Well we just had a fractal revamp so now i see some exotic gear boxes dropping in fractals and other never before seen stuff…..so…did the rules change for fractal weapons?
Are they still lvl 20+ fractal boss chest drop? Or does it work another way now?
Thief is right up amazing, let me tell you that. Problem is that in fractals you’re likely to meet ppl who “know better” which class is good and which not. Given that you can sneak/tele/ and do lotsa unseen by other classes stuff, make no mistake – thief is the fractal machine, just learn him well and think out of the box a bit;)
I don’t know why this tread exists, since it’s obvious that when my guardian shows it’s picture contest ends with clear genius winner:)

Let’s talk professional level gameplay. If there’s one thing that gw2 needs to deliver for that level of gameplay, it’s fast, responsive and intuitive controls.
Among few things that in gw2 meet this cryteria is the “out of range” indicator for ranged skills. Red bar under your skill when target is out of the range is simple, intuitive and fast to check.
But it could do worlds more for professional gameplay if simple two improvements were made on it:
1. Change it from on/off mode to “progreess bar” mode. Bar would be one color when target is in range, filled depending on range – if it’s right next to you, it’s almost empty, if near range border it’s nearly full. When out of range – red.
With that you know more or less what range you’re at, and make concious manouvering decisions.
2. Add the above to ground targetted skills, with mouse cursor being the “target” ofc. If one chooses “fast ground targetting” in options, he is stripped of any feedback regarding being in/out of range of casting. This would solve the problem neat and fast.
Those two things would surely add to gameplay for more advanced players that need to make split second decisions and not struggle with guessing games.
Arrrrgh! Do you love experiments? Do you love maguuma jungle? Do you love small guilds with chilled out atmosphere and no stick in leader’s rear?
Why do i even bother asking, of course you do!
Well then, today’s your first day of the rest of your life!
In Whiteside Ridge (European Server), Jungle Krewe awaits those special individuals that:
– love experiments and innovation!
– love maguuma jungle!
– love doing fractals!
– won’t hurt if you like doing dungeons, but we’ve to learn about some of them!
– don’t mind their leader being a bit mean when he’s outta shape (totally mean when he’s in proper shape!)
– feel the power of the mighty green parrot! Our guild logo! Lo and behold as whole jungle trembles at it’s might sqawking! Watch it tear it’s fruity oposition to shreads with it’s terrifying beak!
What will happen to you once you’re inside?!
ABUSE obviously! You will take part in serial experiments that involve new and creative ways of faster/better completion of many tasks such as fractals! Don’t worry about dying, if we’re not worried about your death neither should you:) What are few bruises, 3rd degree burns, lost limbs or few ruptured internal organs compared to making progress for science!
And after all is done you can chill in maguuma jungle admiring it’s beauty, doing events with your fellow speci..guildies and shooting the breeze in paradise setting (jungle + zombies to kill = paradise, no?). Just be careful of parrots. Them scary!
Awesome! Where do i sign up!?
Juuuust find Monsterzed or The Puller ingame (at evenings European time almost 99% of the time on), and say the magic words: “Arrrrk! Research! Research!”

I won’t say i’m an epic guardian player but i think it’s safe to say guardians needs some polish. While some of our skills are great, there’s just a handful no one touches even with gun held to their head. I’ll start with spirit weapons.
Now spirit weapons are not trash skills (like signet of mercy for example) but they do have a lot of issues. Let’s start fromt the top:
All spirit weapons:
Dying from aoe dot ground skills. Example being poison fields from queen spider in AC. Why are weapons that float above ground affected by poison that is ground only (and not falling from the sky or exploding upward?)
Bow of Truth, Shield of Avenger:
Why do they root in place when they activate? They should follow me, or at least check my position after skill animation and teleport themselves to me before next skill cast.
A bow of truth that stays in one place for whole duration, where i’m running from conditon based enemy is useless, it should be moving with me blasting conditions away (i’m talking swamp fractal scenario here).
Shield of Avenger that just stays in enemy aoe when i dodged out of danger ages ago is also useless. If i dodged it should immediatly move to my new position and cast it’s shield of absorption where i’m at. Shield stays alive, i get protection at my spot, win – win.
Sword of Justice:
Never has justice sucked so much before. The damage is just pathetic, not to mention the low rate of fire. what is to convince me to give this skill any time of the day when things like shouts, consecrations or shield of avenger are right next to it?
