More than one map in expansion confirmed

What I meant is that you don’t have the three biomes superposed on every map. More over, the canopy can’t be as dense as the ground.
The golden city we see in the trailer for example, there is verticality, but there is no canopy and maybe no underground on this map.
It wouldn’t work in the desertic areas of Maguuma either. So you can’t just say that 1 map HOT=3 maps of GW2.

Even 5 maps would not be enough.

In red what we have now, in black what is still hidden at the middle of the map (Tengus), in green what corresponds to Maguuma as seen on the complete map of Tyria (the world).
It’s smaller, but there are far far less water areas such as lakes and no sea in the middle of it.
I expect therefore much more than 5 maps…

They would never charge 50 $ for only 5 maps…When you look at the map of Tyria(the world, not the continent) Maguuma is big. In fact, comparing current territories with Maguuma map, as there is no sea, it’s almost the same size as the current map.
That’s coming in a future update. We have all the localized VO and subtitles ready to go but ran into a tech issue that was preventing them from triggering and displaying properly.
Yes, that’s what is written in the French patchnote. Nevertheless and strangely, the cinematic is in French xD
and to be honest, season 1 is ten times better than season 2, not bringing it back would break the game just as much!
Yeah, more than a year of unexplained alliances to finally fight that vegetable, that was super fun…
In a way yes, I was so much happy at the end of season 1, seeing the worst enemy in GW history finally dead.
I preferred season 2 by far, better explanations, better narration.
Concerning the recap, that is great, but it would be better if other languages than English could get theirs too…
edit: ok I didn’t say anything about other languages, French has its version, the patchnote in French said that it was only in English for the moment but it is in French.

Maybe battles like in AvA, except that it won’t be Kurzicks vs Luxons but Sylvaris against others
It doesn’t have too much health, but the critical damages are working only in a specific zone. They just have to correct this and it will be okay.
Ehh... can I just get a refund until release?

At least you’ll have learnt that you must think before buying something, not after.
And as said before, you can’t know wheter or not the expansion worths 50 euros because we absolutely don’t know what’s in it.
They will never do this, the exchange rate would collapse.
Right, so a reaper without a scythe is not a reaper, but you give them greatsword instead of adding a new weapon? That is a nonsense, really.

That’s even better as we can transform into a margonite. My dream comes true.
The maguuma is the same as Ascalon or Kryta. It’s like 5 new zones.
Mmmh, no. There is a big part of Maguuma that we don’t see on the current in game map.
Questions about Pricing and Payment [merged]

Good idea! Best way to destroy the ability of exchanging your gold for gems.
We see Rytlock with a Spear.
I’m okay with paying the same price as the original game, if the content is at least as big.
That’s…really ugly.
Imagine the reaction if they would become a playable race. But again I see that as very unlikely.
I would give so much to be able to fly instead of walking x)
Listening to you, they should stop making any content because of the rushers.
Yeah, break untill the release of the expansion on the 26th April for the 10 years anniversary of GW1 (yeah I’m dreaming and hoping at the same time).

You don’t want to play to this, believe me.
You don’t need all of the racial armors to get the achievment, so no, there’s no reason to get all of them (there are 9 racial armors per race, you need to get only 3 of them).
The idea of an armor is good, the way to obtain it totally ruins it.
Seriously, farming 6 times the same zone with the same objectives, that’s the worst grind thing they’ve ever made.
I’ve made it untill the last patch, making this two times more, I prefered giving up.
This was provided to you past year by current living story and latest sPvP update.
Your expectations are fulfilled already than…so enjoy i guess :>
No need for an expansion what so ever.
I hope you’re ironic there.
I do love to dream
I’m hopeful for this in an expansion:
- 4-7 new zones in the Maguuma Jungle(the actual jungle, not this wasteland stuff)
- 2 new dungeons, one of which containing the Mordremoth Elder Dragon fight
- entirely new weapons, and current classes getting access to current weapons
- new slot skills
- possible new race/class
I hope you’re kidding, it would be a ridiculous content for an expansion…
Yes too much grind.
Repeating 6 times the same things to get the the 6 parts of the luminescent armor, that’s just boring, so I’ll just give up, it’s a loss of time.
It is, as it is an option in inventory options.
The difference is that the Centaurs were friendly to begin with. It’s different from, say, walking into the Ulgoth centaur camps where you get attacked on sight. To put it in another scenario, it would be like walking into Lion’s Arch to a polite welcome, and then making barbed remarks about the Archians being descendants of pirates and criminals until somebody takes offense, a fight breaks out, somebody pulls a weapon and then before you know it, a dozen people are dead.
Had circumstances been different, Wynne might have left peacefully and willingly with Caithe and Faolain, and bloodshed avoided.
Modniirs and Harathis were surely nice centaurs…untill they were deported from their lands by Humans. Considering this, you could consider that their war against Kryta is legitimate and that they are not that bad.
So, there are people buying this…lol.
Oh, we have to grind the forts once again. How original…

That question is senseless as we’re playing Guild Wars 2. Connecting GW2 with GW1 is the least they can do.
I think most people critical of the Living Story strategy are concerned about the quantity of content, not the quality.
The living story is bad in both terms of quantity and quality.
The only enjoyable ones were the marionnette and the one in Glint’s lair and Durmand priory.
And concerning the season 1, I just prefer forgetting it. That pitiful and horribly unending “story” about the uninteresting Scarlet, the alliances between her and 37 different enemies, one after another…
Yeah, the most joyful moment in season 1 was Scarlet’s death, because I knew this painful story was finally over.

