I was like yourself for quite a while wondering how everyone got rich..
I’ve opened over 800 champion bags and haven’t had a single exotic, so I’ve given up all hope on that front of making cash. Though, I started getting cash by farming resources in the node-heavy zones like Blazeridge steps, Timberline Falls and Straits of Devastation. A single small area run can yield upwards of 1g. Best of all, the nodes reset every hour so you can practically chain farm them if you have the patience for it.

I wouldn’t suggest it, though.. recently a rich guildy managed to get 2 precursors in 100 rare stave gambles in the mystic forge which made me want to gamble myself.
I spent my last 9g on rare shields and no word of a lie I got a precursor on my very last shot. The Chosen sold for 350g overnight. If you wish to take the risk by all means, but chances are you won’t profit unless really lucky.

Just make sure to do your daily and monthly always. You can spend 1 laurel (1 daily) to get a heavy crafting bag which contains a few t6 materials which will net you around 50 silver/day.

Thief, Mesmer or Necro

Well, I currently have a 35 Mesmer, 31 Thief and a 70 Necro. I made my Necro just a few days ago (used the level 20 scroll) and so far I’m loving it.

I do really enjoy Mesmer, but I feel like Necro are far better damage and survivability. Also, Necro leveling has been so easy with full power + wells. Their AoE is just superb.

If you’re wanting Conditions then yes, Necro is far better. Not only that, but Necromancer’s Epidemic is bordering on overpowered in my opinion. Such a low cooldown, 3 stack of self vulnerability is definitely worth what you get in return.

Personally I love Epidemic during world boss/champion events. There’s always full stacks of conditions on those, fire off an Epidemic and watch the sorrounding enemies melt instantly.

I think the ability has been updated. I know they changed the Necromancers Scepter #2 attack from 3 bleed stacks to 2 bleed stacks. Both variants were showing on the weapon skills pane like the screenshots you have posted above.

Can you notice anything different in the tooltips between the two?

Ye I noticed this happening a few times during my Timberline Falls farm (loads of bears attacking). Though, it doesn’t happen often. Just a shame that when it does happen you’re a silver or two out of pocket :P

Yes the trading post is broke at the moment. Items cannot be bought or sold.
I only need 7 more Glacial Cores to finish my Leatherworking profession and then this happens!
Fingers crossed that it’s fixed soon.

First of all I’d like the Reanimator 5 point trait changed to something somewhat decent.
Then… I’d love to have Aura of the Lich. Minions would have to be improved ofcourse, but it would exploit all nearby corpses and summon a Jagged Horror for each corpse. They bleed on attacks and constantly lose health.

Basically somewhat similar to Lich Form’s Mark of Horror

Imo, Death Magic needs to emphasize the whole group support aspect more and focus a bit less on minions.

Death Magic:

Minor Traits:
Adept- Shrouded Removal- Lose a condition when you enter death shroud.
Master- Reaper’s Protection- When disabled (by stun, daze, knockback, knockdown, sink, float, fear, or launch), nearby foes fear you. This effect can only trigger once every 90 seconds.
Grandmaster- Deadly Strength

Major Traits:
I- Dark Armor
II- Spiteful Vigor
III- Minion Master- Minion skills recharge 20% faster. Summon a jagged horror whenever you kill a foe. 30 second cooldown.
IV- Ritual of Protection
V- Death’s Caress- When you are hit, you have a 33% chance to gain 1% life force.
VI- Scales of Fate- When you remove a condition from an ally, they gain 2 stacks of Might (10S).

VII- Greater Marks- Increases area of marks and marks become unblockable. Staff skills recharge 20% faster.
VIII- Inevitability- Reduce incoming Cripple, Chill, and Immobilize by 25%. When one of these conditions is applied to you, you transfer it back to the source (20S cooldown).
IX- Death Shiver
X- Flesh of the Master- Minions have 50% more health. Gain +20 Toughness for every minion under your control.

XI- Death Nova
XII- Under Death’s Wing- When you enter Death Shroud, you and nearby allies gain 2.5s of protection.

