I’m just curious as to why you think getting to the 10K Daily cap ASAP is important? I get if you are actually TRYING to maximize your AP on a regular basis, but as far as I know, there is no “reward” for reaching the 10K cap…..why hitting it ASAP something you feel the need to pursue?

I wouldn’t say it’s “important”, but it’s a handy carrot to keep me doing multiple aspects of the game. I’m also working on PvP and WvW progression along with PvE, and the Dailies are just a nice way of pacing myself. “OK, I got my PvP dailies. That’s enough progress on it today.”

So that explains why Superior Runes of the Ranger are so expensive now. XD

Truth: People don’t really want the ascent to madness mini-dungeon, and whether or not you fight the Mad King wont make a difference in your overall enjoyment of the dungeon.

Actually, I DO want the Ascend to Madness mini-dungeon back. I don’t really care about the Halloween skins (although I know some players basically want it back just so they can farm for the skins), but I liked being able to slap the Mad King around in payback for his stupid jokes. :P

On the topic of farming, I think it may just be one of those necessary evils we have to have. Players seemingly LOVE to farm. They were out in droves during the original Halloween in the Labyrinth, and again during the first iteration of the Crown Pavilion. Once the farming rewards got taken away in later years, attendance dropped sharply.

If you’re getting a message saying “you can’t activate this content at this time”, that’s a bug that’s locked out a lot of veteran players from using Diving Goggles. Hopefully it’ll get fixed soon.

I’d rebuild the entire city out of Bloodstone Bricks, and use their latent magic to power a defensive shield that could be instantly raised the moment the city comes under attack.

This is an old bug where transformation elites (including Lich Form and the various Norn elites) do not trigger the activation 6th bonus on runes. I know that the Superior Rune of the Mad King’s bonus also does not trigger if you use Lich Form on a Necro, for example.

To those of you being harassed for wanting to complete the content, block (and report, if necessary) the people screaming at you. ANet has said multiple times that completing the content as was intended is the “right” way to play the game. If anything, the people who are deliberating failing the event to farm champs are the ones who are exploiting and would get banned for it if push came to shove. If they don’t want that to happen, they should just let the content complete once so the LS guys can get what they need, then go back to farming afterwards. It’s what, 10 mins off their time? Isn’t that better than getting banned or getting their precious farm spot nerfed?

In fact, if things get really bad, reporting it as an exploit is the best solution, since Michael has actually stated that submitting such a report actually summons an invisible GM to check things out. (This is how they can sometimes show up as a 6th player in an already full 5 man dungeon instance.)

Confirmed. I have this bug on my characters too, despite all of them being level 80. Have not yet tested whether creating a new character and leveling them to 20 with a scroll will bypass it.

Further to what Michael said, the profanity filter is there to protect people who don’t want to see profanity at all. It still does not give you the right to verbally abuse other people or be a skritt-head.

Since CS only acts on profanity when somebody reports it (they don’t monitor private or guild chat), I very much doubt that your swearing was used in a friendly or self-deprecating manner. If you were just swearing up a storm with friends (say, a guild dungeon run went horribly wrong) and someone reported you anyway, then it’s an issue you should raise with your friends.

So diving goggles can’t even be unlocked by creating a new character and levelling it past 11? That’s really bad. >.< Hopefully this bug gets addressed soon.

All three of those maps are fairly popular ones, so it’s possible you just might have been put into newer overflows whenever you visited each one. I’m on TC too, and those maps are always fairly well populated when I’m there.

I think DarkSpirit was referring to the people who got their Ascended armor early and go “I spent over 300g to get my Ascended armor, and now people can just get it for 50g?!”, not so much people who are making money from Silk.

To those players though, I would sympathise with their feelings, but it wouldn’t be the first time economic changes have made previously expensive stuff cheap, or previously cheap stuff expensive. The economy is always going to be in flux; you win some, you lose some.

Heh, I got suckered into that by two Badlands Engineers last night. BL had basically no presence on the map at all, but these two guys were basically ganking stragglers or trying to pick off the tail of zergs as they passed by.

I should have known better than to let myself get pulled so far away from the zerg, but there were 4 of us against of two of them, and I was pretty desperate to get my last 2 WvW kills for the Daily. Ah well.

I did get my remaining kills when we got the jump on a FR zerg at Airport in the end, so no big deal.

The Trained Sharks need to be given that same OP rush/knockback attack that Veteran/Champ Sharks use, and use it from a further distance away. They could seriously mess up zergs trying to get to the Keep that way.

Spectator locking may work to reduce Autobalance Wars, but I fear all that will do is make players ragequit instead of spectating, leaving the losing team in the same boat anyway.

Perhaps something like a “Random Team” bonus where if you choose to join a random team at the start, you get double the final reward (up to the winner’s maximum reward)? That would encourage people to stay even if they end up on the losing team, since between “time played” and the “random bonus”, they could end up getting the same (or better) reward at the end if the match goes on for more than 10 mins.

On a related note, Scholar Albion (Green Beans in Bulk) and Bjarni (Celery in Bulk) in Wayfarer Foothills have also had their cooking items removed. Hopefully we’ll get some ANet eyes on this for a future patch.

