They’re so cute when they’re being prideful.
But you guys are right. You’re “so” smart that you but those brains of yours to good use.
Yes! We’ve got an Asura who finds the boastful pride and aggressive nature of the Charr useful to the extent of cuteness and a Charr who acknowledges the amazing intellect of an Asura.
The next step is an easy one! Soon we’ll have some Charr declaring their admiration for their Asura lover on the battle field or inviting their Charr assistant to their lab for late night cuddles after a long day’s work with their krewe.
I’ll be emailing you the .pdfs with the diagrams on specific pegs and slots configurations so you’re fully prepared…it’s not as complicated as you think.
And no need to thank me. I’m just Leo, making Tyria ickier one post at a time
Are you implying we capture Asurans, use our tongues to lube up their squirming bodies, and then proceed to make them living wiggling Butt Plugs for the Charr?
You have a sick mind! A sick sick write this down MIND!
This post will almost certainly get infracted, but I laughed so hard at this. XD Well done, sir or madam. Well done indeed!
And they’re so cute… and have awesome voices.
I just wish I could snuggle up against one at night and… cough
By the Eternal Alchemy I shouldn’t be surprised.
First I see the Charr/Human thing on the Human boards and now this. They do carry fleas, you realize that? :p
And what thread might that be? :-P
It was the thread asking “as a human do you hate the Charr”
Someone mentioned that their GW1’s descendent is in love with a Charr and I asked in a good natured manner for explanation:Now when you say ‘loving a Charr’ do I need a barf bag and a censor bar for my mind’s eye? lol I’m just asking because the Internet has jaded me with certain phrases.
No comment… but I’d keep that censor bar and barf bag close at hand.
A good laugh was had by all.
My legacy lives on!
As to inter-species cross-breeding being impossible? Well, let’s just say there’s nothing that sufficient Chaos Magic and Inquest experimentation can’t fix! ~rubs hands while cackling maniacally~
The tickets are unfortunately not available anymore, unless ANet decides to do a re-release down the track. You could try starting a petition for the new Black Lion Weapon Tickets to work for any of the past weapon skins available from the Black Lion Weapon Vendors (which, by the way, I would wholeheartedly support).
Southsun Survival is returning as part of the mini-game rotation, however. Maybe we should ask for clarification from the devs as to whether we can still complete the 2500 points achievement (along with the Aspect Arena achievements) even after Cutthroat Politics is over.
The drop rate so far appears to be anywhere between 10% (1 in 10) – 20% (1 in 5). Operating on pure math, you’d need to buy about 25 – 50 chests on average to get 1 claim ticket. (And since you’d need 5 tickets after CP is over, multiply that by 5.)
Yes, those are pretty terrible odds, but the real change in the game plan is the fact that the skins are now tradeable. Would I ever buy keys to use myself? HECK NO! But if there was a particular skin I really wanted, at least I now have the option to buy it on the TP. (And with the Aetherized skins, you can attempt to farm it yourself from the Candidate Trials.)
Let the people who buy keys have a chance to strike it rich with a lucky drop, because these are the guys who fund ANet and the servers. For everyone else, either buy the skin off the TP, or just use the odd key you get from drops or the Personal Story and hope you also get lucky!
Belcher’s Bluff is a permanent minigame addition to the game, so I’m fairly confident the endless kits will still be available even after BotFW is over.
The Light armor is basically Kasmeer’s armor. :O
Well, well… I have no idea why the price went up either, but now might be a good time to sell that one last set of Wings I still have sitting in my bank.
So…
Anyone wanna know how to get inside the great collapse?
I know I do.
Sewer-based JP, ahoy!
And isn’t there already a “Canthan” district in DR, anyway? The so-called Eastern Commons? I remember that the buildings there had a slight Canthan influence, similar to the Ossan Quarter having Elonian influences.
Aw, come on, we already know how this will end! The supporters of the losing candidate will cry foul, complain the vote was rigged, and then have a mass sit-in in the Lion’s Arch fountain plaza. The Lionguard will move in, riots erupt, and we’ll have a mass PvP slaughter-fest that will deepen sectarian divisions between the player base.
Captain Suwash for Council! He’ll give out free Precursors to everybody!
Actually, I think this new RNG system is more or less perfect. Don’t get me wrong; I still LOATHE RNG with a passion, but at least now the system allows players who don’t even want to touch the Black Lion Chests the chance to get the skins. How?
1. You can farm it yourself from the Candidate Trials. Admittedly I have no idea how often they drop, but it is an option for the player who doesn’t want to spend any gems on BLC’s.
2. You can buy keys using gold/gems to open BLC’s. Again, I have no idea how often scraps drop, but the fact that the ticket scraps can be accumulated over time AND they will also work with future weapon skin drops means that they are a valuable resource that can be stored until a new release brings out a weapon skin you DO like.
