Just ignore Ramos. I do now. He just can’t grasp the concept that builds rely heavily on gear and that some of us simply don’t want to grind the gold or mats to create a condition based build simply because ANET introduced a bug. It might have been different if it had been intentional, but it was obviously not and ANET confirmed this.
You need to do a little reading Tina, the issue is not with LOS, it’s with the bug it introduced which reduced berserkers damage by 60% and failure to cast when clearly you have LOS (enemy directly in front of you, but perhaps slighltly more elevated).
Illusionary Berserker has not received a direct damage decrease. Instead, is seems that the damage reduction you (and I) are seeing is most likely associated this fix:
“Fixed a bug that caused many piercing, boomerang, and bouncing projectiles (those that hit more than 1 target) to continually increase in damage the more targets they hit.”
We are aware that this particular phantasm is now experiencing a significant drop in damage and are looking at getting it back to a more effective state.

Obviously a timeframe would be out of the question, however, what are the chances of rolling back the changes to the mesmer until you find a fix?
I Assume this is a bug, though i havent seen a 60% decrease on my Izerker, it seemed definetly weaker.
Incorrect. 2.25K max crit down from 5.5k average on last hit for me and many others, you can’t be the only one the bug did not effect.
It’s probably started, you might just be lagging :P Have a few friends who logged in and said the lag was pretty bad. I didn’t bother. Still annoyed at the lack of action over the issues. New content should not be given priority over bug fixes.

Why should we have to spend 25g just to replace our gear so the CB build is viable when the nerf us actually a bug due to the poor LOS algorithm gw2 has? I don’t have a spare 25g. If the output was reduced 15% many would not have cared, but this isn’t the case.
You can get 40g a day easily if you farm in Orr, even without Magic Find.

Why should I? I would have to farm Orr with a bugged glass cannon. The only way this can be fixed is to:
1. Fix the LOS issue. (Not going to happen – it’s been like this since the beta).
2. Reverse the LOS changes. Probably not going to happen.
3. All gear have the same stats (similar to another game that just released a huge content update), thus we can change builds at will to combat their lack of testing. (Not going to happen).
So out of all the points, #2 has the best chance in my opinion.
That’s a moot point as if the enemy has an ounce of intelligence, your berserker won’t get a second round (PvP). I haven’t noticed any increased attack rate. These are the issues I see with berserker at this point in time:
1. Huge damage reduction due to missing, which is probably due to the LOS, which quite frankly is crap. I can be standing in front of someone/thing and still have LOS issues.
2. On the second and subsequent rounds your berserker may still miss due to uneven ground.
3. If the enemy is in LOS, chances are it’s your LOS and not the game engine’s version of LOS which is completely different. I.e I can still clearly see people on castle walls, but the game says “no you can’t”.
4. If it’s not in “LOS” it still casts and gives you a cooldown and no berserker. Quite an issue seeming we don’t actually know what constitutes as LOS. Standing infront of someone at times does not constitute as LOS.
5. If the target evades, rolls then it’s the same as point #4. This differs from other abilities like a theif’s unload where only some hits will miss due to the evade.
6. Fighting on stairs often ends up at point #4.
On some uneven ground it will continue to miss, hitting only two to three times, areas such as the training golems in HoM. Cast it, sit back for a few and watch.