Hammer of Wisdom
Shorter intervals between it’s auto-chain really wouldn’t hurt you know! Especially given it’s “high end” short duration and long cd.
Signet of mercy
It’s not a spirit weapon but it’s level of suckage bends reality and time – space continuum. Seriously, who uses that? Every single resurrection skill in this game beats signet of mercy with ease, and guardian is to be supposed the support/healing oriented profession with something like this? Good one.
(edited by ZeftheWicked.3076)
Long story short – changing the utility skills on the fly is very unhandy and unreliable. Clicking that small arrow above skills takes time to aim with your cursor, and you can easily miss and trigger the skill (and it’s cooldown) instead, which is last thing you wanted.
What i want is a nice keyboard shortcuts, like Ctrl+6 to bring up the healing skill selection window and so on.
This would so help with dungeon running when you don’t have too much time to stop and change skill setup sometimes.
As a player who got convinced to buy this awesome game after last free trial, right now i’m pretty furious with this one. Reason is simple – last time the players could invite their friends to join, that’s how i was hooked. This time it’s some websites, that force ppl to register and personally i have no idea what one has to do on each to get the key.
I want to invite my friend over to try the game out, but i guess i cannot. Me and him gotta count on one of those websites. Not to mention not everyone is jumping in their pants to try it out. I got convinced to gw2 because i played it. But if you’re gonna pile obstacles, then the undecided ppl, like my buddy aren’t gonna climb that mountain you needlessly put in front of their face. They should be able to simply get a code and try, be it from their buddies ingame or gw2 website, but without all those other websites, registration there and other needless complications.
I think we should have a large pool fo dailies for a month to choose from. You make your own daily from that. But to make it far each would have a limited number of uses (so you don’t do laurel vendor daily everyday). Then on a short day you pick easy ones, on one with more time you “pay the debt” and do the hard ones left in the pool.
Only good Asura is the dead one you punt thru the uprights.
God they are the worse race in any MMO I ever played.
Why someone plays them, I have no clue..
Due to short time i will only say that next time this bookah visits Rata Sum he will be put in asuran jail along with talking bear to study eating habits and hunting methods of failed asuran experiments compared to natural counterparts. Though this does border Inquest level cruelty torwards reseach specimens…
“I’m not a bear!”
“Quiet, you won’t fool me, talking bear!”
(edited by ZeftheWicked.3076)
I found it:) And correction:
The jail is on the lowest inhabited floor or rata sum (the one with 3 waypoints).
Most bottom part of rata sum is where i went and found nothing (above screens).
Btw, most epic jailing reason ever:
(edited by ZeftheWicked.3076)
I have completely diffferent views on asurian elites then most posters here.
Power Suit – it’s epic! gatling fists rock for damage and whirling assault is best knockdown utility my guardian has. Just aim right and that spinning attack will put that puppy down for a while unless it’s size of godzilla. And if it is all the more you’ll want to use gatling fists doing sweet damage while keeping way waaaaay away from it.
It also comes with nice self -heal, and extra hp def for you. And what’s best, you control it, so no stupid ai walking it right into trap and you can dodge in it. Price for this is it being bit slow and no jumping. But it proved itself for me pve.
7-series golem – just as power suit it has gatling fists, and uses rocket punch when gatling is on cooldown. It’s basically assist in attacking and does very nice job at it as long as the ground ain’t full of traps. Also this guy is a major save if you get downed. There’s a reason guardian knows so many prayers – he’s gonna need them all when downed cause down there guardian is royally screwed. having this guy around doing real damage to monster is a huge chance that something will get killed before next elections and you will rally. His defences are low however and is less durable then it should in my honest opinion. On the plus side monsters are likely to attack target with highest defence – that is you, and leave him alone while he deals the pain.
D-Series golem. I don’t have this guy yet, but from what i saw he’s the reverse of 7-series golem. He’s the defensive type and his job is getting heat off you, while you lick your wounds. he uses basic 1-2 punch combo, and shield of absorption again keeping monsters off track to buy you precious time. His def is said to be higher then yours. His weaknesses is low attack power and obviously same ai problem that can have him walking right into ground trap etc.
Also both golems benefit from buffs like any ally in party so you can lend them a hand if you’re not busy rolling in dirt playing with bandages.