Sounds good.

I tried MM but I wasn’t too keen. Minions were constantly keeping me in combat by attacking stuff when I was trying to kite away. I felt the need to wait for my minions to heal up after every fight, and they also die really fast to anything that uses AoE.

I was breezing through PvE with Dagger/Focus and using wells. I’ll go back to using that

Ok so I switched to full power.
Bloodlust + force sigils, Dagger/Focus, 2 wells with 20% reduced CD, 20% reduced CD on focus, power food, power gear and runes etc.

kills are by far faster. Dagger burns through small group fights really fast, and wells are low enough cooldowns to be used often enough on slightly larger fights.

Im currently using s/d and staff. Ravaging gear, +20% bleed runes, +7% cond. Duration. corruption sigil with two agony runes and using epidemic regularly (when its worth).
Im just curious if going full power would be faster kills?

These two traits could really use a look into. IMO, they should roll Protection of the Horde into Flesh of the Master, Reanimator into Minion Master, make Greater Marks the Master minor trait (let’s face it, everyone wants marks) and add a new Adept Minor trait.

No I don’t want marks, not until they fix Putrid mark at least.

Why, what’s wrong with it?
I don’t really use it as a condition remover as I’m not a high enough level yet where conditions are a problem, I mainly use as a blast finisher with Chillblains and Well of Suffering.

Apologies for another newbie question, but I’m currently leveling a Necromancer (level 40 at the moment) and I’ve basically been full condition damage since level 10. Using corruption + agony sigils, 1 piece condition damage runes, condition damage consumables and traits etc.

I quite enjoy using staff at the moment, and I understand that it’s a fairly good condition damage weapon due to the low CD on #2 ability with bleeds. Though, it also has a fairly strong auto attack damage.

My question to the Necro community is;
What’s faster (better at killing) full power or full condition damage?
I’m guessing Staff + Scepter/Dagger is what’s used for condition damage builds and Staff + Axe/Focus for power.

EDIT: I should add, I have a level 80 Warrior with a fair bit of experience and I’ve played many, many hours of Necromancer in SPvP. I’m just new to Necro PvE. I’d just like to level as fast as possible to 80.

So I’m currently leveling a Necro (37 as thread is created) and my 10 points went into Curses for the +20% bleed duration. I then went into Death magic for the faster cooldowns on Staff skills. I noticed that after a kill I spawn a jagged horror due to the Reanimator trait gained at 5 points into Death magic.

Upon the Jagged Horror spawning it genuinely dies in a matter of seconds, it’s health plummets to 0 so fast I don’t even manage to get into another fight.
Why on earth is this trait so bad? It has a 30 second cooldown aswell…
Even if it happened every kill (having 10+ spawned in an event) would still be pointless as they die so fast and don’t seem to do very much damage whatsoever.

Is there any way to buff these or is it just a really, really terrible trait?

100b on F1 is a big NO , well yes 100b is easy to avoid and got long cast but the cool thing about it it does not consume adrenaline.

nobody takes GS for the F1 Burst because GS used to charge adrenaline not to consume it then used for other weapons and it should stay like this.

I think you’re completely missing the point?
If GS is the only weapon like you say where it’s not used for the F1 burst, then don’t you think that it’s in need of a change. All weapons are intended to have their F1 burst abilities used. if it’s not being used, then it deserves a change.

Changed my Warrior to male again.
Just a little story about why my armour change came about this time round;

A friend in the guild already has several Legendaries and managed to get 2 precursors yesterday within 100 staves. He put me in the mood to gamble so I spent my last 9g or so on rare shields and no word of a lie I got ‘The Chosen’ on my very last shield into the forge.
Sold overnight for 350g so I can now finally afford to spend some moneys.

Anyway, here is my new look and I must say I am extremely pleased with it;

Also might I add. You can still use it with autotarget on. Just make sure the enemy isn’t on your screen or you’re close to them.

For example, say you run 20m forward and your enemy is at the 20m or less, you will target them and go in their direction. if the enemy is 21m away you shouldn’t target them when using it.

