit with the ability and not have it avoided (no defences/dodge etc up on the enemy).

If you get interrupted/delayed/focussed by someone,
several dmg increases can drop off from you/enemy, reducing your dmg.

Thats why people consider it a gimmick build.

I tryed it a few times. Sure the dmg is huge if you pull it off , but you die about as fast yourself.

No warrior were in the tournaments with this build (no warrior at all).
So it cant be all that good.

I personally dont mind if it gers nerfed, as I prefer a warrior build with sustain, good defences and such, which that build isnt.

I dont buy it! He opened up with this skill combo, he engaged me with this at start!

And I bet that if he manage to pull of half of what you claim here, he would hit crazy hard anyway! Its too much burst in such a short window!

I have no problem with Anet buffing warrior “core specs”, but this needs to go! And I think that the warrior community should be honest about this, instead of trying to defend it, because you loose all credibility when they do!

Also, how can you be sure that when Anet buff warrior survivability/dmg or whatever they have planned, it wont buff this spec further!? Or changes that come in future patches!

Go try it out yourself if you dont believe me.
I didnt lie about it.

Make a warrior.
Equip a rifle.
Look at the traits and utility spells and try to get gunflame as high as you can get.
Amulet and sigils for pure dmg.
And yeah if you only manage half of that your dmg will drop quite a lot or wont hit the target at all (dependable on which half).

This spec wont have access to the survival tools, so if those are buffed, it still wont have access to them. Not at the cost of losing dmg at least.

Yeah, thankfully the meta will change and I’m pretty sure thief will be a part of it, regardless of whether mesmer gets nerfed or not.

You can always voice your concerns about certain features or classes being too strong, thats what the forums are for, but if you take a look at HOW OP presents the issue without reflecting the other side of the coin, it is obvious that you’ll get answers like mine.

So I take it some of the things you said after quoting me with snippet, were meant for the OP/others and not me? You didnt make it look that way.
I think I presented my posts differently (nuanced). Thats why I expected to not receive the same type of answer. Besides I was not talking about Thief vs Mesmer specifically, as I rarely play Mesmer. I do wish balance for everyone though.

Scrapper destroyed the Engineer identity. It is literally contrary to everything the Engineer used to be.

Both engineer with scrapper spec and engineer without, are a mix class/hybrid/jack of all trades.
Dmg with some group support (cleanse, heal and other tools), some cc.
That is what I meant.
Whereas most classes, at least before HoT, where more specialised (excluding Ele).

They’re only buffing autoattacks so what the hell are you on about? Last time that thief was good at 1v1 is also well over 1 1/2 years ago and making claims of thief becoming OP without even having seen the full patch notes or testing stuff is completly out of place given the current situation of thieves.

Personally I don’t think that Dagger AA or Staff (hell no) needed a buff, but what definitely needed a fix was Sword aftercasts and an overhaul of Acrobatics, which is exactly what they’re doing.

Your whole argumentation just screams hypocrisy, “nobody likes being insta killed or killed from stealth” are no valid arguments. Thieves can only 1shot pure glasscanons and the last time a class could actually 1shot people from stealth was mesmers, not thieves.

Those people who are whining about thief possibly becoming a 1v1 monster just show their lack of knowledge about the PvP meta.

You misread, read it literally and black and white, which my post wasnt.
Besides the meta will change. Its not thief preview buffs in current meta.

Beta’s/previews etc. allow for speaking out concerns regarding changes being possibly too strong/weak and not everything someone has has to be classified as whining.