(edited by ZeftheWicked.3076)
You monsters. Look what you made me do, cause i was searching fot that jail…which i didnt’ find btw….
Our slaves! Noooooo!
Typical dynamics college thinking! You think you can do everything with a golem and if not then with it self-destructing! We can’t afford to lose golems! We need our norn, human, sylvari and charr sla…friends!
Least college of synergetics minds that think outside of “attach one more laser drill to it, it’ won’t explode in first minute” box!
Every peacemaker officer knows that you get attention of naugty asuras by dragging them by their ears to you by your golem then proceed to explain what must be done on her part to avoid repetitive iterations of said cycle from your golem.
Synergetics graduate, MonsterZed
Well true it’s a rumor, i might’ve jumped the gun. But to make it clear, Blade & Soul is anything but a “pet project”. It’s just in Korea right now that’s why you’re not hearing about it, but it earned 80% in korea alone in 3rd quarter 2012 of what guild wars 2 did world wide. It’s a AAA class mmorpg, and their hopes for it are equal to those tied to gw2 if not higher.
Here’s a short theory why not:
“NcSoft was adamant to keep it universal”. Not Arena.net. NcSoft.
Translation:
NcSoft is launching Blade & Soul in western market soon, and one of this game’s main selling points is that it’s 100% asian in and out. I say they don’t want gw2 to deliver “asian” experience as it could weaken the “asian” selling point of B&S.
Here’s my MonsterZed:) Chicks dig him. He gives great backrubs and has those big , floppy irresistable ears;)
I second that idea! I was just thinking how stupid it is that my guildie has a very young girlish looking char, yet it’s voice like a fully grown woman. Given the options we have at character creation (young/middle aged/old) we should have voices that match.
Also personality as well should affect the voice, least in story mode where your character has few things to say other then “thank you” and “you’re welcome”.
Voiceover costs would not be that horrid, because you gotta remember that it’s mostly npcs that do the yapping, and they don’t need new voiceovers. Your own character doesn’t talk that much, save personal story, so it shouldn’t be that bad.
And i would like my menacing char to sound menacing, and her young char to sound young and not like a 30 year old woman having a bad day (no offence to 30 year old women;)
Oh almost forgot. Exception to some of the above are charr. They could get new voice, but what they got now is pretty cool and are not screaming for some character in it, unlike human or norn. Asura’s voice is fine but they could use new lines. I feel like i’m playing the only asura in tyria that ain’t snotty, sacrastic and willing to blow up half of the world for sake of an experiment – inexcusable!
(edited by ZeftheWicked.3076)
Maple Story is MMO missed by many. Cause it’s anime, cause it’s 2d etc. But bottom line is that thing may match WoW in player base and for a good reason – combat is hard hitting, 100% action and satisfactory. Now if it just wasn’t pay to win run by horrible company…
Hear, hear!
Game is great and A-net should do it as they see fit, and not trying to make a chinese dish outta a stake if you get my drift.
I get owned every time i read posts complaining about game being too grindy + no endgame cause max level was too fast to reach…Where do those people come from?
There should be threads about real issues, like making controls ingame far more actiony, so we are encouraged and easily introduced into running while in combat and using non targeting system, rather then wrestling with key bindings to get some result.
(edited by ZeftheWicked.3076)
Throw me an alternative way to adress them then i will. Till then i ain’t touching it, espeically since i’m expressing my heartwarm feelings to their work.
This will be a story of historical suceess in entertainment and a guideline for GW2 dev team from 31 year old guy, who’s knows greatness when he sees one.
Some of us (and i reckon gw2 dev team for sure, given so many references in game) know one of the finest comedy pearls to ever released was the infamous “blazing saddles” by Mel Brooks. A comedy as politically correct as walking buttnaked infront of vatican cathedral of St.Peter, yet so hilarious and spot on it made history.
So what’s the story here? Well story is..that thing is about 40 years old. Those were times when saying certain words was as badly censored as this here forum. Only it wasn’t forum, only real life that upheld such standards. And good old Mel Brooks was worried about that too. Then one glorious day a friend said to him:
“Mel, you went up that tower, so don’t you pull back halfway, you go all the way there and ring that bell!”. And so history was made with infamous yet genius scenes like the campfire farting scene, horse getting punched, town full of white racist singing song about their misery in church not sparing on profanities while at it, indian attack on caravan and so on and on. It became a block buster and made history, against it’s times and this politically correct (cool word here that good old Mel would not censor unlike this forum).