Though, it is easier just to turn autotarget off.

My banner with regen works fine.
Poison reduces healing effectiveness (making you heal less).
The banner doesn’t actually stop the condition, it just heals through it.

I’d really just like to see banners being stowed on back to allow you to carry them around without having to haul them around as weapons all the time. It would stop randoms from running off with your banner and actually make using them less of a nuisance.
I really love my banners regen effect and I would absolutely love what I can imagine my warrior looking like with a banner on his back.

EDIT: Noticed there’s another banner topic posted before mine. That has somewhat similar idea to mine, though it’s more in-depth. Feel free to post on this as you see fit.

So I just made a thread and posted it, but got an internal error and lost all the content (not that there was much)

Anyways… it’s probably been said a dozen times as it’s such an obvious/simple idea that I feel would make banners much more viable.

I absolutely loath having permanent regen on my banner warrior. Though having to haul the banner with me every time I want to move is extremely tedious.
I would really like to see the banners being added to the players backs when they are activated.

As for the abilities tied to the banner, I would suggest having the banner pulse every so often to give their extra boons such as fury and swiftness. They would be short durations or else banners would be on the verge of overpowered mind you.

I don’t think many people currently use banners as weapons anyway, so the damaging abilities wouldn’t be greatly missed.

This change would also stop players from picking up your banner and moving it to a location that no longer benefits your group/solo play.

I believe this change would greatly improve banners and make them far much viable for solo/team play.

Any thoughts?

In general I’m just not too keen on Norn males.
I currently have a 27 Norn Guardian and I REALLY hate how it looks. That being said, I think Norn T3 heavy armour dyed black with the Karma boots and gloves is amazing.

I just feel like Norns move really slow (because of their size). After playing a Human for so long, even when my Norn has swiftness still find myself looking at my condition bar for chill/cripple lol.

I’ve also just realised that this applies to basically every class, though I was playing my warrior at the time.

Just got on my Mesmer and was using Sword/Pistol. Using the Fire sword from HoM reward and it hangs off my hips, not only with a gap between the sword and my hip but also at a really unusual angle.

Could you please make/give the option to/sell on gem store the ability to sheathe one handed weapons on your back, like Greatswords and Hammers are sheathed.
Running around with 1 handed weapons hanging off your hips is horrible to see. Some armours make it look worse than others. In some cases I’ve seen my dual swords (current weapons of choice) hanging off my sides by a large gap and it’s a complete eye sore. having the Swords crossed across my back would look better on so many levels.

Personally I don’t think the Spirits are that bad. Nothing my hammer Warrior cannot handle, the elite on the other hand.. has high health pool and regens health pretty kitten fast.

This probably has nothing to do with the thread but I played alot of Jade Quarry in Gw1 and I absolutely loved the range on longbow, especially when ranging from a high vantage point with a hornbow, and the arrows arced away into the air and then came down :P

Though, the longbow on Gw2 doesn’t appeal to me at all, just seems to clunky.

Errr… is that a serious question?

They queue up because they either;
1. Want to play PvP for enjoyment, if they are getting facerolled it’s not so fun.
2. Quite simply want to win, if they aren’t going to. Then maybe they would rather afk the rest and post on forums (or plenty of other possibilities).

I’m not going to blame anyone for akitteng a game they are getting absolutely hammered.

I’ve taken to playing my Warrior in PvP. Just running Hammer with Mace and Shield. I’ve still got a long way to becoming somewhat decent, but for now I can get some kills and if not provide some CC for my team. Thanks for all the responses guys.

I’m only Rank 12 in SPvP at the moment but I’m trying to better myself. I’ve only just found out bout free tournaments today and I’m somewhat enjoying them so far. I’m winning maybe half my games and finally getting some half decent looking gear.

I’ve heard/seen “Hotjoin” and “SoloQ” being thrown around a lot on the forums. Could anyone please explain them to me?
I’m joining the Solo Queue for free Tournaments, so I’m assuming that’s what SoloQ is referring to, but I can’t seem to suss out what Hotjoin is.

If anyone could explain it would be appreciated.