3. You can buy the skins directly from the TP. This is the great equalizer. If all else fails, you can always just buy the skin from someone who happened to get lucky, but doesn’t like the skin themselves.
All in all, I think it’s a perfect system.
Because she has a Legendary character designation and you don’t.
Oh yeah!? Well at least I still have a guild.
Ooooh, touche!
And if the Skritt King could convince the powers that be that skritt should be a playable race, all the better!
If the Skritt King can promise this, he gets my vote for the rest of his lifetime.
I have two characters that are in the process of completing of Gendarran Fields. I should know this week whether or not this claim is true. Was just hoping for additional information before taking the plunge. (Literally. XD)
So according to talk on the Wiki, the Aetherized Shoulder pieces are no longer a guaranteed drop from the end chest at the end of the Not So Secret JP. I’d like to hear from ANet if this was an intended change following the end of the Sky Pirates Living Story chapter, or whether there’s a bug and it should still be dropping.
There’s also some uncertainty over whether the shoulder pieces are still dropping, but its now random. Has anyone here still gotten an Aetherized shoulder piece from the chest after the end of Sky Pirates (9th July)?
Because she has a Legendary character designation and you don’t.
Likely Carrots have shot up in price due to some popular high-level food recipe that’s in great demand right now. The cheap Bowls of Red Meat Stock are probably leftovers from people who crafted it to raise their Chef levels, have no further use for it, and are now dumping it on the TP.
In short, buy the Bowl of Red Meat Stock for your own crafting and sell your carrots.
As far as I know, there are no karma vendors which sell Rares directly. And in almost all cases I’ve encountered, items purchased from karma vendors cannot be salvaged anyway.
However, what some people do is convert their karma into level 80 Masterworks from Heart NPCs in high level zones. They then throw these into the Mystic Forge in hopes of getting back Rares which can be salvaged.
Personally though, I’d go with the Jewelry Boxes as cpg suggested.
I’ve done trains before when I’ve been in a hurry to get somewhere, but if I accidentally drag them into someone else, I will stop and help them fight. There’s only been two occasions when someone dragged a train into me. One time they stopped to help, the other time they just kept on running. I didn’t mind as I’m fairly competent and it takes a large amount of enemies to take me down, but all the same, I make sure to park myself in a safe spot (the HoM Portal Stone is great for this) before I go AFK.
I love JP’s and would never want them to be removed. That said, I do understand that they are just frustrating, or even impossible, for some players due to various issues. As such, I do agree that a Living Story meta-achievement should be able to be completed without doing any JP’s. (Secret of Southsun was a great example of this. Sky Pirates and Bazaar, not so much.)
I open mine currently because I have 5 alts and I honestly don’t know what colours will look good on them. Currently, whenever I get a new dye, I open up the dye window and play around with it to see if it looks nice on my character. If a character already has the dye, I give it to an alt.
When it gets to the stage where I’m getting more duplicates than not, and all of my alts have the dye, that’s when I’ll selling them unid’ed.
As panzer said, if you got a maximum height human female and a minimum height Norn female and put them next to each other, you’d likely be hard pressed to tell which was which unless you were very familiar with the available faces/hairstyles for each race.
More than likely these account bound materials will be used exclusively for crafting Ascended items (who are also account bound).
They become Gold Find? XD
I will vote for the first candidate to mail me a Dusk.
Just to cover the basics, you’ve double-checked that you haven’t already charmed a Juvenile River Drake? The icons for the Drake pets in the pet window are kinda screwed up.
Mai even sat over his body pretending to be a medic to ensure she had done the job right.
That’s not exactly true. Mai was offering to help the Charr representative, not Theo Ashford.
There are 5 players in a Fractal.
There are 5 Gods opposing Abaddon.
~waits for it to sink in~
I can’t take any credit for this idea though. Konig made this suggestion originally in the Lore forum.
The forums seem to favour Evon, but honestly? I suspect the silent majority of GW2 players, who don’t follow the lore and don’t really pay much attention to the Living Story, will look at the two and go “Who’s this Charr? The woman looks prettier/hotter/friendlier. I’ll vote for her.” :P
My guess?
There are five of us.
Abaddon fought five gods.
Remember Urban Battleground Fractal and turning into charr?
Yeah.
… That would be undeniably the BEST Fractal ever.
You are correct in your calculations how ever now we get mystic forge stones for free from the achievement chests which would make mystic kits a lot cheaper.
^ Basically this.
I only wish I hadn’t stocked up on Mystic Forge Stones back when they were on sale. I now have enough to probably last me for the rest of my GW2 lifetime. XD
I’m still undecided. While I definitely want to see the Fall of Abaddon more than the Thaumanova Reactor Incident, I have a deep-seated moral objection to Evon’s business practices. I mean, come on, even his economic incentive is nothing more than a shill for him to sell more of his stock! :P
I’m still undecided. While I definitely want to see the Fall of Abaddon more than the Thaumanova Reactor Incident, a vote for Evon is essentially a vote for more RNG. I mean, come on, even his economic incentive is nothing more than a shill for him to sell more of his stock! :P
While it’s definitely an exploit, I have to say that tactic is absolute brilliance, Shunsui. XD Finally, a use for all those Boxes of Fun that are piling up in my bank!