And what about “Married with Children”? Best comedy series ever that just puts anything before and after to shame. Why? Because it didn’t hold back in slightest in it’s merciless crusade vs all pathologies, lies and depravations of modern america. Everything was over the top but it cause ppl to drop to floor and spasm in fits of uncontrolled laughter because it hit it’s marks spot on, no mercy whatsoever for subjects touched!
Both of those became history as many others did for one simple reason:
They had the “Orbs” to go where no show had dared to go before regardless of fear that they may fail cause of that. They didn’t. They made history.
And so to GW2 team – i love your game to bits. I see the huge effort put into it. I see the love when i see birds flying over Rata Sum, or hundreds of meters of it’s inner and outside walls when i fall down rather then lazy invisible floor 30 meters below. The small golem running around first stage in metrica province delivering all the witty and snarly messages between asuras. Or those birds sitting on rock when in top of morgan’s spiral jq. Or Orr itself (straights of devastation) with all the orrian architecture and cool world events. Or tons of fun references hidden ingame (ill tempered barracudas ftw;).
So i’m gonna say what you all figured by now. You go up that tower and ring that bell!
Player input is fine, but don’t try to make a burrito outta hamburger of vice-versa. You know what you wanna do with GW2, what kinda game you wanna make it. Don’t hold back and do it. Someone will always be happy and someone will always rage, no matter what you do. But those that try to be in between may make evening’s entertainment for a while. Those that stay true to their goal when others don’t dare to, make history:)
If it was i sub-based game i would have voted with my walled and stayed:>
But Guild Wars 2 is a milestone in mmo gendre in equal part for it’s revolutionary approach to gameplay and revolutionary approach to payment. In time and age where games are shorter and shorter costing more and more, GW2 is the unmovable mountain that just stand in the way of this “progress” and does us all players a favor.
Because of that i would not agree to it being P2P. It’s comparable to what Final Fantasy 7 did for console asian rpgs – it opened the floodgates to the whole gendre to the west., as GW2 is now opening floodgates to true progression of the gendre both gameplay and payment model wise.
But there are still gems to get to thank arena.net for the awesome job:)
Because GW2 was obviously the first Buy to play game and the first game to have action combat!……oh wait
Because Final Fantasy VII was first Jrpg ever released to the west…oh wait….
It’s not the first that matters, it’s the first to do it right on a grand scale that matters.
And thing is times are changing and standing an honest business model ground on the downhill trip of P2W “free mmos”, or B2P+subs (Wow) or P2P+Cash Shop(Blade and Soul) with a such a great title is something to be considered praise worthy and taking a stand in those times. And for that i’m grateful to Arena.net.
If it was i sub-based game i would have voted with my walled and stayed:>

Now i don’t know why but some people seen to not like traeharne. I personally don’t mind him, though obviously the alliance should have more charismatic leader such as me:>
However many people are not only troubled by his presence but also by means of allevating that problem (his presence that is).
As incinirgen midterm student i suggest going to youtube and entering following phrase “Austin Powers Mustafa” for all those who need a nice fresh idea on what to do with him, if you’re just to boggled to come up with your own ideas.
You’re welcome:)
Every kid and even neighbour’s dog’s puppies know certain combos are just pure win.
For example
Asuras+mind controlled moa mounts.
Sharks+Lasers
To name a few:)
I haven’t done much of them (i love them but not spoiling my fun with googling where they are). When i find one i do one. So far i gotta say the mount maelstrom one has amazing views, and dremdark enclave UGH! that was a horror of a jq but those views!
Morgan’s Spiral + Dremdark enclave is absolutely amazing, though tough as nuts!
Just wait and see when we get an event where a bald asura in gray coat is trying to get sharks with particle beams (cause lasers are sooo passeeee)
The very idea of achievements is to have casual player do something harder, something he’s not used to. That’s why achievements are granted for jumping puzzles, not vistas.
If you’re after achievements you’re expected to be put through harder things then “score that vista and show your face in your capital city”;)
And isn’t ascended gear needed really only in fractals past 10th fractal level? And anywhere else just being tiny bit better then any lvl 80 rare or exotic?