Chakrams were actually a focus skin back in GW1. Wouldn’t mind seeing some be brought back.

It’s simple. I’d give myself the ability to insta-spawn as much gold and any item in the game that I wanted. I also have the Legendary Defender’s perma-invulnerability and the insta-death attack. Then I set myself up as Supreme Overlord of Tyria, and see how many sycophantic followers I’ll gain.

I’d just like to say again that it’s marvelous to see so many more posts from the devs on the forums lately, across all the sub-forums. It’s fantastic to actually know that our ideas, suggestions and bug reports are actually being picked up on. Loving this change. Keep up the good work!

It’s just RNG. Near as I can tell, any Guard/Supervisor/Lord can drop a WvW Spoon. I got one the very first night from killing a Camp Supervisor, but no more spoons since.

Just keep playing and you’ll get one eventually.

Yeah, I’ve always advocated having the Marionette return as a new mega world boss, similar to Tequatl and the Wurm. In terms of difficulty, it’s harder than Karka Queen, but not as hard as Tequatl (although arguably a greater level of organisation is needed).

That Wolf is unusually tough for an event of its level, yeah. Blind spamming helps a lot, but the easiest way is just to call for help when you tackle it.

That is highly unusual, but you could just be on a really, really bad streak of luck.

No free golem for me, but I’m not bothered. I just travel to WvW to access my Bank anyway.

It’ll be nice to see more of Gaile again. As a GW1 vet, I have fond memories of the Frog and Gaile in LA as well.

No offense, Aurora, but… what’s the difference between the economic impact of restoring a player’s personal bank that may have 1000g worth of expensive goods in it, and restoring a guild bank that may have 1000g worth of expensive goods in it? The economic impact on the game would be exactly the same.

It’s fine to say that “we can’t restore guild banks because of code limitations”, you know.

Someone creating a farm arena = Someone buying a pistol and shooting up his own car in the backyard. It’s pointless and doesn’t improve the guy’s life in any way, but it’s his car and his ammo, so fine, whatever.

Someone buying a pistol and shooting up a school = Someone who goes into tPvP and uses hacks/DDoS’s the legit competitors so they just can’t win against him. He’s deliberately going out of his way to cause pain and suffering to others.

On the bright side, we may see the Molten Facility and Aetherblade Retreat return in their full glory if/when ANet brings back the LS S1 content as permanent content.

Pretty sure that was Robert Hrouda. He made a tweet back then that suggested the Molten Facility (or was it the Aetherblade Retreat?) being the last dungeon he worked on before he left ANet.

Personal Banks, maybe not, but why not the Guild Bank access via the Guild Master NPC? That does strike me as odd.

They are aware of the bug and working on a fix. (As per Keenan from the Audio forum.) No ETA on when it’ll get here, but at least we know it’s on the radar.

Yeah, as I said earlier, as much as we can try to automate the process, at the end of the day, we will still need someone to come in, evaluate the situation, and make a judgment call on whether somebody is being a troll and take punitive action. If it is not feasible for ANet to provide a team of GMs to do so, then perhaps some of the monitoring could be turned over to the community, by way of a Player’s Tribunal, volunteer GMs etc.

I honestly haven’t been on any other servers apart from Tarnished Coast, so I couldn’t rightly say. :/

WvW is different on lower populated servers. On T1, strategies tend to revolve around huge groups of players that are extremely difficult to fight unless you also have a similarly sized group. Open field battles tend to be almost hypnotising flowing routines like two schools of piranhas passing by each other and slowly whittling each other down.

On less populated servers, I hear that battles tend to be more strategic, involving more compact groups of 10 or less that usually have more focused objectives, like harassing supply caravans, capturing a poorly defended Tower and such.

Unless you happen to end up on a really empty server fighting one much more populated than you though, I’d say that WvW is generally fairly balanced.

Have you tried joining an RP guild? From what I know, the Megaservers prioritise guildies over servers when putting them in the same map, so if you join an RP guild, that might be an easier way of getting into the right instance by default whenever you enter maps that are RP hot spots like DR.

But the problem there would be that it’d be much harder for newer players to get the title than older ones. Instead of doing, say, 30 JP’s for the title, you now have to do 60 JP’s. That’s twice as many as there originally was, and some of the new JP’s might be super kittenes like Not So Secret.

You could get around this by putting new JP’s in their own category, I suppose (like the new one in Dry Top), but that actually bothers me more than not having a title for having done all of them. I’d prefer to see all the JP’s be in their own category.

Anyway, as far as titles go, I’m quite happy with my “Honors in Applied Jumping”.

Don’t destroy the backpieces! They might very well have one final upgrade step to Ascended tier; it’s just on hold since Chef and Jeweler is limited to 400 at the moment.

It’s because not everybody plays in a way that will get them the scraps they need. If I wanted to, I could also alter my playstyle so it focuses on direct farming of events and areas that will give me cloth scraps. But then, I wouldn’t have time to map, do WvW/PvP, dungeons etc. It would essentially be me putting all my other in-game goals on hold just to farm cloth.

So I’d rather just do what I’m doing at the moment, gaining progress towards my other goals and then using excess coin (it’s not like I’m buying much else) to progress towards my Ascended armor.