Where’s the race change? There are always topics concerning this and something people have been asking for years now.
And +1 to someposts I’ve read, there are arguments coming from nowhere.
(edited by Yunielesca.2850)
I hope they put something like this in game even if it makes the 10% of the population that rages about this quit.
10%? You’re dreaming dude. Any subscription would anger far more than 10% of the players, and the publicity made by those leaving on other community websites would severely damage the image of GW, and of Anet.
+ if it’s to pay a subscription, it worths better to play a game in which there are real updates.
Being poor.
So true, I spent so much gold on characters I’m almost not using, what a waste.
Can you stop whining about people whining?
Really?
He’s trolling, meaning that you buy a character slot and there you have your race change.
I agree, and I would appreciate to be able to get there without having to wait 5 minutes because of Marjory.
You don’t want it, believe me. This uggly hat makes you totally bald, even for women. That’s why for the witch costume there is something to hide your head.
That’s really boring to be at most 15 people, really…
Ewww, that’s ugly. Wanted this costume, but not anymore, after seeing this. I thought you see it only when your character is swimming, but you proved it is also when you walk.
Thanks, you made me save 700 gems.
Hi and happy birthday.
For now, 2000 gems are traded for about195 golds. May increase with the halloween update, but it wouldn’t increase that much.
So yeah, it doesn’t really worth it.
You can mix them together, there’s no need to oppose dragons and other enemies. For example Kralkatorrik flying to Elona, Palawa Joko being between two fires. You can even add the living story for the reconstruction of Elona once both are eliminated.
Same for Cantha, deep see dragon attacking Cantha, Emperor asking for help, fight it on the ground as a dragon fight underwater is unconceivable. Finally, living story leading to a revolt against the Emperor blablabla.
See? Dragons are not the enemies of GW lore, it all depends on what Anet will do with them.
I prefer outfits, because there is no frustration with seeing a wonderful armor that you can’t apply as it’s for medium and you’re light, there’s no need for transmutation stones, you can remove it in 2 seconds.
The only minus I see is that there are not enough slots for dyes, 4 slots is really not enough, above all with the raiment of the lich when you see that one of these slots is used for 3 little stones you don’t even see.
They don’t have time for the living story. The whole community is bored, everyone who has been playing for two years now calls for new content, and a big one, not only a ridiculous farm during 2 weeks. They even took a break after only 4 updates…
An expansion has to be, or the game won’t be anymore.
The biggest threat for GW2 has never been the games with fees like WoW or Archeage, the biggest threat is Everquest Next. A F2P with the same philosophy as GW2, that is to say nothing more than aesthetic things in the CS and a big PVE world.
The game being developed by Sony, and a big community coming from the first one, it is the real threat. They even managed to sign with Jeremy Soule and make him stop with guild wars…
That’s why an expansion will come, Arena has no interest in killing its own game.
(edited by Yunielesca.2850)
An expansion is made to make money, making it buyable through gems would be absurd and I don’t wish it, ’cause the price for gems would explode.
There is an expansion in preparation. Colin Johanson said
Now that China has launched we’ve freed up a lot of development resources back to get to those things. We also have a lot of people at ArenaNet and you’ve only seen what some them are working on this last year or two. Since we can’t share a road map of what they’re doing per our company policy, all I can answer is I hope when we’re able to show you what all we’ve been doing in total someday in the future – you’re as excited as we are about it.
The official announcement of an expansion and a date for it.
I have enough about living story, I don’t care about scrolls, minipets that you have to get out everytime you tp, or useless MF buff.
Yeah, an expansion would be the best gift for me.
Tormented are more of a black/purple theme and are terrible looking. How these were ever thought to be one of the awesomest weapons in GW 1 is beyond me. Besides them being pretty hard to obtain, their looks leave a lot to be desired.
In GW1 it is, yes, in GW2 it is not. The tormented weapons had a purple glowing effect “inside” the weapon but in gw2 they decided to put it around which is just ugly.
Same for the voltaic spear that had a beautiful blue glowing effect, in GW2, there is no glowing effect at all.
Concerning the topic, the problem would be solved if they had brought the same system as in GW1, in which you could dye a lot of weapons.
Since April, they seem having decided to get closer to GW1, so maybe they will bring it back.