Vigil Instructor Forgal Kernsson is obvious reference to Thorgal Aegirsson from Thorgal comics;)
My research is completed. Tomes (profession elites) are correctly affected by elite focus, but my racial elite (attacking golem) at all. That should be fixed.
Elites should be re-balanced and i don’t mean nerfs. Some are epic, but some are sorely lacking. I feel for humans with their hounds of balthazar and their short duration and most lame ending (dying rather then going out with huge blast or jumping away into fiery pit which spawned them).
Maybe it’s just me but i think they accually shortened the duration of some elites that had nothing wrong with it. As asura guardian my fav elite is my racial attacking golem, and that should last a minute for me (got 50% extra elite duration with elite focus trait). It certainly did not feel like a minute after last patch. And that’s one very useful elite for me – downed guardian is in a world of trouble, having a strong golem doing decent damage for you is a blessing.
I will also check duration of tomes – those too seem to be shorted then they should be, and they already got crapload of cooldown…
Massively Exploring Role Playing Game – i love the exploring, jumping puzzles ninja events i didn’t see last time while passing by certain area, and the lush beutiful scenery – jungle areas rock!. And the tiny details – bird over rata sum, some bird landing on a rock when i’m doing jumpquest, tiny golem running around metrica province first town delivering all kinds of snarly, sarcastic messages from one asura scientist to another…i simply love this world. And asuras! I seriously pity any game trying to compete in “small short and cute race” departament with asura!
We should have a line of kitten legendary weapons to counter those horses of apolypse!
But seriously, a joke is great when it remains one and not a necessity – this should be some event/karma toy weapon, not a bow that is to wake respect and ooze power when looking at it. But then again most legendary weapons look..experimental to say the least.
I’ll log ingame and check if they say something about structured pvp. I know it’s silly when i got icon for it on top…but some ppl ..namely me, can be that stupid;p
Lvl 72 and NOW i found how to get to structured 5v5 pvp (which i like more then world ones)
But i’ll take that as -1 for advertisement suggestion:)
Hi all, Zef here (MonsterZed ingame), and as a guild wars 2 happy player i saw river of complains about the game here on forums, but not all qualifies as “real problems”.
So here i’m making a moderated topic about it.
Someone (xRazorFistx, props) said that a game is a failure when it fails to execute what it strived for. In the spirit of that i will try to make a list of things that have geniuanly strayed from the GW2 manifesto or are simply unifinished/unrefined and are not achieving the expected result.
List below will be a filtered list of things that need fixing in community’s eyes and indeed are against what Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be. I will not put here any rants that are groundless, or due to person not knowing about something ingame, though suggestion to make something more apparent to player can be inserted if something is “too hidden” for it’s own good ingame.
The cruel judge of what is a real issue and what is a groundless rage-rant will be me, and given time i will give arugmentation in discussion why i rejected some option.
Yes i’m evil;)
Things that need attention in GW2:
I. Personal Storyline & character personality issues:
1. character behavior and voice is the same no matter his personality in cutscenes (barbaric player should be more threatening, captive character more flirtous, and one with high dignity more formal in his speech)
2. many npcs in cut scenes have same redundant animation, rather then proper face mimic and body language matching situation (we’ve all seen that talkey-roll eyes animation too many times).
3. after lvl 30 it stops being personal, starts being order’s story (only order you chose affects it, not your race, or other choices. Why is my sylvari sent to human – charr negatiations, and not nightmare court battling, or fighting risen in maguuma jungle areas?)
4. Forgal Kernsson has pink eyes? WTH?! – Sorry had to put that in;)
II. PvP.
1. More ingame advertisement for Structured PvP needed. I have npcs talking about Mist Wars in every city and that’s how i found world PvP. But because of no peep out of them about Structured PvP i only found that yesturday via gw2 wiki cause i wanted to find it..finally.
So far that’s it, as more is added and discussed list will grow or shrink if some points are proven invalid.
(edited by ZeftheWicked.3076)
I can go on and on about what is right with guild wars 2 and why i love it. But that said yes game has some issues, that are real issues, and not guy x wanting game to be one thing, guy y another. Because that’s not an issue, that’s an opinion.
Maybe i’ll make a topic about it.
I defo agree on personal story part of GW2 needing improvements in many areas.