They talked about putting books in game that players would read to find out lore about stuff.
Anet should totally put that in.
They started doing it somewhat. There’s 20-something books in Ebonhawk that explain the Ebonhawks departure from EotN and how they founded Ebonhawk near the crystal desert. It was added….last week maybe (at least the achievement for reading all in one go)?
Actually, the books were always there. The achievement was a hidden achievement as well, but it was only in last week’s update that it became an “official” achievement.
One possible factor which can block the event from proceeding after the first two Champions are killed is whether or not the Charr leader (I forget her name, but she’s dressed in Blood Legion armor) is alive. Run back to the N gate of Foulbear Kraal and see if she’s lying dead there on the ground. If she is, revive her. This will sometimes kick off the next event to destroy the ogre houses/pet houses.
Really?? I’ve been in Labyrinthine Cliffs almost every single day since the patch went live and I’ve never seen this event before. If Sinbold hadn’t mentioned it, I’d still have no idea it even existed!
Most roleplaying does occur within Divinity’s Reach, although you’ll occasionally find roleplayers scattered across . The following site also serves as a networking site for roleplayers to find each other, organise events, and join guilds:

Crap, we only get one choice between Radiant and Hellfire?
Kinda wish I hadn’t picked the Hellfire Gauntlets now… (I went with that because I like the Hellfire Helm more than the Radiant, and I didn’t want to have a mismatched set.)
I think it probably has to do with the deep seated cultural disdain Norn have for “running away”. Despite accomplishing more than most Norn could ever do in their lifetime, Aesgeir could not “defeat” Jormag and was forced to retreat, along with the rest of the Norn, to Hoelbrak and their current lands. Although Aegeir did something no Norn before or since has ever done, the Norn as a whole still view his battle with Jormag as a catastrophic defeat. His story is not something that Norn aspire to, but something to surpass.
Ehhh… I have to say that I’m disappointed at Celestial items being account bound. While I definitely enjoy crafting things for its own sake, I’d also like to be able to craft items to gift to my friends and guildmates. Having Celestial items be account-bound means that I can’t do that for certain items, even if it’s what they’re after.
The kites are pretty cute, but I’d gladly trade mine for a Starcake recipe. Just sayin’, ANet.
Thanks.
Hope the guide was of help to you!
Adnul’s difficulty primarily comes from three factors:
1. He has far more health than the other Masters.
2. His Water heals him for TWICE the amount of health lost from a Drink. This is in direct contrast to the player’s version, where Water only heals for half the amount of health lost from a drink.
3. He is scripted to use Belch fairly frequently. Most of the other Masters use Belch infrequently.
The combination of factors 1 and 2 means that Adnul has a much bigger playing window in which for the player to get unlucky/make mistakes, resulting in a player loss. Likewise, the combination of his Signature Move and frequent Belching means that the player cannot fall back on a Bluff streak to buy time as with the other Masters.
If it were up to me, I’d pick two of the following three fixes. Any combination of two should result in Adnul becoming a fairer fight:
1. Reduce his health to that of Maddie’s or Poyaqui’s, resulting in about 10 – 12 drinks for defeat.
2. Fix Adnul’s Water so it properly heals for only half the amount of health lost from a Drink.
3. Script Adnul so he hardly, if ever, drinks Water. (This would be in-character too, for a Norn who prides himself on his drinking constitution and appreciation for the taste of the drink.)
I must be doing something wrong then. I got leather working up, made the celestial insignia, but it didn’t let me craft with it…in fact it didn’t even show up as an option. So I thought maybe I had to use mystic forge instead…nope. All my gold is gone now. What next? lol
You need to get the specific recipe for the armor piece(s) you want to craft. If you look on the TP, you’ll see recipes for Emblazoned Coats, Boots etc. You need both the insignia recipe AND the armor piece recipe in order to craft a Celestial item.
Yeah, I’m not a fan of it either. :P
Personally I feel it’s not intended, as that would negate the feeling of doing that final, nail-biting rush up the spiral path towards the goal, but if people want to use that shortcut, so be it.
I’m pretty happy with my Sylvari’s face and hair, but I agree that more hair and face options are always welcome.
What I’d really like though are more “plant”-like armors. There’s only so far the 3 Cultural armors and TA armor can take you!
I guess I would like to see Norn females have more “bulk”. If you took a max size, max width version of the Human female and Norn female, they’d still share a relatively similar outline. In contrast, if you took the male versions and compared them with each other, it’s immediately obvious which one is the Norn.