It’s not just a reroll issue. To replace my gear to a carrion set for a CB build will cost me around 25G as my berserker gear will nerf the damage output of that build. I don’t have a spare 25g and are not going to spend the months farming like I did last time all because someone at ANET couldn’t bother testing the changes.
If ANET were to spot us all a set of carrion exotic weapons, jewelry and armour to replace our berserker gear then I would happily play a CB build, but seeming the likelihood of that is pretty low….
The only solution I see is to reverse the LOS changes to the phantasims thus restoring their original damage until they can actually fix the LOS bugs that exist in the game. I think that’s a fair compromise.
If you assign a build to a class then you’re doing it wrong and should really leave GW2.
Condition Bunkers are very powerful on a Mesmer.If I used the same logic: if I wanted to be a Glass Cannon I’d roll a BS Thief or a 5 Signet Warrior.
Your logic is completely flawed. I’m not dissing you for playing your CB build, nor am I telling you what build to play so if you have nothing constructive to say about the nerfs to glass cannons….
My gear is spec’d for glass cannon. I am not grinding the mats to buy a second set of gear, upwards of 15 to 20G for accessories, armour and weapons. Why should I? I bet if the CB build was totally nerfed, you’d be a tad upset.
The fact is after quite a bit of testing, iBerserker misses 2-3 times per attack round, which one can only assume is due to the BS LOS issues in GW2. To base a skill on LOS and then not provide a bug free LOS is flawed and surely not intended. With testing ANET should have seen this even before putting the patch in to the mainstream so I can only assume their QA testing is not up to scratch.
Whilst a CB build may still be a viable option, so too should be a glass cannon and as players we should have the ability to play the builds we want and not have the powers that be, nerf it in to oblivion.
For the record, I’m looking at this from purely a PvP perspective, PvE, not really for me.
If you also read the other posts, many have tested the berserker and it seems to miss a couple of times thus reduced damage. That wouldn’t be classed as a nerf, rather it’s a bug.
This is not a small reduction, it’s less than half of what it use to do and I don’t see ANET reimbursing everyone gold wise who bought their full exotic equipment for their GC builds. I also have a decked out thief and hasn’t suffered any noticeable damage reductions.
I believe the iDuelist also does less damage, probably due to the same bug. Can’t comment on the iMage as I don’t use that. 10 minutes on a practise dummy, the most I could get out of iBerserker is 2.25k (i just let it hit it continually without recasting). This is down considerably where I would often get 5k+ in full exotic berserker gear.
The fact that a mesmer can’t hit the walls to break in, means the LOS is more of an issue now and basically made sieges pointless for us. LOS is a tad silly as I can clearly see what I’m trying to hit but …..
A run around the WvW zones after the patch I found it hard pressed to see another mesmer.
Why not nerf it? They’ve nerfed everything else that a mesmer has, can’t believe they missed that one.
It’s a sad fact. Mesmers will die out in WvW and get disillusioned with the game and go find another.
A valid point is some have invested a lot of time and gold in to their gear and having to buy different gear and weapons to be viable is a tad rude. Nerfs at times are inevitable, but a major nerf like this with no word or explanation is plain wrong.
I felt (have no evidence) that with three, each could crit around 2-3k, now its 1-1.5k. I could be wrong (paranoia from the berserker nerf), just seems a lot less.
It’s not just iBerserker, iDuelist seems to me to do less damage and when you shatter three also seems to damage less, which implies to me a damage nerf across the board. Anyone else notice that?
Nope. I used the practise dummies in L.A for five or so minutes. Made no difference. Max damage I got over letting the duelist and berserkers was 2.25K on the last hit, down from 5.5ish.
I’d say so, it’s not just the berserker, the iduelist also does a lot less and I’m in full berserker exotics.
Perhaps one way to get ANET’s attention is for everyone to stop playing mesmer.
Someone posted that it may not be the damage, but the amount of times it hits, which increases the damage per hit.
I started off with a thief, then went to a mesmer main. Now I’m shelving the mesmer. ANET have left us with no other choice apart from politely asking our foe to die.
The LOS on walls has been around for some time and obviously not high up on the agenda to fix. Now that we can’t throw our berserker around, we’re left waiting on others to take the walls down before we can do anything.
The last patch didn’t rectify this either so will have to assume its intentional.
I didn’t want to say anything about the auto attack doing more damage than berserker in case they nerfed that too.

Yes. From my calculation, approximately around 60% less give or take. Someone start a petition :P
As a full Phantasm WvW mesmer im dissapointed that my build and play style is ruined. Phantasms missing is stupid, they already dont persist after death and require a target to summon, are two shotted (even when traited for HP) and are easily countered by someone with half a brain. Mesmer is not a faceroll class and requires skill to play properly, the fact that people get flustered and find the real one or dont know how to counter them is a learning curve on their part.
Phantasms seem useless now and Im stuck with a full set of Exotic Berserker gear so switching to support or cond damage will require more time and more gold just so I can continue playing and enjoying my mesmer.
I agree wholeheartedly. Playing a glass cannon was a challenge for survivability and if other classes used half a brain they could easily counter them. I feel sorry for people who don’t have an alt decked out, I atleast have a level 80 thief in full berserker to fall back to, unlike two other mesmer’s I know who simply might fall back to Rift.

Disagree. As I said in other posts, can live with some, but the 60%ish reduction in damage to the Berserker and cooldown regardless of failure or success will make some walkaway.
MidgeisGood, the main damage in the Greatsword build was from the Berserker, which now hits for approximately 40% of what it use to do pre-patch. It’s not a minor adjustment, it’s a major adjustment. As I said, I can live with the LOS implementation (even though LOS is incredibly buggy) but the damage reduction and cooldown regardless if it LOS or not just turns makes the power mesmer build in to the mesmer pathetic build.
Many complained pre-patch about portal bombs, now it’s simply going to get worse for all as that’s about all we have left to do.
They didn’t mention a nerf to the damage though. I guess they hoped no one would notice.
ANET didn’t really put any thought it to these nerfs. The cooldown on failure is ridiculous. The damage nerf borderline stupidity. The LOS issue, well, just turned mesmer’s in to siege controllers. I can’t believe the QQ about berserkers not needing LOS actually got them changed, considering one or two hits kills them. Once again ANET pandering to QQ of other classes.
The nerfs for the mesmer have gone a step too far. The portal cooldown I can live with, the phantasm LOS I can live with as long as they refund the cooldown (i.e, not phantasm, no cooldown) but the damage nerf to berserkers is way over the top. My berserker now does less than half of the pre-patch damage and that’s only if it makes an appearance. A wet fish could do more.
When every class has the ability to crit upwards of 5k (lets not talk about heartseeker, daggerstorm or hundred blades), why do ANET feel the need to screw over mesmers more than any other class? I run a glass cannon build, which now is a glass pee-shooter.