Better body language and face mimics in cutscenes, those few that are right (zojia’s face animation, rytlock, logan and order instructors voiceovers) just add insult to injury in sea of generic rest. Not to mention the worst of all – your own character, that uses same generic voice no matter his personality (i want my barbaric necro to sound threatening!).
And home instance – seriously, this should be so much more! How about those characters from my story line saying something to me, like “skritt won’t forget you saved them, count on us in trouble”, selling you some unique items -like if i saved quaggans, i get quaggan aquatic gear seller in my home instance, or maybe even a small unit of my order in my home instance. Since home instance is big, and i’m a prominent member of my order, would make sense to keep a small unit under my command in my neighbourhood.
As for topic starter – don’t mistake world events with heart quests. Orange ones are world events and they tend to do have consequences, least in human maps. you can push centaurs back real hard, making most of map easy to get around, or have a centaur under ever kitten rock, making it dynasty warriors game out of attempt to get anywhere.
Anyway Guild Wars 2 is a masssive and epic game, so obviously there are also many flaws. What i belive needs to be done, is to separate real issues that are just bad/unfinished design from biased player views, and fix them one by one.
Guild Wars 2 needs basically to clearly know what it is, and what it is not, and then do what needs to be done to make that happen.
I think it’ll be one time world event like ancient karka. So it’s added but there’s a question when it’ll be activated. Though it’s just my own suspicioun not backed by anything.
When talking aoe i think either devs fell of the horse or had bad case of elementalist. I have a guardian and a necro and i don’t see any “OP aoe” on them. Staff sucks bigtime for both jobs if it’s damage we’re after. AoE on necromancer is sooooo powerful…that i use dagger/dagger (which is 1v1) build to do pve…
as for guardian, only two real offensively meaningful aoe i know of are greatsword 5 skill (thanks to range and damage over time) and torch skill 5 (which is sweet, but hits only in front of you, like engineer’s flametrower). Rest is either too small of an area to mention, healing, or just shooting bolts in random directions with no guarantees of hitting monsters in range at all.
I think much smarter move is implementing a defense vs aoe. Melee attacks i can avoid by staying out of range/blocking. Projectiles i can block or reflect. Aoe i guess walk outta red circle…or a dozen!
Basically what this is about if you ask me, is not that AoE are too powerful (save maybe elementalist), but that they need to be punishable. Given their range and inability to be reflected back, retalliation seems an answer but that’s not a buff many have access too. But perhabs a form of absorption? Instead of taking damage form aoe i could cancel/reduce it’s damage and get buffed from it or reflect damage back. Ofc in form of a skill, with cd. So i can’t defend all the time, but i have some bite vs aoe.
I have played maplestory europe. For those who played it too, nuff said.
For those that didn’t – be thankful for trading post, as it can get worse…much worse.
And it exists so devs can keep eye out for things. With player to player trades botting/exploits etc could be done without anyone ever noticing. Trading post and mail system leave traces to detect and track any suspicious transactions.
Accually i gotta agree i’d like more communication with people in guild and working together but i’ll work on that;) Also game does encourage teamwork with people you know just does it subtly, not a nazi labor camp way “Sucht manche fur deine guild oder stirb!” (look for ppl for your guild or die!).
Rather then setting up impossible challenges to climb alone forcing ppl to guild, they include flavor to quests when more join. Like in charr territory you find those charr turrets here and there that are just begging to be manned by one homicadal maniac while rest of his party holds the line so the monsters stay in the firing zone;)
or that hot oil cauldron in shiverpeaks lionguard outpost that you can pour on the sons of swanir storming the gate. THAT HAS TO HURT!
Or the combo fields and their effects. This is not something you can truly use with randoms.
Stuff like this just begs for a party that knows what it’s doing, in short a guild one!
I just wished more people appreciated that and joined:)
Sure GW2 is not perfect and many have their beefs with it, but hey, i for one love it, and if ppl are so complaining about various things, let’s post here the things that are done just RIGHT, and we’re both thankful and want them to stay that way!
Forget logic or order, this is thread to post things you liked, be it big as whole world, or small as a scale on your armor reflecting light;) What made you happy, post here;)
For me some of the many thing would be:
- Cannon in charr camp raided by ogres – BOOM!
- Crazy quests like that in asurian school where teacher has a “small” problem with his students;)
- even mild subpar intellects of scritt-brained humans don’t fail to understand the awesomeness of asura, their jungle maps and their world events. Clearly asura gates were builds only so you can ascend to the level of asura one day;)
- Skritt! We love scritt! Yes! yes!
- world events with follow events depending how you do! Oh yeah!
- that world event npcs don’t just yap about hunting that monster, they accually go with you (showing you the way) and hunt it with you! After the job they accually walk back to their spot rather then going puff in magical fairy powder leaving you alone. Love it!
- how my armor on warrior looks in high detail. Like every scale on scale armor is visible! love that detail!
- that i can go anyplace i like and get exp and loot for my level regardless if it’s my level zone or lower!
- exploration!
- and that even my warrior can heal others (though ofc guardian has so much more options)
- the personal story panel where i can read my story. When i read first line that said “I’m Really Evil.” it just made my day and made me keep my warrior (Really Evil)!
- that all classes can ress and there are skills to aid with that for each profession. I like ressing a lot!
- those trait panels – love their artwork. Especially guardian one!
- maguuma jungle! it’s awesome!
- dual pistols on thief – BANG! BANG! BANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANG!
- them jumpquest…outta those i found;p
- ebonhawk vanguard featuring lotsa longhaired female archers;)
- scorpion wire for thief. GET OVER HERE!
- making every monster ingame an involuntary blood donor with my warrior:>
- apple jokes with order of whispers (least in first mission, which takes place…well who knows that knows that;)
- vigil keep and gear. kittenery in a can
- norn theme.
- reasons some asura labs are faaar away from rata sum (only 33% risk of generating toxic poison cloud in the process;)
- and obviously no pay to win cashshop nor subs for all that
…and those shiny scales on my human scale armor that look so well in high settings in the sun;)
There’s lot more, but i wanna explore game more and i got only so much time to post this list;p
Follow up if you like;)
Ok my hat is off for gw2 game team. Seems they’re doing such good work driving off gold sellers from game itself, they’re resorting to spamming ppl elsewhere, like this forum.
Just got a “I LOVE YOU” letter from gold seller.
If you could add “report” button for pms like ingame for mails, would be sweet.
Oh the guy who spammed me is bwar.2857, look it up if you like.
Now we all hear about dungeons being unfair etc. I won’t get into that as i don’t have lvl 80 fully geared character yet, but getting whopped in yesturday catacumbs story run i can say for sure i wished i had more defensive traits activated.
Now seeing as dungeon’s goal is to make ppl think what they’re doing and act as a team not bunch of 5 skill spammers, i would like point one flaw that dungeons still have.
Lack of trait resetting npc. Most ppl in normal pve aren’t the turtles and prefer glass cannon builds if you ask me. Dungeon is another beast and just like the anvil at start for repairs it should have trait reset npc so we can prepare a more defensive or supportive builds for what’s up ahed.
Add +1 if you support this idea:)
If you ask me most of the problems araise from players forgetting that they got those defensive trait lines, foods, rune sets etc to make their char something else then a glass cannon. You can be any of the trinity if you spec for it and get right gear.
To be honest i don’t want a Bear or Horse ville in gw2, where everywhere you see humans on horses or norn on bears, hell no.
But asuras on moas sound cool. Every asura knows, that while height is usually a sign on inferior intellect, small optional vertical advantage in dealings with subpar intellects such as those of humans and especially norn might prove beneficial.
Nothing better then a moa in battle armor with customizable colors. And don’t trifle yourself over minor details like moa being a golem moa MK5, or it’s armor set named “Avis mind control & shielding device”
In fact there are rumors of suspicious moa mind control related research being held around queensdale, but those are vile rumors spread by small minds who fear progress!

Metrica province. Caledon forest (the sunny parts), jungle parts of brisban wild lands. Love’em:)
If there’s ever a map expansion…MOAR JUNGLE, RAWR!!!
I was yesturday running across charr turf on my human warrior when i run into ascalonian human ghost zone, and obviously got attacked. I was like: “Don’t those guys hate the charr? Why they pick on my human then? Faaaaaail…”
Such thoughts came to my mind as i splattered their ectoplasm all over nearest 20 square meters of mother nature….
Why not make them neutral to human race like let’s say moas?
In quests that require killing them they could aggro as group if one got attacked or be hostile all the way if let’s say they assault charr outpost and see a human helping the furba…erm i mean charr.
But out in the field it would add up to the story and be a nice touch if they were neutral to human players.
